Pilot/The Road To Corinth
~Bella's outfits~
Isabella or Bella Connor-Shepherd knew from the moment she was born that she was lucky in every way possible as her dad Derek Shepherd is a wealthy world class neurosurgeon. She had a twin half brother named John Connor who lives a utilitarian lifestyle with their mom Sarah Connor after they were targeted by cyborg assassins called terminators.
Today was Bella's first day at Seattle Grace high school after transferring from Manhattan preparatory school where she was the most popular girl and a favorite amongst the teachers because she inherited her parents smart genes maintaining A+ average grades and believed in being friends with everyone from the nerds to the cheerleaders and even the school yard bullies. Little did she and her parents know that this decision will be their undoing.
"Morning Bella are you ready for today?" Meredith asked.
"Morning Mere and yes I'm totally ready for today. I can't wait to start school." Bella said then walked around the kitchen island and kissed her dad good morning.
"I see your hair is perfect as always dad I mean your nickname totally suits you." Bella said.
Derek simply chuckled at Bella's statement before he handed her the pancakes that had just been made. He knew that Bella was right though Derek couldn't stand the thought that his hair wasn't looking perfect and he definitely had to agree with the statement that he did live up to the name McDreamy everywhere he went women were constantly eyeing him or attempting to undress him in their minds.
"Of, course it is Bella I can't go out without prefect hair I mean it's like you Bella when it comes to clothes everywhere you go you're always looking fashionable." Derek said.
"True. Anyways I should get going it take 45 minutes to get to school from here and I don't want to be late." Bella said.
Bella then kissed her parents goodbye and headed for her car when they moved here her parents had bought Bella a car at first she insisted that they only buy a Toyota or something not to expensive but of course her parents weren't going to do that instead choosing to buy her a pearl white Audi sports car.
Bella was excited about getting to drive the car but she also hoped people wouldn't be jealous of her as she walked to the car she took a moment to admire the view they lived on a 40 acre property surrounded by the woods but the house was situated on top of the hill which allowed for the most amazing view of the city.
Bella got into the car and made it onto the ferry she decided she would get out of the car and observe the view and she certainly wasn't disappointed.
The view of the river was breathtaking and Bella loved observing the view of Seattle even though she loved New York she was certainly warming up to Seattle and could definitely get used to the views of the city.
Bella made it to the school but as she pulled up into the parking lot she could see people starring at her she could also see them whisper it was clear to Bella they weren't used to seeing kids driving fancy cars nevertheless she brushed it off figuring they'll find something new to talk about eventually.
Bella looked around at the school and while the school was nowhere near as fancy as her old school it still had its charms the school was very pretty and when she walked it the halls were just as lovely the school had the students work hung around the halls and the lockers were nice and modern for a public school. Bella walked to the principal's office so she could get her timetable.
"You must be Isabella Shepherd. I'm Mr Western the school principal and can I say it is an absolute pleasure having you at our school. I have no doubts that you will be an exemplarily student here and an excellent leader. Heaven knows that we do need a good role model at the school. I have looked through your grades and they are outstanding and I understand that you are taking AP chemistry, maths, biology and English so hopefully that will provide you a challenge." Mr. Western said.
"Yes, well I love a good challenge and I look forward to being a good leader to the students here." Bella said and he directed her to where she could find her locker and all of her classes.
After putting all of her stuff into the locker which considerably smaller than her old locker she looked at her schedule and saw that she had English as the first class.
"Hey new girl come here for a minute." A girl said.
"Hello I'm Bella." Bella introduced herself.
"Yeah I'm Natalie I just wanted to warn you that the kids around here especially the popular group will be extremely jealous because this school doesn't usually see the preppy girls and trust me they will give you a hard time about it." Natalie said.
"Maybe so but it would bring a good change within the school and make it a little classier. Don't you think?" Bella asked.
"Yeah. Have that attitude around here and they are going to bully you like crazy. This isn't a private school rich kids won't survive around here, you may have been popular at your old school but trust me it won't be like that here." Natalie warned.
"Thanks for the tip. It's much appreciated." Bella said and walked into her homeroom class and sat at the only empty chair towards the front as she walked in everyone couldn't help but stare at her.
Bella noticed a group of five girls who seemed to be laughing and clearly talking about her and knew that was the popular group. As she sat down the teacher took the attendance she then called Bella up to the front of the room in a clear attempt to introduce her to the class.
"Listen up everyone we have a new student here this is Isabella Shepherd why don't you tell everyone about you and why you moved." The teacher Mr. Ferguson asked.
"Well my name is Isabella but I prefer to be called Bella, I transferred from manhattan preparatory school and I moved here with my dad and his girlfriend as they were both offered positions as the head of the neurosurgery and general surgery departments at Seattle Grace hospital. Other than that there really isn't much to say about my life." Bella said.
"Well that is certainly impressive I've never had student whose family are doctors they must be smart people does anyone have any questions for Bella?" Mr. Ferguson asked.
"So, Bella tell us is those authentic clothes and is the car you drove to school your car or your parent's car?" One of the popular girls asked.
"My clothes are very much authentic and yes the car I drove is mine. My parents have their own cars. Why? Are you jealous or something?" Bella asked.
The girl didn't ask anymore question but instead began whispering to her friends. Bella and John took seats at the right front row closest to the exit if they needed it.
Mr. Ferguson was giving his yearly lecture of what his class expectations were, even though John paid zero attention to any of it. He was too focused on why he and his mother had to run again.
John was so caught up in his deep thoughts, that he didn't even notice a girl enter the class and take a seat directly next to his right.
After a moment, the girl decided to lean over her desk, and ask something when she noticed John staring off into space, at his textbook.
"What's your name?" She asked.
John broke out of his thoughts yet, when he heard a soft voice and glanced to his right to find a girl he had not even noticed, stared at him with a bright smile. John's tongue was tied for a moment. He was so caught up in her beauty, that he didn't know what to say.
"John." He finally managed to say.
"Cameron." She introduced with a smile. John smiled back at her for so long that he didn't even know that he was staring. It took the teacher to raise his voice in order for him to concentrate once more.
"And no talking when I'm talking." Mr. Ferguson interrupted.
Everyone in the entire class bursted into laughter, at the teacher's sarcasm. Bella smirked. John blushed with embarrassment, and hid his face in his textbook. Cameron stared at everyone, not seeming to be affected by the students picking on her and John.
'They would be a cute couple.' Bella thought.
~Hallway~
"John?" Cameron asked.
Slowing down his pace looking over his shoulder as he sees Cameron quickly making it to his side to smile towards him returning the smile slowly John turns his head back forward.
"I haven't seen you around here before. Did you just move here?" Cameron asked.
Glancing back over towards Cameron seeing her tucking a loose piece of her hair behind her ear feeling his smile widening slowly John nods his head before he turns his head back forward to glance around the lockers looking for his assigned locker.
"Yeah, with my mom actually." John said.
"Really? Sucks for you." Cameron said.
Unable to suppress it as he lets out a chuckle to only hear Cameron giggling by his side stopping at his assigned locker grabbing a hold of the lock slowly John starts to undo the lock as he glances up to see Cameron leaning up against a nearby locker smiling down towards him.
"So what does she do?" She asked.
"Huh?" He asked.
Hearing her letting out a giggle that sounds so angelic to him feeling a smile forming across his face slowly John watches Cameron shake her head.
"Your mom. What does she do for work?" She asked.
"Honestly, I have no idea." John said.
"She did say that she was a waitress once." Bella said.
Suddenly as they hear Cameron bursting out laughing, unable to help himself letting out a chuckle, John watches her shake her head as a wide smile comes across her face.
"Oh come on. She must be important if she had to move you guys here for her job. I bet she now works for some big time company."
Keeping his eyes focused on his lock, shrugging his shoulders glancing up as he sees Cameron rolling her eyes despite the smile that is across her face returning the smile with a tug, John pops the lock off and opens up his locker to place his new books inside.
"What about you? What do your parents do?" John asked.
"I don't have parents anymore. I was living on my own ever since they died a few months ago." Cameron said.
Glancing over towards Cameron seeing her looking down towards the ground instantly feeling his smile disappearing reaching out gently John lays his hand down on her shoulder causing her to look up towards him.
"I'm sorry. I..." John says.
Shaking her head, feeling her lips curling up into a smile reaching up gently, Cameron lays her hand down on John's own.
"It's okay. You couldn't have known. We only just met. Besides, it's in the past now." Cameron said.
Returning the smile feeling her hand leaving his own reaching out John closes his locker with a thud before slowly without taking his eyes away from Cameron for not even one second he starts to make his way down the hallway with her following closely by his side.
"I recently just moved here myself. Can I see your class schedules? It would be nice to have a couple of classes with someone that I know." Cameron asked.
Nodding their heads reaching back, John and Bella retrieve small slips of paper from their back pockets and gently hand them over to a smiling Cameron before suddenly after a couple of seconds he watches her smile widen even more.
"Well isn't this a pleasant surprise." Cameron said.
Glancing to her side seeing John looking at her with a curious look reaching into her jeans pocket slowly Cameron extends an almost identical sheet of paper towards John to feel him gently take the paper in his hand.
Looking down towards the class schedule as he looks down the paper to see an almost perfect copy of his own exact for one different class in the middle of the day glancing back up, John sees a wide smile across Cameron's face.
"I guess you're stuck with me." She said.
Feeling a smile breaking across his face nodding his head reaching out gently John exchanges class schedules with Cameron and tucks his own away in his pocket as he sees her doing the same.
"And who says that's a bad thing?" John asked.
Nodding her head slightly, feeling her smile only widening, reaching out gently, taking his hand within her own, turning on her heels with a gentle tug slowly Cameron leads John down the hallway in the direction of their next class.
~Lunchtime~
Bella took her purse out and went to buy her lunch from the cafeteria but as she bought the food someone walked up behind her and pushed her from behind causing Bella to fall on top of her food as everyone saw this they began laughing at her. Bella picked herself up and turned around to confront the person only to realize it was the same girl who asked her the question this morning.
"What did you do that for?" Bella asked.
"Well my name is McKenna and I did it because I could, oh and get used to seeing me. I'm the most popular girl at school and girls like you don't belong here." McKenna said.
"You know jealousy will only turn you evil. Is that what you want?" Bella asked and McKenna tried to punch her but she caught it with her hand.
"That's what I thought. Also you should get used to me being here too. If you'll excuse me." Bella said as she went to get a new lunch.
~After school~
"John, come with me, please? I need to talk to you..." Cameron pleaded and batted her eyelashes.
"So, where to?" John asked the girl who smiled.
"Anywhere you want, Johnny." Cameron attempted that far.
"How about a movie, Cam?" John added his own nickname.
John and Cameron went to see the 1992 movie Dracula while Bella observed them. They ordered a double cheeseburger, french fries, and a large soda each.
As they ate their meal. Cameron finally asked John one last thing.
"Could you please drive me home?" Cameron asked the teen who nodded.
"Well i guess, I don't have to ask you then if you met any pretty girls in school today?" Sarah said.
Instantly getting the reaction that she was looking for in John's face turning completely scarlet seeing movement out of the corner of her eye turning her head slightly Sarah watches as the brunette girl that was sitting next to her son slowly circles around the couch and extends a hand out towards her.
"Hello Mrs Reese. My name is Cameron Phillips. It's a pleasure to meet you." Cameron said.
Feeling an instant liking to the girl from how up front she is with a smile coming across her face reaching out gently Sarah takes Cameron's hand within her own and gives it a firm shake.
"The pleasure is all mine but please do me a favor and call me Sarah. Mrs Reese just makes me sound old." Sarah said.
"But mom? You are old." John said.
"True." Bella said.
Snapping her head to look at John with a small mock glare as she watches John raise up his hands in mock surrender feeling her lips curling up into a grin shaking her head gently Sarah lets go of Cameron's hand before she turns her sights back on her.
"So keeping my son out of trouble i hope?" Sarah asked.
"Of course. I asked if John wanted a study partner for home and here we are." Cameron said.
"Is that so?" Sarah asked.
Keeping her eyes locked on Sarah as she watches her turn to look at John with a stern look that she is desperately trying to cover up with a forced smile suppressing the urge to glare at her keeping the smile on her face slowly Cameron watches Sarah turn to look back towards her.
"So what have you learned so far?" Sarah asked.
"Well John knows his history quite well. He is almost a genius when it comes to computers. Although he does struggle a bit with math but it can be fixed easily with a little work. Oh and John has a crush on me. He just doesn't want to admit it." Cameron said.
"Is it really that obvious?" Bella asked.
Instantly as he watches the three females turn to look towards him with almost matching smiles across their faces feeling his cheeks burning up reaching out John covers his face with a nearby pillow causing him to hear them bursting out laughing.
Later Bella kept getting facebook messages. She opened the messages and saw that people had sent her videos of what happened at school.
They also starting writing nasty comments like "Who does she think she is?","I bet that ugly brat is just lying about her money." but the ones that bothered her the most were the death threats.
Bella decided to turn off her phone for a little bit but as she did another message popped up. This time it was photo of a group chat that called themselves the we hate Isabella Shepherd club.
The profile picture for the group was of Bella but it had been clearly defaced they had drawn images of penises on her face and most of the messages were disgusting sexual ones.
Bella had just arrived at her house and the facebook messages were endless. Meredith was engaged in a phone call and seemed preoccupied with the call while sitting in the front lounge which meant Bella could easily enter through the back door without being noticed by Meredith.
Bella walked around the back and quietly opened the door then walked upstairs. She changed clothes and did her homework fairly quickly but as she finished more messages popped up which seemed to be getting more nasty as she began reading them the door to her room opened and Meredith soon entered her room and sat on Bella's bed.
"Hey Bella I'm sorry I didn't say hi when you came in. I was dealing with some mess that my idiot interns made how was your first day of school did you like it?" Meredith asked.
"It's totally fine Mere and it was good until some bitch named McKenna tried to make a fool of me during lunch. Now most of the student body hates me even though I professionally handled it. Check out all the messages I've been getting." Bella explained and Meredith looked at the messages.
"That's horrible. Is there anyone on your side?" Meredith asked.
"Yes. There's John and his new crush named Cameron. How was your first day and why are you home early? I thought you weren't leaving till six." Bella said.
"Well that's good to hear and my first day was good my residents are decent my interns however are as stupid as they look, I mean they made the most stupid mistakes it was a joke but I suppose they aren't going to learn without making them but you should come to the hospital and help me teach them maybe they'll actually learn a thing or two from you also I left early because I finished all of my work and figured someone should greet you home." Meredith explained.
"Yeah I definitely have to come and help you teach them it's always fun seeing them get intimidated by the fact a teenager knows more than them." Bella said.
"Agreed." Meredith said and they talked for the rest of the day.
~The next day~
"Cameron? It's John. Ready to go?" John knocked on the door only for the cyber girl to open up.
"Yes. Morning Johnny. I was going to ask you something but..." Cameron told him while she was blushing and looking down. John understood what she was thinking.
"Cam, I know we just met yesterday, but to be honest, I never felt this free and happy before. Will you do me the honor of being my girlfriend?" John asked the pretty girl.
"Yes John!" Cameron said smiling.
It was all what John's mind could take before his body moved on his own and kissed the unsuspecting girl. As they parted, both gasping for air, Cameron smiled.
"That was my first!" Cameron told John who was now on the moon. Almost literally.
"It's about time you guys did that but we have to go." Bella said.
"She's right. I'll drive stud!" Cameron told John who could only nod.
As she drove, John was thinking only about how lucky he is to score a date with a sweet, pretty and seemingly kind girl.
When they reached the school a gang of people were surrounding Bella's car. She got out and fought them off as McKenna soon stepped in front of her. This time she held a can of paint and before Bella knew it she had pink paint splattered all over her.
"Paint? Seriously?" Bella asked as she went to the bathroom and changed clothes.
Once she thought she looked somewhat decent she left the bathroom and kept her head down hoping like hell they would leave her alone so she could go to class without any drama. Of course though things were not going to be that easy for Bella no they were at her locker and from the looks of things they were back for more.
"Hey everyone princess Isabella is back oh and look she's changed clothes I guess she didn't like the pink paint on her clothes I mean we can't have this rich princess wearing dirty clothes can we Bella." McKenna said.
"Just leave me alone. Haven't you done enough for one day?" Bella asked.
"Oh no Bella I haven't done enough for today I think I'll go in for more but as for your family do you seriously think they'll do anything, your stupid parents are nerdy doctors they'll be too busy to deal with your petty school problems." McKenna said.
At this point Bella didn't want to deal with them anymore she opened her locker to grab her books but as she did the photo she kept on her locker door of Bella, Derek, Meredith, Addison, and Daisy fell off she tried to grab the photo but of course McKenna got a hold of it before she could pick it up.
"What do we have here? Oh it looks like this a picture of your family. They must really love you unlike my abusive parents. It's a shame your mom didn't make a better-looking daughter though. Now what do I do with this photo everyone? Should I tear it up or deface it then tear it up?" McKenna asked.
At this point everyone egged McKenna on saying she should just shred the photo so with a wicked grin on her face McKenna tore the picture up into tiny pieces.
Bella picked up the torn pieces of the photo and put it back in her locker but as she did that McKenna picked up her exercise book and began repeatedly hitting Bella with it.
Bella closed her locker and tried walking to class only this time one of McKenna's friends Jordan kicked her from behind causing Bella's lip to start bleeding again it also caused another bruise on her forehead but when she got up this time they let her go to class without hurting her anymore.
"Cameron." John blurted out, quickly gaining her attention as she jolted her head, and met his gaze. She didn't say anything and just sat there in silence, letting him speak. "I lied yesterday, about my father. He doesn't sell insurance, because he's... he's dead."
"I'm sorry." Cameron said apologetically.
"Don't be. He died before I was born so I didn't even know him." John sighed, trying to keep himself from being too emotional. "And my mom, she's kinda uptight. Actually she's very uptight. She wants me to come home after school and hang out with her. I'm all that she's got."
The both of them just stared at each other for the longest of moments before a smile formed on Cameron's face. "Thank you for explaining. It will be our little secret."
John couldn't help but smile in happiness. So far his assumption that Cameron was going to ignore him even more, possibly even move on and make other friends; she was accepting of him. His apology to lying to her, and coming out with it before it ever got out of hand. Maybe she did like him? She was so eager to forgive him after all.
Suddenly the bell rang, and every student quickly rushed to their seats, where they all eyed the door, waiting for the teacher to enter. If anything taught them, it was that obeying a teacher was key if they wanted to avoid lunch detention. John and Cameron also started at the doorway, not saying anything as they expected Mr. Ferguson to enter at any moment.
But after a couple of minutes had passed, there was no appearance from Mr. Ferguson. Everyone looked around in confusion. He was usually always in class before the bell even rang, not to mention being a few minutes late. Some students began whispering to one another, with some beginning to make small theories as to where their chemistry teacher was right now.
The student's attention was immediately caught when a man entered the classroom. "Hello class. Mr. Ferguson is ill today. My name is Cromartie." He said.
"Is that your only name, like Madonna?" One of the female students asked sarcastically.
"Madonna? Why? No." Cromartie said as everyone except John, Cameron and Bella laughed.
"Let's take attendance shall we? Marie Booeye?" Cromartie asked as he took a seat in the teacher's chair.
"Here." The sassy teenage girl answered with timidness.
Cromartie looked back down at his sheet and continued. "Donald Chase?"
"Here!" A student in the back row acknowledged.
"Franklin Lane?"
"Here."
"Cynthia Nolan?"
"Here!" a student from the front left row called out.
"Wayne Parker?"
"Here!"
"Cameron Phillips?" Cromartie then read aloud. He began grabbing a knife from the desk, and sliced his leg. He then proceeded to slowly take out a handgun. "Cameron?" he repeated, not having heard her confirm her presence.
"Here..." Cameron muttered while slouched in her desk.
"Reese? Do we have a John and Bella Reese?" Cromartie then read, scanning the room.
Cameron looked over at John, who in turn looked at her. He noticed her concerned look, and wondered what it meant. But when he heard the teacher call his name, he knew he had to answer, otherwise he would risk being counted tardy; thus getting in extreme trouble with his mother. "Here." John and Bella reluctantly raised their hands, signaling that they were indeed present.
Cromartie tilted his head, taking a long moment to analyze John's facial features, until he came up with a rough estimation of his future self. It was in fact him. His target. "Excellent."
He stood up, and raised his gun, firing off two shots.
Immediately, everyone dove for cover, with desks overturning, and teenagers screaming in absolute fear and dismay. Cameron instantly jumped into action, standing up from her desk just as John had dove behind her, unintentionally, in an attempt to avoid the gunfire. But before she could make a single move, her infiltrator settings had taken immediate effect as she was met with a hail of bullets going into her chest. The force caused her to stumble and fall to the ground.
On his hands and knees, John started to quickly back up as his world slowed down. He could only look at Cameron; whom he had become friends with, take a couple of bullets to the chest for him and die. He hated himself for it. Everybody seemed to die because they either loved him or just knew him. He hated it, and now it was happening all over again.
But there was no time to be beating himself up over it. When he was alive and alone, he could grieve for his friend. When he could get to his mother, and get the hell out of this hick town.
John quickly got onto his feet and started running with all of his might down the aisle, to the back of the classroom; with his destination of escape being the door. However, when he heard another thunderclap ring throughout the classroom, he suddenly stopped from doing so when a bullet had hit the door, causing wood chips to explode from it, scaring him.
John turned to his right and saw Bella with his plan B, being a window across the room. Taking whatever little time they had, they ran to it, and jumped through the pane, using their whole bodies to break the glass.
Cromartie maneuvered around the desks, still firing at his target, until he lost him when he had jumped through the window. He stalked up to the window to keep pursuing his target. As he was about to exit the window, he turned his head to the right and looked at the terrified students who were huddled in the corner, fearing that they were in fact next in line to be shot. However, what came out of the sadistic substitute's mouth was far more terrifying.
"Class dismissed." He said simply, then jumped out of the window.
"Oh my god!" Marie shouted out in horror. "He killed that new girl!" Everybody turned their attention to where Cameron was, but saw that she was not there anymore, or anywhere in the class for that fact. All there was left was a blood trail that led out of the door.
"She's a zombie!" Donald exclaimed in horror.
John ran. That was all that he knew. That is all that he could do. Now it was happening yet again. He was being targeted for termination by Skynet.
They have done the same damn thing and sent machine back in time to kill him before he rose up to become the leader of the Resistance. But how? He thought that he and his mother stopped it? The Terminator he befriended during those few days even said that it was over.
Did he not know that it would happen again somehow? He couldn't dwell on it too much right now, though. He had to focus on surviving. Later he could continue to question everything.
As he and Bella ran down the parking lot, John found a school bus parked outside and took cover behind it, just as Cromartie exited the window that he had smashed through. For a moment, he didn't have a visual on him which was convenient for John.
Right now he had the element of surprise, and could possibly use that to sneak away and find his mother. Unfortunately, however, his curiosity got the best of him, as he decided to peek around the corner of the bus, only to be met with a gunshot ricocheting off of the side view mirror, barely missing him.
John continued to run as fast as he could down the side of the bus, with the terminator firing under the bus, trying to disable John at his feet. Luckily all shots were missed, and he was still mobile.
Cromartie climbed on top of the bus, and had an aerial, overhead view of the whole parking lot. He did several scans in multiple views of vision, ranging from thermal; to infrared.
Trying to get away, John began to crawl on his hands and knees, while trying to avoid detection from the terminator. When he had rounded one of the vehicles, going to the next, he accidentally came face to face with Cromartie who was staring at him with intent, and aiming the gun at him.
Cromartie performed a facial recognition analysis on John and Bella's faces and confirmed that it was indeed them. Now it was time to terminate them. They won.
But he was suddenly interrupted when a large moving object came out of nowhere, and crashed into his side with such great force, that he was sent flying down three rows of cars, and slammed into a red coupe.
John was too shocked to do anything, let alone process what just happened. His mind was racing so fast, trying to figure out what had just happened in such a short amount of time.
The large vehicle revealed itself to be a pickup truck, as it backed up from ramming into the terminator, and the door flung open, revealing a slightly familiar face. "Cameron?" John asked.
"Come with me if you want to live!" She highly suggested.
John and Bella didn't need to be told twice. They got up onto their feet and rushed inside the vehicle, and closing the door.
John curiously glanced at Cameron's chest and saw that there was indeed bullet holes that were still bleeding and staining her pink buttoned up shirt. He then looked up from the wounds and up to Cameron's face where her face was a blank expressionless mask.
"You're a machine?" John asked.
"Yes. I was sent back here to protect you." Cameron explained, not taking her gaze off the window.
"I knew it." Bella said.
"How is this possible? I don't understand. We stopped Judgment Day." John said.
"You didn't stop Judgment Day. You only postponed it." Cameron explained.
"I'll explain everything to you later but first we need to get your mother and leave this town immediately." Cameron said giving John's shoulder a gentle squeeze.
Seeing their destination fast approaching on her left bringing the truck's speed down to almost non existent slowly creeping up towards the end of the driveway instantly Cameron steps down hard on the breaks and puts the gear into park.
Glancing around the surroundings seeing nothing out of the ordinary in front of her despite what she is feeling inside turning the ignition off with a flick of her wrist making sure to leave the keys still inside of the keyhole feeling a pair of eyes watching her turning in her seat to look back reaching down slowly Cameron grabs a hold of a sweatshirt and throws it on before in a sudden move reaching back she grabs a hold of a hidden handgun from the underneath of her seat and cocks back the barrel.
"Please stay here. I have a bad feeling about this." Cameron said.
Without having a chance to respond instantly John's eyes widen slightly when he sees Cameron exiting out of the truck not even bothering to close her door before slowly he watches her as though she was a predator stalking her prey make her way silently towards the front door keeping the firearm in her hand concealed inside of her sweatshirt pocket.
Keeping her eyes constantly glancing around her surroundings looking for even the slightest of movement coming from the house not finding any reaching out to grasp the doorknob as she silently turns the knob to find the door open letting go of her firearm reaching up Cameron flips up the hood of her sweatshirt causing her face to be completely covered before without any hesitation as she returns her hand back into the sweatshirt with a flick of her wrist slowly she quietly enters into the house making sure to close the door behind her.
Grasping her firearm tightly within her hand taking a silent step forward instantly as she hears the silentest of mumbles coming from the living room area of the house with her grip on her firearm only tightening slowly Cameron takes a step forward as her eyes suddenly turn blue.
"John?" Cromartie asked.
Coming to a stop before the corner just in front of the open doorway leading into the living room retrieving her firearm out of her sweatshirt pocket tilting her head slightly slowly Cameron kneels down next to the wall making sure to bring her firearm up into a quick shooting motion.
"Mom? Are you okay?" Cameron asked.
Fighting against the metal hand grasped in front of her mouth making it almost impossible for her to breathe with her eyes only widening Sarah can't help but shake her head as she smashes her hands down onto the terminator's wrist not feeling it even budging in the least from her efforts.
"Mom!? Are you okay? Where are you?" Cameron asked.
Feeling her eyes burning up instantly as she sees a hooded figure making their way around the corner instantly without having a chance to react Sarah can only watch in horror as the terminator's hand leaves her face in lighting fast speed to only deliver a well placed round one after another from his firearm directly into the chest of the hooded figure causing them to go down back first with a thud.
"John! No! John!" Sarah said.
Racing past the terminator only to be roughly forced back to the ground from where she once came feeling her breath being hitched at the sight before her unable to move from her spot just as she sees the terminator kneeling down next to the hooded body to only flip them over instantly Sarah's eyes go as wide as saucers as she stumbles back into the foot of the chair behind her.
Unable to suppress the grin from coming across her face instantly Cameron locks eyes with the very same terminator that she had encountered back at the school just a mere hour ago as she watches it tilt its head at her.
"Neat trick. You like?" Cameron asked.
In a sudden motion snapping her firearm up below his chin instantly Cameron sends round after round into Cromartie's head causing loud clangs to echo with every single shot before after a matter of seconds hearing the clip going drying quickly repositioning her legs underneath him rearing back she sends her feet crashing into his chest causing the terminator to go soaring through the air and into the small kitchen counter completely shattering it into pieces.
Snapping up to her feet discarding her firearm over her shoulder with her eyes locked onto the rising terminator stalking her way forward through the wreckage just as she feels him reaching up to grab a tight hold of her sweatshirt in a sudden motion leaping up Cameron rests her knee down on his shoulder before rearing back she sends vicious punch one after another down onto his exposed head causing more and more of his living tissue to be torn off leaving a clear view of metal to be seen.
Feeling his grip only tightening just as she feels him rearing back intending to send her through the air in a sudden move just as she feels his hands leaving her sweatshirt reaching out quickly Cameron wraps her arm around the back of his head before using all the momentum that he had given her in a swift move Cameron sends Cromartie flying over her shoulder and through a small wooden railing leading down into the basement.
Stalking her way forward suddenly as she hears the familiar sound of a gun being cocked glancing over to her side finding Sarah pointing a shotgun at her returning her head back forward slowly Cameron continues her way towards the wreckage leading downstairs.
"John and Bella are safe. They're out in the truck. I'll join you shortly."
Racing out of the house as though her life depended on it suddenly as she sees a familiar sight waiting outside of a parked truck that only makes her heart skip a beat quickly closing the distance between them reaching out Sarah brings John and Bella into a quick embrace feeling them only returning it tenfold before she quickly breaks it off to stare into their eyes with her facial features only hardening.
"Next time you do what you're trained to do. You run." Sarah said.
Letting go of her son and daughter without a second's hesitation racing around the truck to get into the driver's seat reaching out Sarah grabs a firm hold of the keys before with a flick of her wrist she brings the truck roaring to life.
"Wait!? Where's Cameron!?" John asked.
"We've got to go now!" Sarah said.
"No! I'm not leaving her!" John said.
Reaching quickly over to grab a hold of his shirt with a rough tug instantly Sarah brings John into the truck and turns her attention back towards the road before just as she reaches to take the truck out of park suddenly her facial features harden drastically when she feels his hand roughly grabbing her own forcing her hand away.
Snapping her head to the side in a sudden move reaching out Sarah grabs a tight hold of John's shirt and tugs him towards her to where only a few inches separates them.
"John! Listen to me. She's not real. Everything that you and her have been through has been nothing but a lie! She's one of them! They have no emotions. She doesn't know love." Sarah said.
Pushing him back into his seat snapping her head back forward instantly grabbing a hold of the stick taking the truck out of park and into drive unaware to her knowledge just by her side John's eyes go as wide as saucers before he leans his head out the window.
"Hey! You don't know that! She's obviously different from the rest of them so leave him alone!" Bella said and in anger Sarah slapped her.
"Hey! You're gonna pay for that!" Bella said.
"Cameron!" John said.
Hearing the distress coming from a voice she had never wished to hear it from with her eyes only widening racing through the house and out the open front door instantly as she sees the truck taking off at high speed quickly racing after the truck after a few seconds of closing the distance between them just to enough where she could graze the back of the tailgate rearing back instantly Cameron leaps up into the air and lands down into the back of the truck with a perfectly timed jump.
Rising up to her feet making sure to keep herself perfectly balanced despite the truck's interests seeing a relieved face coming from the passenger in the front seat feeling her lips tugging upward slowly making her way across to the front of the truck as she sees John opening up his door in a sudden move Cameron maneuvers around the truck to land down in the passenger's seat causing John to get sandwiched between her and Sarah.
"You alright?" John asked.
Feeling her face breaking out into a small smile nodding her head reaching out gently Cameron lays her hand down on John's own that doesn't go unnoticed by the driver.
"I'm fine. I'll be much better later. I'm dying to have a shower after all of this." Cameron said.
Instantly as he sees Cameron reaching up and start to brush away at her dust covered hair causing a small cloud to form in front of her feeling his lips tugging upward just as he opens his mouth hearing the sound of a throat being cleared snapping his head to his other side John's eyes widen when he sees his mother glaring over in Cameron's direction with an almost hateful look.
A look that he had once seen before in her eyes. But this time it was different. This time there was something else behind it. Something he couldn't figure out.
"Did you stop him?" Sarah asked.
"120 seconds and the system reboots, I was sent here to protect John and Bella." Cameron said flatly, the road blurring out behind her and making it hard to keep eye contact.
"Not now. Not yet," Sarah cut her off, eyes back to the road and gripping the wheel so that her knuckles were turning white.
~Later~
Adjusting the light in front of him to get a clear shot at her exposed back seeing her back blood stained with blood still trickling out slowly from her gunshot wounds. John gently presses the ends of the pliers into a bullet wound causing to his shock him to hear Cameron letting out a small hiss.
"You okay Cam?" John asked.
"I'm fine. Just give me a second." Cameron said.
"Can you actually feel those?" Bella asked.
"Yes. Just not during combat and time travel." Cameron said.
"You might want to put those back in the holster." Sarah said.
"Oh." Cameron said looking around.
"We should be good for two more hours. Hit the border at lunchtime. What year are you from?" Sarah asked.
"2027." Cameron said.
"How long have you been looking for us?" John asked.
"73 days." Cameron said.
"And the war?" Bella asked.
"The Skynet missile defense system goes online April 19th, 2011. Declares war on mankind and triggers a nuclear apocalypse two days later." Cameron said.
"And Miles Dyson?" Sarah asked.
"Someone else builds Skynet. Before you ask, we don't know who does it." Cameron said.
"You don't know who builds the computer that blows up the world?" Sarah asked.
"I wasn't sent here for that. Trust me if i knew who did it I would've taken care of it a long time ago." Cameron said.
"No you were sent here to keep my son and daughter from being assassinated." Sarah said.
"Yes and no. I'm here not only to prevent them from ever being hurt but also in hopes of ensuring a better future. And you need to be more careful in the future." Cameron said.
"Excuse me?" Sarah asked.
"You heard me. Your fiance went to the police. You should've changed your alias." Cameron said.
"Go to hell." Sarah said.
"They'd have found you anyway. They always do." Cameron said.
Later they arrived at a gas station and Cameron was pumping gas into the truck.
"I'm sorry." Cameron said laying her hand down on John's shoulder feeling him tense at her touch for a brief second before she feels him relaxing under her touch.
"It's okay. I get it. You needed to get close to me. It's just the way you're programmed. Like some hot girl was going to really try to make friends with the new weird kid. If i really thought about it, I would have known something was messed up from the beginning. I just... Forget it. It's my fault for believing." John said.
"You're wrong you know. I know what you're thinking. You've been trained all of your life to think of certain things one way. I'm asking you right now to put all of that to the side and trust your heart and not just your head. Can you do that for me?" Cameron asked.
"Yeah. I can do that." John said.
"I know this is gonna be hard for you to believe after everything you've been through. But know this. Everything that you have seen is real. This is the real me standing before you and not just some infiltration program. I would never do that to you. Despite what Sarah might think." Cameron said.
"So this means you have a logical terminator side and an emotional human side. Correct?" Bella asked getting out of the car.
"Exactly." Cameron said.
"What model are you? Are you new? You seem different." John said.
Keeping her eyes locked on his own feeling her smile only widening reaching over gently Cameron retrieves a chip out from the bag in his hand.
"I am." Cameron said retrieving a chip out from the bag in John's hand and eating it.
"You know I was made to infiltrate your main camp disguised as a girl from your inner circle who asked me the exact same question about me once." Cameron said.
"Who is she?" John asked.
"I don't know." Cameron said.
"You don't know?" Bella questioned.
"When they reprogram us, they scrub our memories." Cameron shrugged.
"But you still know the basics?" Bella asked.
"Yes. I was supposed to terminate you guys when the opportunity presented itself." Cameron said.
"Why didn't you?" John asked.
"My chip was set to permanent read-write mode when I was first activated which allowed me to override the order." Cameron said.
"Cool." Bella said but then got a distress call on her phone.
Listen carefully, okay? We don't have a lot of time. It started three years ago. The World Internet Federation reported the appearance of an aggressive new computer worm- The Venjix Virus.
A year later, it was estimated that Venjix had already infected 37% of the world's computer systems. By then, it was too late.
Venjix took control of the world's communications, power, and defense systems. It built armies of advanced robotic soldiers that laid waste to everything in their path. There was no stopping them and Venjix declared victory.
"I AM VENJIX! YOUR WORLD IS MY WORLD AND YOUR TIME IS NOW OVER!" Venjix said.
But it's not over- Not yet.
If you can hear my voice, please go now to the domed city of Corinth. It is the only place we can be safe. But you have to make it inside the city walls before the defence shield is activated.
Please... Hurry
The domed city of Corinth is surrounded by jets and battles going on.
A truck filled with survivors pulls up to the entrance of the dome, dodging lasers being fired at them.
"Hurry up! Let's go!" A soldier said to the people he was helping out of the truck.
A man known as Colonel Truman stands next to his vehicle looking at the battle as the flames of a small explosion reflect off of his sunglasses.
"Colonel Truman! Colonel Truman!" A soldier known as Hicks calls for his boss.
"Easy son." Colonel Truman stops him from continuing. "Get yourself together and give me a proper report."
"Yes, sir." Hicks informed. "They've broken through the west corridor into zone delta, sir. We can't hold them off."
Colonel Truman takes off his glasses and looks to Hicks with an extra serious expression. "Eagle Squad?" was all he said.
The Soldier shook his head "We lost contact with them a while ago sir." he reported sadly.
He knew that the squad had the colonel's two sons in it and being the bearer of bad news wasn't an easy task. "Sir?" he questioned when the older man did not answer.
"Go shoot at something." the Colonel ordered dismissing the soldier.
"Sir yes sir." The soldier responded as he turned away. Colonel Truman looked on to the battle once again.
A young 19 year old Scottish man named Flynn McAllister is driving a bus filled with injured and non injured survivors into the domed city.
"Hang on, folks," Flynn tells the people as he stops the bus after driving at a fast pace for a while.
Flynn picks up the upper body of the soldiers Venjix created called Grinders.
"You no-good pile of worthless crap!" Flynn yells as he tosses it out of the bus.
Flynn notices a woman in her thirties walk up to the bus and he turns to the little girl sitting in the closest seat to the door.
"Oh, hi. This will be your stop little lass," Flynn said, picking up the little girl and handing her to her mother.
"Thank you," the woman said, desperately clutching her daughter to her and walking away.
"You're most welcome," he replied back in his Scottish accent.
"You!" a voice yelled and he turned back around to see the leader of Corinth behind him.
"What are you doing behind the wheel of one of our transport buses?" Colonel Truman asked, aggravated a little.
"I would be driving it...What else would I be doing?" Flynn asked in his Scottish tone smartly.
"And you made it through the entire Venjix army in one piece?" Colonel Truman asked skeptically.
"Aye." Flynn replied back before they heard the grill on the front of the bus fall off.
"Well...Maybe a few pieces but you know. We made it." Flynn said, rethinking that.
There were more explosions heard and Colonel Truman said, "You better get these people out of here."
"Aye. I'll get myself out too if you don't mind." Flynn said, going back inside the bus. "Alright. Next stop, Corinth Square."
Colonel Truman saw the grinders closing in and he turned around and ran for the gate into Corinth yelling.
"Fall back! Everybody inside the city walls now!" Colonel Truman ordered.
"Stand by to raise the city shields!" Colonel Truman said once people were inside.
"But sir, your son. He's still-" Hicks tried to tell him.
"On my signal!" Colonel Truman demanded, stopping him mid-sentence.
"Fall back!" a soldier yelled, leading a group of people away from the city walls that would soon be up.
The Colonel saw the grinders and said, "Seal all city gates...Raise the shields!"
"Seal all city gates!" Hicks ordered into a walkie talkie.
All the gates were sealing when Corporal Hicks noticed a girl on a yellow dirt bike with a guy in pilot gear on the back approaching the gates at a high speed.
"Sir!" Hicks alerted his boss and Colonel Truman turned back to look.
The dome closed and the shield projected a normal clear blue sky with clouds.
"Secure the area!" a soldier ordered some others.
The two on the bike got up and took off their helmets to reveal Scott Truman and Summer Landsdown.
"See. I told you," Summer said, smiling towards her new friend. Scott chuckles at her.
"Eagle 2," Colonel Truman calls for his son as he approaches.
"Eagle 2...Report," Colonel Truman orders his son. "Where is Eagle 1?"
"Eagle 1 is down sir," Scott says, trying not to cry. "He's gone."
For a second, it's nothing but silence until Colonel Truman breaks it.
"Dismissed," Colonel Truman dismisses his son quietly.
"Oh, but Dad-" Scott starts to say to his dad.
"I said 'Dismissed'," Colonel Truman raises his voice at Scott then leaves.
Scott has a hurt look on his face at the way his father spoke to him, but understood. But his dad needed to understand he was in pain too.
"Come here...Let me take a look at that arm," Summer says as she leads Scott to a medical tent.
Colonel Truman watches his only child walk with the blonde girl to the medical tent.
"Sir...Do you suppose?..." Hicks says trying to find the right words. "I mean, what if there are more people still out there, sir?"
"Then Heaven help them...because we can't." Colonel Truman said regretfully.
~Somewhere outside the dome~
Bella was just wandering aimlessly in the sand after running, and running, and running searching for help but it appeared none would come. She looked at her attire and made an attempt at lighting the mood.
"Why the hell did the world end when I was wearing a skirt and high heels?" Bella asked.
She then saw some grinders heading toward her and her eyebrow twitched furiously.
"Oh, fantastic." Bella said her voice laced with sarcasm.
With a heavy sigh she charged at the grinders, throwing punches and kicks and finished them with some flips.
She gave herself a small smile at her accomplishment when she was done but grew tired and just as she was feeling like she was going to pass out she heard a car approach and stop and felt someone grab her before everything went black.
When she woke up she felt a tight strap against her body and she started to panic and fight against it thinking she was being kidnapped before someone touched her and spoke in a gentle voice.
"Whoa, calm down. It's alright. I am not going to hurt you." The guy said as she stopped struggling and took a deep breath.
"Sorry...um...how long was I out for?" Bella asked.
"A couple of hours. Here." The guy said giving her a water bottle. She took it and drank slowly nearly draining the bottle.
"Thanks." Bella said.
"No problem." The guy said.
"My name's Bella Connor-Shepherd, just Bella though." She said giving him a smile.
"So, what can I call you?" Bella asked.
"Dillon." Dillon responded humbly while still looking forward.
"No last name?" She asked.
"I don't know." He told her.
"Oh, I'm sorry." She said genuinely.
"Why?" He asked her.
"Well I assumed that amnesia might be what you're dealing with." She said and he nodded.
"Do you have any memories?" Bella asked.
"No, not really. Only that I made a promise to help someone." Dillon said.
"To forget that fucking much you must have gone through quite a shit storm." She remarked and he raised his eyebrows.
"Gah, sorry. My family had some really colorful vocabulary." She rubbed her temple.
"Don't worry about it." Dillon shook his head and Bella drifted off and slept.
When she woke up the next morning, she looked over and saw Dillon still as awake as ever. She was stunned that he went all night driving but decided not to ask. Still she remained cautiously optimistic, Dillon was driving like a maniac and Bella could only wonder if he actually knew how to reach Corinth.
"Good, you're awake, now I can stop." He said.
"Why?" she wondered.
"Well figure it'd be best to stretch our legs, and the toxic level in the air here is low." He said.
They both hopped out of the car and spotted a small daisy in their path. Dillon got a bottle or water, took a sip and gave it to Bella.
Once she to took a sip, she passed it back to him only for Dillon to crouch down and give the rest of the water to the flower.
She had a small smile at this random act of kindness and saw him pull out a watch.
"What are you?" Bella asked.
"I'm a human-vampire hybrid although I don't remember how but don't tell anyone. I think I have something else in me but I don't know what." Dillon said when suddenly someone came up behind him and held something to his back.
"Hold it right there!" The person said. "Eyes front. Keep your hands up...hands up where I can see them!"
"Okay, now my friends. We can do this the easy way or the hard way." The person said trying to be smart. "I'm gonna count..."
"No." Dillon said cutting the guy off.
"Wait...What 'no'? How can you say no?" The guy asked in shock.
Dillon and Bella shared a look rolling their eyes as the guy spoke.
"I-I-I haven't even told you my demands yet...Now you've made me lose my train of thought." The guy said.
"You want to start over?" Dillon said to Bella's amusement.
"No...No! We'll just-" the guy said, trying to find the right words. "Let's just keep going. Uh, I need to take your car. Well, let's say 'borrow'. I-I need to borrow your car, okay?"
Dillon and Bella chuckle.
"And those are your demands, huh?" Bella asked chuckling.
"Yeah, yeah...non-negotiable." The guy said.
"Can I say something now?" Dillon asked.
"Sure." The guy said.
"No!" Dillon said to the guy's supposed demands.
"Okay, that's fine...You know, see, I wasn't going to bring this up because, uh, it's kind of rude but I'm the one holding the blaster here." the guy started off being what he thought was smart. "Plus, I'm a desperate and dangerous-"
"You're not holding a blaster." Dillon said and Bella nodded, agreeing with him.
"I think I am. What else would it be?" The guy questioned.
"It feels like a 4 ½ inch out take muffler, kind of like the one you might have pulled off that rig over there." Bella said with a slight smirk on her face nodding her head in the direction of the rig.
"Maybe...I mean...that's an interesting theory... But...a smart guy like me, he might disguise his blaster." The guy said.
As he was saying that, Dillon swung around and broke the top part of the muffler with his hand and Bella took it to point at him.
"You point a gun at someone, you'd better be ready to pull the trigger." Bella said.
"Wait! Okay, not the face. Not the face, alright?" The guy freaked out.
Bella grabbed the guy's bag while Dillon asked him if he had any food or gas but Bella didn't see any, so she handed the bag to Dillon who looked through it again.
"Uh...No, no. That's some of the other stuff I was planning to 'borrow' from you," the guy said to Dillon, and in the bag Bella noticed her necklace that got from her last birthday and she thought she had around her neck so she must have dropped it.
Dillon took back the necklace and put it around Bella's neck. He then tossed the guy his bag back.
"Okay. Woah, woah! Where are you going? You can't leave me here!" The guy rushed as he held his bag, stopping Dillon from getting into the car and Bella sat in the front in the passenger seat.
"Corinth City, 71 degrees, 5 minutes." The radio said.
"Corinth? You two looking for Corinth?" The guy said knowingly with a smile.
"Ideally." Bella surmised.
"Well, lucky for you two, I can take you there." He said.
"Seriously. That's what you're going with. Look, if you really knew where Corinth was you'd probably be there right now." Bella said crossing her arms.
"Do me a favor, clear off. I already have her and one extra is my limit." Dillon said closing his door with Bella. Strangely she was flattered by this.
"No, wait." the man pleaded. "You can't leave me. Look i'm really from Corinth." he then handed them an ID card.
Dillon takes that card and looks at it then back at the guy.
"Ziggy?" Dillon asked him amused a bit. "Your name is Ziggy?"
"Yep, that's me." Ziggy said with a small smile on his face.
Bella looked between them with a smile on her face, mixed with a small smirk.
"What are you doing out here, Ziggy?" She asked him, moving over to the driver's seat and sticking her head out the window to look at said boy.
Ziggy laughs a bit. "You know, that's a long story. I'd be happy to tell you the whole thing on the way. Or maybe I could just get in and keep my mouth shut."
"Yes, the second one," Dillon said before getting in the car when Bella moved back over to the passenger seat and put her seat belt on.
Ziggy got in the back with his bag and we drove off towards Corinth.
Dillon drove on a deserted road on the way to Corinth.
"So, you still haven't told me your names yet." Ziggy said looking at the both of them.
"I don't know." Dillon trailed off.
"You don't know if you want to tell me your name?" Ziggy asked Dillon, unsure.
"I don't know my name." Dillon replied back to the curly haired guy in the back seat.
"What about you?" Ziggy asked turning his attention to Bella.
"My name's Bella Connor-Shepherd." She replied back smiling at him.
Ziggy looked at me for a second longer then turned back to Dillon.
"Well, where are you from? I mean, who are you, then?" Ziggy asked Dillon, wondering who he is exactly.
"I don't know." Dillon quickly replied, not wanting to talk.
"Ziggy, could you please give him some personal space?" Bella asked.
"Right, sorry." Ziggy said. It became silent again. Dillon took a quick glance at Bella through the mirror. She really was different than what he thought she would be. A good different. The silence was broken by Ziggy.
"Oh. Wait-wait-wait!" Ziggy shouted a bit.
The car swerved as it came to a screeching stop in the road.
Ziggy points to something for Dillon and Bella to see.
"See? Ziggy promises and Ziggy delivers. Corinth City." Ziggy said pointing to the domed city.
"Now. We probably want to pull off the road here and just wait until dark." Ziggy said, looking at his bag and stuff again.
"We can't stop." Bella said to him.
"What?" Ziggy exclaimed.
"We're running on fumes. If I kill the engine now, I may not be able to start it again." Dillon explained, saying it straight forward, looking at the gas tank and the other readings for a quick second.
"No, no, no. This has got to be a joke, right? Y-you're not serious?" Ziggy asked them starting to freak out.
Dillon just tunes him out and presses down on the gas and the car zooms forward.
"Okay, stop. T-time out. Look, we need a reality check. All right, let me spell it out for you. No one has ever run the barricade into the city during daylight. Understand, no one." Ziggy said still freaking out.
"Well, we're as close to no one as you're ever gonna meet." Dillon said.
"Okay, you know what. You can, uh-drop me off anywhere along here," Ziggy said, waiting for the car to stop. "Or here, or here...There! Aw, that spot would've been really good."
Ziggy then noticed a few grinders on bikes.
The grinders were still following them on the bikes.
"And they're right on top of us...They are right on top of us," Ziggy said, seeing the grinders approach them at a certain speed.
"Hand me that," Dillon demanded Ziggy, motioning towards one of the explosives they got from a few grinders a while back.
"What? What, this?" Ziggy asked him, holding up a wrench and then a screwdriver. "You mean this?"
Bella groaned and shook her head at Ziggy's rushing behavior.
"Can you be more specific?" Ziggy raised his voice a bit. "This. You mean this?"
"You do not mean this," Ziggy said in disbelief, holding up another 2 lemon lollipops and making Bella giggle. Dillon took one while Bella took the other.
"Okay," Ziggy said, trying not to breakdown.
"This isn't happening. I'm running the Venjix barricade in broad daylight with, uh, Willy Wonka at the wheel and Willy Wonka Jr. in the passenger seat," Ziggy said, not believing what he was saying.
The perimeter patrol was not letting up and shooting at them.
"Ugh! Oh!" Ziggy let out as the car jerked around, now being shot at with blasters.
"Okay! Okay!" Ziggy mumbled.
Bella grabbed one of the explosives off the floor of the car and handed it to Dillon.
Dillon, for some reason, stuck his lollipop to the explosive as it hummed before throwing it out the window at the grinders. They heard nothing but an explosion behind them.
Dillon and Bella started laughing and Ziggy just looked at them, scared a bit but not surprised.
"Remind me, uh, never to get on your bad sides." Ziggy said.
"Trust me. You're already there." Dillon told him.
"Okay, uh, close call," Ziggy started to say. "But I think we have enough time to uh, turn around and back up before we hit the-The Venjix Barricade!" Ziggy shouted, pointing at the system rising from the ground.
There was a group of grinders in front of us blasting us in the process. The car swerved as Dillon tried to navigate through the grinders while the car took some hits.
Ziggy laughed nervously. "We can still turn back...We can still turn back!...We can still turn back!"
Bella picked up another explosive and tossed it out the window at the grinder patrol.
Bella quickly turned back around as Dillon zoomed forward towards the barricade.
~In the Corinth City control center, safely inside the dome~
"Sir, we're picking up an incoming bio-signal. Outside the dome, sir." Hicks reported to his boss Colonel Truman.
Colonel Truman quickly got up and went over to the home system where one soldier, Vasquez, is working.
"Talk to me, Vasquez." the Colonel demanded quickly.
"A single vehicle driving straight through the middle of the Venjix barricade. Definitely human. Maybe one or three bio-fields." Vasquez said looking at the scanner.
"Well, which is it? One or three?" Colonel Truman asked her confused.
"The scan must be off, sir. It's reading 2 ½." Vasquez said looking confused at the readings.
The Colonel sighed and with a serious voice. He commanded Vasquez.
"Alert Dr. K."
~Venjix's Palace~
"Your most exalted Venjix, we have a human target approaching the city's barricades." General Shifter reported.
On the virtual monitor that popped up, they could see a black car speeding towards the barricade.
"We're gonna blow it to teeny, tiny bits right? Please!" General Crunch pleaded.
"Of course. I always enjoy a little target practice," Venjix said as the red light grew brighter.
~Wasteland~
Ziggy was telling a story of his but Bella was just silent, looking out the window while throwing an explosive at more grinders.
"I never learned how to play a musical instrument," Ziggy hummed as he ate one of the extra lollipops we had in the front of the car.
Dillon then threw another explosive out the window, hitting another grinder.
"Always wanted to, you know," Ziggy continued. "Who...Who knows? I could've been the greatest clarinet player in the world."
"Hand me more thermix charges," Dillon asked Ziggy, not listening to his story.
Ziggy goes to reach for one and accidentally turns it on and it starts beeping.
"That's not good, is it?" Ziggy asked nervously.
Dillon then swerves the car around a few grinders, still rushing towards the dome, and that causes Ziggy to drop the thermix charge.
"And that's gotta be worse." Ziggy says before reaching for the device.
"It's ok, Ziggy. Just hold on tight and let him drive. I got this." Bella said. She made her way to the door and opened it.
"What are you doing?!" Ziggy asked
"Just shut your eyes and think that you're on a rollercoaster. And Dillon, do not stop this car." Bella said. Dillon looked in the mirror. Bella's back was facing him.
"Call me Dillon." Dillon said.
"What?" Ziggy asked.
"My name, you can call me 'Dillon'." Dillon said.
"It's nice knowing you, Dillon and Bella." Ziggy said. Bella returned her focus to the barricade.
"Bella, now!" Dillon said. Bella didn't hesitate and threw the bomb. For a man she just met a day ago, she trusts him. "Hang on!" Dillon yelled.
Part of the barricade exploded wide enough so the car could get through the city gates, that were opened.
~The Corinth Control Center~
"They made it!" Vasquez said, turning to her boss with Hicks standing beside her.
Colonel Truman went to his monitor at his desk to talk to Dr. K.
"Dr. K," he greeted when the familiar 'K' popped up on the screen.
"Lower the shield and open the gate, please Colonel," the computerized voice came from the computer.
Colonel Truman sighed. "There's gonna be infiltration before we can get the shield back up."
"Understood. My team is on the way," the computerized voice replied.
Dillon drove through the opened gate and into the dome, leaving behind the last of the grinders.
Dillon stopped the car when it came to a stop with a swerve.
"I'm alive! We made it!" Ziggy exclaimed with a smile and it made Bella giggle a bit.
They then heard the familiar sound of the grinders and she groaned.
Bella looked out the window to see a group of grinders and a robot made by Venjix.
They started to approach the car, but three people blocked their way.
They had black leather jackets with respective colors and numbers on the back.
Red and 1 for Scott Truman.
Blue and 2 for Flynn McAllister.
Yellow and 3 for Summer Landsdown.
"READY!" they all yelled together.
"RPM! GET IN GEAR!"
Bella was in shock as they transformed into power rangers.
She saw the three of them take on the grinders and she heard Ziggy gasp so she and Dillon turned and looked at him strangely, so he turned back to watch the fight.
"Ohh!" Bella said as the guy in blue lands punches on a few grinders.
"Oh!" Ziggy and Bella said noticing the attack bot generation 5 start to approach.
Summer noticed the bot approach and she jumped onto the hood and shot at the attack bot, making him run away. She turned around and waved at them, then jumped off and joined the other three.
"You okay?" Scott asked her.
"Yeah!" she replied.
Then they ran to battle the attack bot.
They see them call their weapons from their bet and that got Ziggy excited for the battle.
"Now that's what I'm talking about. Go Rangers!" Ziggy shouted at the end.
"Wait, 'Go' what?" Dillon asked
"Rangers." Ziggy said
"Excuse me?" Bella asked. She didn't know who or what these 'Rangers' were.
