Chapter 34

####PAST IN ITALICS####

*Tajwar Pov*

I continued to have my food thinking why did Mom asked such a question with so much anger. I frowned, not getting any answer for that and glanced up to see everyone is having their food in silence.

Why are they making a big deal out of this? He just had a crush and didn't even act on it and she is now his sister-in-law. She is not even that close to him unlike with Dileep.

I frowned more before glancing at Dileep and thought why did I not know how close friends they are. I shook my head and just finished my food.

"So, who will assist you in the arrangements?" Dileep asked Mridula when we all stood up.

"Aahil!" she replied, not even looking at us and just walked away holding the dishes.

"Didn't expect that." Dileep mumbled while Mom just frowned to herself before walking away along with Dad.

"Listen Aahil..." Nipuna started to say placing her hand on his shoulder, which he swatted away and climbed the stairs.

"Why are you three brothers so stupid?" she mumbled frowning.

"Why Dileep and I am dragged into this?" I asked with Dileep standing beside me with a smirk.

"She said the same thing once. So, I really want to know the reply." He said, placing his hand on my shoulder like before, and I let him.

"You are fine now. But not your elder brother." She said looking at Dileep.

"Why?" I asked her frowning.

"Didn't you feel jealous regarding Aahil's revelation? Because all I saw was you eating." She asked folding her hands.

"Why should I even feel jealous?" I asked with a frown, thinking she is already my wife right and why would I think otherwise.

"Like I said, still stupid. Now, I need to go and get him to talk to me." She mumbled before walking away, and I shook my head before turning to greet Dileep good night only to see Mridula standing near the table with a blank expression.

"Mridula! I will write down her interests to you." Dileep said, dragging her away towards the couch, and I climbed the stairs thinking when will she return to the room.

I laid on the bed and closed my eyes feeling tired with all the talking I have done to everyone today. After some time, I felt the bed dip and turned to have a few words with her, but seems like she already slept off.

I gazed at her for a few minutes before drifting off into sleep thinking she must have been busy and didn't think about the decision.

The next day when I returned from the office, I saw her sitting on the couch along with Aahil discussing the details. She didn't even glance at me making me frown while Aahil smiled at me a little before concentrating on her words.

Even during the dinner she didn't glance at me like in the morning and continued to have her food. However, I glanced aside to see Nipuna with a sulking expression which didn't go unnoticed by anyone.

"Mridula! I think I just got an idea for the theme we can use for the decorations. We will discuss them after dinner and start calling the decorators tomorrow." Aahil said, and she nodded glancing at him.

After sometime when she still didn't return to the room, I walked outside and started climbing down the stairs, but stopped at the top of the stairs where they can't see me, but I can hear them.

"If you don't mind, can I ask you something?" I heard Mridula's hesitant voice.

"You can ask me anything, Mridula." Aahil replied.

"Why is Nipuna sad from the morning? Is it because I chose you to help me?" she asked him.

"No! It is not because of you. I am just angry at her for blurting out the thing which I asked her not to. I am not talking to her at present." He replied.

"Aahil! It is not her fault at all. Dileep was teasing her and then you started. With irritation, it just got out." She said with a sigh.

"I Know but..." he started saying which she cut him off saying, "Everyone makes mistakes, Aahil. Someone will be doing small, and someone will be doing big. Now, she must be feeling sad and guilty. That is not a good feeling, Aahil. No one should feel that and get stuck. They have to move on."

"Woah! We are not having that big issue, Mridula. It is just a couple of fights, which will solve within a few days." Aahil said.

"Why to waste some great moments in life even for those few days? Who knows how will she feel with the anger you are showing her and how will it affect her in some future situation?" She mumbled.

"You are right! She was feeling very guilty. I will talk to her after finishing this work." He said, and they both started talking about arrangements while I walked back to my room.

I stood near the door for a second with her word's ringing and moved to the cupboard before opening it. I searched for the diary and finally found it.

I glanced at her photo with Mridula's words regarding guilt playing in my head.

"No! Don't hurt her." I shouted when the man decided to end her life.

"What shall I do then? She is not accepting. This is all because of you. If not with your help, she wouldn't be here. If not for you, she would accept and live happily forever." He started taunting me.

"No, Tajwar! It is not your fault. Don't give any importance to his words. It is my fault." I heard Lavanya's pleading voice.

He placed the knife near her throat, making my heart stop with the fear, and I started tugging my hands.

"Where is all your family now? Where is anyone who can save her? Never thought you are such useless. This is her last breath because of you." He said, smirking before moved his hand.

"No, no! Don't do it. I will give you as much money you want." I said pleading him.

"Never think that this is your fault, Tajwar. He is playing with you. I love you." Lavanya said, closing her eyes, and I saw her life, leaving the body after he sliced her throat.

"See, what have you done." He said mockingly and started crying.

"I am sorry, Lavanya." I mumbled with shock.

"You are a murderer." He said before hitting me with a rod frantically everywhere while his men started asking him to leave the place.

You are right! That was not my fault, Lavanya. I should have listened to you and not that man's words. I hope you are at peace and happy.

My wife is right, Lavanya. I shouldn't be feeling all this guilt because if I had known there is a danger, then I would have done something.

I am letting the guilty go forever and not miss the special moments like she said. I am going to start having a family soon, Lavanya. And right now I am not feeling guilty that it is not with you because I really want it to be her.

Thank you for trying not to let me fall for in any of his words, despite the fact that I did. I stared at the photo for a few more minutes before placing it back and put the diary on the corner of the cupboard near the old items.

I took a deep breath and released it before turning around and walked near to the bed. I lay down and drifted off into sleep.

*Aahil Pov*

After a few minutes of discussing at the end of her advice, I frowned, thinking how Nipuna wanted to talk but I didn't even give her a second.

"I know that I said I will go after finishing this, but can we stop now itself?" I asked, and she nodded smiling.

I stood up and nearly rushed near to the stairs before climbing them and saw Tajwar Bhai climbing the stairs to his floor when I reached my room.

I frowned, but walked into the room to see Nipuna sitting on the bed holding our baby. She glanced at me, but looked down before getting up and moved towards the cradle.

I sat on the bed waiting for her, but she just stood there for a few minutes before moving to her side of the bed and sat down.

Then, without uttering a word, she laid down covering her eyes with her hand. I moved towards her and lay beside her before placing my hand over her shoulder.

"I am sorry!" I whispered to her back, but she didn't turn around.

I slowly turned her around before removing her hand, making her look at me. I gave her a small smiled before caressing her cheek.

"I shouldn't have been that much angry like always. I know it wasn't your intention. Don't be sad." I mumbled replacing my fingers to my lips.

"I pleaded with you yesterday, Aahil. You didn't budge at all. I didn't do any murder right, and no one said anything about it." She mumbled in a low tone.

"I know! What shall I do to make it up? Shall I go to shopping for baby?" I asked, and her lips curled into a smile.

"It is supposed to be making it up for me and not for you to have a great day with shopping which you love." She mumbled moving her hand around my neck.

"Am I forgiven?" I asked, and she nodded smiling.

"Am I?" she asked back and I gave her a thinking expression.

"Let me think!" I mumbled and she immediately pinched behind my neck.

"You will think? But I thought of doing this." She said, placing her lips on mine and started kissing me, but moved back when I started kissing her back.

"You want to think right? Go and do it. Why should I waste doing all this?" she said, shaking her head and started removing her hand with an evil glint.

"No, no! I don't want to waste the time, and you can start what you thought of doing." I said stopping her hand from moving.

"Really? Then I am thinking about going to sleep." She said, and I laughed shaking my head.

"I love you!" I whispered, kissing her and she tugged me more to herself whispering back her love.

*Mridula Pov*

After Aahil left, I too walked to my room only to stop near the door, seeing Tajwar standing near the cupboard holding something.

I took a step inside and understood what that is. It is the same photo I saw while searching for his friends' numbers.

I felt myself moving outside the room, seeing him lost in his thoughts and rushed downstairs. Why are you feeling the pain? Didn't you decide yesterday to let go of everything about him.

Don't feel it! I chanted to myself pacing in the living area and decided to return to the room.

"You need to let it go, Premila." I heard uncle's voice when I am walking near to the stairs and stopped moving.

"How can I? If Aahil said something about his interest, then Mridula would have been married to him, and I wouldn't have made the mistake." Aunty said, and I felt nothing but shock hearing it.

"Everything happened for a reason, and we will see what will happen." Uncle said, and I rushed towards the room.

Aahil and me? I can't even think about him in that way. It feels so wrong, and I know why as it feels he is always Nipuna's and I am Tajwar's at least until he gets back completely with his family.

I walked inside the washroom before opening the small cupboard where my items are placed and pulled out the small box.

I glanced at the pill thinking how I wanted to tell him about this until today night. But now, I don't think I want to.

I took it in and walked outside before lying on the bed with my back to him. At least, I didn't cry today and will not feel the pain soon no matter what happens.
