Chapter 46
*Tajwar Pov*
She slowly opened her eyes and blinked for a second before closing them again. Then she leisurely turned around before giving me her back but didn't remove my hand around her.
"Do you still think this is a dream?" I whispered in her ear remembering how she continued to mumble that everything is a dream.
"No! My leg is paining." she mumbled back and pulled my hand more to her.
"What is the connection?" I asked, frowning at that reply.
"My leg is paining, which makes sure that I fell into the water and me sleeping on the floor is possible with this pain only when you helped me. So, you are really here." She explained, and I turned her around smiling.
"And?" I asked, remembering how I confessed even though thought of doing it today as she was hurt but couldn't stop myself hearing her question.
"And we need to wake up. My dad will have his breakfast now before leaving for the fields." She replied and moved a little to get up.
"That's it?"I asked her frowning.
"Yeah! He will wait until I sit there with them and then will eventually get late for lunch." She replied glancing at the small clock on the wall.
"So, you decided to torture me?" I asked her sighing to which she gave me a small frown and then her eyes widened.
"Oh! That was real?" she asked in a whisper with shock written over her face.
"Yes! Now, we will get up and get ready so that your dad doesn't get late." I said, sitting up and helped her to stand while she just stared at me.
"Washroom is outside right?" I asked, looking around and then saw a small door.
"No! They both got a connected bathroom to theirs and mine." She explained before taking a step towards the cupboard with a painful expression.
"Wait! Let me assist you a little." I said before taking out her clothes and placing them in the washroom before making her get in.
"I will be just outside. If you need anything, just shout my name." I said, closing the door and leaned on it before taking out my mobile.
I glanced at all the missed calls before shaking my head. I called the land phone and waited for someone to pick up.
"Hello?" it seems like mom picked it up.
"Mom! Why is each member in the family calling me?" I asked her frowning.
"Don't worry, Tajwar! They are not doing it for you, but just to have a word with Mridula." she replied making me frown.
"I was not that a bad family member." I mumbled and heard her sigh.
"No! However, everyone is missing her so wanted to talk to her." she said, and I sighed back.
"Ok! I will make her call after some time." I said and hung up bidding bye.
I opened the door when I heard Mridula knocking and saw her holding the saree with one hand before just trying to come out.
"We can't change properly inside. It is a small washroom." she said as an explanation and slowly started draping the saree around her while I took out my clothes.
After making sure she sat down, I walked inside the washroom to freshen up and can see what she is talking about.
"Don't tell them about anything." she said in a stern voice when I helped her near to the door after she applied a balm over her leg near the injured part before I walked outside the washroom.
"Ok! So, can I say anything I want to them except for the part that happened?" I asked, opening the door and walked outside assisting her before she could say anything.
"Mridula! How are you feeling now?" her mom asked when they saw us.
"I am fine, mom." She replied, smiling before sitting down on the chair.
"Sit down, Tajwar." Aunt said, gesturing to the chair after uncle sat down.
"Ok!" I mumbled and sat down while she started serving us.
"Shall I show you the fields, Tajwar? Mridula enjoys all of that, but now she is not feeling well right." Uncle asked, looking at me after we finished the breakfast.
"Take him with you, dad." Mridula said before I can reply to him seeing my hesitation.
"Ok!" I said, getting up along with him, but not before looking at her with a knowing look.
"Are you both happy?" he suddenly asked making me frown at him as he was in the middle of explaining something about the land area.
"I mean, I am her dad, but I have never properly seen to myself whether she is happy in her life or not and now I am asking the question which I should have way before." He added looking at my frown.
"I am happy and I will try to keep her happy forever." I replied honestly to which he nodded smiling.
"For her even a little used to be everything, but she deserves more than a little." he mumbled smiling and again took me to another small tour while introducing the person who was on our way.
"Mridula! I will do this." I heard Aunty's voice when we entered the house at lunch time as I asked him to continue his work while I look around myself.
"I am not standing, Mom. And my leg seems to be fine now even though a little." Mridula said, and I saw her trying to arrange everything on the table.
"When did you start not listening to me, Mridula?" Aunty asked smiling at her.
" A few months back!" she replied in a serious tone and then realized what she said before looking around in a panic.
"She started listening to me, Aunty." I said smiling at them.
"Thank you!" Mridula whispered when I sat beside her.
"Will I get a kiss for it instead of the words?" I asked in a whisper, to which she looked at me wide eyed before looking away making me chuckle.
"Here!" I said the next day when we entered her room at night after dinner, and she turned slowly before frowning at my hands.
"For me?" she asked, taking the small garland.
"Yes! When I was walking around for the second time through the village, I saw them." I replied, and she nodded before taking them from me and placed them in her hair.
She smiled and opened her mouth, but I placed my finger, asking, "Are you going to say thanks again?"
She stared at me before shaking her head and tried to sit on the floor, but stopped when I helped her to sit properly.
I lay back before she followed my suit, and we both stared at the ceiling. When I slowly turned to looking at her, she too turned before placing her hand over my chest.
"I will not say 'thank you'." She said smiling before pressing her lips to mine for a second and moved back, but I stopped placing my hand behind her neck.
She stared me and I slowly pressed my lips to her forehead before holding her. She snuggled closer to me, and we both drifted off into sleep.
"Yeah! Look over all the information and give me a call soon." I said, hanging up and turned to see Mridula walking into the kitchen to help her Mom.
It's been four days since I came here and everyday I am getting to know more about her parent while seeing her spending the time with them.
Like how for a second she shows an awkward expression when they start pampering her, but again enjoys it the next second. I wish she was not separated from them, but I can understand the circumstances and glad they can be with each other now.
"Tajwar! I need to show you something." She suddenly said, rushing near to me with her injured leg, which seems to be fine as she is saying since yesterday.
"What do you have to show me?" I asked smiling at her.
"Mridula! Take some more rest today and go anywhere tomorrow." her mom said and she immediately stopped with a frown on her face.
"But, Mom!" Mridula said, turning around and walked inside the kitchen with slumped shoulders, and I laughed before walking outside the house.
"We will go tomorrow, Mridula." I said when she continued to sulk even while putting the garland in her hair.
"But I wanted to go outside the house today and thought she would allow me if I take your name." she confessed and sat down on the floor before I could say anything.
"So, there was nothing you wanted to show me?" I asked her in a small tone before sitting beside her.
"There is! However, I got the idea for the purpose of stepping outside the house. I don't want to hide anything from you anymore." she replied fidgeting with her hands.
"Hey! Forget about those things." I said, holding her face.
"No! I hurt you, Tajwar. And I know it was not a small one. I didn't even apologize and just kept quiet. I don't mean all those things at all, and they just came out in my guilt." She continued to explain, but I pulled her into my arms and hugged her tightly.
"Like I said, forget everything." I whispered, and she nodded before hugging me back.
"You forgot so many things I have done, Mridula. Now, let's talk about something else." I added when she moved back.
"But..." she mumbled which I again stopped her this time kissing her which she returned without a little hesitation because of which I didn't stop in a second like I thought, and a simple kiss turned into a big makeout session.
"I know you, Mridula. You didn't care about my main drawback point, then why would you think of all that for real?" I asked her honestly.
"Drawback?" she asked, frowning.
"These! I still haven't accepted myself with these, but you never said a word which shows repulsion." I replied, pulling off my shirt up gesturing at the knife markings.
She stared at them and frowned at me before moving her face closer to mine and pressed a small peck near my neck and continued to do them at each mark.
"What are you doing?" I asked, holding her face and moved it near to mine.
"Showing you that they are nothing." she replied, and I hugged her hearing the words before we both lay on the mat.
"Don't even think about them because I never did and never will." she added and I nodded, staring at her, but then placing a small kiss over her forehead and closed my eyes but opened them to see her frowning at me.
"What happened?" I asked, to which she shook her head before moving a little and lay down.
I waited thinking she will say the reason but she just drifted off into sleep, and I followed her suit thinking to ask her the next day.
"This was my school." She said the next day showing me some old building, which seems to be not in use now.
"They have built a new one at another place." She added still folding her hands and walking little away from me.
Then she stopped at the lake and glanced at it before turning around to walk away, but I stopped holding her hand and dragged her near to the steps before settling her down and sat beside her.
"Now, you will tell me each and everything that just made you so distant from me right now. We will get to nowhere without telling each other what the actual problem is, Mridula." I said sternly.
"Yesterday! I... I thought we will, you know, but you just kissed my forehead and just slept." she mumbled frowning at me.
I laughed hearing her words, but stopped when she immediately was trying to stand up. I took a deep breath before holding her hand between by two hands.
"Mridula! You don't know what was I thinking each day holding you in my arms, but you didn't even say a word regarding my confession or anything else. I just don't want us to start something again without assurance to each other regarding where we stand unlike last time." I explained and she slowly nodded.
"I just... I just don't know what to feel about your words. I thought you would never love again in your life and now you are saying you love me." she said with a confused tone.
"I know! I am the cause for that, but it was not true that I can never love anyone else. But just that I never tried to even think I can. Now, if you ask me even after a few years I can assure you my words would be the love I have for you." I said smiling at her.
"You really love me!" she slowly mumbled, staring at my face.
"I do! Do you think there is a chance for you to still love me?" I asked and she just stared at me.
However, after a minute she opened her mouth which got disturbed with four voices calling us making both of us frown at each other.
"Wow! What a beautiful place." I heard excited Nipuna's voice.
"That's true!" I heard Amrin's voice.
"What the hell!" I mumbled, standing up and turned to see them both along with Dileep and Aahil standing near the first step to the lake.
"We will talk later for not making her call us. Now, why don't we take Mridula so that she can give us a small tour?" Nipuna said, pulling Mridula with her and walked away with Dileep and Aahil following them.
"You told her?" Amrin asked staying back with an excited expression.
"Yes!" I replied, frowning at them who are just walking away.
"And?" Amrin asked, tapping my shoulder.
"And you all arrived!" I replied through gritted teeth.
"It is your fault to waste five days." she said, glaring at me before walking away following the others.
I fumed at their backs before walking towards Aunty's house, taking out my phone and dialed mom's phone wanting to burst at someone.
"Mom! Why did you allow all of them to come here?" I asked fisting my free hand.
"Because they were not allowing me to come here alone!" I heard the reply from two places.
The one is from the phone, and the other is from my back. I turned around to see her standing there holding Aahna with a smile over her face.
"What the hell!" I mumbled, staring at her.
"Don't be so rude, Tajwar." she said, smiling before walking into the house, pushing me away while I groaned knowing well, I can't do anything about them.
