Go For The Green/Pilot

Next morning Bella drove back to Gran's house in a good mood. Upon walking in Bella's mouth watered at the smell of coffee and bacon hitting her nose.

"Well don't that smell good" Bella smiles as she made her way towards where Adele was cooking.

A quick kiss to her Gran's cheek, she flits her way to the coffee pot smiling when she saw that her favorite mug was right next to the machine and that there was just enough left for her.

"Breakfast will be ready in a bit," Adele informs over her shoulder and Bella lets out a hum in acknowledgment sipping on her coffee as she joins Sookie at the table who was watching the news with rapt attention.

"Demons." The reverend exclaimed, "Literally they  have no souls!"

Bella rolls her eyes, "Because being a crazy cult leader is so much better" she mocks.

Bella sips on her coffee as she watches Reverend Newlin and Nan Flanagan in amusement as they continue verbally sparring on live television. Bella had to admit watching the Reverends face turn redder then a tomato as he grew increasingly annoyed at Nan was better than reality TV.

"I will not speak to her directly, Sharon" The Reverend states.

"Why is that, Reverend Newlin?" Sharon, the news lady asks.

"My commitment to Christ Jesus, praise His name, compels next not to recognize her kind" He replies and this time Bella nearly spits out her coffee as she starts cackling.

"Oh Christ, this is just gold" Bella laughs, wishing she had some popcorn.

"You know these are serious matters" Sookie glares.

"Well Venjix is an even more serious matter." Bella said.

Before Sookie could respond, Adele walks back into the kitchen and Sookie turns off the TV making Juliette pout but that was soon turned to a smile when Adele placed some sausages in front of before walking away to grab the eggs.

"I don't think Jesus would mind if somebody was a vampire," Sookie comments.

"I don't either, honey" Adele responds, placing some eggs onto Sookie's plate before turning and placing double of she gave Sookie onto Bella's, who just dig right in with a happy moan.

"Mhm, is this sausage different from what you usually make?" Sookie asks.

"No." Adele shakes her head.

"Huh, it tastes so much more complex than it usually does," Sookie says taking another bite.

"Oh, dear, you think it's gone bad," Adele frowns.

"It's delicious" Sookie assures turning back to Adele, "It's like I can close my eyes and I can see the farm the pig lived on, and feel the sun and the rain on my face, and even taste the earth that the herbs grew out of."

During Sookie's little explanation she didn't realize Bella had stopped eating and was now giving her a weirded out glance.

"What?" Sookie asks when she finally sees the look on her sister's face.

Bella swallows the eggs in her mouth before replying, "You have issues," she deadpans.

"Oh like you can talk" Sookie scoffs.

"Hey, I never denied mine but seriously 'the earth that the herbs grew out of'?" Bella smirks, "What are you a fairy?"

"Oh, shut up."

The sound of the door opening halts the girls banter and they turn to see Tara walking in.

"Hey, Miss Stackhouse" Tara smiles, making her way over to the coffee machine and grabs a mug.

Adele knowing Bella had drunk the rest of the coffee, walks over, "Now you go sit down and I'll make a new pot," Adele states kissing Tara's forehead.

Tara lets out a giggle as she does what she's told but as soon as she sits down her happy demeanor melts away into her usual grumpy one.

"You look like shit," Bella states bluntly.

"I hate to admit it but she's right you look awful," Sookie agrees and Bella snaps her head towards Sookie, looking at her with wide eyes.

"What?" Sookie asks.

"Can you repeat what you said?" Bella asks.

"I said you were right," Sookie shrugs as if it was no big deal.

A big smile blooms on the girl's face, "Damn, right I am and make sure y'all remember it," She smirks before standing up to grab more sausages, leaving Sookie and Tara to shake their head at her antics.

Bella tunes out the girl's conversation as she happily munches on her food and drinks her coffee.

Later after arriving at their first hour class, Bella and her twin brother John took seats at the front right, front row, closest to the exit if they needed it. Their chemistry teacher, Mr. Ferguson was giving his yearly lecture of what his class expectations were, even though John paid zero attention to any of it. He was too focused on why he and his mother had to run. Why did they? He and his mother were normal for once. But now she was scared of something, and she wanted to run yet again. She never stopped to ask what he wanted.

John was so caught up in his deep thoughts, that he didn't even notice a girl enter the class and take a seat directly next to his right.

After a moment, the girl decided to lean over her desk, and ask something when she noticed John staring off into space, at his textbook.

"What's your name?" She asked.

John broke out of his thoughts yet, when he heard a soft voice and glanced to his right to find a girl he had not even noticed, stared at him with a bright smile. John's tongue was tied for a moment. He was so caught up in her beauty, that he didn't know what to say.

"J-John," he finally managed to say.

"Cameron," she introduced with a smile. John smiled back at her for so long that he didn't even know that he was staring. It took the teacher to raise his voice in order for him to concentrate once more.

"And no talking when I'm talking," Mr. Ferguson interrupted.

Everyone in the entire class bursted into laughter, at the teacher's sarcasm. Bella smirked. John blushed with embarrassment, and hid his face in his textbook. Cameron stared at everyone, not seeming to be affected by the students picking on her and John.

'They would be a cute couple. She must be a machine sent to protect us but from what?' Bella thought.

~Hallway~

"John?" Cameron asked.

Slowing down his pace looking over his shoulder as he sees Cameron quickly making it to his side to smile towards him returning the smile slowly John turns his head back forward.

"I haven't seen you around here before. Did you just move here?" Cameron asked.

Glancing back over towards Cameron seeing her tucking a loose piece of her hair behind her ear feeling his smile widening slowly John nods his head before he turns his head back forward to glance around the lockers looking for his assigned locker.

"Yeah, with my mom actually." John said.

"Really? Sucks for you." Cameron said.

Unable to suppress it as he lets out a chuckle to only hear Cameron giggling by his side stopping at his assigned locker grabbing a hold of the lock slowly John starts to undo the lock as he glances up to see Cameron leaning up against a nearby locker smiling down towards him.

"So what does she do?" She asked.

"Huh?" He asked.

Hearing her letting out a giggle that sounds so angelic to him feeling a smile forming across his face slowly John watches Cameron shake her head.

"Your mom. What does she do for work?" She asked.

"Honestly, I have no idea." John said.

"She did say that she was a waitress once." Bella said.

Suddenly as they hear Cameron bursting out laughing, unable to help himself letting out a chuckle, John watches her shake her head as a wide smile comes across her face.

"Oh come on. She must be important if she had to move you guys here for her job. I bet she now works for some big time company."

Keeping his eyes focused on his lock, shrugging his shoulders glancing up as he sees Cameron rolling her eyes despite the smile that is across her face returning the smile with a tug, John pops the lock off and opens up his locker to place his new books inside.

"What about you? What do your parents do?" John asked.

"I don't have any." Cameron said.

'Definitely a machine then' Bella thought.

Glancing over towards Cameron seeing her looking down towards the ground instantly feeling his smile disappearing reaching out gently John lays his hand down on her shoulder causing her to look up towards him.

"I'm sorry. I...." John says.

Shaking her head, feeling her lips curling up into a smile reaching up gently, Cameron lays her hand down on John's own.

"It's okay. You couldn't have known. We only just met. Besides, it's in the past now." Cameron said.

Returning the smile feeling her hand leaving his own reaching out John closes his locker with a thud before slowly without taking his eyes away from Cameron for not even one second he starts to make his way down the hallway with her following closely by his side.

"I recently just moved here myself. Can I see your class schedules? It would be nice to have a couple of classes with someone that I know." Cameron asked.

Nodding their heads reaching back, John and Bella retrieve small slips of paper from their back pockets and gently hand them over to a smiling Cameron before suddenly after a couple of seconds he watches her smile widen even more.

"Well isn't this a pleasant surprise." Cameron said.

Glancing to her side seeing John looking at her with a curious look reaching into her jeans pocket slowly Cameron extends an almost identical sheet of paper towards John to feel him gently take the paper in his hand.

Looking down towards the class schedule as he looks down the paper to see an almost perfect copy of his own exact for one different class in the middle of the day glancing back up, John sees a wide smile across Cameron's face.

"I guess you're stuck with me." She said.

Feeling a smile breaking across his face nodding his head reaching out gently John exchanges class schedules with Cameron and tucks his own away in his pocket as he sees her doing the same.

"And who says that's a bad thing?" John asked.

Nodding her head slightly, feeling her smile only widening, reaching out gently, taking his hand within her own, turning on her heels with a gentle tug slowly Cameron leads John down the hallway in the direction of their next class.

Sarah Newlin then showed up in the classroom.

"It's always such a pleasure to return home to my sisters." Sarah's words seemed sincere, but the barely noticeable grimace at the corners of her mouth said otherwise. "But I come home during dire times. Hell is upon us."

"Please tell me we're not going to become a church group." Bella whispered.

"I don't know." John said.

"The threat of vampires is real." Sarah's soft face took on a tense look. "I know many of you are soft hearted, just like I once was. You were raised to be proper Christians, and in such are programmed to be forgiving to mankind." She said.

"Faith isn't part of my programming." Cameron whispered to Bella.

"I was once like you." Sarah went on. "I even marched in DC with my dear, dear sister for their equal rights. But those same damned fiends I had so foolishly supported snatched my sweet, kind sister from me and my family. My eyes were opened to my naivety and I swore I'd do my darndest to ensure no other family had to go through what mine did. Sisters, you are also my family." Sniffing, Sarah wiped away a tear from her eye.

~The next day the auditions~

Bella was wearing a purple tank top, grey skinny jeans, and black combat boots. Her hair is in a low ponytail wit a streak out. She is sitting on a chair next to Flynn. To Flynn's right is Summer, then Scott. Dillon was doing something else. Ziggy is on a stage introducing them to possible Green and/or Pink/Cyan rangers. So far, it wasn't working.

"And for our next Green or Pink/Cyan ranger, allow me to present Captain Smoothy." Ziggy said. He introduced a guy wearing a striped jumpsuit, a cape, a mask, and a number 29 around his neck.

'Another fail, I predict.' Bella thought.

"Uh, now, he's mostly been working birthday parties and bar mitzvahs, but he could be ready to take it to another level." Ziggy said. He faces Captain Smoothy.

"Alright, you're on." Ziggy said. Captain Smoothy began showing off his skills, even if what he was showing were considered skills. Weak punches and kicks. And when he jumped, his costume got stuck on the ceiling fan. He was spinning round and round. Bella couldn't look. She turned her face to Scott, Summer, and Flynn. Their heads were following the motion of the ceiling fan.

"It's horrifying and at the same time, I can't look away." Summer said. Then Bella heard a rip. She looked at Captain Smoothy and regretted it the moment she turned her head. The ceiling fan was still spinning, with Captain Smoothy's costume stuck on it. All Captain Smoothy had on was his green shorts and his number.

"I wonder why that was a fail." Bella said sarcastically.

"Uh, not to worry. Uh, not to worry. He was just another warm-up. An 'appeteaser,' if you will. Uh, the- the best candidates are yet to come, so..." Ziggy said as he tried to get the costume off the ceiling, but no luck. As Ziggy was talking, Flynn pushed the buzzer to indicate this candidate was a fail.

"Sorry, Can we cut the power to this? Uh..." Ziggy kept trying and ended up in failure.

"Just get another candidate. I'll deal with it." Bella said. Ziggy looked at Bella, and opened his mouth to speak, but Bella didn't let him.

"Out." Bella said. Ziggy left. Bella got up from her seat. She went behind the stage and flipped the switch to turn off the fan. After the fan stopped completely, Bella went to the fan and took off the costume. She bundled it up and threw it into the nearest trashcan. She walked back to her seat next to Flynn.

"You didn't have to do that." Summer said.

"I wanted to. At least it gives me something to do here." Bella said.

~The Garage~

"Each color of the Ranger series is designed to configure the movement of electrons within the energy bio-field, in a configuration that bends time and space in order to achieve a specific function," Dr. K. stated.

"Should I pretend I understood any of that?" Dillon asked in his usual smartallic tone.

"Series Blue suit is designed for time-field manipulation," Dr. K. started, explaining what each and every ranger suit can do. "It can halt the movement of electrons through the entire biofield, suspending time for ten seconds. Series Yellow is able to read energy signatures and focus the flow into concentrated surges. Red suit is designed to channel the bio-energy field for a three second burst attack."

"Which brings us to me," Dillon said in his usual sarcastic tone.

"As the operators of the Series Black technology, your suit is enabled with an invincibility shield. It will make you completely impervious to any attack for a period of five seconds."

"Completely?" Dillon asked in pure shock.

"Theoretically, when your shield is fully powered, you could withstand the direct blast from a 40-megapulse explosion," Dr. K. replied.

"Theoretically, but you haven't actually tested them, now, have you?" Dillon countered, yet again, in his smartass tone.

"No. That's what you are here for," Dr. K. recountered.

"Great. Powering up shield," Dillon stated.

"Ideally, you will have mastered these abilities before the other rangers and your 'Ziggy' have found a suitable operator for the Series Green technology," Dr. K. informed him.

~The Auditions~

Ziggy came back with another contestant. Bella wasn't paying attention. Her mind was on Dillon.

"I wonder how Dillon's doing." Bella thought. Bella's mind was on how Dillon looked in his ranger suit. How strong he looked. How smart he was. How cute... Bella realized what she was thinking and shook her head.

"Wait, why am I thinking of Dillon? Did I just think he was cute?" Bella thought. Bella's thoughts were interrupted when she heard three buzzers buzz. Bella looked at the rangers then at the stage. There was a different contestant onstage who was leaving.

"I must've zoned out. How many people were onstage?" Bella asked.

"Too many." Summer said.

"As in too many failures." Flynn said. Then Bella looked at the Ziggy. He was about to get another contestant, but Scott prevented him.

"Stop. Just stop." Scott said. Ziggy stopped and looked at him.

"We're looking for a Green and/or a Pink/Cyan ranger, not a clown." Scott said.

"Do you want a clown because- like an actual clown? 'Cause I can get you one of those." Ziggy said.

"And on that note, I'll be going home." Flynn said.

"Thanks, Ziggy. Very entertaining." Summer said. They stood up and were about to leave.

"No, wait, wait, wait. No, you can't leave yet. Ok, this has all just been building up to my, you know, 100 percent can't miss Green and/or Pink/Cyan ranger candidate." Ziggy said.

"Ziggy... this had better be good." Scott said. Ziggy smiled and ran out to get the best candidate he could find. Bella sighed and rubbed her forehead. Immediately, Bella's mind went back to Dillon.

Once he was out by the line, Ziggy began to frantically flip through the pages in his clipboard while occasionally looking up at the candidates.

"Not you," Ziggy began. "Not you. Definitely not you."

Then Fresno Bob showed up out of nowhere.

"What about me?" he asked.

Once Ziggy heard the man's voice, he turned around to see Fresno Bob standing there.

"Fresno Bob!" Ziggy exclaimed. "Hey. There you are. It's funny - I've been looking for you everywhere."

"Well, today is your lucky day because you found me," Fresno Bob replied.

"Hold on. I, uh...I know what you're thinking," Ziggy started. "You're probably saying to yourself -"

"Where is it?" Fresno Bob asked, cutting Ziggy off.

"Right!" Ziggy agreed, scared for his life now. "Where is it? That's the million dollar question."

"$5 million question," Fresno Bob countered.

"Right. Now, before you say, uh -" Ziggy stuttered.

"Pound it out of him, boys," Fresno Bob said, cutting Ziggy off mid-sentence.

"No, right, before you say that -" Ziggy said, being carried away by Fresno Bob's goonies. "No, no, wait, wait, wait! Wait, wait, wait!"

~Venjix's palace~

"Behold, the subterranean plutonic gopher-bot," General Shifter said.

"Look! It digs underground!" General Crunch said. "It's gonna tunnel us right under the shields and into Corinth like a big metal gopher."

"But once inside, we still have to deal with the power rangers," General Shifter added.

"Leave that to me," Venjix stated. "I have initiated a plan to destroy the rangers from inside."

~The Auditions~

"Why, Ziggy?" Fresno Bob asked. "Why did you do it? Is it just that you're that greedy or you're that stupid?"

"Well, that all depends, uh, o-on what you, um..." Ziggy stuttered. "Sorry, what were those two options again?"

Then Fresno Bob motioned for his goonies to start beating the pulp out of Ziggy.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Ziggy countered.

Just then, someone started whistling 'the farmer in the dell', causing everyone to look around them to try and find out where it was coming from. Then a girl came out of nowhere and started attacking Fresno Bob and his lackeys.

"Hyah!" the girl called out, kicking both the goons holding Ziggy and Fresno Bob.

"Whoa!" Ziggy gawked.

"Wanna play too, Jabba?" the girl asked, directing her question towards Fresno Bob.

"You just made a very big mistake, young lady," Fresno Bob countered, walking away from her and Ziggy. Then he turned his attention to Ziggy while pulling out a business card for the Scorpion Cartel. "And you! All five of the cartels know you're back in town, Ziggy, so you better come by the track, and you better have what you owe us. Come on!"

"Well, those guys are really lucky you showed up when you did 'cause I was about to, uh -" Ziggy started, stuttering towards the end. "I was about to get primal with them, you know?"

"Yeah, they really looked like they needed some help," the girl replied. "But, you know, since they're safe now, I'm just gonna go wait back in line."

"Line? You mean for the Ranger Program? That - that line?" Ziggy asked her, once again, stuttering towards the end.

"Well, I don't know if I have what it takes to be a ranger, but I -" the girl countered.

"No, no, you definitely have what it takes," Ziggy recountered.

"Really? Well, if you say so," the girl replied. Then her eyes glowed red.

~The Auditions~

Ziggy came in with the girl. "Here's your next ranger." He said

"Hi, my name is Tenaya Sevenson." The girl said. Bella looked at the rangers.

"Should you?" Bella asked. Scott looked at Bella for a moment. He looked at Ziggy and Tenaya. Scott nodded.

"Go for it." Scott said. Tenaya began demonstrating what she could do. After that, they put her on different machines. Not like what Dillon went through. Then they put her on a treadmill and regrouped. Bella looked to her, then to the others.

"Well, what do you think?" Bella asked.

"She's off the charts again." Summer said.

"Well, not bad, huh? Now, did I tell you, or did I tell you?" Ziggy said.

"Tenaya Sevenson- former news-helicopter pilot? Ziggy where did you find her?" Scott asked.

"What can I say? Ziggy promises, Ziggy delivers. I make moves. This is what I do." Ziggy said.

"Don't get too cocky." Bella said.

"Well, she's perfect... too perfect." Summer said. They walked over to Tenaya.

"Tenaya." Scott called out. Tenaya stopped the treadmill and looked at them.

"Congratulations. You just joined the Power Rangers." Scott said. Flynn held up a tablet with Dr. K on screen.

"The sooner Series Green or Pink/Cyan is activated and in phase one training, the better." Dr. K said.

"Great. Well, we can do the DNA bonding right here." Scott said.

"I'll grab the morphers and be back in a flash." Ziggy said. He turned around and began to walk away.

"And, Ziggy..." Scott said. Ziggy turned and looked at Scott.

"Great work." Scott said. Ziggy smiled and left.

"I'm guessing that wraps everything up." Bella said.

"Yeah. Bella, we have to go do something. Can you stay here with Tenaya?" Summer said.

"Sure." Bella said.

"There will be two policemen here to check Tenaya for anything. Let them do their thing and we'll be back." Scott said.

"Got it." Bella said. Scott, Summer, and Flynn left. Ava was alone with Tenaya. She saw Tenaya walking up to her.

"Hi, what's your name?" Tenaya asked.

"I'm Bella. You must be excited to join the Power Rangers, right?" Bella asked.

"Yeah. How would you react if you got to be a ranger?" Tenaya asked.

"Honestly... I don't think I have what it takes to be a ranger. But if I did get to be one, I would be shocked." Bella said.

"I bet you do have what it takes to be a ranger. How about we spar for a bit?" Tenaya asked.

"You sure?" Bella asked.

"Sure, why not? But only if you want to." Tenaya said. Ava thought about it, and then responded.

"Ok, let's do it." Bella said. They both got in a fighting stance. Both hands in a fist in front of their faces and left leg in front of the right.

"And... go." Tenaya said. Tenaya began the attack with punches. Bella blocked them with her arms. Tenaya was pushing Bella back. When Tenaya threw a punch, Bella grabbed the punch. She twisted Tenaya's arm and put it behind her back.

"Sometimes the best offense is the best defense." Bella said. She let go of Tenaya. Tenaya turned around. Bella began her attacks with her kicks. Bella was able to hit Tenaya the first two or three times before Tenaya began blocking them.

"Sometimes the best offense is the best defense." Tenaya said. Bella raised an eyebrow when Tenaya repeated what Bella said. When Bella swung her leg, Tenaya grabbed it, stopping her. Tenaya cocked her head.

"Nice. You did really good." Bella said.

"Thanks. I wish I could say the same for you." Tenaya said. Bella was confused. Then Tenaya twisted Bella's leg. Bella spun in the air then fell on the ground. Pain spread through her body.

"Ahh." Bella hissed. Tenaya grabbed Bella's shirt and lifted her off her feet. She threw Bella back so she would hit a wall.

"AHH!" Bella yelled in pain. She slid down to the floor.

"Tenaya, why?" Bella asked. Her vision was getting blurry. She was losing consciousness.

"Because I need to take the morphers to Venjix." Tenaya said.

"No." Bella whispered. Tenaya punched Bella in the stomach hard. Bella collapsed to the side and completely lost consciousness. Everything was dark.

~After a while~

Bella's consciousness was returning. Her eyes were still closed, but Bella could hear muffled voices calling her name.

"Bella! Bella! Bella!" It sounded like Summer. Then Bella felt someone shake her.

"Please stop." Bella said, her voice low. Bella's eyes fluttered open. Five people standing above her. Summer was on her knees next to Bella. Summer helped her sit up.

"Tenaya, where is she?" Bella asked as she was trying to stand up.

"Whoa, be careful." Scott said. Everyone was helping Bella stand up. Bella didn't like being helpless.

"I'm fine, thanks." Bella said. She got out of their grasp.

"When I find her..." Bella began to walk away.

"Bella, where are you going?" Flynn asked.

"To find Tenaya." Bella said. Bella ignored their calls to bring her back and left. Bella ran towards the garage. Dillon would help her. On the street, a car was driving too fast. It was headed towards Bella. She moved out of the way. The car stopped. Bella got a good look at the car. It was Dillon's. She opened the passenger door and was face to face to Dillon.

"Apologize later. Do you know where Ziggy is?" Bella asked.

"Uh, yeah." Dillon said. Bella sat down on the seat and closed the door.

"Drive." Bella said. Dillon listened and drove.

"Where's Ziggy?" Bella asked.

"At the track." Dillon said.

"He has the morphers. Tenaya will be there to take the morphers from him." Bella said.

"Who's Tenaya?" Dillon asked.

"At first, a possible ranger. But then I found out she works for Venjix." Bella said.

"How?" Dillon asked.

"She told me before knocking me unconscious." Bella said.

"She what?" Dillon asked. Dillon got a bit angry that someone hurt Bella.

"Yeah. If I see her again, I'm gonna knock her unconscious." Bella said. They arrived at the track. They heard someone yelling at them to get their attention. It was Ziggy.

"Get in!" Dillon said. Ziggy got in the back seat and put on the seatbelt.

"Careful, she doesn't give up. Bella, I don't think I can hold both. Could you hold one of the morphers for me?" Ziggy asked. Ava took the pink/cyan morpher from him.

"I will." Bella said. Then they heard someone whistling the tune of 'The Farmer in the Dell.'

"What's that?" Bella asked.

"Yeah. Yeah, she does that too. It's like her calling card or something." Ziggy said.

"Cute." Dillon said. He hit the gas. Just as Dillon began to drive, Tenaya jumped on the hood of the car. Dillon stopped the car. Tenaya jumped off the car and went to Bella's window, which was opened. Tenaya grabbed Bella's right shoulder and gripped it tight. She pulled Bella out of the car and threw her to the ground. Tenaya was about to attack Bella. Thankfully, Dillon quickly got out of his car and began fighting Tenaya.

"You've had upgrades." Tenaya said.

"What are you supposed to be?" Dillon asked.

"Tenaya Generation 7. Venjix human infiltration attack bot," Tenaya answered. "I am your thoughts and minds I am mankind's subconscious being. I am the final..."

"Save it!" Dillon countered.

While Tenaya was occupied, Ziggy got out of the car and went to Bella.

"What is it with me falling today?" Bella asked. That was a rhetorical question. Ziggy and Bella watched Dillon morph into the Black Ranger.

"Where are the others?" Ziggy asked

"Hopefully coming. I don't think Dillon can fight her on his own." Bella said. They saw Tenaya kicked Dillon far enough and she started to walk towards Bella and Ziggy. Ziggy helped Bella stand up. Unfortunately, Ziggy dropped the green morpher and Tenaya grabbed it. Bella lunged at Tenaya to try and get the morpher back, but Tenaya just kicked Bella and Ziggy hard. Ziggy dropped to the ground and Bella rolled on the ground, away from Ziggy and Tenaya.

"I won't lose this time." Bella said to herself. She stood up just in time to see Ziggy and Tenaya fighting for the green morpher. Bella saw Ziggy put the morpher on his wrist. She smiled.

"Go for the it, Ziggy. Go for the green." Bella said to herself. Then it happened. Ziggy morphed into the Green Ranger. Operator Ranger Series Green is online. Tenaya pulled away.

"Whoa. I'm a power ranger." Ziggy said. Then Tenaya began attacking him out of pure anger.

"I don't want to be a power ranger. I do not want to be a power ranger." Ziggy said as he avoided Tenaya's attacks. But with one slip up, Tenaya kicked Ziggy back far, but he didn't fall thanks to his ranger boots. Tenaya looked at Bella.

"You have another morpher." Tenaya said as she walked over to her.

"You got me once. You won't get me again." Bella said. She put the morpher in her jean pocket and ran towards Tenaya. Tenaya wasn't expecting that, but took it as an invitation and ran towards her. Once close enough, the fight started. Bella threw kicks and punches with no hesitation. Tenaya was blocking them, but she was having trouble. There was no pattern to Bella's fighting.

"You'll never win." Bella said. She pushed Tenaya back, but not far enough. Yet that was a good thing.

"Bella, duck." Dillon said. Bella got down and Tenaya was blown back by Dillon's weapon, the rocket blaster. Dillon ran to Bella with Ziggy behind him.

"You alright?" Dillon asked.

"I just fought a Venjix cyborg. Trust me. I'm better than alright." Bella said while laughing.

"How are you loving this?" Ziggy asked.

"Hey, we're living in a dome. Give me something." Bella said. Tenaya got up off the ground.

"You haven't won. The Gopher-Bot is already within the walls of your city." Tenaya said.

"The what?" Dillon asked. Tenaya left.

"Ok. A bot is here and you guys have to stop it." Bella said. She put her hand on Dillon's shoulder.

"I'm gonna head back to the garage. Be careful." Bella said.

"We will." Dillon said. Bella took her hand off Dillon's shoulder and ran. Dillon missed Bella's warm touch. She also had a beautiful smile. And her sparkling eyes... Dillon shook his head.

"What am I thinking? Is that what I really think of her?" Dillon thought.

"Dillon, you ok?" Ziggy asked.

"Uh, yeah. Let's go." Dillon said. Meanwhile, with Bella, she finally got to the garage and went straight to the ranger lab.

"Dr. K, what's happening out there?" Bella asked.

"Everything is fine. What about the morphers? Are they safe?" Dr. K asked.

"I got the pink/cyan morpher here." Bella said as she held the pink/cyan morpher. It disappeared from Bella's hand and went back to the pink/cyan ranger suit.

"And the green morpher?" Dr. K asked.

"I don't have it, but I promise you it's safe. It's with someone who is trustworthy and loyal. They will come back here with it without a scratch on it." Bella said.

"You better be right." Dr. K said.

"I am." Bella said and went to school.

Cameron entered the school and walked down the hallway, expecting to see John at his locker. But this time he was not present there. She concluded that John most likely was already in class, just waiting for the bell to ring. Cameron continued down the hallway, until she reached the classroom and entered through the nearest door.

When she entered, Cameron found John sitting in his normal spot from yesterday. What was different today, however, was that the kid who sat to his right wasn't present today. This provided Cameron a better advantage at protecting John. She activated her infiltrator mode and showed a calm, careless face, of a teenager that would be disinterested this early in the morning, and casually walked down the aisle. She sat on the desk on John's right, and set her bag down, where she began pulling out yesterday's notebook.

John noticed that Cameron acted like she didn't register that he was even there, and started to grab her things from her bag. He wondered if she was angry with him, or just tired. He didn't like the cold shoulder she seemed to be giving him. He wondered about what he was going to admit, was going to contribute further to this distance between them.

"Cameron." John blurted out, quickly gaining her attention as she jolted her head, and met his gaze. She didn't say anything and just sat there in silence, letting him speak. "I lied yesterday, about my father. He doesn't sell insurance, because he's... he's dead."

"I'm sorry." Cameron said apologetically.

"Don't be. He died before I was born so I didn't even know him." John sighed, trying to keep himself from being too emotional. "And my mom, she's kinda uptight. Actually she's very uptight. She wants me to come home after school and hang out with her. I'm all that she's got."

The both of them just stared at each other for the longest of moments before a smile formed on Cameron's face. "Thank you for explaining. It will be our little secret."

John couldn't help but smile in happiness. So far his assumption that Cameron was going to ignore him even more, possibly even move on and make other friends; she was accepting of him. His apology to lying to her, and coming out with it before it ever got out of hand. Maybe she did like him? She was so eager to forgive him after all.

Suddenly the bell rang, and every student quickly rushed to their seats, where they all eyed the door, waiting for the teacher to enter. If anything taught them, it was that obeying a teacher was key if they wanted to avoid lunch detention. John and Cameron also started at the doorway, not saying anything as they expected Mr. Ferguson to enter at any moment.

But after a couple of minutes had passed, there was no appearance from Mr. Ferguson. Everyone looked around in confusion. He was usually always in class before the bell even rang, not to mention being a few minutes late. Some students began whispering to one another, with some beginning to make small theories as to where their chemistry teacher was right now.

The student's attention was immediately caught when a man entered the classroom. "Hello class. Mr. Ferguson is ill today. My name is Cromartie." He said.

"Cromartie? That is like the most generic name ever." One of the female students giggled sarcastically.

Cromartie just glared at the teenager, beginning to make the young girl extremely uncomfortable. Everyone looked at the substitute teacher with slight amusement, and fear. Her expression when looking at their friend was reminiscent of a serial killer deciding whether or not they should murder that person. After a short minute, Cromartie took a seat in the teacher's chair. "Let's take attendance shall we? Marie Booeye?"

"Here." The sassy teenage girl answered with timidness.

Cromartie looked back down at his sheet and continued. "Donald Chase?"

"Here!" A student in the back row acknowledged.

"Franklin Lane?"

"Here."

"Cynthia Nolan?"

"Here!" a student from the front left row called out.

"Wayne Parker?"

"Here!"

"Cameron Phillips?" Cromartie then read aloud. He began grabbing a knife from the desk, and sliced his leg. He then proceeded to slowly take out a handgun. "Cameron?" he repeated, not having heard her confirm her presence.

"Here..." Cameron muttered while slouched in her desk.

"Reese? Do we have a John and Bella Reese?" Cromartie then read, scanning the room.

Cameron looked over at John, who in turn looked at her. He noticed her concerned look, and wondered what it meant. But when he heard the teacher call his name, he knew he had to answer, otherwise he would risk being counted tardy; thus getting in extreme trouble with his mother. "Here." John and Bella reluctantly raised their hands, signaling that they were indeed present.

Cromartie tilted his head, taking a long moment to analyze John's facial features, until he came up with a rough estimation of his future self. It was in fact him. His target. "Excellent."

He stood up, and raised his gun, firing off two shots.

Immediately, everyone dove for cover, with desks overturning, and teenagers screaming in absolute fear and dismay. Cameron instantly jumped into action, standing up from her desk just as John had dove behind her, unintentionally, in an attempt to avoid the gunfire. But before she could make a single move, her infiltrator settings had taken immediate effect as she was met with a hail of bullets emmeding into her chest, causing her pain sensors to spike astronomically. The force caused her to stumble and fall to the ground.

On his hands and knees, John started to quickly back up as his world slowed down. He could only look at Cameron; whom he had become friends with, take a couple of bullets to the chest for him and die. He hated himself for it. Everybody seemed to die because they either loved him or just knew him. He hated it, and now it was happening all over again.

But there was no time to be beating himself up over it. When he was alive and alone, he could grieve for his friend. When he could get to his mother, and get the hell out of this hick town. John quickly got onto his feet and started running with all of his might down the aisle, to the back of the classroom; with his destination of escape being the door. However, when he heard another thunderclap ring throughout the classroom, he suddenly stopped from doing so when a bullet had hit the door, causing wood chips to explode from it, scaring him. John turned to his right and saw Bella with his plan B, being a window across the room. Taking whatever little time they had, they ran to it, and jumped through the pane, using their whole bodies to break the glass.

Cromartie maneuvered around the desks, still firing at his target, until he lost him when he had jumped through the window. He stalked up to the window to keep pursuing his target. As he was about to exit the window, he turned his head to the right and looked at the terrified students who were huddled in the corner, fearing that they were in fact next in line to be shot. However, what came out of the sadistic substitute's mouth was far more terrifying.

"Class dismissed." He said simply, then jumped out of the window.

"Oh my god!" Marie shouted out in horror. "He killed that new girl!" Everybody turned their attention to where Cameron was, but saw that she was not there anymore, or anywhere in the class for that fact. All there was left was a blood trail that led out of the door.

"She's a zombie!" Donald exclaimed in horror.

John ran. That was all that he knew. That is all that he could do. Now it was happening yet again. He was being targeted for termination by Skynet. They have done the same damn thing and sent machine back in time to kill him before he rose up to become the leader of the Resistance. But how? He thought that he and his mother stopped it? The Terminator he befriended during those few days even said that it was over. Did he lie? Or did he just not know that it would happen again, somehow? He couldn't dwell on it too much right now, though. He had to focus on surviving. Later he could continue to question everything.

As he and Bella ran down the parking lot, John found a school bus parked outside and took cover behind it, just as Cromartie exited the window that he had smashed through. For a moment, he didn't have a visual on him which was convenient for John. Right now he had the element of surprise, and could possibly use that to sneak away and find his mother. Unfortunately, however, his curiosity got the best of him, as he decided to peek around the corner of the bus, only to be met with a gunshot ricocheting off of the side view mirror, barely missing him.

John continued to run as fast as he could down the side of the bus, with the terminator firing under the bus, trying to disable John at his feet. Luckily all shots were missed, and he was still mobile.

The terminator climbed on top of the bus, and had an aerial, overhead view of the whole parking lot. He did several scans in multiple views of vision, ranging from thermal; to infrared.

While she methodically searched the parking lot, John was now crouched down, hiding behind one of the various cars in the parking lot, hoping that this terminator would not find him, and instead assume that he had escaped. Again, he was still confused that this was happening again. He thought he and his mother had stopped Judgement Day, when they blew up Cyberdyne two years ago. But they were wrong.

Trying to get away, John began to crawl on his hands and knees, while trying to avoid detection from the terminator. When he had rounded one of the vehicles, going to the next, he accidentally came face to face with the terminator who was staring at him with intent, and aiming the gun at him.

The terminator performed a facial recognition analysis on John's face and confirmed that it was indeed him. Now it was time to terminate him. They won.

But he was suddenly interrupted when a large moving object came out of nowhere, and crashed into his side with such great force, that he was sent flying down three rows of cars, and slammed into a red coupe.

John was too shocked to do anything, let alone process what just happened. His mind was racing so fast, trying to figure out what had just happened in such a short amount of time.

The large vehicle revealed itself to be a pickup truck, as it backed up from ramming into the terminator, and the door flung open, revealing a slightly familiar face. "Cameron?" John asked.

"Come with me if you want to live!" she highly suggested.

John and Bella didn't need to be told twice. They got up onto their feet and rushed inside the vehicle, and closing the door.

John curiously glanced at Cameron's chest and saw that there was indeed bullet holes that were still bleeding and staining her pink buttoned up shirt. He then looked up from the wounds and up to Cameron's face where her face was a blank expressionless mask.

His heart sank again, and his eyes drooped to his lap. The girl that he had grown to like, was a machine. "You're a machine." It wasn't a question.

"Yes. I was sent back here to protect you." Cameron explained, not taking her gaze off the window.

"I knew it." Bella said as they drove back to the Garage.

"Ladies and Gentlemen and creepy Doc K computer screen, may I present to you the fifth member of our team." Dillon said. Ziggy pushed a button to make his helmet disappear to reveal himself as the green ranger. And the looks on Scott's, Flynn's, and Summer's faces weren't of approval.

"No way." Summer said.

"How? And why?" Flynn asked.

"Look, Ziggy, you can't just be a ranger." Scott said.

"There is a strict series of tests designed to access the qualifications." Dr. K said.

"He may not be the ideal choice..." Dillon began.

"I would say far from it." Dr. K interrupted.

"...but you said he had to do anything to keep both morphers from enemy hands. Bonding with the green morpher himself is the only way he could do it." Dillon finished.

"And he couldn't hold both morphers so he gave the pink/cyan morpher to me. I didn't bond with it, so don't worry. And Ziggy fought bravely to keep the green morpher away from the enemy." Bella said.

"Yeah, but that's permanent." Flynn said.

"That's right. This is a done deal, fellow rangers. So we all better start getting use to it." Dillon said.

"I'm not sure this operator arrangement is going to work. The amount of training that would be required to prepare an unqualified-." Dr. K was interrupted by Bella.

"Then make it work. Cause whether you like it or not, Ziggy is your green ranger. And that's that." Bella said. Then Ziggy began talking funny nonsense, which made everyone leave the room. Bella went to the stairs.

"Bella." Dillon called out, stopping Bella from walking up. Bella turned around.

"Yeah?" Bella asked.

"Those were some pretty sweet moves you pulled on Tenaya." Dillon said.

"Thanks. And thank you for saving me." Bella said.

"Just doing my job." Dillon said. There was a moment of silence. They looked everywhere except at each other. Then Bella looked at Dillon.

"Dillon?" Bella called. Dillon looked at her.

"Why did you tell them to bail me out from prison?" Bella asked. Dillon felt a bit shocked from that question, but answered it.

"I didn't believe that you belonged there." Dillon said. He wasn't lying, but it wasn't the full truth.

"How did you react to me being a hybrid?" Dillon asked. Bella sighed and walked over to Dillon.

"How did you expect me to react?" Bella asked.

"Something similar to Ziggy." Dillon said.

"Well, I actually felt safe. I trusted you the moment I met you. I didn't care that you had a connection to Venjix. I just felt safe." Bella said.

"You're not lying to me, are you?" Dillon asked. Then came the unexpected. Bella wrapped her arms around Dillon's neck and pulled him into a hug. That was unexpected for Dillon. Dillon reacted by slipping his arms around Bella's waist. It was nice. To Dillon and Bella, the hug felt peaceful. It was warm and safe. When the hug ended, they let each other go.

"Did that say I was lying?" Bella asked. Dillon opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out. Bella smiled and went up the stairs. Dillon watched as she left. Bella opened her door and looked at Dillon one last time.

"Bye." Bella said, then went in her room and closed the door. Dillon couldn't stop smiling. He went to his room and went to sleep with a smile still on his face. Bella slid down her door with her smile intact. She stood up, changed into her pjs, and lied down on her bed. Both happy at the end of the day.
