Chapter 19

*Tajwar Pov*

"What?" I asked when she just stared at me and didn't stop doing it from the moment I stepped inside the room, and now I even got freshen up.

"Nothing! I will go downstairs." she replied, frowning and moved to reach the door, but I stopped holding her hand.

"What did I tell you about lying?" I asked raising my eyebrow.

"Do you hate lying that much? You always use the same sentence." she asked back, to which I nodded, accepting that I really hate the lying part.

"We will talk later. Now, I have to go and arrange the dining table." she mumbled smiling and tried to get her hand released from my grip.

"Do you have to do all that? I am feeling hungry now." I said, frowning to which she chuckled before staring at me with a serious look.

"Why don't you come downstairs and have the food with all of them?" I released her hand as usual hearing the same question, and I am giving her same reaction but she is not at all getting tired of this.

After a half an hour she returned with our food and sat before me while I moved away the files so that she can place the tray on the coffee table.

I can observe her staring at me for every few minutes and opening her mouth but again closing it. I questioned her again, but she again replied there is nothing.

"Can I ask you something?" she asked after returning from downstairs taking away the empty dishes.

"What is it?" I asked, sitting on the bed.

"I never asked for anything from you." she started saying and I immediately coughed at her words.

"Ok! I never asked for anything from you for my sake." She repeated changing the sentence a little bit, and I nodded accepting it.

"Will you do something for me?" she slowly asked making me frown.

"Do I have to write the cheque?" I asked back to which she frowned.

"Cheque?" she asked, frowning more.

"You want to shop for something right and asking for money. I am asking you, whether I need to give it in liquid cash or cheque form." I explained.

"You still think I am in this marriage for money?" she asked with a pained voice before moving away to get down from the bed, but I stopped holding her hand.

Why does she always run away like this, and I just have to hold her whenever she does that? I thought to myself frowning.

"I didn't say that now, Mridula. It is not a bad thing to shop and that too using my money." I said in a normal voice after which she slowly turned around before rubbing her eyes.

"You have to do something for me." she mumbled pleading a little.

"What is it? Tell me about it and I will think whether I can do it or not." I said, shrugging and she fidgeted with her hands while shaking her head.

"Ok! I will do it for sure." I added and she immediately sighed in relief.

"Aahil got the party ticket, and they are going to have a party for tomorrow evening. Can you attend it?" her question made me still at my place, and I slowly released her hand, before moving away from her.

However, she suddenly held my hand between hers before I could move completely and started babbling " Please Tajwar! You can stay for as much time as you want, but just attend it. Your brother will feel more than happy, and it will reduce so much difference, and everyone else will also be happy."

"There will be just so many people. I can't attend it." I said, sighing and she stopped her babbling for a second hearing my words.

"I will be there with you. And it will be a lot easier for you because the room will be just a few steps away. Just once do this. I really wish that you attend this." she pleaded, holding my face while kneeling before me on the bed, and I just stared at her.

"What if I create a scene and spoil the whole party? What if the distance increases more after this? What if I just scream seeing something to which I may have got some phobia or something?" I continued to ask while she stared at me with a dejected look over her face.

After a few minutes of staring, she slowly leaned into my face and kissed me, which is definitely not a peck like she does normally before moving back while I sat there in silence feeling surprised.

"I will try my best not to let any bad thing to happen and make sure no 'what if' enter tomorrow's party." she said with a confidence while looking into my eyes.

"Fine! But you can't decide the time. I can even stay for just a minute." I said, surprising myself and she squealed before throwing her arms around me and hugged me tightly while I hugged her back a little.

"Thank you so much." she whispered before moving her head back a little so that she can stare at my face.

"Are you really thanking me because I accepted to attend my brother's success party?" I asked, raising my eyebrow to which she laughed and leaned her head on my shoulder sighing.

"You don't know, but I am really happy." she whispered before we both stared at each other and kissed passionately and drifted off into the passion.

"You will be fine." She continued to mumble from the past few hours, and she would have done that from the morning itself, but I went for office and stayed there until it is near to the evening when everyone is busy with arrangements, and no one saw me except Mridula.

"I can hear my mom calling you. You can go downstairs, and I will be there when I wish to." I said and she slowly nodded, finishing the arrangement of my tie as I had to wear a suit for the party.

After she left I let the nerves and different thoughts entering my head. How did I accept her wish like this and letting myself go into a torture?

If she was even a little different in her character than now, then I wouldn't have given a damn to her. I shook my head before moving towards the door and walked outside reaching the stairs.

When I nearly reached the ground floor, I saw her talking to Aahil with a worried face making me frown. Nonetheless, I shrugged it off before reaching down completely and immediately saw Mridula rushing near to me.

"I really got worried thinking you will not be here." she mumbled smiling at me, and I glanced around to see Aahil along with my parents giving me shocked looks making me wish I am not here.

"I shouldn't be here!" I stated before moving a little to take a step back, but she immediately held my hand tightly.

"They are pleased that you are here. Just give it a chance." she mumbled pleading with her eyes.

"I need something to drink." I said, clearing my throat, and she nodded.

"What do you want?" she asked smiling.

"I thought you know me enough to know my choice after nearly four months of marriage. So, go and select one as per my taste." I replied, shrugging hearing, which she frowned shaking her head in negative.

"Bring me my correct drink otherwise I will leave the party. If you bring the right one, then I will stay for at least for an hour." I said challenging her, and she frowned but walked away in a rush.

The moment she took off, I moved far from the few guests present and stood in a corner. This challenge will be keeping her busy for sometime, and I can stay here without meeting anyone.

However, after a few minutes, I saw my two brothers walking near to me making my plan fail completely.

"How are you, Bhai?" Dileep asked when they reached near me, and I nodded, not getting the words coming out of my throat.

"I am glad that you are here, Bhai." Aahil said, smiling to which I again nodded.

"Do you need anything to drink?" He asked me, and I know that I can't nod for this too.

"Mridula left to bring me my drink." I replied normally finally opening my mouth.

"Everyone is here to meet you, Aahil. Go and meet them." I added when I know that we can never be like before and hoped that they just walk away so that I will not feel worse for this distance between us.

They both nodded and walked away with pained looks and at the same time Mridula reached near to me passing between them holding the drink which is really my favorite.

"Didn't I tell you that everything will start getting back to normal? I am so glad that you spent some time with your brothers." she said, grinning after handing over the drink.

"It was a disaster, Mridula. However, as promised, I will stay for some more time." I said and walked away when she frowned at me.

I didn't meet anyone, but I can see her wherever she walked taking care of almost everything but didn't stop glancing at me every time she gets a chance to.

I placed the glass on the near table before walking near to the main door when I saw her walking near it. After talking about taking care of the cars properly with watchmen, she turned around only to crash into me.

"What are you doing here?" she asked, but I didn't reply and just dragged her more into the lawn and pressed her to the wall with my body.

"What are you doing?" she asked in a whisper, taking in a deep breath.

"I am going to kiss you." I replied, pressing my lips to her neck and slowly pestered the kissed along the neck and her throat.

"Amrin!" she slowly whispered, making me stop whatever I am doing, thinking that someone caught us.

"No one is there." I said, looking around, but she moved a little before glancing inside through the window beside her.

I too followed her suit and saw a girl standing in a corner looking around with a scared expression. Maybe we should go ahead and help her! I thought, frowning.

"She is Amrin! I met her when I was sending a prayer for God so that the drink I chose is your favorite. She is Dileep's girlfriend." Mridula started explaining while adjusting her saree which I kind of crumbled here and there while holding her.

"She must be scared of Aunty." She added making me frown.

"Why?" I asked, not understanding her words.

"She is Dileep's girlfriend or mistress as called by everyone. Aunty hates that he is having such relations and wants to get him married. So, she must be showing all the anger on her. We need to go and talk to her." she replied, but I already moved my hands to stop her.

"No need for that." I said, remembering how mom too gave the same treatment for Lavanya, and no one helped her at that time so why should we now.

"What? But why?" Mridula asked, frowning.

After a few minutes of stopping her and her asking me the reason for it, I finally said, "What should I do so that you will not go there right now?"

She frowned before glancing back into the window, but I didn't look away from her face, and she looked back at me before asking, "Anything?"

I got a little surprised by her question as I thought I would just have to fight more for the kind of heart, she had, but maybe I don't know her that much. I slowly nodded, to which she smiled.

"Promise?" she asked forwarding her hand, and I placed my hand on her promising her that I will do whatever she wants me to.

"Have dinner with the family from today onwards." The moment she said the words, I found myself stiff in my stance while she just stared at me.

"Fine!" I finally said, feeling the anger at myself for starting this in the first place, but got sidetracked when she squealed before kissing me holding my face in her arms.

After she released me, I glanced back at the girl, but saw that she is not there anymore, making me frown, and I turned to look at Mridula.

"When you started the proposal, Dileep was reaching near her, and they both walked away." She explained and looked at me little warily.

Before I could say anything she immediately added, "You promised me, and you do each thing, you promise."

"As she already left, you considered going along with my words." I stated and she slowly nodded while I sighed.

"Fine! Now, I am leaving the party and will have food in the room." I said rubbing my forehead.

"Sure! I will see to the serving arrangements and bring the food as soon as I can." She said, nodding and I walked away hoping I can reach the room without making anyone see me.

I don't have the mood to keep it together and may even burst out with anyone after realizing what deal I have just done.

I need to become more careful with this girl! I thought, entering the room and thinking about how will I be able to manage to go along with the deal.
