Amri's POV

''im sorry i didn't see you'' he said and helped me up. 

''im Adam, Adam Clarke'' he said and smiled and when he said his name and smiled it sent chills down my spine. 

''i um im late for uh class'' i said 

''its lunch?'' he said 

''right um i have a paper due so i am late turning that in'' i said and i went back in the cafeteria and grabbed andrew and my back pack.

''we need to leave'' i said and he grabbed his back and we walked out the back door of the cafeteria.

''what's going on?'' he said 

''i just met my mate'' i said 

He started laughing and i punched his shoulder.

''what it's just you were just talking about how you don't want one and the moon goddess said sike'' he said and laughed and i rolled my eyes.

''im guessing he's the new kid'' i said 

''adam?'' he said 

''yup adam clarke'' i said 

''whoa he's hot no homo but he's hot whats the problem?'' he said 

''did you not hear a word on how i am not ready for a mate'' i said 

''oh come on amri you didn't give him a try'' he said 

''wait if he's your mate that means they were werewolves'' he said 

''yup'' i said and i saw adam walking towards the door. 

''uh we should go'' i said and i grabbed andrew and we walked away. 

''i don't see why you are so scared'' he said 

''he's gonna find you anyways'' he said 

''i didn't even tell him my name'' i said 

''please amri everyone here know's you all he has to do is ask'' he said and i rolled my eyes.

''andrew i really don't wanna deal with the fact that i have a mate right now and he is here so im skipping the rest of the day and going home'' i said 

''fine ill give you the notes for seventh'' he said and i nodded and i walked out of school and to my car and i got in and drove off. 

As i drove i saw adam run out in front of my car and i slammed the breaks and i looked at him and i scoffed and got out of my car.

''are you fucking insane'' i said and closed my door.

''you lied'' he said 

''okay your point'' i said 

''why are you leaving?'' he said 

''because i am not ready for a mate and you being here just ruins that'' i said 

''oh'' he said and looked down and i felt horrible.

''ugh get in'' i said and he looked up and smiled.

''hurry up before i change my mind'' i said and got back in my car and he got in too and i drove off. 

I drove to the ice cream shop and got off and we walked in. 

''hey amri usual?'' calvin said and i nodded

''uh new guy what can i get for you'' calvin said 

''so your name is amri'' adam said and smiled and i rolled my eyes.

''whatever she's having'' he said and we sat down.

''so amri you have a last name?'' he said and smiled 

''grimaldi'' i said and crossed my arms.

He widened his eyes and i sighed.

''the bad ass who fought for hybrids'' he said and smiled

''is that why you are here?'' i said 

''no actually but my sister is a hybrid so i owe you a thank you for getting her freedom'' he said and i smiled.

''no problem'' i said 

''she's a vampire and a werewolf'' he said and i nodded.

''well she's welcome to our place anytime so she can meet everyone'' i said and he smiled 

''why are you smiling so much'' i said and he laughed 

''because i just ive been waiting all my life to meet you'' he said 

''well feeling was mutual'' i said 

''hey amri here ya go'' kev said 

''you know everyone huh'' adam said 

''in this shop yes but calvin and kev are the main ones i talk to'' i said 

''who's this'' kev said 

''this is adam a friend'' i said and adam looked at me 

''im her mate'' he said 

''really! amri thats amazing'' kev said

''kev i think calvin called you'' i said and smiled and he walked away.

''friend?'' he said 

''look like i said i said feeling was mutual'' i said 

''was?'' he said 

''i used to love the idea of a mate but right now i just i don't have time for feelings and a mate'' i said 

''well i understand you wanna take it slow'' he said 

''no adam i don't want to be with anyone right now i don't wanna take anything slow'' i said 

''what made you not want to have a mate'' he said 

I looked down and i sighed. 

''ive just been through enough alright look im sure you can find a ride home'' i said and i got up and i walked out. 

''amri come on im your mate you can tell me'' he said following me. 

''adam i know nothing about you nothing except your name and i don't want a relationship and i don't want anything i am good worrying about enough alright'' i said and i got in my car and i drove off. 

I got home and tony was the first person i saw. 

''hey aren't you supposed to be at school?'' he said 

''i should have never went back'' i said and i went up to my room and he followed. 

''what is up with everyone following me today'' i said 

''who followed you are you alright?'' he said and i closed my door and i grabbed some sage and i spelled it to make my room sound proof. 

''i met my mate'' i said and sat on my bed.

''uh is that a bad thing?'' he said 

I explained what happened today with adam and he was at a loss for words. 

''why would you say that to him?'' he said 

''because tony my whole life i thought my parents were the perfect mates despite the relationship me and ken had i thought they were in love and eighteen years later i find out my mom had an affair and my dad isnt even my dad because he killed my real dad'' i said and he looked at me. 

''amri you are not your mom and he is not gonna be like your dad'' he said 

''i know but look at everything that has happened tony i killed the man i grew up with because he killed my father i left my mother without a mate and when i finally confessed i loved someone he had secrets'' i said 

''who?'' he said 

''three months ago i lost my virginity to levi'' i said and he widened his eyes.

''LEVI!'' he said and i sighed

''yes i fell in love with him when i met him a few years ago he made me happy and when he confessed he loved me too we did it'' i said 

''twice'' i said and he laughed 

''and then what happened'' he said 

''his ex called him saying he left stuff at her house and then out of anger my powers were triggered two days early'' i said 

''wow'' he said 

''then when i woke up it ended between me and him after that we never mentioned it again'' i said 

''amri this is someone who is totally new in your life adam is your mate the moon goddess didn't put you two together because she didn't think it would work out she did it because she knows he's perfect for you and you owe it to yourself to be happy and try it out with him amri'' he said 

Tony is absolutely right but im just not ready to admit that........
