Anna hold onto Jessica's body while she took them down with the help of her powers. She carefully landed a few feet away from where Bucky had precipitated just a moment before. Anna quickly let go of her and rushed towards her husband, who was lying motionless on the ground.

"Buck!" She said, and was soon reassured when she saw he was alive. "Are you alright?" She offered him her hand for him to get up, but got distracted when a small droid flew close to them. "Oh, look! That's Redwing." She said to Jessica as she pointed at it.

"I have all of that on camera. You know that, right?" Sam's voice emanated from it.

"Get out of my face, Sam, or I'll break it." Bucky grunted as he slowly recomposed himself.

"Okay, head north. Come on."

The three of them followed the bird-like robot until they arrived to what seemed an abandoned industrial freight building. There, they met with Sam again.

"They're in there." He gestured at the building in front of them.

"What are we waiting for, Sam?" Anna asked, not being able to see a thing from her point of view. Unlike her, he could see much more thanks to Redwing.

"I don't know. I think they're smuggling weapons, though."

"Well, I think you could be right." Bucky said. "But there's only one way to find out. I see a clear path. I say we take it."

"We're not assassins." Sam said angrily to him, appalled at his idea. Jessica became paralysed for a second at those words. She didn't know it they also applied to her.

"I'll see you inside or not." Said Bucky before looking at Anna. "You coming?"

"Yeah," She said, agreeing as she needed to get closer to achieve a better sight. "let's go."

Everyone except Sam moved to the other building. They walked silently, and Sam watched through Redwing.

"Look at you. All stealthy." They heard from their earpieces. "A little time in Wakanda and you come out White Panther."

"It's actually White Wolf." Anna corrected him, which only confused the Falcon.

"Huh?"

They all hid behind some large shelves full of boxes; Bucky behind one, Jessica and Anna behind a different one. They waited for their targets to show a signal of activity.

"All right, I'm inside. Therefore, way ahead of you. It's not great, but very doable." Bucky boasted, but the girls saw how Sam was flying in their direction. "What the-" He said when he noticed his fellow. "Hello, how are you?

"Good. What did I miss?" Sam asked sarcastically. "Nothing."

"Seriously guys, shut up." Anna tried to focus on their targets.

"All right, let's go."

"No, wait-" Sam stopped Bucky when he tried to approach the objectives.

"I got a vibranium arm. I can take them."

"And I can fly. Who gives a shit?" Sam answered but Bucky ignored him and attempted to get going again. "Wait, I want to see where they're going."

"There's two people."

"You only see two? Let me see what Redwing sees." Sam starts flying the drone closer to the people we're watching. "Oh, look at that. How many people you see now? One, two... Oh, here it comes again."

"James." Anna said, disgruntledly. The men shut up at once. "Honestly, we're here to do a job. You two bickering won't get it done."

"Ooh, she called you James." The Falcon teased him. "You're in big trouble."

"You're worse than I remember." She rolled her eyes. "Can we focus on the problem?" They saw the men load a big and heavy-looking package into a truck with they bear hands.

"So, they're strong." Bucky pointed out. "Whatever. Let's go."

"No, no, wait."  While trying to stop the Winter Soldier, Sam knocked over something from the shelf, making it clatter against the floor. "Shit."

"What do you see Sam?" Anna asked once they saw the people continue with their work.

"There's an eighth person." He says, a bit alarmed. "I think they have a hostage."

At the sound of those words, Bucky stood up and started running after the truck, while Sam unfolded his wings and took off in the same direction. Anna stood up to run as well, but was withheld by the younger girl's broken voice.

"We're fighting?"

"Jessica." Anna turned to her daughter, who she found staring at the exit with trembling hands.

"I'm not-" She tried to talk, but the words wouldn't leave her mouth.

"Jessica?"

"I'm not an assassin." She cried, shaking her head in denial. Sam's word still resounded inside her head. "I'm not an assassin."

"Hey, you're not." Anna ran back to her, but Jessica felt very disoriented. She felt she was suffocating. Air couldn't get to her lungs. "You're not an assassin. You don't have to fight. They'll be okay."

"They're stealing medicine. Vaccines." Anna heard Bucky from her earpiece, and took off Jessica's so she wouldn't get distracted by the ongoing fight. She needed to concentrate in her breathing.

"Buck, turn on your tracker." The woman told him, and she soon received a notification in her tracking device.

Jessica's breath calmed down until it went back to normal. Anna waited for her to feel better before talking again.

"We'll follow them, don't worry." She assured the girl, seeing she might fret that they had fallen behind. Anna helped her up and then ran to the outside, where the truck previously was stationed. She found a pickup truck in the distance, probably one they used to load and transport cargo around the complex. Luckily, the keys were plugged in. Anna unloaded the boxes from the truck's tail as Jessica walked towards the vehicle and got on the passengers side.

Anna finally started the vehicle and drove in the same way the others had gone. She put out her tracking device with the GPS signal that showed Bucky's location and followed it. The pick up was going as fast as it could, which contributed to an awful noise to emerge from it every time she accelerated. Eventually, the girls got close to them and saw them fighting in the top of the trucks. Suddenly, Bucky was thrown off the top and was left hanging from the bottom of the lorry. Sam spread out his wings and pushed him out of the road before a member of the crew they were fighting could make him fall. Anna stopped the pickup close to were they had landed.

"Get out, you need fresh air." She told Jessica, who looked pretty shook. When she stepped out of the truck, she found Bucky on top of Sam, both men grunting from the brutal collapse they had just experienced. Anna couldn't help but tease them. "See? Ain't that better?"

"Get off of me!" Grunted Sam as he pushed Bucky off his body.

"Where were you?" Bucky asked his wife when she was close enough.

Anna looked back at Jessica, who was leaning against the pickup. She thought maybe it wasn't fair to the younger girl to share what had happened. "Jessica can't be seen fighting. Someone had to stay with her." Bucky nodded, believing her excuse. It was true, though. But it wasn't exactly what had happened. She'd clearly have a panic attack.

"They are all Super Soldiers, Anna." Sam let her know, taking her aback.

"What?"

"It's true." Bucky stood up, and Sam did the same. "We can update you on our way back."

But as soon as they turned towards the truck, a loud bang went off the hood and black smoke started coming out of it. Jessica jumped away from it, as she wasn't expecting that. That truck wasn't made for such chases.

"I shouldn't have pushed it."

. . .

The lot had to walk back to the nearest German airport. Jessica had recognised they were in Europe thanks to the foreign signage they kept coming across on their way. Luckily, Bucky and Anna seemed to understand it. Jessica still didn't want to say anything. Yeah, being out here was much better than staying trapped in a small Brooklyn apartment, but the level of anxiety she had just experienced made her want to lock herself down.

"Sorry about Redwing." Bucky eventually said to Sam, who didn't believe him.

"No, you're not."

"What happened to Redwing?" Anna asked while walking behind them, right alongside Jessica. She had to admit, it was nice to be around her. She thought she'd have conflicted feelings for the woman, since she just reappeared in her life, and she did,  just not what she expected. She wanted to reproach her for that, but she found herself actually liking her.

"They killed him, that's what happened." Sam replied, implying it had been Bucky's fault. The Winter Soldier said nothing, and Sam teased him for that. "What's going on in that big cyborg brain of yours?"

"It's computing."

"You know what? I can actually see it. I can see the gears turning. Oh, they're malfunctioning, shutting down. Yep, they're on fire." Anna chuckled at his comments and Sam turned his head to the side to address the girls behind him. "You should've seen him out there. A little girl kicked his ass. She wouldn't have been much older than you, Jessica." She looked up at the man. "You know, I was kind of let down that you couldn't fight with us-"

Anna cut him off before he could start a conversation about the fight. Jessica appreciated that. "So, where did they get the serum from?"

"That's the thing. We don't know."

"Yeah, and how in the hell after 80 years are there eight Super Soldiers runnin' loose?" Sam asked, but before he could get an answer, a military vehicle slowed down next to them. Inside, the new Captain America and his companion smiled at them.

"So that didn't go as planned, huh?"

Nobody replied to the Captain.

"Look, at least we know what we're up against now, huh?" He tried again. "And we're pretty sure it's one of the Big Three, so..."

"Aliens, androids, or wizards?" Sam asked, making Bucky shoot him a look of disbelief.

"Pretty sure."

"There's no such thing as wizards." Buck said.

"Then it's aliens, or androids..."

Sam added something that the new heroes didn't know. "Or Super Soldiers."

"Shit! Super Soldiers, for real? "

"Yeah."

"All right, well, then we gotta work together." The Captain suggested. Bucky was quick to decline.

"That's not happening."

"I think we stand a much better chance if we all just..."

"Just 'cause you carry that shield, it doesn't mean you're Captain America." The Winter Soldier continued. It certainly was something personal to him.

"Look, I've done the work, okay?"

"You ever jump on top of a grenade?"

"Yeah. Actually, I have. Four times. It's a thing I do with my helmet. It's a reinforced helmet. It's a long story, but, any... " Once again, he got no answer from anybody. "Look, it's 20 miles to the airport. You guys need a ride. Gary, stop." The car stopped, he opened the gate for them to jump in. "Get in."

They did, after all, it was 20 miles until their journey's end. As there were six of them, they had to sit three in front of the other three. Sam took the spot next to America's new pet and his friend, while Jessica sat with James and Anna.

"John Walker, Captain America. Nice to meet you ladies." He introduced himself with a wide smile. "This is Lemar Hoskins, Battlestar."

"Hey, I know who you are-" Lemar pointed at Jessica. Although she wore her hair in a ponytail, it was easy to identify her when he was facing her at such short distance.

"That really doesn't matter." Anna said rudely. It was the first time she had spoken in that tone. Her expression had darkened since the arrival of the Captain.

"Wow, okay..." Walker said, lifting his hands up as if he had done nothing wrong. "I like 'em fighty. Am I right?" He chuckled while looking at Bucky, who had started breathing a bit heavier than before.

"She's married." To Anna's surprise, Sam was the one who brought it up.

"Oh, sorry, ma'am." He said in a humbler manner. "Didn't see the ring."

"Next time I'll show you up close." Anna said as a thread. There was a moment of silence then, until Walker returned to their main point.

"Okay, so we've got eight Super Soldiers on a bulk supply run. Why?"

"They say their mission is to get things back to the way it was during The Blip." Sam explained. "Maybe they're just trying to help."

"They had a funny way of showing it." Lemar scoffed.

"That serum doesn't exactly have a great track record. No offence." Walker looked at Bucky.

"We need to figure out where they're going. How'd you track 'em here? The Flag Smashers?"

"Uh, no, we didn't track them, we tracked you, uh, through Redwing."

Sam's mouth dropped open at that confession. "You hacked my tech?"

"Sorry. It's not exactly hacking. It's government property. Kind of the government." Walker pointed at himself, then he realised the couple was staring daggers at him. "Do they always just stare like that?"

"You get used to it."

"Or not." Anna said. She had achieved to intimidate the Captain, and she could see it even if he tried to hide it.

"Okay, look, you know, things have gotten kind of, uh...Chaotic." Walker continued with their new problem. "The GRC, they're doing the best they can to get things up and running smoothly, post Blip: reactivating citizenship, social security, healthcare. Basically just managing resources for the refugees who were displaced by the return."

Sam nodded. "The Global Repatriation Council does all that, I get that. So why exactly are you two here?"

"Well, they provide the resources and we keep things stable."

"Yeah, violent revolutionaries aren't usually good for anyone's cause." Lemar added.

"Usually said by the people with the resources."

"We got a lot of resources. If you guys, if you joined up with us, we could..."

"No." Bucky declined the Captain's offer again.

"I got mad respect for both of y'all. But you were getting your asses kicked till we showed up."

"Who are you?" Buck tilted his head at the Captain's companion.

"Lemar Hoskins."

"Look, I see a guy hanging out of a helicopter in tactical gear, I need a lot more than Lemar Hoskins."

"I'm Battlestar. John's partner."

"'Battlestar'?" Bucky exclaimed. That had done it for him. "Stop the car!"

"Look, I... I get it, okay? I get the attitude, I do." John talked as Bucky got off the vehicle, trying to get him back. Anna followed his steps and gestured Jessica to get down as well. "You didn't think that the shield was gonna end up here. I get it, Bucky."

"Hey! Only I call my husband Bucky!" Anna turned to the Captain America wannabe scandalised. She pointed at the Falcon. "And Sam! C'mon buddy, get out."

Walker tried to regain power of the conversation. "And I'm... I'm not trying to be Steve. I'm not trying to replace Steve. I'm just trying to be the best Captain America I can be."

Anna didn't buy his bullshit. "Sam! Get out!" That time, Sam did as was told, but because he was also fed up with Walker's words.

"That's it." Walker finished. "It'd be a whole lot easier if I had Cap's wingmen on my side." Their car started again and they drove away from the group.

"It's always that last line." The Falcon mumbled and started walking towards the airport again. They still had 9 miles to go. Once the two men had set forth, Anna stopped Jessica.

"You okay?" She asked as she had seen how quiet she had been since the incident. Jessica knew she couldn't hide much from the woman, she had a gift reading people through. She had witnessed that just now with the new Captain.

"Yeah," She nodded, not being one hundred percent honest, but knowing she didn't have many options to say back. "I'm good."
