Chapter 8

Sarah's POV~

It was now April, the blooming month. Me and Asa were now in Africa, wandering around the great jungles, looking at all the natural beauties. Waterfalls, herds of wild zebra, and a beautiful sunrise and sunset every day. Life seemed perfect... a little TOO perfect. On the 17th of April, we went to a hotel to check out a room in Botswana on the Letiahau river. The workers drove little carts around and took people places. We checked out room 49 and walked down the hallway and into the elevator.

We were faced each other and talking when something caught my eye. I turned my head and saw one of Michael's warriors in the lobby. I could tell because I could see his halo. He turned around and saw me. It took him a sec to realize it was me, but when he realized it, he came charging towards the elevator. The elevator doors started to close and closed right before he got in. He had long flowing blonde hair and bright green eyes. He was slim, but had surprisingly large muscles. I didn't know him. "Asa, we need to leave, NOW." I said.
"Why? We just got here!" He exclaimed.

"Did you NOT just see that warrior trying to get into the elevator?" I said.

"No, but I believe you." He grinned, took out our room key, and dropped it on the floor.

"Why did you do that?" I asked while I bent down to pick it up, but Asa stopped me.

"Don't." He said.

"Why not?" I asked, we both stood.

"Just trust me." He grinned. He grabbed my hand and we teleported right as the door opened. I could hear a man scream, but it sounded like it was getting farther and farther away. Oh yeah, we were in the process of teleporting. We ended up right outside the hotel. We looked at each other and turned around and ran right into the African jungle. Who knows what's in there. Well, us, but we didn't care. As we were running, we started to hear footsteps behind us, coming for us. The warrior was coming. And coming fast. We had to think quick. Then, an idea popped into my head. I sped up a little in front of Asa and jumped in the air straight up. I grabbed the lowest branch and brought my entire body up onto the branch. Asa, being lazy, just teleported next to me. I glared at him and started climbing up towards the top. I tell Asa to stop moving. The angel came out of the brush and walked around our tree. He looked around, and started running in another direction. We stayed there for a minute, then climbed down the tree a little.

I told him Asa to stay at the trunk for a minute and I walked out onto the branch. It was very sturdy. All the branches were sturdy. That gave me an idea. "Asa," I whispered "do what I do if you have upper and lower body strength." I said with a wink. Then, jumped to another branch. I landed on my feet and gestured him to do it also. He looked down then shook his head no. "Oh come on Asa!" I whisper yelled.

"FINE!" He said. Then did what I did, but jumped to a different tree. I kept doing it. From tree to tree. Asa did the same. When we reached the edge of the jungle, I jumped to the last branch but missed, on purpose though. I caught the branch and swung on it, let go, did a backflip, and stuck the landing. Asa just jumped down. "Nice thinking Sarah!" He said and slapped my back.

"I used to be in gymnastics in second grade." I said, and blushed.

"I'M COMING FOR YOU TWO!" The warrior angel yelled. We bolted away from the jungle and towards a herd of zebra.

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" I said as we were running.

"Probably." Asa grinned and focused on one zebra. I did the same, I ran, and jumped onto the back of a zebra and started galloping away. Moments later, I saw Asa on the back of a zebra too, riding along side me. We looked at each other and then forward again. We heard the warrior coming closer, as if he were gaining on us. I turned my head around to see him on the back of a lion, running after us. I kicked my zebra and it went faster. "We have to split up!" Asa yelled over the sound of the wind.

"No! I will never find you if we do!" I yelled back at him, tears starting to trickle down my cheek. Asa noticed and rode closer to me.

He wiped the tear from my cheek and said "Hey, it's okay. You will be fine! Now go!" He said and leaned left and turned. I was crying now, but refocused myself. I had to be strong. There were lots of short, thin trees up ahead. Maybe I could lose him in there. There were enough to escape into, but not enough to just hide. I had to maneuver my way through them. Left. Left. Right. Left. There were so many turns I had to take to maneuver my way through all those small trees. I could hear the warrior's yells fading away in the distance. I went into a clearing. There was a downward hill up ahead.

"Now, all I have to do is go down this hillAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!" And I started falling. That was no hill, that was a cliff! My zebra came out from under me and fell faster than me. It had to be at least a 1,000 foot drop. I looked up and saw a long root and grabbed on. My hands started to slip but I held on. Luckily, there was a mini ledge under me that I could just drop down onto. It seemed to go inward too, like a little cave. "Perfect, I could stay here for the night." I said to myself. I heard a very loud squeal and ran to the ledge to look down, The zebra had fell all the way and was now splattered all over the ground down there. I felt sorry for it so I teleported down there next to it. I lightly touched it's forehead and let life flow into it. Slowly but surely the zebra's wounds began to heal. Then, the zebra stood up, and ran off. "Hmm, strange animal." I said to myself and teleported back up to my mini cave.

Awaited for me at the entrance was the warrior. I was greeted by being choked with one hand of his and a blade in the other. He pinned me on my back and said "I, the great Dreth, will get the respect I deserve when Michael finds out I have killed you." He squeezed harder and I could barely breath. I looked down and remembered I was fighting a guy,I smiled an evil grin and he had the most confused look on his face. I kicked as hard as I could, right into his groin. He screamed in pain and let go, and I threw him over the ledge right over the top of my head. which was easy because I was on my back on the ground. I watched him fall and right before he hit the ground, he teleported. But i didn't see where, until i looked straight up and saw him falling right above my head. I quickly teleported to another part of the world.

I had no idea where I was now. There were no signs of life anywhere. Just sand.
