Chapter 9: Train Station
I made sure that Sofia was totally fine before leaving her last night. She has a solemn beauty that can make everyone admire her just by simply standing at one corner.
I spend the rest of my night on writing on my journal, and found myself spontaneously yawning at 11 pm, and there's when I decided that It's time for me to go to bed.
In the morning, I woke up pretty early because if you didn't know, yesterday I told Zack that we are going to an Island for a crazy adventure, I never been on an island vacation, but I always saw it on TV screens or read it on books. It's often described as a Paradise. And I'm pretty sure it is.
I discovered this beautiful island on the internet, honestly, I've seen it back when I was twelve and I badly want to go since then. I think the only difference between my expectations and reality, is this person named Zack, he was never in my plan. Like I never expect that someone would be willing to join me with this craziness unless the person is equally crazy.
We're expecting a long trip today, the island is quite far from this place, but it's better that way.
Because sometimes it's the journey that is more remarkable than the actual destination.
I took a fresh hot shower as the start of my morning routine and started changing into my black jeans and a white blouse, I tie my brown straight hair into a bun, and apply on my moisturizer and lip balm.
I traced the bruise on my wrist that is still visible. I know, for some reason, that it's gonna last months before its completely gone.
I left a few unwanted clothes just to make my backpack easier to carry. I also informed Zack to make his luggage as light as possible.
I wore on my hoodie and sneakers before walking out of the hotel room with my backpack.
It's 7:20 am, and Zack is probably at the hotel's lobby waiting for me.
I push the 'G' button for the ground floor on the elevator's regulator and stood quietly alone as the elevator pulled down.
When the doors slided open,
Revealed in front of me is a spruce man. He's leaning his biceps on the cream matte wall in front of the elevator, there's a black travel backpack hugging his muscles that are covered by a grey round neck cotton tee and he wears a black baseball cap backward over his brown messy hair.
He seemed so busy swiping on his phone with his other hand placed on the pocket of his black jeans before his blue gazes turned to me and smiled.
Damn, he's hot.
I shake my head from my thoughts and stepped out of the elevator.
"Are you ready?" Zack asked.
"Born ready, " I replied before curving a small smirk.
We first decided to grab a hot breakfast first before heading on our way.
Zack is something we can say, a center of attraction. From the ladies at the reception area, the girls walking in the streets, and it doesn't matter if they are older or younger than him but they would stare straight to his eyes.
We stepped in the nearest cafe and stood at the counter to order.
"Coffee?" Zack asked turning to me.
"I don't drink coffee, " I informed before turning to the female cafe attendant behind the counter. "hot chocolate milk, please," I ordered.
"Why? coffee is nice, " he replied before turning to the same person, "a cup of espresso, " he ordered.
"And I would like to have a slice of this, " I pointed at the cheesecake.
"I'll take that too, "
I glace at Zack and he gave me a grin.
"And pancakes, " I said.
"I'll have that too, " he added.
The female attendant chuckled and I stared at Zack with an are-you-annoying-me look.
He shrugged, "I love pancakes."
"Yeah, " I replied in a straight voice to make it sound more like 'whatever'.
I pulled out my credit card but Zack did the same thing.
"I would like to pay, " we both said in unison.
The cafe attendant stared at the both of us not knowing what credit card she should take.
Are you really annoying me, Zack?
"Look, " I called out sounding a little annoyed, "you said I should pay you about yesterday, and this is it. Let me pay, " I sounded a little annoyed.
He leaned close to my face then grinned, "I'll decide when you can pay me, "
"Umm, excuse me," we both turned to the same female attendant behind the counter, "there's a lot of customers waiting in the line, so I guess, I let Sir pay this time," she spoke formally before taking the card on Zack's hand.
I pulled back my hand in defeat before glacing behind us. I immediately glance back again after seeing about eight people waiting in annoyance behind us.
After taking our breakfast we start moving our way to the nearest bus stop.
"So, we have to ride the bus from here to here and what?" he asks pointing at the map on his phone.
"Ride a cab, "
"But you said, we're not allowed to do that."
"Yeah, just kidding," I chuckle. "I think we have to walk a little to get to the train station."
"It's not that far, " he agreed.
We kept on scrolling to our phone for locations and pieces of information as we rode the bus to the train station.
By 9 am, the bus dropped us off and we started to walk our way to the bus station.
It's not that far, it took us about three minutes walking before we're already standing in line to the entrance.
This subway is very different from what I took last time, that was just throughout the city of Berwein. The difference is that I can go back home to New Viston by taking a seven hours ride from this station. But there's no turning back, so I'm going in the opposite direction.
After our baggage went to the baggage scanner we started to move our way inside.
This place looks like a small airport. People have loads of baggage, some are crying while sending their farewell to their loved ones, others were just chatting, there are some that are just chilling at the benches. And here we are, looking around not knowing what to do next.
"I think we should buy a trip ticket, is it there?" I asked Zack pointing at the line of people.
"Your guess is as good as mine," he spoke like he's about to laugh, "wait here, I'll grab us a ticket."
I watch him walked away following the crowd like he knows where he's going.
I pouted my lips as I glanced and wonder at the surroundings.
This place is covered with white walls and marble floors. The air smells so sweet and savory like mixed butter and coffee probably from the cafeteria at the corner. There are different escalators going down with yellow station signs right about them.
On the other side, there's a long huge wall that has a lot of various destination photos that were gracefully hanged aligned by massive photo frames.
I curiously stepped near the frames.
Each photo frame symbolizes each city and there's a lot of it. There are collage photos of the city's most significant tourist attractions, their different cultural festivals, famous delicious dishes, and any other vital things that can describe how beautiful and worth visiting their places are.
For me, everything is worth visiting.
And there's a reason why I'm here, everything has a reason.
I tried to look for the photo frame of New Viston or Berwein but I ended up standing in front of an LCD screen.
I stared at the man on the screen that does insane stuff. I can't even believe that he would do that, that was so cringey. He jumped at a very high cliff and diving himself at the deep ocean. He sky drive and insanely unbuckled his parachute, chase it, and buckled it up again. He ate Scorpions, and other edible terrifying things, and what was that? penis worms?
wews.
How come he's still be alive?
I crossed my arms and creased my forehead.
Innocent children should not come near this screen.
"Crazy, isn't it?" A deep manly voice made me looked away from the screen and I turned to him.
He stood right beside me facing the screen.
There is something about him that makes me gasp internally. Something alluring, that even though everyone around us is busy, those who glance at him always glance back again.
He has a pair of deep Emerald eyes, a straight nose, sharp jawline, and strong arched brows and eyelashes so thick, it could be illegal. But what caught my attention most is his brown curly hair.
His green gazes were focused on the screen.
He's carrying a black guitar bag behind him, almost the same as the one Zack has.
And I just remember how embarrassing the moment we met.
"Yeah, he's really crazy, " I replied smiling.
"I used to adore him when I was younger, " he turned to me, "not until I saw him devour a lifeless four-inch worm, "
I laughed at his reaction.
He's right that was a massive turn off.
He's so easygoing.
He smiled at me, "There you go, you look more fine when you laugh, "
I look straight to his eyes trying to read what's on his mind.
I gave him a soft smile.
"By the way, where are you heading?" He asked.
"none of your business, " Zack interrupted with straight cold ocean eyes before wrapping an arm around my shoulder and grabbing me close to his torso.
"Zack, " the guy mumbled.
"You know each other?" I was surprised.

Don't forget to drink water.
I mean to vote.
And of course, drink water.
