Chapter 21

Planning their wedding was a lot simpler than Deva thought since Izzy had been planning it for a while now. Izzy had predicted a wedding would happen so she took the liberty of taking care of a few things. All Deva had to do was have a few inputs on flowers and colors but other than that Izzy had Deva's style of wedding down to a perfect estimate.

It was all happening so fast but Deva didn't mind in the least. She wanted to be married to Darius as soon as possible. There was no point in waiting. She knew what she wanted and what she couldn't live without and that was Darius. He was all she needed.

Deva found herself being strapped into a wedding dress by very rough and demanding hands. The dressmaker was known for her magnificent dresses and had been working on the future Queen's dress for months.

Once the last ribbon was tied and tucked away Izzy, Julia, and Elle all gave her a blank awestruck look.

Deva couldn't hold the suspense any longer she had to see what she looked like in her custom made wedding dress. She turned to the mirror and held her breath.  She couldn't believe how perfect the dress was.

The gorgeous white lace material covered her top to bottom. The bodice was hugging her curvy hips but slowly and gently flared out to a full skirt. Deva ran her hand down the perfect gown.

"This is my dress," Deva gawked, suddenly the moment turned to reality.

Izzy stood up quickly. "Yes Deva. It's absolutely perfect for you."

Deva nodded. She couldn't agree more. It was all sinking in now. She was a bride; she was going to get married. All of it was hitting home so fast. In less than a few hours Deva would be married to Darius.

There was only one night separating them from being husband and wife and also King and Queen.

Elle hugged her sister. "You look beautiful."

"Thanks."

Deva and the girls spent the rest of the day going over minor details for the wedding. Most of it was already settled thanks to Izzy and Julia's handy work.

Deva made her way towards the kitchen, a place she hadn't visited in a while. And like old times she found Chef scrambling things over a pot.

Antonio lifted his head as soon as he heard someone enter. His face lit up and he went to her to engulf her in a tight bear hug.

"Aww bella congratulation."

"Thank you." She took a step back and he led her to a chair.

"I have been preparing a feast for your wedding and with all of your favorite foods," he said handing her a plate to taste.

"It's going to be wonderful. Thank you. I love your food." She waited a moment before asking him something that had been on her mind for a while now.

"Antonio?"

"Yes bella."

She took his hand in her own. "Since I've come to this place you have shown me nothing but kindness and I'm so grateful for that. I was wondering if you would walk me down the aisle. You have treated me like a daughter and I consider you a father figure so..."

His bright warm smile told her enough. "I would be honored."

Deva got up and hugged him one more time. "Thank you for helping me when I needed it."

It was a peaceful night and Deva was all alone in her room. The girls were planning a huge sleepover in tribute to Deva's last night as a single woman but thought better of it when they noticed small bags under Deva's eyes.

Apparently she needed a beauty sleep desperately but the anticipation of what tomorrow was bringing kept her from doing just that.

She was debating on whether she should sneak into Darius' room or not. She always got a good night sleep when she was in his arms.

"Deva," a low voice from behind broke her from her thoughts.

"Loosh." She was quite happy to see him. "What brings you here?"

"Darius can't sleep either so I figured I'd check up on you." He rubbed his chin dramatically. "Seems you have the same problem."

Deva slumped on the coach. "I guess so." She bit her lip. "You know if Vegas was an option I would totally take it."

Lucian chuckled and sat down next to her. "You know I could honestly see it." He threw his hands in the air, like he was envisioning something. "Future vampire King and Queen run away and get hitched in a small Las Vegas chapel. The newspapers would run for days on that scandal. Oh yes," he mocked. "I can definitely see it."

She shoved him playfully. "Whatever."

"I'm sorry Deva," he calmed his laughter. "What is really bothering you? Is it the crowd of people, actually being crowned, or is it marrying my brother?"

"I guess it is the crowd. The fuss people make about it, about us. I want to marry Darius. I want that more than anything in the world." She shut her eyes. "I just wish it was done and over with...And what I really, really want is for it to be me and Darius. No kingdom, no responsibilities, and no distractions. Just me and Darius."

A warm smile spread across his face. "And I promise you will get that as soon as you say 'I dos'."

Deva relaxed a bit and inched closer to him when he pulled her into a hug. "Loosh?"

"Mmmm."

She was afraid to ask him but it had been eating at her conscience. She had to know and he was the only one with an answer.

"Is he okay? Was...was he okay when you took him away?"

Lucian shifted his eyes from the ceiling back to her. He understood immediately who she was talking about. Adamarius.

"He was a beaten man when I left him Deva. You know better than any what it feels like to have your heart ripped out of your chest."

That she did. "Where did you take him?" She hoped somewhere far.

"The human world but he is a royal. He can easily find his way back." He felt her stiffen and tried to ease her mind. "I don't think he would try anything thou. He loves you and I think he loves you enough to let you go. Even after all the lies and betrayal, I honestly think all he wants is your happiness."

He had to be right. She couldn't risk thinking otherwise.

"Thank you Loosh for coming here and calming me down."

He squeezed her tight then stood. "Anything for you future sis."

Deva rolled her eyes and watched him leave. More thoughts of Adamarius filled her mind. He was going to be okay, she knew it. He would move on just like she was.

Deep down inside she honestly knew something was wrong with him from the beginning. She sensed it but chose to look past it. She wanted him and used him to distract her from the pain Darius had caused her. In the beginning it didn't mean anything to her. Their relationship was nothing but he somehow made his way into her heart.

But once Darius was clear of Red all the hatred and pain vanished and was replaced with the lost feelings of love she had once possessed for him and only him. Yes Adamarius was a huge part of her life but it was always going to be Darius.

Adamarius may have stolen her first kiss but it was Darius who had stolen her heart above all others. She was too stupid and naive to see it before. It was always going to be Darius.

Deva ran down the corridor as quietly as she could then scrambled to open his door. And like Lucian told her Darius was in no way sleeping.

"Deva?" He asked confused but overall thrilled at the sight of her.

Deva jumped in his arms and was very aware he was wearing no shirt over his perfectly sculpted muscles. "It was always you."

"What are you talking about?"

Her eyes locked onto his gaze. "You weren't my second choice. Just because Marius betrayed us and was forced to leave doesn't mean I chose you just because you were left."

He wasn't saying anything and she wasn't sure if she was making the matter worse.

"It couldn't be him because you had already stolen my heart Darius. There was nothing left for him...only fragments and shadows of what was left behind."

Deva moved in and sensually pecked his lips. She had to get this off her chest.

"I'm sorry. I was so blind and stubborn to the true. It was always going to be you Dar."

His lips came crashing down on hers. "Thank you for telling me."

"I had to tell you."

Darius lifted her into his arms and brought her over to the bed were they both cuddled comfortably.

"I think we can both sleep soundly now."

Deva ran her fingers down the hard rippled planes of his chest. "Yes, I agree."

He laughed and kissed her forehead. "I can't wait to make you my wife."

She lifted her head slightly. "Who said you have to wait?"

Her response completely caught him off guard but he reacted quickly, rubbing his thumb inside her shirt on her soft skin.

"Don't tempt me sweetheart," he graveled out.

"What, don't you want me?"

"Don't be ridiculous Deva. I would want nothing more than to rip your clothes off and have my way with you, many ways with you, but we are getting married in approximately three hours." He kissed her forehead gently. "We need to sleep but don't worry we'll have plenty of time for the husband and wife duties once this is all over."

She snuggled closer to him. "I guess you're right. Sweet dreams my vampire muffin."

"Sweet dreams my beautiful future wife."

Deva stood in her white wedding gown feeling like she was on top of the world. Everything she had gone through; the pain, the heartache, the sacrifice, had all led up to this moment. This wonderful and unforgettable moment that every girl dreamt of as a child. She was going to marry her best friend, protector, King, and the love of her life.

This moment could not be ruined by anyone or anything. Even if it rained, Deva would welcome it with open arms as long as she got to marry Darius.

The ceremony was going to be outside were all could see and even the lycans could join. Everything was elegantly placed and decorated. Purple and silver silk fabrics were draped down and around the aisle; unique exotic rare flowers were covering any surface that needed a dash of color. But the image was not complete without the romantic lit candles.

The sun was already out of the sky once the music began to play, giving Deva her cue to walk down. Izzy, Julia, and Elle had all reached the end, looking gorgeous in their deep purple silk dresses. Deva took hold of Antonio's outstretched arm and they started making their way towards the alter.

'Deep breaths' she kept reminding herself but once her eyes landed on Darius she didn't need the reminder.

Everything disappeared. Darius' face was spewing with emotions: happiness, anticipation, adoration, and above all else love.

They finally reached the front and Antonio gave her a gentle kiss on the cheek before handing her over to Darius. He stood tall in his black tailor suit while his eyes scanned over her face. Darius wanted to remember every detail of the glorious moment.

The minister then began saying a few words that were blurred out in their own worlds. They were too focused on each other to take in his words or the crowd surrounding them and watching their every move.

Darius opened his mouth to speak once the minister had stopped.

"I love you Deva with my mind, body, and soul. Since I met you, you have challenged me and pushed me to be a better man, a man worthy enough for your love. For so long I have wandered this earth with a sense of emptiness but that changed once I met you. You are my other half, my better half."

She squeezed his hands to give him her support.

"I promise to always love you, to always comfort you, and protect you all the days of my life. I will never love another or let anything stand in the way of us. You are my life, my Queen, my love, and my wife. For you I live and you alone."

Deva had two tears running down her cheeks by the end of his vows. "I love you Darius from the bottom of my heart, I do. You have always looked out for me even when I felt like I didn't exist to you. I come to you in my many messed up forms and yet you always have your arms open for me. I trust you and love you with every fiber of my being."

His thumb went up to her cheek and wiped her sweet tears.

"I promise to love and cherish you and only you for all the days of my life. I will not let anything come between us. Our love is like no other. We have gone through so much pain but in the end, my love, it has made us stronger. It will grow with each new day; I can promise you that."

She took his hand and kissed his knuckles.

"You are my life, my King, my love, and my husband. For you I live and you alone."

After the quick I dos the minister finished the ceremony with a few words. "Vampires and Lycans alike I now present to you the new King and Queen, husband and wife, of our kingdom."

Cheers and applauds were coming from every directions. Howls were thrown up to the moon to congratulate the new union.

Darius cupped Deva's face and pulled her into a kiss. The passionate lingering kiss was long awaited.

"My wife," Darius whispered with a smirk.

"My husband." The simple word sparked something in her that she had never felt before.

Husband.

When thinking of Darius the word came naturally. This was how it was meant to be. He was her soul mate; she could feel it in her bones. Her forever started now, with her new life and her husband. It was just the beginning.

Darius stared in amazement at his beautiful blushing wife as she danced with his brother. Happiness was etched on her face clear as day. Her laughter filled the room when Marcus leaned towards her to whisper something Darius could not hear himself.

Darius just couldn't believe that she was finally his. He had wanted her so long that to finally have the privilege to call her his wife was unreal.

In reality Darius knew that he would have waited centuries if it meant he could be with her. He felt it, deep down in his soul, that they were meant to be with each other. There was no one else for him.

Deva stopped her movements and turned her head to lock her eyes on him, like she knew he was staring at her. Her glowing radiance overpowered the room and also took his breath away.

Deva whispered a few words to Marcus before letting him go and turning in the direction of her husband.

Her smile grew wider with each step she made towards him, in turn making him smile as well. Deva took hold of his hands.

"Does my husband not dance?"

The word husband coming from her lips was the sweetest sound he had ever heard. "Only when he pleases."

She pouted which only made him chuckle. "Not even on your wedding day?"

Darius stayed silent till she finally gave in.

"Alright husband. What would please you?"

Darius grinned down at his wife before leaning close to her ear and whispering. "I want to take you away, where it will only be me and you."

Deva snaked her arms under his suit and around his torso. "That would also please your wife...very much."

His eyes glistened with lust at the thought of her agreement. He mentally called his brother Lucian who came up behind them to quickly teleport them to their new destination.

Lucian was gone by the time Deva gathered her wits and studied her surroundings. They were in an open room with no walls but clear windows. It gave them a magical three-sixty view of the setting sun.

She was pulled into a trance by the stunning view of the drop off. They were on top of a cliff and surrounded by open blue water.

"Would you care for some wine sweetheart?"

Deva turned to the sound of his voice to find him sipping from a cup. Instead of taking the cup he was offering, Deva got on her tippy toes and savored the taste of wine from his lips through a kiss.

"Mmm it tastes much better coming from your lips."

Darius' hand instantly went to the back of her neck and pulled her forwards. Their lips collided and in the heat of passion the world disappeared again. They were the only ones existing.

Deva began to quickly unbutton his shirt while Darius gently and rapidly unlaced her bodice. Her big white lace gown fell to the floor as did Darius' dress shirt. Deva's eyes scanned the flawless plains of his glorious chest. She caught him doing the same before he pulled her back into his arms and feverishly devouring her mouth.

Deva moaned with pleasure and felt his hands at her calves before lifting her off the ground. She wrapped her legs around his abs and he carried her to the bed.

"I love you," he moaned a sweet caress to her ear.

"Then show me."

She couldn't describe how much she loved him or how long she had waited to finally be with him.

Darius cradled her face, so lovingly.

"Only you my sweet Deva. I can only love you."

Their lips locked once again and Darius showed her that night just how much he really loved her.

Deva couldn't wipe the stupid smile off her face. It was five in the morning and they still haven't gotten any shut eye. She couldn't describe the amazing sensations she got when Darius was proving his love to her.

She felt him kiss her forehead.

"You should sleep sweetheart. You're tired. I wore you out."

Deva laughed at the thought. "Oh my dear sweet husband have you forgotten I'm a hybrid. I could out last anything longer than you."

Darius smirked at the truth and didn't say anything else. He was over the moon with happiness.

Deva rested her head on his chest and felt his hand rub strokes down her lower back. Nothing could ruin this moment.

"I want children," she whispered.

He kissed her hair. "How many?"

Deva got up on her elbow and stared down at him.

"Depends. How many little girls that look and act just like me can you handle?"

"As many as I can get. Truth is I probably won't be able to deny them anything."

She smiled and knew he was telling the truth. He was going to spoil the crap out of them.

"And what about you? How many little mini mes can you handle? After all with my genes we're bound to have a multiple of something."

Deva pressed her lips to his bulging chest muscles. Tingles ran through his body at the simple touch she aroused in him.

"I don't know."

Darius clawed his hand through her hair and forced her head up. "I love you Deva."

"I love you more."

Darius shook his head. "That's not possible."

She didn't say anymore because no matter how many times she were to tell him she loved him more he won't believe her. Deva knew deep down she did love him more than her words could ever describe. She hoped that his denial were not due to the fact of Adamarius.

She hated the idea of Darius not believing she loved him more.

"Ten."

Darius had his eyes shut but they fluttered open at her random comment. "Ten what?"

"I want ten kids."

Darius chuckled. "Shall we start now?" He said seductively while gently spreading her legs apart.

"Ha-ha yes."
