Ken knocked on the door to Hide's apartment, and he opened it immediately.
"Hey, come on in," he said, smiling warmly, both because he was happy to see Ken but also because he knew she needed that warmth in her life.
Ken nodded submissively and went in, sitting down on the couch.
"I just don't want to see them."
"You're aunt's family?"
"Yeah. And Shuu. He keeps texting me. I don't want to answer."
"Give me your phone."
Surprised, Ken took it out and handed it to Hide.
Hide smiled then put the phone in his pocket. "Now you don't have to worry about it." He patted Ken's head and handed her a pillow before grabbing a blanket from his room. "Get some rest. You're probably not sleeping well, right? So just get some sleep, okay? I won't leave my apartment. I'll lock the door. Just rest, okay?"
After a long pause, Ken nodded and laid down on the couch.
Hide smiled at her before going and locking the door. He would keep Ken safe. From the world. From her aunt.
From Shuu.
