Chapter 27

*Tajwar Pov*

"What happened to you? And where are Aahil and Dileep? I have not seen them in the past few days for dinner." I said when she entered the room with a little hard expression.

I thought she would stay quiet or will say it is nothing like everyday whenever I ask her about something.

"Nipuna was also not there at the dining table." She pointed out.

"Yeah! I thought she was taking a rest as she is pregnant right." I mumbled and she just frowned to herself before moving toward the mirror.

"Nipuna left the house crying two days back." She slowly mumbled I frowned at her words.

"Did Aahil found out that the baby is not his?" I asked, thinking of a reason she cried and also the abrupt leaving of the house.

Within a second, I heard a shattering sound and looked up to see Mridula's hand on the table with the bangle's pieces below her hand along with a few of them on the floor.

"What happened?" I asked when she stood there closing her eyes.

"Why does everyone have to take a look at an issue always in negative? What if the baby is his? What if each one of you lost contact with your family member forever? Why does everyone around you must be wrong except you all?" she continued to ask before rushing inside the washroom, and I sat stunned in my place.

I glanced down to see blood drops on the floor and immediately moved back to the corner of the bed before closing my eyes tightly.

"Tajwar!" I heard the voice, but I just closed my eyes, wishing the blood is not there anymore.

"What happened?" I heard the voice again and felt the hands holding my face.

"Blood! There was so much blood." I continued to utter and immediately felt the hold gone.

I fisted my hands feeling every slit on my body happening repeatedly with the laughs around. I can feel the pain and felt the hands bound tightly to the wall.

"Look at me!" I heard a whisper along with a hold over my face again.

"No!" I mumbled, shaking my head and tried to move away feeling the smell of the blood like it was at the warehouse.

"Please! Just look at me." I heard it again for the third time and slowly opened my eyes only to stare at Mridula's face.

"You are fine." She mumbled, and I pulled her into my arms before hugging her tightly placing my face near her neck.

She didn't hug me back, but I didn't leave her and just continued to tighten my grip. After a few minutes, I felt her hands, hugging me back slowly, and they finally tightened.

After some time, she calmly asked, "Are you alright now? I am sorry. I didn't know that the sight of it will disturb you."

"I too don't know about it. I am fine now." I replied in a whisper with my lips pressed to her neck feeling which she stilled.

I dragged my lips from her neck to her face and moved to the corner of her lips. I saw her lips parted a little, and she is not pushing me away.

I traced hers with mine a little before moving back a little moving my hands to her waist from her back, giving space between us and her hands fell away from my back.

"How is your hand now?" I asked, holding the right palm where the bandage is covering the palm in an irregular way.

"It is fine!" she mumbled, taking it away, but didn't move away with a frown over her face.

"What is it?" I asked, lifting her chin.

"Nothing! Dileep is just staying at his flat, and we don't know the reason. Aahil is not stepping outside his room that much after Nipuna left." She replied to my questions.

"Ok!" I mumbled and stared at her face.

She stared back for a few minutes before looking away. She then moved away before lying on her side of the bed, and I laid on mine.

"Are you still angry at me?" I slowly asked and all I was met with is silence.

I shook my head before drifting off into sleep thinking why in the morning after leaving the house I think of letting her be mad or angry or whatever and not say anything but by returning I just think when would she not feel the anger anymore.

"Why are you covering the injured hand with your Saree?" I asked the next morning when we both step out of the room after she gave me the lunch.

"Aunty will ask me what happened." She mumbled covering it more.

"And?" I asked, not understanding that as a reason.

"Then I would have to say her words got repeated by her son." She replied before walking away, and I stood, feeling more than shock not for the reason that I said what Mom said but for the way Mridula pointed out which she never does.

"Mridula! When will you speak to me again? I didn't make her leave the house, right?" I heard Mom asking her when I climbed down the stairs and can hear the sadness in Mom's voice.

"I am talking normally." Mridula mumbled, and I walked near to the dining area in another shock as I have never expected Mom to talk like that with her daughter-in-law.

"When did you start lying, Mridula?" Mom asked and stopped saying anything else when she saw me.

"What is it?" she asked me with anger tone and my mouth literally open wide.

"I... I forgot to say that I can be late for dinner." I replied to Mom to which she nodded, but Mridula walked away at this time.

I too walked away not understanding what is actually going on and how I just lied which I never do. Maybe I should just come home late like I said to make it true.

"Sir! We have a new scheduled meeting, and I thought of asking your permission to accept it." I heard my assistant's voice.

"Sure! But set it to the time I ask you to and not theirs." I said before, writing down the main things we need to do for this meeting before asking him to leave me alone for sometime.

I entered the home near to ten o'clock to see that all the lights are switched off and then glanced at the dining area which is completely empty right now.

Probably she didn't wait for me for the anger she is feeling on me for the past few days. I entered the room thinking to just go to sleep having no interest to go and get some food from the kitchen.

However, I stopped in my tracks seeing the food on the table with her sitting on the chair with her hand leaning back and seems like sleeping.

"Did you have your food?" I asked, and she woke up startled by the time I sat before her.

She blinked at me before rubbing her eyes a little and started serving me along with her. I glanced at the small bandage which is still not correctly covered and thought how will she eat.

"What?" she asked when she saw me looking at her hand.

"Did you bring a spoon?" I asked, to which she shook her head in negative.

"How will you eat then? How did you have lunch?" I asked, and she looked at her hand not meeting my stare.

"I forgot to take it. The bandage is not near my fingers." She replied before moving it to mix the food, and I stopped her hand.

"First of all, the bandage is not in a correct way and the cream or powder must be coming out every time. And second of all, I don't think you have to move your hand like that." I said, and she stared at me frowning.

"I did it myself with my left and I know it is not correct." She mumbled taking her hand away.

"You got wounded because of me, so let me help you today and from tomorrow onwards don't forget the spoon." I said before pulling her chair near to me around the table, and she squealed at the sudden moment but sat in silence.

"So, you are angry at Mom too?" I asked, moving the first bite near to her mouth.

She opened her mouth to answer, but just had the food without saying a word and shook her head in negative.

"Great! You never got angry for the deceiving part, but is when she said something about another person." I said shaking my head.

"I... I just never expected that from her and feeling hurt not anger." She mumbled when I looked up to give her another bite.

"Hurt!" I mumbled, thinking what else can I say to such a reply and just continued to feed her which she took reluctantly.

"I am full! Thanks for this." She mumbled moving back, and I nodded before finishing my food.

"Maid will take them tomorrow." I mumbled placing them at the door entrance, and she nodded.

She stood up and started walking near to the bed, but I stopped holding her hand and started pulling her to the washroom ignoring her questions.

"Those wounds will never recover if it is not given proper treatment." I mumbled before slowly started opening the bandage.

"There will be blood." She mumbled stopping me, and I glanced at her.

"You are here to stop them right." I mumbled and opened the bandage fully and saw that all the blood got drained.

I took a deep breath, and she placed her hand over my chest after which I started cleaning it and completed the covering of it with a bandage.

"Thanks for this." She mumbled moving away to step back, but I stopped circling her waist with my hand and pulled her to me.

"You took care of me so much, Mridula. No need to thank me." I mumbled, and she looked up staring at my face.

"I have work tomorrow." She mumbled but didn't move away from my hold.

"I know!" I mumbled back, releasing her, and she turned away to walk but suddenly turned back before rushing to me and hugged me tightly.

I hugged her back and heard her whisper 'why do I love you so much?'. I didn't know what to say so I kept quiet before moving my head back to stare at her face.

"You have work tomorrow." I mumbled to which she slowly smiled and pressed her head to my chest again tightly.

"Yeah!" she slowly whispered and stepped back before we both walked outside the washroom and walked near to the bed.

We both lay on the bed and turned towards each other after switching off the lights. I closed my eyes after placing my hand over hers and felt her holding it back making me open my eyes.

She leaned forward before pecking my lips and immediately moved back, but I didn't let her move away completely and pulled her more to me before crashing my lips.

When she stilled, I released her and was about to move away understanding her reluctance, thinking she remembered my stupid words again.

However, she moved along with me and again kissed me after placing my arms around her. I stared at her face thinking she must be feeling uncomfortable or something, but seems like she is not.

"It is ok!" she mumbled, closing her eyes and pressed her lips over mine.

That's all she has to say, and I turned her back, making her lay on her back before placing her injured hand away and kissed her more passionately.

"Don't regret it tomorrow." I whispered pestering the kisses along her throat.

"I can never." She whispered back before hugging me, and I moved my hands along her body wishing she will not.
