Alison

I was sitting with Jake in the Hot tub on my balcony just relaxing and soaking up the sun. My phone started to ring again, I was really starting to get irritated with it. “Who is it this time?” I asked, Jake picked up my phone and looked at the screen.

“Jason.” Was all he said.

“Ugh just put it on silent I don’t want to hear it ring.” I said and Jake looked at me there was something in expression worry? Confusion? I couldn’t really tell.

“Ali, maybe…maybe you should call him back. I mean he really cares about you, he’s sent you hundreds of text and called too many times to count.”

“I can’t.”

“And why not?”

“It’s complicated.”

“Try me.” he sighed and took a deep breathe. “Come on Ali. Don’t you trust me? Why can’t you just explain it? I already know so much about you, why can’t I know this?” he asked desperation in his voice.

Heaving a sigh I said, “Because, Jason…well he is very important to me. I am closest to him, he graduates this year and I won’t be seeing him as much anymore. If I hear his voice, if I talk to him I know for a fact I will take the next plane home. I want to be myself. I want to feel free, but because of my mother I never will. Especially if allow myself to go back home.” He nodded his as though he understood but I had a feeling he didn’t.

I looked down I couldn’t handle these thought they are my weakness, Jason is my weakness. He’s like me, he wants to get away from it all. He wants to be free and this May when he graduates he will get to be free. I looked over at Jake, he seemed to be in his own little world. That’s when I noticed the fresh bruise and scrapes on his upper right chest and arm. “Jake, what happened to your chest and arm?” I asked standing up from the built in seat of the hot tub and making my way across the small space to where Jake was so that I could get a better look.

“Oh, that,” he said pausing looking at it as though he didn’t remember how he got it. “I wrecked my motorcycle.” He said nonchalantly as I sat down next to him running my finger over the scrapes lightly.

“You what?!” I yelled. “What the hell do you mean you wrecked?! When? Where? How?” I said in a frantic voice.

“Chill Ali, I’m fine it’s no big deal it’s happened before.”

“Oh my Gosh! You said the first day I met you, you had been in accident! How many times have you wrecked Jake?” I asked looking into his eyes, my face filled with concern.

“I’m still alive aren’t I? I know it’s bad but I promise I will be more careful.” Jake said trying to brush it off. I sighed knowing I wasn’t going to get anywhere with him.

“Okay. Well, I’m turning into a prune let’s get out.” I suggested, Jake nodded and we made our way back into the room. Once inside the room I grabbed some comfortable clothes and made my way into the bathroom. I stripped out of my bathing suite, drying off with a towel before pulling on my underwear and red Celebrity Pink shorts and putting on my bra and purple Burberry Brit shirt. I walked out of the bathroom and saw Jake dressed in dry clothes, sitting at the desk, with a puzzled look on his face as he stared at the computer. “Hey, what are you thinking about?” I asked making my way over to him standing in front of him.

“You ran away more than two weeks ago and yet you aren’t on the news or anything, and if you’re parents have the money they seem too, then why aren’t they looking for you. And why is Jason the only one calling you?” he asked.

“My mother thinks it’s just a phase that I’ll come home. She thinks that because she can track my spending I won’t get into too much trouble. Ryan, he’s a mama’s boy, no matter what he will go along with what she says and wants. Then my dad, well he’s always busy at the Hospital. Derek, I get along with Derek, more than I do with Ryan but he’s probably too busy screwing some girl to even notice.” I say shrugging it off the same way he did with the wreck.

“Ali, you are their daughter and their sister. They should care more about you than this!” he said almost with anger in his voice as he typed something on to his computer. “I’m looking you up.” H he said, my eyes grew wide.

“No! Don’t!” but it was too later, he had pressed enter and all these articles popped up. Jake clicked on the first one. There was a picture of me when I was eleven, you could easily tell it was me.

“Is that you?” I just nodded my head. He became to read the article.

Where Ever Happened To Alison Cartwright?

If you know anything about the gymnastics world you remember Alison Cartwright. The promising young World Class Gymnast was far beyond her years when it came to the tricks she was able to do. Four years ago she was practicing in a small gym in Nebraska. There was no doubt that in four years she would be going to the Olympics, most likely to win the U.S. gold in many different competitions.

However, four years ago, she stopped training, she stopped competing, and no one has seen her since. With no given explanation to any one as to why she left or where she went people are left wondering what this girl could have done. Especially today, today the U.S. girls Olympics team member were picked and Alison Cartwright is nowhere in sight.

“You were a gymnast? A famous, world class gymnast?” he asked in amazement.

“Yes.” I whispered so low I was amazed her heard me.

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Because it the beginning of all my problems! It’s the reason I’m a sixteen year old who loves to go to parties and drink and who decided to sleep with a random stranger. And who ran away from home! It’s the reason I hate my mother! She took everything from me just so she could have it all for herself! She is a conceited, cold hearted, bitch!” I was fuming, I hated my mother for what she did I don’t think I would ever forgive her for that.

“What are you talking about Ali?”

“You see where it said I just up and disappeared! I didn’t just disappear, my mother moved us all half way across the country so she could be a bleach blonde bimbo house wife. She said I could train there and she lied. I didn’t choose to stop training, she forced me. I was supposed to go to the Olympics this year! Mason and I, it was supposed to be us and now…now he’s going without me.” I said as the sadness hit me like a ton of bricks, Mason was going to the Olympics without me, he was going to live our dream. I sat down on the bed as tears started to pour down my face.

Jake got up from his seat at the desk and went over to me, sitting down, as he wrapped his hands around me trying to console me. “It’s alright Ali, it’s alright.” was all he said to me. One of his hands what on my left thigh pulling me into his body while his other hand was on my back moving up and down in a soothing motion. My sobs slowed down after a while but neither one of us moved.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to lose it like that.” I said as I wiped my checks to make sure they were dry.

“It’s okay Ali, really it is. If that were me, I wouldn’t know what to do.” Silence filled the air before he spoke again. “Hey, Ali,”

“Hmm?”

“Who is Mason?” heaving a sigh I looked down at my fingers thinking of the best way to start. “You don’t have to if you don’t want to.”

“No it’s fine. Mason…well he, he was my best friend. We had known each other since we were born. We both went to one of those cute little gymnastics class at the YMCA and we both fell in love with it. The instructor told our mothers that we were both very good and that if we wanted to, that they should go check out the training center. Well they did and Mason and I started training there. We did everything together, carpooled, school, most of the time if we weren’t at the gym we were together. By the time we were eleven, we were both World Class Gymnast. Everyone said we would definitely be going to the Olympics when we were sixteen, it was our dream. To go together, to do all that stuff together. Mason wasn’t just a best friend to me, he was something more.” I explained smiling a bit at some of the stuff we used to do.

“Did you and he every have a thing?”

“No, but I was eleven then, we didn’t see the world that way just yet.”

“Do you think you would have if you had stayed in Nebraska?”

“All the books, movies, and television shows would point to yes, but I don’t know. Maybe, I mean by the time I was eleven, the only people I saw were the ones at the gym and my family. I saw no one else, I didn’t go to malls, or zoos, or even school, so yeah I guess I would have fallen for him.”

“Hmm” that was the response I got.

“Enough about this, I want to go have fun!” Jake chuckled at my sudden burst of energy.

“You, have never been to a real Hollywood party. I think it’s about time you go.” A smirk was plastered on his face.

“No freaking way! Are you serious?!” I jump out of the sitting position I had been and looked at Jake, the biggest grin you could imagine on my face.

“I’m dead serious.”

“This is going to be so awesome! I need to get ready! And I need to wear the right thing…hmm” I rambled as I started to think to myself. Maybe my purple dress….no to formal, what about my neon shorts with my crop top…no not nice enough. Oh I know I can wear my-

“Ali! Ali! Alison!” my thoughts were cut off by Jake, now standing in front of me, waving his hands in my face.

“Huh? What?”

“I have to run home real quick, I’ll be back in an hour or so, we can leave then. Sound good?” he asked

“Oh, uh yeah. I’ll be ready by then I promise.” I said my thought stated to overtake my mind again. I heard him chuckle.

“Alright, see you then.”

“Yeah, see you...uh…then” I murmured as he walked out the penthouse door.

I jumped in the shower letting the hot liquid wash away the never ending nagging feeling that this was all too good to be true. Jake, me being free of my mothers hold, me being myself, just everything. I had a feeling it would all come to an end soon. When I started to turn into a prune once again I turned off the water and got out, wrapping a towel tightly around my body.

I washed my face applied some make-up and started fixing my hair. Once I was satisfied with the way I looked I went into my bedroom to get dressed, though I just about had a heart attack when I saw a figure sitting on my bed. I gasped, a little too loudly, and they turned around. I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding when I saw that it was Jake sitting on the bed.

“What the Hell?! You scared me half to death!” I yelled at him. He chuckled a bit, getting off the bed closing the space between us.

“It’s not my fault you got scared.” I rolled my eyes at that statement, playfully smacking his chest.

            “Whatever, I have to change.”

“Or you could just take off the towel and we could have some fun.” Jake said as I started moving away from him, but he grabbed my arm to stop me pulling me into kiss. It took a bit of effort but I finally pulled away from him.

“Nope.” I say popping the ‘p’ as I grabbed my clothes and made my way into the bathroom shutting the door.

When I was finally dressed and ready, I walked back into my current room. I expected to see Jake still lying in bed but instead he was nowhere to be found. He had to be somewhere in the pent house and since it wasn’t very big I knew I would found him in no time. I set off into the rest of the penthouse to find Jake, my search quickly coming to an end when I find Jake and an older looking gentlemen standing in the living room. “What’s going on?” I asked hesitantly.

“Ali, this is my father, Nolan Spelling.” Jake said there was something in his voice, it screamed nervousness.

“Hello, I’m Alison Cartwright, it’s a pleasure to meet you sir.” I said putting the biggest fake smile on my face has I could.

“Don’t give me that shit; I want to know why you have been keeping my son from doing his job.” Mr. Spelling said anger filling his voice.

“I’m a guest and as a guest, I requested the company of your son, an employee.”

“Well you’re not a guest anymore, your card, it was declined.” He had a smirk on his face as if he had just won a game, the thing is, he was the only one playing the game.

                “That’s impossible.” I stated.

“Apparently not, now unless you can provide a form of payment to stay in this room I suggest you get your things and leave before I call security.” I looked down at the ground and went into my room quickly grabbing my things. “Let’s go.” Jake said, this caught me by surprise I couldn’t believe he was going to leave with me.

“You’re not going anywhere” Jake’s father said.

“Yes I am, I’m going with Alison.” Jake said. I could see his body shaking, he was afraid, but what was he so afraid of? Jake started walking towards me at the door but before he could even get two feet away, his father grabbed him roughly by the arm and punched his face in twice.

“Jake!” I yelled and went to his side.

“You need to leave Ali.” He said he was trying to hold back his tears.

“I think you need to listen to him, he can be very smart sometimes.” Mr. Spelling said a smirk on his face.

“I can’t leave you with this monster! You have to call the police or something! You can’t let him hurt you like this!” I exclaimed and could never even imagine what happened next, in the blink of an eye I was laying on the ground, blood was falling from my nose and my newly busted lip. Mr. Spelling had hit me, hard. I looked up and saw him towering over me.

“He told you to leave, you should have listened, I’ve set off a silent alarm. Security will be here soon.” He said a sadistic smirk was plastered on his face, but the kicks kept coming, meeting my ribs and stomach causing excruciating pain. Jake was trying to get him off of me, but it felt like he was beating me for an eternity.  The blows finally stopped, only to be replaced by the screams of Jake.

“Ja-Jake…” I whispered, not being able to find my voice as the security guards walked into the room.

“Take her away” Nolan said. The two security guards walked over to me and yanked me up. That’s when the worst of it happened, Jake’s father had a pocket knife pressed up against Jake’s arm. I then suddenly found my voice.

“Jake! Jake! No! You can’t let him do that! Why aren’t you doing anything?” I yelled toward the security guard, Jake’s father slice Jakes skin open, Jake’s screams filled the air.
