yesterday my stepmom dropped me off at my grandparents and decided to stay for dinner

during dinner, they decided to talk about the election.

they were talking about how they were SO happy that trump won and i just kinda sat there as my step mom ranted about how everyone thinks he's against this and that when he's not, he just wants to bring things "back to their former glory"

so then my grandma started talking about gay people she's friends with on facebook were all mad about the election because they think he's homophobic and my grandpa was like "i haTE GAYS"

and he and my grandma went back and forth like
"scott, you do not"

"yep. yep. i hate lesbians and gays and all those others, depORT THEM ALL"

"you can't just deport them"

"they're ruining our country"

my grandma must have seen how uncomfortable i was because she turned to me and said, "he's not really against all that. he's just trying to make jokes and be funny"

THEN they started talking about how people are starting to wear safety pins and talked about how stupid they thought it was

ive only heard a little about the safety pins so i asked what it was about and my grandma said
"it's something pro hillary supporters are wearing for other people to know that they are a 'safe person' to talk to. or in other words you have to be very careful when talking to them or else they will have to get their sippy cup when they get offended."

i just kinda kept my mouth shut because i knew if i said anything i would have to rant about the lgbt community too and i really didn't want to get into all that with my step mom but i don't really care if it's just in front of my grandparents because i lecture them all the time when they say something wrong so im pretty sure they both know im gay in some way

and then they talked about how all these 'safe zones' and 'stress relievers' at colleges were stupid and that students shouldn't be so overwhelmed about trump winning to the point where they can't do their work

anyways i just needed to rant about that ok thanks
