After Raven explained what Gabriella and Bellamy were supposed to do to turn off the acid fog inside of Mount Weather, the group made its way back to Camp Jaha so the two leaders could take whatever stuff they needed, including a radio so they could keep contact with the ones staying in Camp Jaha.
𝘈𝘯𝘥 Gabriella wanted to say goodbye to Murphy because she didn't want to leave on a possible suicide mission before telling him what she was doing herself.
She knocked on the door of the room she was told he was placed in temporarily and opened it as soon as she heard him telling her she can come in.
Murphy's face visibly brightened at the sight of his 𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥? and Gabriella couldn't help but smile back at him.
He looked like he was actually at peace. Something she didn't see in what feels like forever.
"I didn't know you were back." he commented, sitting on the edge of his bed and spreading his legs a bit, allowing her to slip in between them and to rest her hands on his shoulders while his hands found their way to her waist.
"We just got back." Gabriella explained, sensing a warm tingle spread through her entire body at the feeling of his arms wrapped around her, "We needed to get here as soon as possible if we wanted to get to the main plan. Plus, Jaha Junior needed some serious stitches."
Murphy raised an eyebrow, "Do I even want to know what the hell happened there?"
"No." the blonde simply responded, sighing as she rested their foreheads together and closed her eyes in content.
Gabriella opened her eyes a moment later when he brushed his palm against her cheek, seeing him looking up at her with a fond smile. She didn't hesitate to pull him into a long and passionate kiss, allowing herself to drown in one more moment of comfort before she had to tell Murphy about her plan which will probably result in an argument.
"I think I can get used to that." Murphy mused breathily, after they pulled away.
Gabriella let out a soft hum and brushed her thumb against his dry lips, "I wish I could just get in bed and rest, stay here forever."
"Then come to bed with me."
The blonde couldn't help but laugh and raise a teasing eyebrow that caused him to roll his eyes in amusement, "You know what I mean."
"I know, I know." Gabriella chuckled, but her expression turned serious a moment later, "Our plan is to send Bellamy and I into Mount Weather with Lincoln so we can beat the Mountain Men from the inside and so we can see if we have any friends worth saving left in the first place."
She could instantly feel Murphy's grip on her waist tightened and she knew he was gonna protest so she shut him up by planting a long kiss on his lips, which he hesitantly returned.
"You have to trust me that I'm going to try my best to make my way back to you with all of 𝘰𝘶𝘳 people with me." Gabriella said after pulling away, not even giving him a chance to argue.
"Ellie, if I lose you I've got nothing left." Murphy told her, his eyes pleading at her not to go.
"You're not going to lose me." The youngest Kane stated firmly, cupping both his cheeks with the palms of her hands, "Not now, not ever. I promise."
"I'm holding you onto that promise."
-
After finishing another long make out session with Murphy, -- which they both wanted to keep going but couldn't for obvious reasons -- Gabriella got changed into the grounder clothes she and Bellamy were given by Lincoln and made her way to Sinclair's workshop where Raven, Bellamy and Wick were already waiting impatiently.
"Took you long enough. Too busy saying goodbye to your boyfriend?" Raven commented, raising a knowing eyebrow at the blonde's still slightly flustered state.
"Boyfriend?" Wick chimed in, furrowing his eyebrows and looking between the two girls with an unreadable expression, "What boyfriend?"
"He's not exactly my boyfriend yet--"
"Isn't he?" Bellamy retorted with a short eye roll.
Gabriella glared between him and Raven, "I'm not having this conversation right now. Do you have the walkie or not?"
"There you go." Wick sang and pushed the walkie in front of him to her side of the table so she can look at it better, before he spoke up in concern, his eyes solemnly on his fellow engineer, "Are you sure going there alone is safe?"
"She won't be alone. I'll be there." Bellamy stated, giving Wick a blank look that made both Gabriella and Raven bite back a laugh.
"Yeah," Gabriella shrugged with a faint reassuring smile thrown Wick's way, "I have my knives, Lincoln has his cool grounder weapons and Bellamy has his . . . " she squinted her eyes briefly "hands?"
"Hands?" the eldest Blake repeated with a mischievous smirk, Gabriella shut down with an eye roll.
"You know what I mean."
"Do I?" his smirk only grew, much to her annoyance, "Please, Bambi, by all means. Tell me more."
"Forget what I said last night." Raven chimed in with a look of disgust, "You two flirting is definitely worse than you being nice to each other."
"I'm so confused by this entire dynamic." Wick voiced with a confused frown.
"He's flirting, I'm not." Gabriella corrected the mechanic with a glare, choosing to ignore Wick's words. When she saw Raven open her mouth to argue, she quickly cut her off, "Moving on. Do we have everything? Where's Lincoln?"
"Saying goodbye to O." Bellamy was quick to answer, "We're meeting them at the main gate."
Gabriella nodded and swung her backpack around her shoulder "Okay, let's just get the goodbyes out of the way so we can get going--"
Her words were cut off by Raven tackling her in a hug. The blonde stumbled back in shock before wrapping her arms around her friend's waste and hugging back just as tightly.
"I'm sorry." the mechanic whispered, only for the two of them and Gabriella's arms around her only tightened. She knew what she meant and she understood because she'd do the same if Murphy was the one in danger.
"I understand." she whispered back and felt Raven relax in her arms before they pulled away and Gabriella didn't hesitate to wrap her arms around Wick's neck to bring him into a hug.
"If you die I'm gonna bring you back just so I can kill you." Wick told her after they pulled away, his words making her chuckle.
"Noted."
"Wells wanted to say bye but Abby gave him some sleeping meads so he's asleep." Raven announced, making Gabriella turn back to her.
The only person left to say goodbye to was Octavia, because Clarke had to stay in TonDc. But it's not like she'd really want to say goodbye to her.
They used to be best friends and after Clarke's confusion during the first few days on the ground, Gabriella thought they're relationship would go back to normal.
And it did, for a while.
But they both became different people in both the Skybox and after landing on Earth. Gabriella might have changed for the good but she doesn't think she could say the same for Clarke.
-
After what felt like forever of silently walking through the woods with Gabriella, Bellamy and Lincoln stumbled upon a dead deer, who Lincoln crunched down to cut open.
Gabriella's nose scrunched up and she watched with curiosity as Lincoln smudged the deer's blood on the bottom half of his face and his jaw.
"Okay." Bellamy started, his head tilted in slight confusion, "So we make it to the intake door without any of the real Reapers seeing us. What happens then?"
"I kill everyone." Lincoln told them bluntly, "Then you two slip inside." he nodded towards the backpack on Gabriella's shoulder, "Limestone."
The blonde furrowed her eyebrows but took the bag of limestone out anyway and handed it to the grounder. He opened it, dipped his fingers inside and ran three of his white painted fingers over the side of his face, leaving a trace of war paint behind.
𝘊𝘰𝘰𝘭. Gabriella thought, nodding to herself when she realized it was something he usually did as war paint.
"Let's go." Lincoln said, getting to his feet, "We have a lot of ground to cover before dark."
Gabriella watched him walk in front of her and Bellamy with narrowed eyes before quickening her pace to stand next to him and asking, "Why haven't you answered his question? What happens once we get through the intake door?"
"They remove your clothes, blast you with boiling water, and douse you with something that burns even worse."
Lincoln's words caused Gabriella's eyes to widen. She did not sign up for that part.
"From there, we were sorted. The others were tagged harvest. I was tagged Cerberus, turned into a Reaper." Lincoln added, making Gabriella's face fall into a deadpan expression.
"So which one is the better option there?" she drawled out sarcastically, "Be tortured or marked as a three headed dog that guards the Underworld."
"Chill out, Artemis." Bellamy chuckled in amusement, something unfamiliar bubbling in his chest. His words made Gabriella slow down and snap her gaze away from Lincoln to connect with his, "What did you just call me?"
"Artemis." the eldest Blake repeated, "Greek Goddess of hunt."
"I know who Artemis is." Gabriella deadpanned, still slightly shocked Bellamy Blake of all people would know that.
Their attention soon snapped towards Lincoln, as if they just realized they weren't alone. Noticing Lincoln's curious expression, Bellamy explained, "My mom read mythology to Octavia and I all the time. Octavia loved it."
𝘏𝘶𝘩, Gabriella thought as she looked at the side of Bellamy's face with unfamiliar softness in her eyes, 𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯'𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘭𝘭.
"You're good for her." Bellamy spoke up again after a while, clearly addressing only Lincoln this time, "You made her strong."
"She was already strong." was all Lincoln said, but his words still made Bellamy stop walking, resulting in his two companions to stop too.
"Hey, I need to ask you something. You protected my sister before you even knew her." his head tilted and his eyes narrowed, "Why?"
"When I was a boy, I saw a ship fall from the sky . . . like Raven's." Lincoln started, "The man inside was hurt, his body broken. I couldn't get him out."
"Suicide by Earth." Gabriella voiced, a light bulb lighting up inside her head, "I thought that was just a myth, a story parents told their kids to scare them."
Bellamy nodded from next to her, "I heard stories in the guard, I just didn't know they were true."
"I brought him food, water. I didn't speak the enemy's language yet. So I couldn't understand him, but I wanted to. So on the third day I told my father." Lincoln's voice went cold at the last sentence and his next words made Gabriella's shoulders fall down in realization, already knowing what was coming, "He made me kill him. The world has been trying to turn me into a monster for as long as I can remember." he cleared his throat and turned their backs to the two delinquents, "Let's keep moving."
Bellamy stopped him again, "Wait! The parking garage where we found you, it's north, that way."
"There's a mine entrance closer to where the Reapers hand us over. We'll get into the Underworld when we have to, not before."
Gabriella noted the way Bellamy pursed his lips in slight annoyance when Lincoln turned around and left the two of them standing alone so she punched his shoulder -- hard enough to make him turn his attention to her but not hard enough to hurt him buch, "Stop acting like a child and get moving."
-
Gabriella peered over Bellamy's shoulder so she could take a better look at the map of Mount Weather that Clarke drew when she got out.
They just reached the bottom of the Mountain where Gabriella and Raven connected their radio to Mount Weather the same day Wells and the Blake siblings sneaked off and found Lincoln.
"The mountain has many eyes between here and the tunnels. From now on, details must be exact." Lincoln spoke up from behind them, making the duo turn around to see him sharpening a long stick with his axe.
"What if we run into real reapers? Won't they wonder where you've been?" Bellamy asked, following Gabriella back to where Lincoln was.
"All they see is the red." the grounder explained with a small frown, "Once you take it, nothing else matters, just how you'll get more."
Gabriella eyed him cautiously before allowing her curiosity to get the better of her and asking, "Do you remember anything? From when you were on the drug they injected you with?"
"I remember everything." Lincoln told her and her face fell into an apologetic look. The grounder narrowed his eyes a little before looking between her and Bellamy, "Turn around."
The duo shared a short look before they both turned around with their hands raised in the air, allowing Lincoln to tie a wooden stick on each of them.
-
They finally reached the underground entrance to Mount Weather and not that Gabriella would actually say it out loud, but she instantly felt shivers run down her spine. The place gave her some serious chills.
"Come on, let's do this." Bellamy told them, him too noticing how quickly Lincoln froze at the dark entrance.
As the trio stepped into the tunnel, Bellamy must have sensed Gabriella's nervousness and his eyes quickly found hers. His voice was quiet but reassuring when he said, "We will be fine. Just stay close to me."
Swallowing harshly, Gabriella's shoulders relaxed slightly and she was quick to return the nod the eldest Blake gave her.
"You too."
-
They were doing fairly well, when Lincoln decided to stop in the middle of the tunnel.
"What's wrong?" Gabriella questioned cautiously looking at the grounder.
He didn't respond, only stared down at a vile before he took a step forward to crush it. He looked as if he was in some sort of trance and Gabriella couldn't help but furrow her eyebrows in concern, Bellamy being the one to voice her question "Hey, you okay?"
"As soon as they open the intake doors, we attack. Do not let it close." Lincoln stated, discarding their questions, "Once they're all dead, the two of you go in. I'll make it look like you escaped. When you're both inside--"
"We know." Bellamy cut him off as soon as they heard shuffling in the shadows behind them.
"Another Raider party." Lincoln rushed out, "We have to go back. It's the only way."
"Go back?" Gabriella hissed quietly, pissed off at the mere thought of having to back away when they got this far, "Now? Are you out of your mind?"
"There's three, maybe four. We can fight our way through."
Bellamy shook his head stubbornly, "No way. We'll never get a better chance than this."
"I thought I could do this, but I can't." Lincoln snapped silently "It's over."
"No." Gabriella shot back as quietly as possible, "We didn't get here just to go back to Camp Jaha. Go back if you have to but I'm staying."
"We can join them. When they bring out the red, you grab it and then you run like hell." Bellamy chimed in, his eyes set on his little sister's boyfriend, "The reapers will go nuts, the grounders will run and the Mountain Men have to deal with it. No one will be looking for a grounder running into the mountain."
𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘺 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘵. Gabriella thought with a surprised raised eyebrow.
"I said no." Lincoln growled, clearly not having the same thoughts as her. He finished untying Bellamy and swiftly removed the ties from Gabriella's hands.
Bellamy surprised them with an animalistic growl and by pushing Lincoln against the wall, "Fight me. They'll think we're just trying to escape."
Lincoln quickly tackled Bellamy to the ground and wrapped his arms around Gabriella's neck, but didn't put any pressure on it. As on cue, three reapers walked to their part of the tunnel. The Kane girl listened to them exchange a few grounder words before she was thrown over Lincoln's shoulder.
When Lincoln set her back on the ground, they exchanged a subtle nod and the next thing she knew the reapers tied a blindfold around her eyes. She could only hope they were sending her to the same place as Bellamy.
-
When the blindfold was taken off her, she was only in her Ark sports bra and boy shorts. To her relief, Bellamy was standing on the opposite side of her, undressed in a similar manner.
A doctor in a hazmat suit came up to Bellamy and stared down at him before speaking, "Harvest."
Both Gabriella and Bellamy tried to keep the relief on their faces, which quickly disappeared once the doctor approached her. She looked at her for a moment before speaking, her next words making both her, Bellamy and Lincoln freeze.
"Cerberus."
