Embodied/Scratches
It was nighttime and Bella was in a car across from the Hamby's. Or at least, she was assuming it was Jessica Hamby's house.
"GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!" Bella stared down at her fingernails as the sound of shuffling feet and Sookie's apologies met her ears.
"When exactly did it feel like a good idea to bring a newly formed vampire back to her over-protective, Christian parents?" Bella wanted to gain some clarity on this.
"I know," she whimpered, turned around fully into her seat to stare at the busted in door of the Hamby house. "I just - All I could think about was Gran." Her eyes met mine, deep and desolate. "All we have are these memories and - and it's nothing. Gran isn't anything but a memory and we're just - just here. Just here without her. But Jessica - Jessica still has her mom and her dad. They're still here and why - why would I tell her that she can't see them?"
"It was stupid," Bella finally whispered. "But I understand. I - I don't know if I would have been able to do anything else."
"GET IN!" The door beside her slammed open suddenly to admit a hiccuping, frazzled Jessica. Curdled blood tracked down her cheeks, fangs peeking out from her lips every time she let out a bellowing wail.
Briefly, her crystal blue eyes met Bella's before she was curling into the corner of old yellow. Bella was more inclined to do that as well as the whole car shivered as Bill got into the front seat. Even unable to see his face, Bella could tell from the way that Sookie recoiled into the seat that his face was thunderous.
Bella had never particularly favored being the audience to a full-blown couples fight.
They turned a corner sharply, picking up to near-suicidal speed in our rickety car. Old yellow wasn't a race car. She wasn't even really an average car of average construction. That was on full demonstration as the trunk was making a disturbing rattling.
"Um, Bill honey," Bella started sweetly, trying not to wince at the resulting snarl that I got. "Could you maybe go down to like 80 - 70?"
The whine that old yellow gave as they sped up was enough to send her fumbling for a seat belt. It was making her nauseous. And right now she was feeling that at full blast as they bumped onto one of the many dirt roads that would lead them past Shreveport and deeper into the bayou.
"Bill, slow down!" Sookie had never had the same problems as Bella but from the wobble in her voice, she could gather her uneasiness. Bella gagged a little as the gravel road got rougher and the car bounced mercilessly. "Bella's turning green!"
"Please!" Hysteria was evident in Sookie's voice but Bella couldn't look anymore. If I saw the trees and road blurring around them any more than she was going to lose all the content of her stomach. "You're scaring me."
Ah, yes. Only the threat of Sookie's fear would be enough to get her to stop. Bella yanked open the door as they slammed to a stop, not getting farther than a step outside of the car before everything in her stomach was in the dirt. Bella's nose and eyes stung as she gagged, coughing a few more times.
"Dude you're worse than even Dillon." Bella said. Softly, she heard her sister's voice trying to soothe Bill into a more comfortable state.
"She is a vampire!" Bill was snarling to Sookie. Lamely, Bella wobbled back to the open car, slouching down into the back seat as her head gave a swirl of relief. At least one part of her body was content. "She has no family."
Bella shook her head, taking a bottle of water. Jessica was yelling by now, her words halting since she was still sobbing a little.
"I HATE YOU SO FUCKING MUCH!" She screamed, her teeth bared as she stared down the back of Bill's head.
"Be quiet." Something about Bill's soft tone made Bella more nervous than when he was full on yelling.
"EAT SHIT!" She screamed petulantly, leaning forward more, her shoulders tensing.
Bill whipped around, his eyes cold and hard. "I SAID BE QUIET!"
A small huff forced its way from Jessica before she was curling back into the back corner with me, her eyes water and red from unshed tears. Those same eyes blinked over at Bella now and for a moment, they shared an exhausted stare.
"You undermined my authority as her maker. You risked those peoples safety and your own." His voice was rough with anger and with each word my sister tightened up where she sat, her throat working. "If I had not glamoured them within an inch of their sanity, all of our lives would have been shattered."
"I know! I'm sorry!" Bella winced. A lot of times when we were growing up our Gran would have us only apologize and not explain. Explanations made her even more enraged. If there was an explanation then she made it seem like it undermined the apology. Right now, in the heat of the moment, it only infuriated Bill.
"You KEEP SAYING THAT." Bella winced at the ferocity in Bill's face as he stared at Sookie. At that moment, she could see all of his years on this earth. "And I am expected to WHAT? Forget this ever happened?"
"What else do you want me to say?" There was a pleading tone to Sookie's voice that made me think that she wanted to honestly know. Bella took another sip of her water, slouching down in the car even more and turning her gaze to the woods beyond. "I knew when she asked me to take her I should say no but all I could think about was Gran and what I'd give to see her again."
"That does not give you license to behave like an irresponsible CHILD!" Bella was able to plainly see how much that name hurt her by the way that she reeled back. Sookie hadn't been a child since she was born. "She is a loaded gun, Sookie. Not a doll for you dress up and play with!"
Sookie's door slammed open suddenly and she was out within the second. Bella bit her lip, taking another gulp of water.
"What are you doing?!" Bill yelled after her, his face deeply lined with irritation as Sookie stomped away. "Don't be ridiculous! Bon Temp is nearly 20 miles away."
"I'd rather walk all night than spend another second in that car with you!" With that, Sookie whirled away, not caring if Bill followed her or if she was leaving Bella in the back like a forgotten purse.
One moment ticked after another, making her stomach turn with more anxiety the more time passed.
"Listen," Bella sighed, leaning forward. "I'll - um - go and get her. She probably just needs to... fume a little."
The only response she got was a stiff nod from Bill and an open eye roll from Jessica beside her which she fully agreed with.
It was easy enough to catch sight of where Sookie had gone off to. It was one of the only cleared paths on the side of the road. And she had never been exactly quiet even when she had wanted to be. Her shoes were snapping twigs left and right.
"Sookie!" Bella called, jogging up to meet her. "Sookie, wait!"
"Can you believe him?" Sookie seethed, not looking up from her mad trample through the forest. She was nearly glowing with anger.
"Just-" Bella yanked on her arm, stopping her. "Just calm down. You both just need to - I don't know. Take a breath."
She stared up at her definitely for a moment, her eyes blazing. Bella took a demonstrative breath, letting it out slowly. Unwillingly, Sookie followed suit. One in. One long one out.
"I just - I mean I get it," she finally whispered, her eyes dropping to the leaves at their feet. "What I did was stupid? But I just wanted her to have that - to get that final moment. Just one more second with the people she loved. Even when she ran to the door, I was a little bit glad. I mean because of me-" She gave a light sob, shaking her head. "It was just so unfair for her."
"She likes her vampire life better," Bella murmured, squeezing her shoulders reassuringly. "Her human life was cold and unforgiving and she was lonely. Now - weirdly enough - she might get to... live."
A poof of air burst from Sookie, making her smile. "Dammit. You're right. Why are you always right?"
"Eh." Bella shrugged, letting go of her. "I'm pretty fucking awesome."
"Yeah," she mumbled sardonically. "Especially when you blew those chunks."
"Assh-" Bella stopped, freezing as a low snarl pierced the silence of the woods. Slowly, their heads turned to take in the choppy path behind them.
"What the fuck?"
A gangly figure stood in the mist, clearly visible over the hazy white that came from the road just beyond the dark of the trees. Thickly, Bella swallowed, catching sight of the feminine curves and the thick fingers that seemed to lump into sharp points. Atop its head sat wide horns. It was too dark to get anything other than the impression of wild hair.
"Run," she whispered, fear making her blood sing. "RUN!"
They both took off at the same time, cutting around a fallen log and following the path. It had to lead to a main road or maybe even a tavern. Soon, Bella was ahead of Sookie, her legs long enough to carry her forward with no problem. She panted, sweat starting to build at the nape of her neck.
'We need Bill.' Bella thought suddenly, desperately, surprising even herself. A shrill scream sent her whirling, gravel hitting her shins as she kicked up dust. Sookie whimpered from her place on the ground, her mouth opening and closing like a fish that had been dragged to land. Across her back, three distinct gashes bled freely.
"Okay," Bella breathed, her hands zinging as they lit with purple static. Fear twisted her insides as she caught the whiff of rotting flesh and mud. Standing over her sister Bella stepped into a fighting stance, she was done running, the creature cocked it's head almost looking amused. "Let's dance, bitch."
Bella lunged forward, nearly getting slashed in the face as it swung, moving with a lot more agility than she had anticipated. She held her breath, nearly dropping face-first into the dirt as she tried to avoid another quick swing.
Bella cried out, reeling as claws slid through the top layer of the skin at her shoulder. "Shit!" she said as her shoulder slumped as if numbed, but she could feel the pain pretty easily.
"SOOKIE!" The sound of snapping twigs reached them just before Bella heard Sookie being turned, a wail dragging from her. Cold hands stroked down her face and she spit out some more foam and vomit, her face covered in it. "Oh my god, Bella. What happened to you?" Dillon asked as he showed up.
"Bull," Sookie choked out. "Bull - human. Could - couldn't see." Bill and Dillon bit their wrists trying to give them their blood, but their bodies instantly rejected it. Sookie rolled out of Bill's arms with a foamy substance pouring from her mouth.
"Oh, gross." Jessica said.
"You're telling me." Bella groaned as darkness started to take her.
"Jessica, get the car!" Was the last thing she heard.
Bella groaned waking up once more, and she still felt the burning sensation in her body. she looked to the side seeing an elderly woman dressed as a doctor beside her.
"Can I trust you to help us, Doc?" Bella asked groggily.
"I sure am going to try." The doctor said. "My name is Dr. Ludwig. What's your name?"
Bella was about to answer, but when she pulled a sample from the scratches on her shoulder, she cried out instead.
"Ugh!" she cried. "...My name is Bella...Bella Stackhouse-Connor...Question for you, Doc. We're dying, aren't we?"
"Seems like you already know the answer, but yes you are." Dr. Ludwig said bluntly.
If Bella wasn't in a world of pain right now, she probably would have laughed. She's liking this woman she's funny.
"No." Bill said firmly. "She cannot die! You will save her!"
"Bill, let...the doctor...work." she gasped out.
Bill frowned though he did step back with a slight nod of his head. Dr. Ludwig went back to examining Bella's wound.
"You're a tough one, Girlie." Dr. Ludwig said. "But we don't have a lot of choices, you both have been poisoned."
"Figured." Bella grumbled.
"You ever heard of Komodo Dragons?" Dr. Ludwig asked. "Their mouths are teaming with bacteria. After one has bitten you, it will track you for hours, days, just waiting for the toxins to slowly eat away at your nervous system till you're good and helpless. Then it will devour you alive."
"We were scratched by a dragon?" Sookie choked out and Bella relaxed a little as the doctor turned once more to her, her rolling stool squeaking.
"No, because Komodo Dragon toxins don't work this fast." She gasped out as another wave of pain ran through her.
"You're right." Dr. Ludwig said. "This poison is more efficient. I don't think I've seen it before, but it's hard to tell without further testing. And we don't have that kind of time. Give us some privacy. I will need to remove their clothing."
"Now you better brace yourself, Sweetheart, because this is going to hurt like hell." Dr. Ludwig said. A few seconds later, a searing pain exploded on Bella's shoulder and Sookie's back. After a minute, they felt Dr. Ludwig stop pouring whatever liquid she had on them. After the liquid was over with, she dug into the wounds.
"Do you have to do that?" Sookie asked.
"She's checking to see if the poison is out of us." Bella said. "She's just doing what needs to be done."
"You studying medicine?" Ludwig asked.
"Yes." Bella said.
"You can give them blood now," the doctor informed them, already packing away all of her tools. "Their bodies should accept it."
Instantly, Eric's wrist swept to his lips, so was Dillon's, their fangs ripping into the skin of their wrist before Bella could even say anything. One massive hand swept the sweaty, grimy tangle of her hair away from her face, cupping the back of her head to turn her more fully.
"Drink," he murmured, nudging the bloody mess of his wrist to her mouth alongside Dillon, a double gush of blood smeared across her lips. Bella started drinking it.
"I can give Sookie my blood." Bella said as she finished drinking.
"You don't have the right." Bill said.
"Yes she does. They're sisters and she wants to help her." Eric said.
Dr. Ludwig placed the needle in Bella's arm and put the other one in Sookie's arm. Blood started flowing from Bella to Sookie through a tube.
"Always a pleasure, Dr. Ludwig." Eric said as the short woman walked off when the transfusion was complete.
"Fuck off." She said as she went through the door.
"I like her." Bella said as she slipped into sleep.
~Later~
Bella woke up to Ginger screaming and ran to the basement.
"Lafayette?" He looked like shit and he smelled even worse.
"Eric's had him down here," Sookie spat out, her face twisting in rage.
"What did you do?" Bella asked.
"What do you mean?" Sookie snarled, her hands clutching at the gun until Bella thought that she might break it. "He's in Fangtasia. Eric owns Fangtasia."
"I know who owns Fangtasia, Sookie," Bella snapped, scanning over Lafayette's clearly battered body. He had gone through hell and from what she had sensed not too long ago from this place, a whole lot of other people had gone through worse.
"Listen, I don't know-" Lafayette started but Bella could tell that he was trying to be brave. His shoulders were hunched in defensively, his eyes wide and twitchy.
"See?" Sookie demanded petulantly.
"Sookie," Bella breathed, trying to contain her irritation. "Eric wouldn't just go out and grab some random nobody-"
"Hey!" Lafeyette protested and she shot him a glare.
"And haul him back to his basement torture chamber just because. He's not-" Bella said.
"He's not what, Bella?" Sookie shouted, enraged. She jumped up, her cheeks reddening. "Cruel?"
"Because HE IS," she went on, gaining ground.
"He's not a monster, Sookie," Bella whispered. Her eyes drifted to where Lafayette shivered on the floor. "What did you do, Lafayette?" She asked.
"I-" Lafayette's dark eyes flicked around like a deer that had been spotted by a hunter. "It was just-"
"No!" Sookie snarled. "You aren't at fault. You don't deserve this. No one deserves this - to be chained like an animal in the darkness, sitting in their own waste!"
"He's a Viking, Sookie," Bella said, keeping her eyes trained on Lafayette. He reeked of fresh fear. "His ways aren't like ours."
"His ways are barbaric," Sookie hissed and Bella shrugged. "Who the fuck are you? He is a vampire, Bella."
"Bill's a vampire," Bella snapped.
Sookie's cheeks reddened, her hands waving. "No. There are vampires and then there are vampires."
"You're not making sense," Bella snapped, growing tired of the conversation and she turned quickly to Ginger.
"Ginger." Bella smiled. "Since you don't have the key to our friend here, I'd say that Eric does. Could you call him up?"
Ginger's eyes went babydoll wide. "Oh, Mister Northman'll be here in no time anyways. The suns going down as we speak and the blonde one's vampire is probably already waking up. He's in a casket in the back."
"Bill's here?" Sookie perked up and the general lack of aggression made Ginger relax a little.
"Listen, this is all dandy and shit," Lafayette piped up, jangling the chains that were still firmly in place around his wrists. "But I'm still chained up."
"We'll get you a drink and some food," Bella said, turning to hobble back up the stairs.
"So we're just going to leave him here?!" Sookie shrieked and Bella rolled her eyes.
"You've got to be fuckin' kiddin' me," Lafayette groaned.
"Unless you have a fucking chainsaw to get those chains off him then I think we'll have to wait until your best friend gets here," She snapped, clutching at the railing.
"More like your best friend," Sookie snarled but Bella heard her start to make her way after her. "I bet you're going to suck his dick-"
"Nah. I'd prefer Dillon's but I bet they both have very magnificent dicks." Bella mused.
"You're disgusting." Sookie said.
One of the back doors behind Bella burst open, Bill rushing out with a gleeful light in his eyes. His eyes were firmly glued to Sookie who turned just as he bound through.
"Yep," Bella sighed as they rushed together in a fierce hug. "I'm alive too."
Sookie pulled away from the embrace, her eyes narrowing.
"You're right. I'm alive and in one piece." Sookie's voice grew venomous. "Unlike my friend Lafayette who Eric chained up like an animal and left to bleed to death."
"What?" Bill questioned, bewildered.
"You better not have known anything about this, Bill Compton," Sookie barreled on. "Because if you did, I don't think I could ever forgive you."
"I have no idea what you're talking about." Bill said.
"I imagine she's referring to the human in my basement." Eric said.
"What did he do to get placed in your basement?" Bella asked.
"He traded sexual services with a vampire in order to sell his blood, which as you know is a grave offense." Eric said.
"His name is Lafayette," Sookie snarled, jerking forward even as Bill reached out with a steadying hand to her forearm.
"Lafayette broke the law," Bella snapped. "You've seen the healing effects of vampire blood first hand. If this gets out then there will be vampire meat shops all around corinth city."
"You ought to be ashamed of yourself! How could you sit there and defend this monster?!" Sookie demanded.
"He's not a monster, he's one of my mates." Bella whispered.
"He kept our friend here for weeks!" Sookie took one more step forward within striking distance.
"Sookie," Bill whispered softly and Bella saw alarm in his eyes as he watched her approach.
"How can you be so callous?" Sookie snarled.
"You know the consequences that would come from the distribution of v. Vampires would be drained just for their blood. Your vampire would be hunted and hung for just a drop."
"Don't you dare bring Bill into this," Sookie breathed and her hands clenched at her side.
"Lafayette brought every vampire into this when he decided to sell their blood illegally," Bella whispered, trying to reason with her. "This is so much more than just a friend. Or just a random sell of blood. Did he even vet the people that he was selling to? How much did he tell them? You need to understand-" Sookie slapped Bella in the face.
"Don't you ever lay a hand on her again." Dillon said.
"Sookie, that is enough," Bill hissed, yanking her back once more as she tried to jerk free from him once more.
"No!" Sookie snarled. "It's not nearly enough. They've tortured him and bitten him and shot him and kept him down there in his own filth for weeks."
"Is this true?" Bill breathed.
"There are others who would have done far worse and you know it," Eric bit out.
"You're going to let him go right now, or I swear, I'm going to the police." Sookie said.
A low hiss was the only warning Bella got before Eric was stalking forward, his fangs clicking down.
"I do not respond well to threats," Eric growled lowly.
Bella then left when the arrangements were made.
~Morning~
"I told you Ziggy - left on grand was the fastest way to downtown," Scott scolded from the cockpit of the Zenith Megazord.
"Hey, no fair, I didn't know we'd qualify for the carpool lane," Ziggy whined from behind him.
"Of course we qualify. There's six of us, aren't there?" Flynn asked.
"Plus, Ziggy, we're driving around in a giant, 25-story-high robotic super-weapon," Summer reminded Ziggy.
"She's right," Dillon agreed. "We qualify for any lane we want."
"You guys find this highly fascinating, why?" Bella asked.
"Everybody hang on. Maintain equilibrium." Scott warned.
"It's locking its primary blaster on us!" Summer exclaimed in worry and when it fired, the Zord was hit.
"Is it too late to call in sick?" Ziggy asked.
"I'm looking at your vitals right now, " Dr. K replied, "and aside from irregularly high levels of bad breath and body odor. I see no signs of any serious physical issues." Bella snickered at Dr. K's honesty.
"Doctor, we're all gonna have some serious physical issues if something isn't done right now," Scott said.
"Rangers, switch to the smaller, more maneuverable dual Megazord configuration." Dr. K said.
"Roger that." The rangers said.
~Garage~
"Come on, humor me," Summer said as she sat opposite Dillon at the kitchen table.
"Forget it," Dillon said, shaking his head. "It's never going to work."
"Have you ever been hypnotized?" Summer asked.
"How would I know that? I have amnesia, remember?"
"Exactly." Summer said. So just give it a shot. Relax."
Dillon scoffs and repeats, "Relax. If I'm going to relax, can we maybe try this in somewhere a little more private?"
"Ranger series black, we need to find out answers behind your past, and we need them soon." Dr. K said as she stormed over to them. She was carrying a clipboard, and had been doing a few tests on the newest megazord configuration when she had heard the conversation. "You have a computer virus spreading Venjix machinery through your body as we speak."
"A computer virus you created and released," Dillon retorted.
"Dillon, it was an accident." Summer insisted.
"I spilled my OJ this morning. That was an accident. She ended the world." Dillon retorted.
"I'm not denying the factual accuracy of that statement, I do not see how it has any relevance now regarding your decision to cooperate with the proposed regression hypnotherapy in an effort to discover your past." Dr. K said.
Suddenly, the melody of Dillon's pocket watch echoed in everyone's ears. Summer was holding the open item in her hand, urging the Dillon to look at it. "Dillon, what are you thinking about right now?" She asked.
He glared at her. "I think you're gonna be sorry you stole my watch."
"Don't think about the music, just feel it." Summer instructed. "Let it go."
Dillon shook his head, taking the watch from her. "I'm sorry, Summer, but this is never going to... work."
Dillon's eyes now seemed to be miles far away, which indicated the hypnotherapy was working.
"Summer?" Dillon called out.
"I'm here, Dillon. I'm with you." Summer said softly.
"Hey, me too, buddy." Ziggy whispered, walking towards Summer. "Are we gonna make him dance like a chicken now?"
Summer slapped the Ziggy across the face. "Hey, w-what did I do?!" Ziggy exclaimed.
Scott and Flynn exchanged amused glances, while Dr. K rolled her eyes. The blonde ignored Ziggy, and continued with the hypnotherapy. "Dillon? What can you see? Where are you?" Summer asked.
"Someplace bad." Dillon said.
"Okay, think back further. Just let go." Bella said.
"Dillon? What is it?" Summer asked.
"Yeah, I'm - I'm with someone," Dillon answered. "I'm supposed to protect her."
"Do you recognize her?" Bella asked.
"No." Dillon said.
"What about the place?" Summer asked. "Do you recognize that?"
"It's some kind of city square," Dillon said.
"Try to see something specific," Summer said. "Like, maybe a name."
"Wait - is that -?" Dillon asked.
"What, Dillon?" Bella asked.
"I see a sign," Dillon said, "and..."
Dillon gasped as he was pulled out from the very depths of his mind. His eyes snapped open and he instantly looked up at the two girls sitting opposite him. "You," he said, looking at Bella.
"Me?" Bella asked, pointing at herself. "Me what?"
"You were there... in my head." Dillon said.
Bella frowned and cocked her head to the side. "Are you sure?" she asked, "you're not making a whole lot of sense."
"I saw you," Dillon insisted. "You weren't with me... I mean, you weren't the girl I was with. But you were there, I saw you!"
"OK," Summer said, uncertainly. "You said you saw a sign. Did you see a name on the sign? Something that might help us?"
Dillon nodded, and lowered his gaze to the table. "Uh, yeah, the sign," he said, fumbling for words. "It was white with the name 'Kenmore' in block gold letters."
"Kenmore?" Bella repeated.
Dillon nodded.
"That's in downtown Omega city," Bella said. "You must've seen me while I was heading to my martial arts tournament."
"Omega city? That place was evacuated right after the first Venjix attack" Scott exclaimed in disbelief.
"So, how do I get there?" Dillon asked.
"You don't," Dr. K said, looking up from her clipboard. "It's too far outside the dome. Besides, what would you possibly hope to find there?"
"Answers," Dillon said.
"Omega City, eh?" Ziggy started.
"I've always wanted to see it in its, uh, post-apocalyptic glory." Flynn added.
"What they're trying to say is if you go, we're coming, too." Summer clarified.
Dillon's hand let go of the door handle and he turned to his teammates.
"And if we go, then I say we at least go out in style, yeah?" Scott proposed.
Bella didn't know what Scott had meant by that, and she was too busy having a staring contest with Dillon to ask.
~Time Skip~
Ziggy stuck his head out of the Go-Onger's window with a pool dolphin shouting "Road-trip!"
"Goo-Goonger?" Flynn asked, frowning at the name on the side of the bus.
"Go-Onger," Scott corrected. "Project Go-Onger - the ground, outdoor, operational network general-purpose exploration rover. Basically, it's a multi-terrain attack and surveillance vehicle. But, it is also my dad's favorite possession in the whole entire world, so please, please Flynn, careful behind the wheel" Scott says while setting the equipment down, "you personally saw it oversaw its design and construction."
Flynn was now behind the wheel, Summer next to him while Scott was behind him; Ziggy sitting at the back; Dr. K, Dillon, and Bella at the door.
"Yes, at the brighten installation. Located 2 miles beneath Nevada desert." Every ranger was giving her strange looks. "What? I would recognize their shouty secretary work anywhere."
"and when was this? 1975." Summer questioned.
"No, no this is great, it's like being in a time machine." Ziggy scratched behind his neck.
"Look, if we're going to Omega City this is our best bet."
"I'll bring the marshmallows," Dillon says, causing Scott to chuckle.
"I'll follow behind, take out any Grinders wanting in the city." Bella left the trailer with Dr. K. But not before leaving behind the comms Dillon and Bella used back to communicate with each other while on the road.
When the trailer left, Bella left a different comm to Dr. K "this is for?"
"When you lower the shields and we pass through, immediately raise them up again. Here," Bella shows the position on the comms for Doc to see, "this will blink meaning it's a perfect time for us to pass without letting Grinders in."
Dr. K nodded understanding so Bella went back to her motorcycle driving after the rangers.
~Time-skip~
"My senses show that you are leaving the city perimeter." Dr. K informed.
"It's either that or we are lost already." Bella rolled her eyes hearing Flynn's comment even though they wouldn't be able to see it.
"Lower the shield's Colonel," Dr. K ordered.
"Shields Deactivated." The robotic voice announced.
The City gate was erected allowing the rangers outside. Bella rode on her motorcycle next to Summer's window and said through her comms "meet you later." Bella gave a two-finger salute before heading off riding next to the City walls.
Riding, she did find a few Grinders, she morphed so it would be easier and faster to fight. After encountering 3-4 groups of Grinders did the shield fully activate. Seeing that as her cue, she left, after riding around the domed city full speed for a check just to be sure that there weren't any more attacks, and no the Grinders had retreated.
Bella rode towards the directions the rangers left for. Upon reaching closer to the tracker planted on the truck, she found it abandoned, with no rangers to be seen. Alert, she morphed, leaving her bike next to the Go-Onger to go and scout.
Going further into the wasteland she saw the rangers fight a bot. Rushing in Bella came by the time Grinders came out of nowhere.
"I brought a legion. What did you bring?" Asked the bot.
Bella came in running through the Grinders aiming for the Bot, "Me!" She yelled.
The Rangers were fighting off the Grinders while Ryder dealt with the Bot. It was mostly hand to hand. But her attacks were mostly dogged or blocked by the bot. When he struck her it hurt that her breath was taken away from her.
"You thought you were so powerful inside your silly little dome, and now you're finished!" The Bot threw bolts at the Grinders, making them more powerful.
Bella finally catching her breath was in a fighting stance in front of the Bot. For the first time she looked into its eyes, memories of when she was imprisoned entered her mind, "you!" Anger took over her. Her strikes are more obvious, full of anger, and more powerful. "You ruined my life!" She screamed. She landed a punch, giving Venjix an opening for a strike. Punching her abdomen Bella went flying over in front of the feet of the rangers.
Dillon knelt down checking on her while the other stayed on guard. "You ok?" He asked gently.
"I hate that bastard!" She exclaimed through the pain.
Dillon finally looked up into the eyes of the Bot. Shooting up he announced, "I know you!"
The human rangers turned to look at their teammate in confusion. "That's right, subject D-44. it is I, Venjix. Nice to see you again. Prepare to be destroyed!" Venjix announced spreading his arm creating a virtual sword.
Scott and Venjix went up against each other with their swords. "Yes, I am Venjix, the one immortal me. You should've stayed in that dome of yours."
"Guys surround it." The rangers, sans Bella who was still hurt, went to surround Venjix.
Bella was forced to do something she didn't like, watching her family being hurt without the power to help. Lost in thought she didn't see the rangers being thrown next to her.
"And now, say goodbye." Venjix declared. At the sound of his voice, Ryder looked up and rolled to the side, not being caught by the blast.
Once the Ranger fell on the floor, Bella stood up and walked in front of the fallen rangers. Despite her body's screams, she held her ground.
"Go back to the Go-Onger!" Bella screamed without looking back.
She ran towards Venjix summoning her Plasma Naginata. She felt relieved when she heard Scott's voice "Bella!" He grunted, "Everyone, fall back, move!" Dillon was recusant, "Dillon move!"
Hearing this Bella turned her head and shouted, "GO!"
The Rangers entered the Go-Onger, not missing the sight of Bella's motorcycle. Dillon grabbed the handles of it and hid it in the bushes a little, for Bella to use later on.
Being distracted Bella was too late to block a slash of Venjix's sword. She was thrown back de-transforming at the same time, landing on the ground unconscious, her breath barely visible.
Satisfied with his work, he would collect her later. Snapping his fingers he summoned his flying bot, flying behind the rangers, targeting them.
~Tunnel~
The rangers were worried about Bella, but currently, they had a matter at hand, they needed to finish off the boat. They argued if they should or shouldn't use the one Megazord configuration now.
It was the leader's choice as Dillion said. Leader agreed. "Once we finish with Venjix, we'll look for Bella." Scott said. Everyone agreed.
In the morning, they morphed and used the Megazord.
~With Bella~
Bella woke up on the dirty ground, spitting sand out of her mouth. It was dark, meaning night time. Getting up with her sore body, she did a few stretches. Sleeping helped her recover, not fully but enough.
Walking to where she had parked her motorcycle, she found it but no Go-Onger. 'They must have left.' Bella wasn't mad, she understood. Getting on her Motorcycle, she rode on the road, opposite from where the rangers were.
~Morning~
Bella finally stopped driving looking backward she saw the Megazord. She smirked and watched the scene unfold.
She then headed for Kenmore.
Once the battle ended the rangers all went to the place where they last saw Bella. Seeing that her body wasn't there they began to worry, especially Dillon. Before they could freak out, Dillon suggested seeing if her motorcycle was still there, she would never leave without it.
Going to where the Go-Onger preciously was, Dillon let out a sigh of relief seeing that the Motorcycle wasn't present, the footprints also seemed small, meaning woman.
"She must have already left for Omega City," Summer suggested. All seem to agree, it was her style.
"Let's go to Kenmore!" Ziggy shouted fist punching the air all exited. Someone was bound to kill Ziggy.
