Chapter 4
Percy was going to die.
Well, at least he thought he would. Thor finally reached an unknown park Percy had never been to.
"Um, Thor?" Percy jumped off of Thor as they landed. Thor caught his arm.
"Yes?" The god answered.
"I don't know if you noticed, but there is no water around here."
"Sure there is."
"Where?"
"Water fountains. The most amazing invention mortals have made. Water magically flowing out. So majestic." Thor sighed.
Percy stared bluntly at the Norse God.
For real?
Percy sighed as Thor helped him limp towards a water fountain. When they found one, Thor let Percy lean against the wall.
"Watch. Magic comes from a button." Thor said excitingly as he pushed the grey bar of the water fountain.
"Very interesting. Now hold the button will you?" Percy concentrated on the water and made the flow go towards him. He let the water seep into his clothes and through his scars. Percy bit his lip as the water did it's magic.
Thor stared amazingly at the demigod. After treating his wounds, Percy felt much better. The water kept his energy going, and that's one of the perks of being a son of Poseidon.
Oh, Perseus. You really think I'd let you heal so easily?
Nyx cackled in his head. Percy looked in his surroundings, looking for anything that would pop out. But surprisingly, there was nothing.
"Perseus?" Thor waved his hand in front of Percy's face.
"Percy." He quickly corrected.
"What now?" Thor asked, expecting Percy to have a plan.
"Leave. Forget you ever saw me. I have to go." Percy quickly got off the wall and pulled up his hoodie.
As he started walking - limping - away, Thor stared bluntly.
He knew not to interfere with demigods, but there was a nagging feeling to follow him. Thor ignored it as he flew away with his hammer, going back to Stark's tower.
Percy sighed as he walked around the park, trying to think of a plan.
Annabeth always had a plan.
Thinking of Annabeth made his heart ache. He desperately wanted to go back, only he would be the cause of destruction.
She's happy without you.
Percy stopped in his tracks.
She's safer without you. She would be dead if she's around you.
Percy inhaled deep breaths.
She'll have somebody else to grow up with while you rot back in Tartarus.
"SHUT UP!" Percy yelled loudly in the park, arousing suspicious from pedestrians.
They looked at him as if he was crazy; as if he had a mental disease.
Percy cursed as he continued walking. He saw someone pick up their phone, and he definitely didn't want mortal police after him.
Nyx was playing with his mind, making Percy go crazy.
As he crossed the street, he noticed a small group of girls around an alleyway. He squinted and looked closer, noticing a specific girl he knew well.
Thalia Grace was giving out orders to a small group girls, until she quickly noticed Percy's figure. Her eyes widened and yelled something Percy couldn't hear.
He broke out into a sprint, trying to run away from the Hunters of Artemis. The girls began chasing him, and pedestrians yelled as they pushed into people.
Thalia was ahead of them, right on Percy's tail. Percy cursed as he made the wrong turn into an alleyway.
He stopped as the wall in front of him blocked his path.
Thalia smirked as she and the girls cornered him.
"Where do you think you're going? You know how worried Annabeth is back at Camp?!" Thalia grabbed Percy's ear and tugged them behind her as she walked.
"Ow! Thalia you don't understand!" Percy pushed away from her, earning glares from other Hunters.
Thalia turned around and looked at Percy weirdly.
"Why did you leave?"
"You wouldn't understand. I'm dangerous! I'm a threat. If I was still at camp, people I love would get hurt. I can't risk that." Percy backed up.
She's next.
Percy cursed and looked around him. Three girls turned into the alleyway, but they quickly transformed.
They turned into Dracaena, and the Hunters immediately took out their weapons.
They hissed and corned the girls and Percy. The Hunters let out arrows, but the Dracaena moved quickly as one of them snuck behind Thalia.
Percy saw what was going to happened and yelled as the monster dug it's teeth into the back of Thalia's neck.
Thalia let out an anguished yell, and collapsed onto the ground. The Hunters quickly lost their guard by the yell of their Lieutenant, and rushed to help.
Percy let out a yell of frustration and uncapped Riptide. He charged the Dracaena and slashed through the one who bit into Thalia's neck.
But of course, one to three wasn't exactly going to go well. As the Hunters were distracted, the three Dracaena slashed viciously at Percy. Blinded by his anger, one of them was able to use their claws to rip through his chest. Percy yelled in pain as another took a bite into his forearm.
The Hunters turned in horror, and firstly watched as Percy was took down. Thalia was hurt badly by their venomous bite, but was being treated by the small group of Hunters.
One of the girls shot the Dracaena with an arrow straight through the heart. It turned into dust, but the other two clawed at Percy, trying to drag him away.
"Percy!" Thalia groaned as she was fed with Ambrosia.
Thalia watched as Percy was dragged away by the two Dracaena. Percy kept fighting, not wanting to face the fury of Nyx.
Aren't you better without help? If you stick around, you would just be a burden.
Percy fell limp and allowed the monsters to drag him away. His body ached, and he saw the tint of fear in Thalia's eyes. It was his fault he dragged her into this mess. It was his fault that he wasn't careful.
He should've considered Nyx's warning.
Suddenly, beams of power shot down the two monsters. Percy groaned as he was dropped to the floor. The Hunters were still in the alleyway, protecting their Lieutenant.
The metal man once again found Percy injured.
"Go. Run! You shouldn't be here!" Percy rasped as the bite in his forearm was killing him.
Poison was running through his veins, and if it went to his heart, he would be dead.
"What was that? Large weird lizard ladies?!" The metal man helped Percy up.
Soon, the Hunters have helped Thalia heal and they got out of the alleyway. They easily spotted the metal man picking up Percy.
"Hey! You put my cousin down this instant you piece of metal!" Thalia Grace shouted, but winced when the back of her neck ached.
"Cousin? Good, you have a family." The metal man tossed Percy to Thalia.
"No! Leave! Run! Forget about me! You'll all die!" Percy yelled, shouting at all of them.
The Hunters took a step back.
"Hold up, Kelp Head. We'll get you to camp and help you-"
"No!" Percy interuppted.
He could feel the poison going through his veins, and if he wasn't treated fast..... Let's just say Annabeth wouldn't be a happy camper.
I'm coming for you. If a single person is around you, they will die.
Percy panicked. "Leave! Go!"
No one moved.
"Kelp Head, look-" She stopped as suddenly a tranquilizer darted out of a tree and into Percy's arm.
The Hunters took out their bows and arrows, on guard.
"About time, Clint." The metal man said as a guy in a black cloak jumped out of the tree with a bow.
"Who are you people? Just random Mortals who don't know how to keep their noses away from other people's business?" Thalia snarled. (A/N: BURN)
"Well, we are the Avengers. Oh, and yeah, we do that to." The metal manstarted to pick up Percy.
"Hey! He's ours!" Thalia grabbed Percy's other arm.
"He has a record and I found him before you did. Until a Norse God took him away and now I was searching for him again. Slow pokes. Found him first." The metal man flew off.
The Hunters released arrows towards the metal guy, but it only bounced off.
"Well, he just left me here. I'm just gonna..." Clint sprinted away as the Hunters aimed at him.
"Not so fast." Thalia released an arrow at Clint as he turned the corner.
He fell limp, and the Hunters quickly raced over to him.
"Anyone have that thing that makes Mortals fall asleep?" Thalia called out to the HUnters.
One Hunter named Jessie handed Thalia the napkin thingy. Thalia put it to Clint's mouth and Clint eventually fell limp.
"Let's take him to camp. Explain to Chiron what we're dealing with."
The Hunters nodded and quickly picked him up. Pedestrians were of course watching, so the girls let out a bomb filled with stuff that makes Mortals forget what they saw.
They sneaked away and started their journey to Camp.
Things weren't going too well.
