Chapter 1: The Mall
It was Friday. I was at school during lunch time.
I walked in the cafeteria and got an apple, sandwich and a juice box. Just the usual. I approached my friends and put the tray of food on the table they were at. It was at the far back of the cafeteria.
"Hey, Twilight," Rainbow greeted me. "Ohh...hi," I smiled gently. Everyone looked at me, expecting me to say something else. "W...what?" I asked, slightly puzzled. "Don't you remember? Tomorrow's your birthday," Pinkie screamed.
I already knew that my birthday was tomorrow...I just didn't think it was such a big deal. "S...so?" I asked. "Happy soon birthday!!!" The party girl screamed jumping in the air, pulling out balloons out of no where. Sometimes I just don't understand how she can do that. She's just...disobeying the laws of science, but I could say the same with magic so...
Anyway, everybody stared at Pinkie as her voice echoed throughout the cafeteria. She smiled nervously and sat down, taking a bite out of her muffin. "Casual Pinkie," Sunset smiled at me, making me smile back. Soon, lunch time was over. "Bye, Twi," Applejack grinned at me.
Eventually, school ended and I went home, only to be greeted by Spike. "You're back!" he jumped with joy. I felt bad for leaving him alone. Maybe the school would allow me to bring a pet tomorrow...since it's my birthday. I pet Spike as he licked me. I looked at my house, which I would address as a huge mess sometimes.
I stayed here since I was 15. My mom and dad would only visit me twice a year. There wasn't much at my house. Just a kitchen, bathroom, and a bedroom. It was simple yet nice. There weren't many electronics either. I had no phone, no television, no computer and so on.
I really wanted a phone. It sounded...interesting, but I was never able to afford one. I started doing my homework and went out after I was done to get dinner. I walked down the crowded street feeling uncomfortable. Was it because of what I was wearing or was it because I wasn't wearing any make-up?
I continued to walk to a restaurant until I saw Pinkie buying some streamers and balloons. She looked excited. I decided not to greet her. Not because I find her annoying or anything. It's just that she seemed busy. I continued walking till I reached a fast food restaurant. I ordered a burger and some fries.
As I waited, I glanced at a huge mall which was only 600 meters away from me. It's been about a year since I went to a mall. Maybe since it was Friday I could...no... Spike would be worried, but what if I just stayed there for a few minutes. I took a paper bag which had my burger and fries in it and headed to the mall.
I'm sure I wouldn't stay there too long.
