"Thousands of years ago, two families broke away from a tribe called Xiaofu. These two families, the Gwens and us, the Chengs, walked miles and miles until we came to a vast land with excellent vegetation. We decided to settle there and called it the Republic of China."Once we got there, we immediately started planting crops and made a good harvest.

The two families worked very hard to survive and we immediately grew very powerful."However, there was only one problem. The two families needed a leader. So the elders of the land agreed that the two maiden daughters of the first borns of the decendants of the Gwens and Chengs battle out to become the Queen of China. After a serious fight, the daughter from the Cheng family, Zoe, won and became the Queen of China.

On the day of her coronation, there was a wonderful sight. As she was about to be crowned Queen, thunder and lightning struck, and from the heavens came a crown which floated down onto Zoe's head. She became a valiant Queen and had super-human powers, just like the ones Ladybug and Chat Noir hav today. She became super-strong, had night-vision and used these to protect her country.

From then, Zoe's descendants and those of the Gwen's daughter, who was later forgotten, fought when it was confirmed that they had come of age. When they do, the winner becomes the crowned princess and protector of China until the current Queen dies.

Your mother and her best friend were the princesses of China. Your mother could not think of fighting her best friend, so she let Xin Xin win and become Queen of China. On the day of the coronation, someone sent a raid to kill the royal family. She had to run away to Paris where she met me at Andre's. We later got married and gave birth to you, Marinette. And now it's your turn to fight for your crown," Tom finished.

Mari's POV
Alya and I stood in shock as I processed what my dad just told me."Papa, thank you so much for the love and care you've shown us. I never knew the family history was this complicated. Now I understand why you wanted to keep it a secret. It was to protect me," I said before hugging them.

"Now if you'll excuse me, Alya and I have things to do upstairs. Bye!" I squeaked before grabbing my best friends hand and dragging her upstairs."Woah, Marinette. I never knew your life was this complicated," Alya said

"I know. Another thing to add to my list of responsibilities: Being the Gurdian and the Princess of China!" I said as I fell onto my bed and stuffed my face with a pillow. "This is a disaster!"

"Hey, don't be like that girl! Being the Princess is just a bonus to the wonderful job you have! And speaking of Guardian, I have something to give you," Alya smiled, bringing out a box

"The miracle box!" I screamed

"I know, it was not easy to hide magical jewels and beings from my parents, sisters and especially Nino, but I did it and here they are!" Alya said as I pressed the button and the kwamis came out

"MARINETTE!" they screamed as they flew to me and hugged me.

"We were so worried," said Mullo

"Why did you try to kill yourself?" Wayzz asked

"We missed your honourable presence great guardian!" said Kaalki

"I missed you guys, too!" I said before I heard my phone ring

"Alix?" I wondered as I looked at the phone. Alya shrugged. I decided to pick it anyway

"Marinette, we need to talk! Now!"
