"Since then – 'tis Centuries – and yet
Feels shorter than the Day"
I drifted off,
head drooping,
leaning over the edge--
BONK!
Snapping right up,
pain flaring at my forehead,
red flushed over my face.
"I wasn't sleeping!"
I insisted quickly,
hissing at those snickers
my classmates failed to hide.
"Well, that's wonderful,"
Ms Rose with her gassy giggle,
"Well, I expect
you will be able to
complete
this poem's analysis
without my help, then?"
I sucked in a breath, bracing myself.
Ms Rose had on that ugly face
that meant she wasn't happy.
"Yes, ma'am,"
there was no other answer.
And today,
I went home bitter.
"Who could blame me
if her classes are terrible?"
I whined.
And instead of doing my
homework,
I picked up my phone,
and played a game.
