Mari's POV

*Present Day*

"Congratulations, Marinette! I am glad to inform you that you've successfully completed your counseling program. You are hereby free to go," Ms. Lacey, my counselor informed me. We were really tight throughout my stay in the hospital and I had told her about everything. About Lila, the breakup, the bullying, the false pregnancy test and all that she needed to know. I obviously didn't tell her that I was Ladybug though, and that I was secretly guarding a box full of powers that can change the course of history up in y room. And of course, I didn't tell her that I was the long lost Princess of China.

Chloe had been the temporary Ladybug, or Queen Bug, she preferred. She and Chat Noir had always fought the villains and she never stopped telling me about how Chat Noir missed me so much.

Alya had eventually remembered about me being Ladybug and seeing that she was truly sorry, I allowed her to take the miracle box to her house for the time I would stay in the hospital.

Adrien never lasted a day without at least calling me. He sent me tons of gifts and get-well-cards and even a stuffed teddy bear with an embroidery saying 'My Princess' only'. Ms. Lacey never let me hear the end of it that day as she continued to tease me nonstop.

Speaking of princess, I discovered that I was the princess of China. I tried to know more about it but maman and papa promised that I would hear everything I needed to know when I leave the hospital.

"Thanks, Ms. I really appreciate what you've done for me these past two months. I will never forget you," I tell her. But before I go she tells me to wait.

"Marinette Dupain-Cheng, I have to tell you something. I have been counseling for almost five years now and I have never seen someone as exceptional as you. You are smart, brave, talented and smart. You are you for you, and nothing or no one is going to change that. Promise me, that no matter what goes on after you step out of this room, I will never see you walk into this room again," she said as she looked at me through her glasses, her eyes piercing my soul.

"It's a promise," I assure her. We hugged and said our final goodbyes as I left for the front office where I would be discharged.

As I sat down, I picked up my phones and went through my messages. Some of them were from my classmates. You would think that even after I almost died they would be concerned. Yeah, right. I saw text after texts of them spamming death threats, wishing I was dead.

I finally got to Lila's message. How she got my number, I don't know. Her message read:

Marinette, darling, I told you that no one could stop me, and I was right. You are such an incompetent mess. Go do the world a favor and die anyways. No one wants you, not even Adrien.

I immediately block her number. I couldn't help but a few tears fell from my eyes

"A princess doesn't cry, you know"

I then turn to see a blonde boy with majestic emerald-green eyes. He was smiling at me as he held a cake with the icing reading: Welcome back, Marinette!

I couldn't help but giggle. "What's the cake for?"

"Oh come on princess. Are you seriously asking me that?" Adrien groaned

"I told you to stop calling me princess," I say as I playfully punch his arm.

"You know I can't help it, Mari! Or do you want me to call you the future ruler of China?"

"Come on, Adrien! That sounds so cringe!"

"So which name would you prefer?"

"You still didn't answer my question," I said trying to change the subject.

"Oh, the cake. It means Welcome back to the bright bluebell eyes, the pink rosy lips that hold up a smile and of course, Welcome back to the restart of our relationship!" he grinned

"And who told you that we are starting all over?" I tease him

"I think you made that pretty clear when you almost died but I brought you back to life," he countered

"Uh-uh! Nope! We are NOT dating!" I say as I walk away.

Then I turn around and yell, "Catch me if you want us to!" Then I took off

"But I'm holding a cake!" he complained. I saw him drop the cake on the bench and run after me.

We ran and ran until we reached the park. He finally caught up with me and held my collar.

"I win!" he said looking like a complete idiot.

I laughed, "Fine, fine! You win! Now let me go!"

"Not until you answer my question. What are we?" he asked

"Fine! We're a couple!" I smile

"Yay!" he screamed. 

"I did it!

I did it!

I did it, yeah!

Loisimo! I did it!"

I couldn't help but laugh as he performed what he called a song and what I call a display of stupidity.

"Fine it's enough!" I said, causing him to pout

"No!"

Is he serious right now?

"Then what about the cake?" I asked, putting my hand on my hips

His eyes widened into the shape of saucers, "Oh shoot, the cake!"

But before he ran away, I held him by the hand

"I love you Adrien"

He smiles back at me. "I love you too my princess."

After that we held hands and walked back to the hospital to get our cake
