Chapter 2

He had no where to go.

He had only one thing to do. To run. Run away from everybody he loves. He knew it would be hard - since he had to start from scratch - as he traveled around New York.

Percy sighed. He was in his camp Half-Blood t-shirt as he walked down the busy streets in New York. People eyed him suspiciously, since it was extremely cold. They were all wearing jackets, except for him. Percy needed to find a cozy sweater, before he starts freezing to death.

Maybe that would be better

Percy thought to himself. There was only one option, and that was to steal a jacket and sweater. Percy sighed as he stopped in front of a small clothing store. He quietly entered, ignoring the stares. He walked down to the men's section. He looked for his size as he looked at different sweaters.

He only needed a one pair of pants and a sweater. And a jacket. He picked up one hoodie, and ripped off the tag. He walked down the sweatpants area and quickly took one. He ripped off the tag of that one too. He went to the jacket's section and looked through. He picked up one of them and ripped off the tag of that as well. As he was walking to the fitting room, he noticed the stack of backpacks.

Might as well. Need something to hold my stuff.

Percy thought as he picked up the black backpack. He quickly turned back to the fitting room and entered one of the dressing stalls.

As he changed, he put his ragged pants and camp Half-Blood t-shirt into the backpack. After wearing the new set, he put on his backpack. Now he had to exit without getting caught.

You're going to get caught, idiot. You just have to run.

Percy scolded himself as he neared the exit. As soon as he opened the front door, sounds blared. The alarm went off. Percy cursed and continued going through the front doors.

"Stop! Stop it right there!" An employee called after him as Percy sprinted out of the store.

He sprinted away from the store and into the busy streets of New York. He looked behind him as he ran, two employees racing after him.

"Styx." Percy cursed as he continued running.

"Get back here, kid!"

He knew he could lose them by running and wasting their energy. There was no problem there. But the alarm sound triggered monsters that picked up his scent. He knew he should have been careful with the alarm.

As Percy turned to the next street, the employees were out of breath. Percy kept running - not sure where - through New York.

But he eventually got tired. He slowed down. But he felt something close to him. He felt it as he turned into an alleyway. He took Riptide out of his pocket and placed his thumb on the cap. He looked around, waiting for a monster to attack.

A snarl was heard from behind him, and he quickly turned. There stood a large hell hound - twice as large as the normal ones - snarling at Percy. But other two shadows shifted next to the large hell hound, causing Percy to feel a bit unsure.

He had no ambrosia, and no nectar. If he got hurt - which was a 99 percent chance - he would have nothing to heal him. Except he could use water. But from where?

The three hell hounds snarled as they circled Percy. Percy gulped and clicked his pen. The sword shone in the dark light of the alley way as one hell hound tried to bite Percy. He quickly dodged the bite, and pointed his sword at the three hell hounds circling him.

You will die here, Perseus. But don't worry, I have more plans for you if you live. Your friends are already suffering.

Nyx cackled in his head, and Percy instantly lost his guard.

What does she mean my friends are already suffering?

But he quickly lost his thought as one of the hell hounds took a bite of his arm. He yelled in pain and quickly tried to wiggle his arm out of the hell hounds mouth. He groaned in pain as the other two hell hounds took the chance to bite his other arm and foot.

Riptide fell out of his grip, sliding across the floor of the alley way.

Percy yelled as the three hell hounds tried to rip him apart.

Is this it? Is this how I die? Ripped apart by hell hounds?

Percy thought to himself as the hell hounds didn't let go, letting their teeth sink in his skin. Percy used his free leg to quick them off, but he was doing terribly. The hell hounds used their sharp claws to dig into Percy's chest.

Percy screamed in pain as their claws ripped his sweatshirt an into his flesh. He was useless. But suddenly, something was flying up above him. His eyes squinted as a person dropped down.

Jason?

Percy thought at first, before looking closely. It was a suit made out of metal, and it looked like somebody was inside. The metal man put out his hand and open his palm. He aimed it towards Percy.

Percy panicked, he knew he was out numbered. But then the metal man pointed it at the hell hounds. Three puffs of light beams exploded out of his palm as the three hell hounds turned to dust.

Percy fell to the floor, bleeding out of the searing pain. The metal man's mask folded away, to reveal a man with a short beard and black-brownish hair.

"What the hell was that!?" The metal man pushed his fingers through his hair before noticing Percy on the floor, groaning in pain.

"Oh, holy shit. I got to get you to a hospital." The metal man hurriedly picked Percy up.

"No! No hospital." Percy groaned as the metal man picked him up.

"Why?" The metal man asked.

Percy only groaned in pain. The metal man's iron hands began turning crimson red. Percy was losing blood, and it wasn't looking pretty.

"Damn, I need to take you to Bruce." The metal man blasted off into the air.

Black spots danced in Percy's eyes. He hated being in the air, and as he flew with metal man, he felt nauseous.

Zeus is going to kill me.

That's the last thing he thought as he lost consciousness.

Back in Olympus.....

"Poseidon!!!!" Zeus bellowed.

Poseidon immediately zapped into view, quite annoyed.

"I was in the middle of a meeting." Poseidon sighed. "What is it, brother?"

"What is your half-dead son doing in my domain?!?!?!?" Zeus yelled, pointing in the middle of the air. A screen formed, showing a metal man carrying an almost dead Percy.

Poseidon's eyes bugged out of it's sockets. He looked at his sons terrible features.

"What is he doing out of camp?" Poseidon asked with a snarl.

He quickly zapped out of Olympus, heading towards Camp Half-Blood.

He needed to take a quick talk with Chiron.
