Chapter 03: Sadness Everywhere

February, 16, 1891

Author's POV

It's already night time, here in the Kingdom of Roselia. All the maids are either busy cleaning up themselves, or Picking up after the Princesses.

But, one Princess seems to be like running away, from somebody. Well, to be more exact, the Maids. The Princess seems like she's used to this, well, she has been running away from them ever since she was five years old.

While she was, running away, she heard somebody shouting, in a nearby room. She quickly searched for that room. While she was searching, she can also hear things being thrown, onto the ground.

When, she found the room, she knew that it her Father's Study Room; there was a female voice, and a Male Voice, shouting at each other.

"But you know she's still so young!?" The Female Voice, said.

Knowing that Voice well, she was shocked. As she murmured a question out of her mouth.

"Mother?" The Little Princess asked.

"But, this is for our kingdom!!" The Male voice said arguing back to the female voice.

She was once again, shocked. As she heard another super familiar voice.

"Father?" The Little Princess asked.

"For our kingdom?! How about her?! Did you even think about our baby's future?!" The female voice, making her voice louder than before, and then followed by something shattering inside.

"Of course, I'm aware of that! But, our kingdom needs the heir to throne to handle the kingdom!" The male voice said.

The Princess, is aware of her handling, the Kingdom, once she reaches the proper age, or if her Father steps down. But, there was one thing that keeps bugging her. 'What are they talking about?' The little princess thought. That made the little princess more curious. So, in curiosity she slowly opened the door, and peeked in the room, to see what was going on, and just to make sure if it is them.

"So, our only choice now is our..." The male said, but suddenly lowering his voice. But was already confirmed that it is him.

But, even though, he lowered his voice, the Princess can still hear the next thing, he said.

"Baby Girl..." The King said, while tears are threatening to fall.

"Do you think, I want to see her get married at such a young age? And to somebody who she doesn't even know or Love?" The King said.

"I-." The Queen said, but got cut off.

"Well, if you think yes. Then you're, wrong. I don't want to control her life. I want her to marry somebody she loves." The King said.

After that, it finally hit her; they were talking about her little sister. Her, little sister, that is innocent, who knows nothing about life yet.

It was seemingly quiet, in the room. After a few long minutes, but that didn't last long. As the Queen, suddenly shouted, once again.

"Well, then. Why did you do that?! Making her get married, at such a young age!" The Queen said, obviously shouting at the King.

"That's why we're, still discussing about it! We aren't that dumb enough, to make them marry each other super young!" The King said, obviously trying to reason out with the Queen.

"Well, since you guys are still talking about it. What's the age, you guys, were discussing, for them to get married at?" The Queen said.

Meanwhile, outside, the Little Princess is still, eavesdropping on her parents.

"The last time we, decided, they should get at least married at the age of twelve." The King said.

"What?! Yoongi? That's too young!" The Queen said retorted back at the King.

"She's only seven!" The Queen said, still putting up an argument with the King.

"She's going to get married at twelve?!" The Little Princess said, and stumbled back a bit.

After she stumbled, she bumped into the vase, on the opposite side of the door. The vase fell to the floor and made a sound. The princess quickly stood up and looked at the mess she made. She knows for sure she will get scolded, because of this. She quickly got lost in her own thoughts, and stood up there as if something just passed by her way.

"What was that?" The King asked.

"I don't know, I'll take a look." The Queen said, and quickly opened the door and saw the Little Princess, standing still looking at the ground.

"Ryujin? What are you doing here?" The Queen said, while still looking at the Little Princess.

Ryujin's POV

I heard my, Mother's voice and quickly turned around to see her.

"Mother..." I said, while looking at her, and tears are threatening to fall off my eyes.

"Is it true?" I asked Mother, although I already knew the answer well. But I still, need confirmations from them.

"What's true, sweetheart?" She asked, obviously lying to me.

"Nayeon, stop lying to her. Obviously she knows what we talked about." Father said, and looked at me.

"Yoongi! You're not helping!" Mother said, scolding Father.

"Sweetheart, Can you please forget what you heard and saw today?" Mother asked me, and kneeled down right in front of me.

"So, it is true." I said, and looked at the two of them.

"Sweetheart..." Father said, calling out to me.

"How can you guys do that to her!? She's still so young and innocent! She still doesn't know anything about life yet! And you guys are literally making her marry somebody she doesn't know!" I said, shouting at the both of them, and left running towards my bedroom.

It may, be rude to some, but, I don't care what they say about me. I only care about what will happen to my little sister. She doesn't deserve this. She's only seven for crying out loud!

'No matter what happens, I want you to stay here, and never leave this place where you grew up and had so much fun memories. I'd rather give up my position for you to stay here.'

Ryujin's POV

It's been four months, since the incident happened. The incident that I will never forget, until my next life.

I am currently in the Castle Library, studying about medicine. It's fascinating to know about these things, it might help you in any situation.

I was so into reading this book called: "The Life of Herbs & Medicines". When a maid called me, to be exact, my personal maid, the only one that I can't escape, as she knows me better than any other maid, in the Kingdom.

"Princess Ryujin?" I heard somebody ask, but I already knew who it was, it was my personal maid.

"Yes? What is it?" I said, in return, while closing the book I was reading earlier.

I quickly stood up and walked towards a cart of books, and placed that book on top of another.

"The Queen has been calling you for the past ten minutes, for breakfast." My maid said, informing me, while walking towards me.

"Okay, I'll go there now. Be sure to have all these books, inside my bedroom, with the things on this list." I said, and gave her a list, that had herbs, and some equipment for medicinal.

She looked at the list and read some of the things that were written there.

"A rose? And some water? Isn't these the ingredients to make- Rose Water." I said, cutting her off.

"Wait, what is this for? Rose Water is known for Its perfume like smell, it can either be a Perfume or Medicine. Also, it can contribute something to your skin. It will reduce the redness of the user's skin, right?" She asked me.

"Yeah, and I'm planning to give it to my Little Sister. You know? Since, I have been with her the last few months, since, I've been busy." I said, while showing my smile.

She continued to read the list, as it went on and on.

"Feverfew, leaves? Mortar and Pestle? Are you suddenly planning to start a Pharmacy? Or are you just making these for you? When, you know? You're sick and all?" She asked, while tilting her head to the side.

"Do you know what Feverfew leaves are for right?" I asked her and went over to the door, while holding the handle.

"Umm... basing on its name. It's for the Fever?" She asked.

"Correct! Well, I'm going now, Mother would be mad, if I got there any later than now. Well, remember what I said earlier okay." I said, and was about to walk out.

"Wait! Princess! I just want to ask one more thing!" She said, getting my attention.

"Hmm? What is it?" I asked her, while turning around.

"Well, we have Court Herbalists, here in our own Kingdom, so why do you have to do all these things?" She asked.

"Well, I just wanted to experience it for myself." I said, and quickly left the room before she asks me any more questions, and made way towards the dining room.

Finally! I'm already done, with the Rose Water! I just hope, she'll like it. I've spent hours just to get this perfected!

I quickly got some of the Rose petals and the Basket; I got earlier, and put the rose petals in it. Then, lastly the Rose Water. It was in a Container of a Perfume, and it had a Pink Ribbon tied to it. As well, as the Basket's handle.

I quickly, went towards the door of my Study room, and went out, quickly walking towards Her Bedroom, as I know she will be there, she's either playing or sleeping.

As soon as I, reached her bedroom, I quickly knocked and waited for her response.

"Who is it?" She asked.

"It's Ryujin, open up!" I said, while smiling and looking at the basket at hand, and started swaying it.

"Come in!" She said, as she said that, I got a hold of the handle of the door and opened it, while I was entering I hid the basket behind my back.

"Hey. How are you?" I asked her.

"Don't you 'Hey' me. You neglected me! You didn't play with me or talk with me for the past few months!" She said, while throwing a tantrum, and at the end of it pouted like a baby.

"Okay, okay. I know what I did, was wrong, but I'm here to give you a gift." I said, and walked towards her.

I quickly gave her the Basket that contained the Rose Water. She looked at me and the basket again and again. She was totally silent, which is why, I find it super strange. As, it's actually the opposite of her personality.

"What you don't like it?" I asked her, and kind of low-key panicked.

"No, it's not that. I mean, you're giving me, this, and knowing you, you don't want to give anyone, anything that, you didn't do or get it yourself." She said, while trying to fight her tears back.

"Oh, don't cry, please. I just feel bad, if I didn't give anything for compensation." I said, while trying to comfort her.

"Okay, But! Promise me! You'll never leave my side! Ever again!" She said, and held her pinky finger towards me, and smiled.

I quickly took her pinky finger.

"I promise!" I said, while smiling.

But, then, the incident came back to my mind. The moment she gets married to that guy, she'll be leaving me alone. After a few more moments, before I even knew it, I was lost in my own thought once more.

But, no matter what.

'I'll always be here for you. No matter where you are, No matter how far we are. I'll always be here, supporting you every step of the way.'
