Chapter 14

Maturish Content in this chapter. You were warned.

The next day turned for the worst. Deva woke up with massive pain but it wasn't her head. It was her lower stomach from cramps. She cursed herself for not checking the calendar. It was the beginning of a new month, and that only brought one thing for Deva, the worst week of her life.

She thanked God and whoever placed the pads and tampons in the bathroom. She prayed the day to hurry up and be done with.

She was rocking herself to sleep when her door swung open. Does anyone here know about knocking?

"Good morning sweetheart."

She groaned, irritated. "What's so good about it?"

"A little feisty today are we? Are you not feeling any better? Does your head hurt?"

"No it's not my head, but I warn you Darius don't start with me today." She felt a sting of pain shoot up her lower back and she cursed.

He sped to her side sitting on the edge of the bed. He didn't understand where the pain was coming from if it wasn't her head. His blood should have healed everything.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing for you to be concerned about. Now go run along to one of your flirty whores and leave me be." She was hoping her nasty attitude would get him to leave.

"Not going to happen, sweetheart."

She turned to him with eyes ablaze in rage. She was a little embarrassed to come right out and say her ovaries were shedding. "Darius leave me alone because I swear I will most likely end up biting your head off today."

He was used to her vulgar insults but threatening his life after she recently apologized for stabbing him didn't seem right. Something was definitely wrong.

"Why? What have I done?"

"Darius," she groaned placing her hand over her stomach and closing her eyes in anguish. "Believe it or not it has nothing to do with you."

He pieced a theory together. "You're on your cycle?"

"Yes Sherlock. Please leave. I'm not in the mood for company."

"I'm not leaving." He said firmly.

"Did you not hear me? I'm in pain, I have a crime scene in my pants, and I swear one wrong move and I could kill someone."

He chuckled and she wanted to pound him for laughing at her misery. "I'm not in any position to imply I know how you feel, but I have been close to the situation you just described." Being a vampire, it was normal to feel pain, on the verge of insanity, and not to mention killing people.

"Darius you don't have to stay with me. You can't honestly say you want to be around me when I'm like this. I'm PMSing. I am not the nicest person when I'm on my cycle. I feel nasty and sticky and shitty."

"I think I can handle it."

What was he trying to prove? "But Darius I'm kind of involuntarily bleeding. Can you even stand being around the smell?"

He placed a secure hand over her distressed face. He could feel her pain. "I'm a very old vampire. I can control my urges. I wouldn't put your life at risk like that. I want to stay with you."

Why did he have to be so sweet when she was so vulnerable? Could he really just want to be around her?

"Do whatever you want."

She fell back and groaned as her sides were cramping up again. Darius left for a spilt second and returned to pick her up off the bed.

"What are you doing Darius?"

"You said you felt nasty and sticky. The only way to make it go away is to take a bath."

He carried her into the bathroom where she noticed the water running in the tub. It was steaming hot. Hopefully it would relieve her cramps a bit.

He placed her on the counter and unbuttoned her shirt. He kept his eyes directly on hers. She was impressed he didn't flinch away to snag a peek at her body. It was a major turned her on.

When he was down to the last button she placed her hands over his. "I got it from here."

"Are you sure?" His wicked smile appeared.

"Thank you."

He turned away without looking back and shut the door behind him. She undressed the rest of the way and got in. The water smelt like lavender and she realized he must have scented the bath with oils. Since when was he so attentive? It was cute and oddly romantic.

The pain eventually subsided and she felt clean enough to get out. But she had forgotten to grab clothes. Darius was way ahead of her. On the counter he had placed a black maxi dress for her to wear.

He was waiting for her at the table back in her room. "Better?"

"Much."

"Good. I brought you some medicine for the pain and asked chef to make your favorites."

She was ecstatic to find the table equipped with spaghetti and garlic bread. "Thank you."

Maybe having him around wasn't going to be as bad as she originally thought. He wanted to pamper her and make her feel better. Deva never thought she'd live the day to have a vampire prince at her beck and call.

He let her eat in peace and handed her pills to drown the pain afterwards.

"What else will make you happy?"

She was loving the desire he had to please her. She was going to take full advantage of the moment.

"Ice cream, chocolate covered strawberries, and Moscato."

He catered to her list and notified the staff to bring up everything she wanted.

They ended up on the bed watching a movie and sharing a large bowl of ice cream. The pain might have evaporated but her bladder was full. Deva had finished an entire bottle of Moscato and was working on another glass. Unfortunately she had broken the seal and had to rush to the bathroom.

The movie credits were playing when she got back. She turned the radio on as another source of entertainment. The Weeknd was playing and her tipsy mind convinced her to dance along to the beat. Darius watched her sway her hips and lift the slits of her dress. Lust was a powerful factor drawing his eyes over every beautiful curve of her body.

(This is the size of Deva's figure)

"Dance with me."

He shook his head but she wouldn't accept rejection. She pulled him off the bed and forced him to move his feet.

Her angelic laughter filled the room as she managed to make him roll his hips. Deva got caught up in the music that she forgot she was holding a drink. She spilt it all over him.

"Your shirt needs to come off." Deva undid half of the buttons on his shirt before he could stop her.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm taking your shirt off so I can finally see your sexy body again." The wine was letting the honesty flow off her tongue.

"Deva you're drunk."

"No." She finished undoing his shirt. "I'm tipsy. Not drunk."

He should have stopped her but the motivation to do so was wiped clean the second her lips touched his bare skin. Deva was covering his chest in kisses. The exhilaration that consumed his body was like nothing he had experienced.

Her lips trailed down to his abdomen where she sunk her teeth into his flesh. He flinched out of surprise but basked in the unbelieve bliss. She had bitten him.

"Deva you should stop." He was saying it but he didn't really mean it.

"No." There were no rules anymore.

She wanted to do anything and everything her heart desired. Right then all she wanted to do was sink her teeth into him. Darius was hot and certainly a willing participant. He wanted her just as badly as she needed him to satisfy her craving.

She pushed him back, forcing him to hit the couch and take a seat. She hiked up her dress and crawled onto his lap.

"You have no idea how horny I get when I drink." She took charge and kissed him with a powerful fury to finally fulfill what they were both yearning for.

Her luscious lips drank from him like a fountain. His nagging conscience forced him to pop his own happy bubble.

"Sweetheart you're drunk."

"No I'm not." Deva rolled her hips, grinding her pelvis into his needy bulge.

Darius threw his head back in painful pleasure as she continued to tease his dick.

"Deva..." He gripped her thighs with the intention of stopping her repetitive motion.

"I've never fooled around with anybody before." She thrust her hips even deeper to watch in excitement as his eyes rolled to the back of his head.

"I want you, sexy Darius, to show me what I'm missing out on."

He was fighting what he obviously wanted so badly. Deva began negotiating with her lips, showering his neck with kisses.

"Tune your brothers out," She whispered seductively in his ear. "And make me squirm."

She bite his neck, her sharper teeth punctured and drew blood.

"Fuck." He moaned. Darius loved the crazy ones.

"Now is not the time to be a gentleman and protect my virtue." Her hand slid into his jeans. "You like me." She pressed on his large bulge. "You really, really like me."

The hunger took over and he began to pick up the pace, rotating her hips faster and faster. Her nails dug into his scalp and her hot breath tickled his neck.

"No," she clung tighter to him. "Don't stop."

Having her plead was an encouragement. He was determined to make her writhe and moan but first he wanted her to beg for it.

"Why are you fighting this? Isn't blood and pussy the ultimate prize for any male vampire?"

He could think of a million ways to tame her witty ass mouth. "I am going to make you cum. You'll feel nothing but bliss. Then just when you thought you had enough and you can't feel your legs I'll make you mine again and again until I am the only thing on your mind."

Her beautiful mocking grin stole his breath.

"Promise."

He squeezed her plump ass and lifted her off the couch to carry her to the bed. He discarded her dress and was washed with a terrible lust. Her black c-cup lace bra hardly covered her nipples. She caught him staring longer than expected.

"You're probably used to supermodels."

He caged her hands above her head so she couldn't shy away. He drowned her insecurities with the fierceness of a passionate kiss. "You're better than them."

A single look into his feverish eyes made her feel like his most prized possession.

Even though she was pinned down Deva managed to reach his lips. Their tongues collided in a deep battle for dominance. She tasted like the sweetest wine. His hand massaged one of her breasts while his tongue trailed down to the other. He pulled and he sucked and he teased. Her nipples grew hard the same time his dick started to throb.

Her legs wrapped around him like a python holding on to its prey. The shock waves igniting every fiber in her body was an addiction. He rocked, thrusting his erection against her aching sex but still in his jeans. He caressed her in a loving gentle way by kissing her, rubbing her, and breathing on her skin. She got hot, extremely hot and her heart was pounding outside of her chest.

It brought him immense joy to feel her squirm beneath him when he tried to remove her panties.

"Say my name."

"No." She wasn't ready to give into his demands.

His mouth latched onto her nipple again and he sucked harder. The riveting sensation made her sex hot and bothered. He held her knees apart to appreciate what she was offering.

He couldn't take the suspense any longer. He tore off her matching black panties. The delicious smell of her blood reached his nostrils and all self-control was lost. He gripped her round thighs to secure his head directly between her legs.

He licked the top area of blood and she shivered. His tongue stroked every layer of her secret lips as she rocked back and forth.

"Shit," she panted a curse.

He grinned indulging in the rapture of her sweet blood but he wanted to taste more. He wanted all of her. She responded beautifully to his touch. Her sensitive clit quivered as he massaged it with his unyielding tongue. She was like wine which was gently intoxicating him.

"Do it." She moaned close to an orgasm. "Bite me." She wanted to know what it felt like.

He hesitated but only for a second. His lips veered to her inner thighs. He kissed her soft skin sending more tingles to set fire to her nerves.

Without warning his teeth ripped into her skin and she exploded, her back arched. She writhed against his face, swirling in a pool of ecstasy. The warm harsh spasm coursed through her and into him. He finally had his release as well.

"Darius." She cried out in bliss.

That was what he was waiting for; his name on her lips. She was pulsing and trembling beneath his mouth as he licked up all her juices. He wanted the moment to last.

Giving her the best and only climax was an exhilarating feeling. He wanted to be the only man to ever pleasure her. He was determined to make a lasting impression and stick to his promise. He was going to make her legs numb so she could never forget the sensation only he gave her.

He hugged her thighs and began to massage his tongue inside her again. She wiggled a bit, not over the last wave of her orgasm. He refused to let her go.

"Fuck," her hands clawed into his hair and she whimpered. "Darius!"

The music was still playing, disguising her pivotal cries of ecstasy. Her desire bloomed and yearned for his touch. It was only a matter of seconds before she came for him again. The bent up tension and sweet release was something he knew he could never get enough of. She was perfect and it might have been a factor of her nonexperience.

She was heaving and flushed with exhaustion.

"I was..." She exhaled laughing, "missing out on a great thing."

He made her body come alive and there were no regrets in the world. Darius rushed to the bathroom to wash the blood from his face and any evidence that might make her uneasy.

Her eyelids were heavier than before. "Would you hate me if I fell asleep right now?"

Her head was spinning not only from the intoxication of the alcohol but also from their sexual endeavor.

"No sweetheart." He raised the bed sheets up to completely cover her body and pulled her into his arms.

His bare chest was astonishingly warm and inviting. He had made her so comfortable in her own skin. For once she was happy physically emotionally, just think about nothing. He had succeeded. The only thought running in her mind was his sweet invigorating body.

Deva woke up and found Darius asleep on the other side of the bed. He was shirtless and of course she marveled at his perfection. Even in his sleep his muscles looked sharp and defined.

Shit. Did she really let him go down on her? Yup. She was still in her bra and thankfully underwear too. The wonderful vampire prince must have put them on when she passed out. She couldn't believe it. Part of her was humiliated but having him cater to her so attentively was so freaking flattering.

She tip toed to the bathroom to wash away the morning gush of blood, put a tampon in, and brush her teeth. Her hair was a mess but managed to tame it down with a comb. She should have put on some clothes but instead went back into the room to gawk at the man candy still sleeping in her bed.

Man, he's so hot.

She wanted to explore more of him like he did with her. She wanted to know exactly what made him tick. Deva felt ambitious and naughty this particular morning.

She was standing at the foot of the bed when she lifted the sheets. She crawled under and over his legs. He was sleeping in his denim jeans. She straddled him, the pressure of her body barely made him stir. She contained the urge to laugh; he was no morning person.

Perhaps she could change that this morning. She outlined with her tongue the ripples of his abs. She licked then sucked because she wanted to leave a mark. The hickey would remind him of her later.

Her fingers traced the v-line stretching down into his jeans. Her girlish insides were melting from heat. Touching him so intimately torched a fire within herself. She loved it.

"You're not as innocent as I thought." His husky voice was a shocking turn on.

"Good morning." She grinned in a devilish manner.

"It most certainly is."

Her big brown eyes teased him just as much as her hands were. She began to unzip his pants.

"It's time for you to say my name now."

He sat up and kissed her to the point of euphoria. He already had morning wood thinking about the what he did to her the night before.

"You astound me." She was more than he ever imagined she would be.

Everything about her enticed him.

She pushed his back onto the bed and resumed to tantalize the shit out of him. Deva sat on his erection and rolled her hips; slowly, to build up more painful and yet pleasurable tension.

Loud rapid knocks on the door made her freeze.

"Aww fuck it." Darius was ready to kill whoever was going to walk through the door.

Deva scrambled to get off him but he wound his arms around her; holding her in place.

"I don't want anyone catching us like this." Deva would hate for Lucian to find out.

"Ashamed?"

"I don't want to hurt anyone." For some reason she figured Darius had thicker skin.

He wouldn't take it personal. In her mind he probably had flings all the time. She could have fun with him without getting emotionally involved. Lucian was different. He would add feelings into the equation and she wasn't ready to start a relationship.

"Like my brother?"

"Exactly."

He still wouldn't release her. "Who is it?"

"Amy, your highness." Her meek voice came from the other side of the door.

Deva relaxed in his arms and playfully bit his collarbone. "Stubborn ass."

"I like having you close." It felt right. "Come in Amy."

The blonde walked in with a smile that quickly turned into a frown at the sight of Deva on top of the prince. That decisive expression gave Deva a thought, or more like a suspicion.

"Your highness, your father is asking for your audience in his library."

"Tell him I'll be there shortly." He dismissed her with the wave of his hand.

She dropped her gaze and left immediately.

The question was brewing on the tip of her tongue. "Have you and Amy ever...done things?"

He licked his lips and stared at her like she was crazy for even implying he would go there. "No. She's been here a very long time but we have never done things. She's not my type."

Deva crossed her arms. "What is your type?"

"I'm looking right at her."

"Stop it," she smacked his shoulder. "You already got into my pants. You don't have to lie anymore."

"I'm being serious."

He wasn't breaking. Could he be telling the truth? Deva rolled right off the bed before he could notice her cheeks were turning red.

"You should go see what your father wants."

He hoped out of bed and didn't leave till he received a farewell kiss to last him the rest of the day.

The kiss was gentler than the ones before.

"I'll see you soon."

She nodded then was left to her own solace. Deva couldn't stop smiling. It was stupid and unexplainable but she was really happy. Darius was a fantastic, sometimes impossible person.

Why did it have to be him? Why was it so easy to fall into his temptation? Was it the alcohol numbing her senses? No. She couldn't blame the alcohol. She was very aware of what she was doing, or rather what he was doing to her.

He was the no strings attached brother. She was going to simply use what he was willing to offer. Was that so wrong when it felt so right?

The door banged loudly as someone entered her room without an invitation.

"I hate you." Julia was furious.

"What the hell did I do now?"

"Thanks to you and your stupid period that starts at the beginning of the month, I'm cramping too."

Julia threw herself onto the bed and covered her head with the sheets. If only she knew what kind of action those sheets just witnessed.

"Sorry Juls. It's not like I can help it. I didn't even know periods were contagious."

"You can speed up the process if you're around someone who has it. Thanks to you, mine's a week early."

Deva joined her in bed. "At least you get it over with."

"I was supposed to go out with Marcus today, but I feel like crap; so I doubt that will happen."

"Don't be a baby. Pop some pills and get back out there." Deva wanted her best friend to have as much fun as she was currently having.

Julia studied Deva face typically Deva was the picture of death when she was on her period. What was with the mood shift?

"Since when do you sleep naked?"

Deva shrugged. "I got really hot last night...like really hot." Scorching hot thinks to Darius' body.

They rested in bed while Julia waited for the medicine to kick in.

"Please tell me you aren't wearing any clothes under there?" Marcus lit up like a Christmas tree just imagining the thought.

"Actually I'm not."

"Do you need a cuddle buddy?"

"Nope."

He stood in front of the bed post wondering why they looked so down. "Why are you two so glum?"

"It's just our lucky time of month," Julia groaned.

Marcus had the perfect solution to their problem and it would make him their hero. "What if I said I can make the pain go away with a single touch?"

"Please elaborate." Julia wasn't sure if he meant it in a sexual way like a trick question.

"Royal vampires have special gifts. I can erase feelings, emotions, and even pain."

"Okay we can cuddle now." Both Deva and Julia had their arms stretched out towards him.

Marcus happily crawled in the middle of them and they curled into his sides. Not even seconds later their cramps faded completely.

"Who needs drugs when you got bad ass vampire prince handy?" Julia nuzzled her nose closer to his warm chest.

"Marcus how come you guys are so warm sometimes?" The question had been floating inside her head for some time.

"Why are you so warm?" He fired back with a laugh.

"Shut up, you know what I mean. I just figured vampires are supposed to be cold."

"Well the reason we're warm is because we just fed. The warm blood that we took from our 'donor' is still in our systems. Vampires get colder when the blood is running out of us, and we become hungry."

"Did you just eat then?"

"Yes love."

"Did you kill them?"

"No," he said calmly. "We don't have to kill. We can be satisfied with a small amount of blood. We don't like to kill humans. They are crucial to our survival."

Deva felt a wonderful relief wash over her. She didn't like the idea of them going around killing people, even if it was the only way for them to survive.

"You really are naked aren't you?" Marcus could only feel the strap of her bra.

"I should probably change."

He hugged her to his chest. "Mmm not yet. I love your warmth and you smell good."

Well it was a good things she wiped off every evidence of Darius off of her skin.

"Did someone forget to invite me to the private party?" A deep husky voice intruded.

Deva's heart leaped a little. Would he ever find out? Could Darius accidently let it slip?

"Sorry brother. It's a strict three member party."

"Is it? And how exactly did you get an invitation and I didn't?" Lucian was terrible at keeping his tolerance for annoyance in check.

"We're using him," Julia tried to clear the air of brother testosterone. "He got rid of our cramps."

"Cramps?" Lucian repeated then took a strong whiff of the air. He smelt blood, understanding exactly why they were using him. "Oh I see."

Lucian walked around to the side of the bed where Deva was laying. "Are you feeling better?"

She nodded with her eyes shut. She didn't need to see him to know he was speaking to her. His attraction and affection was obvious.

"You didn't come out of your room yesterday."

"No but Darius kept me company. I didn't feel like going out." Could she beat around the bush forever? Eventually she was afraid the truth would come out and hurt him. She'd have to take it to the grave.

"What about today? Do you feel good enough to go out?"

He was trying too hard. Maybe she should lay low so he wouldn't invest so much time with her.

"But this bed is so comfy." She'd try any excuse.

"She also forgot to mention she's only wearing undergarments." Marcus added fuel to his brother's flame.

Deva popped her eyes open to smack the traitor in the stomach. Marcus laughed because it felt like a tickle. He loved tormenting his brothers.

Lucian was unquestionably jealous. Deva couldn't watch the bitter depression swallow him whole.

She opened her arms to him. "Want to join?"

Lucian climbed into the king size bed and Deva snuggled into his chest. She took a deep breath and was intoxicated with his smell. His smell was different from his brothers. It was distinct with an aromatic wood and suede fragrance and a hint of lavender and jasmine. It was a sensual smell that was rugged, but soft and commanding, yet yielding.

Deva was slowly drifting to sleep with each breath she took of his scent. Lucian tightened his arms around her when she buried her nose in the nape of his neck. The physical contact was nice but nothing compared to the tingles she got with Darius.

"What the hell is going on here?" It wouldn't be a soap opera if Darius didn't walk in on her wrapped around another man.

"How did your meeting with father go?" Lucian ignored his tantrum and flipped the topic.

"Fine." His jaw clinched briefly. "Why are you all in bed?"

"We're about to start an orgy. Wanna play?" Marcus was the comic relief but Darius wasn't in the mood apparently.

Deva was avoiding eye contact. She didn't owe him an explanation.

"Right. I just came by to see how you're feeling."

That suckered her in and she assured him with a glowing smile. "I slept like a baby. My morning was pretty great too so definitely feeling better. Thank you." She hoped he grasped her meaning.

She was thanking him for the entire night.

"Anytime. I'm at your service." He winked and she blushed like an idiot.

He was all dressed up in a nice blue button-up and black jeans.

"Are you going somewhere?"

"Yes we're going out to eat," a bothersome voice came from the redhead she hated the most. Red came waltzing into the room like she owned the place and reached for Darius' hand when she was close enough.

Deva was struck with a strange jealousy. Why did it bother her he was going out? Maybe it was because it was Red. Why couldn't it have been any other girl?

"Oh how lovely. Try not to choke on any muffins?" Deva glared at Darius intentionally.

"Like I eat carbs."

"I bet you were one of those girls that prayed to God to make your friends fat so you could look skinny."

Deva and Red entered an intense staring contest.

"I wonder how the princes did it," Red smirked. "I heard fat people were hard to kidnap."

"Well they obviously got you here." Deva's comebacks were automatic.

It did sting a bit though because Deva was thicker than the rest of the girls.

Red was about to pounce on the bed and get a go at Deva but Darius quickly yanked her back roughly. Red winced and resorted to murdering Deva with her eyes.

"Perhaps I shouldn't go." Darius could tell Deva was struggling and didn't like seeing her doubting her worth and beauty.

"No." Deva pushed down the covers not caring if she exposed most of her body. She was comfortable in her skin and wasn't going to let Red body shame her. Darius had seen everything anyway. "Don't let me spoil your fun."

She tossed her leg over Lucian since it was the only way to get out of bed. It looked like she was straddling him for a moment but she only lingered because she was giving Darius a decent view of her ass. It was all part of the tease.

She jumped off him and landed on her feet in time to see Red's pursing lips and exaggerated arched brow. Darius was holding fists at his side, turning his knuckles white. Deva was giving Darius a brief show of what he was going to miss out on.

"Let's get out of here babe." Red had to nudge Darius out of his weird trance.

His eyes were glued onto Deva's body as she headed for the closet to change.

"How are you ladies feeling now?" Marcus asked eagerly once the extra bodies left the room.

"Much better."

"Good enough to go out?"

Julia shrugged. "Possibly. What do you have in mind?"

"How about Marcus and I take you ladies out on the town or perhaps towns?" Lucian read his brother's mind.

"As long as I have my miracle pill next to me I'll in," Julia was referring to Marcus.

Marcus was euphoric to feel wanted and desired. "I won't leave your side. Love, how about you?"

"What will we be doing?" Deva yelled from the closet.

"Anything and everything. Perhaps dancing, drinking, vandalizing, and any other crazy thing your mind can come up with?" Lucian was wearing an insidious expression.

"Alright but we need an hour to get dressed."

"As you wish baby." Lucian got up, as did Marcus but not before kissing Julia on the forehead.

Deva came out with the wickedest grin playing on her face.

Julia knew that look. It meant she had a really good crazy idea. "What Dev? What crazy idea do you have now?"

Deva plunged into her idea explaining how hilarious it would be to dress the same and try to make each other look like twins. Julia couldn't say no, it was a brilliantly funny idea. Julia picked out two lace shirt tops, ironically one a dark green and the other a burgundy red. They paired it with black skinny jeans and black high heels. They both decided it was easier to just wave out their long dark hair, it wasn't the exact dark brown but really close.

They styled it in the same fashion then applied make-up. Julia had natural light olive skin, and Deva wasn't exactly snow white, but not as dark as Julia. They applied a lighter foundation on Julia's skin, and Deva had to wear a darker shade. In the end their skin was almost the same color. The girls admired their handy work and continued on to the eye shadow.

They kept it simple using the same black eye shadow and eyeliner to really pop out their eyes. Mascara and lip gloss were the last finishing touches. Looking into the mirror the girls were baffled with their appearance. It was crazy what a little make up and matching clothes could do to them.

"Ladies are you ready yet?" They heard an impatient Marcus yell from the bedroom. They smiled mischievously to each other and walked hand in hand out the door to the awaiting brothers.

Lucian was leaning on the bed post completely at ease while Marcus was pacing by the window. They directed their attention to the coming footsteps and were astonished to find them pretty much identical.

"Hello boys." The girls said in sync.

The brothers grinned like idiots. They truly were not expecting twins.

"It really is uncanny how much you look alike my loves." Marcus examined them with much more than just approval. "Are you two related in anyway?"

"Nope," they both replied again giggling.

Deva had a more square face then Julia who had a circle shaped face, but with their hair down the difference wasn't that noticeable.

Lucian came up beside Deva placing a kiss on her cheek. "I bet this was your idea."

"I thought we might spice things up a bit."

"Clever thinking." He turned to Julia then. "Julia dear, I know Marcus told you we have abilities, but he didn't tell you what I can do. I can teleport."

Who was she to question him? After all vampires weren't supposed to be real. "Okay. Sure why not."

"That's the spirit. Loosh, where are we going?"

Lucian took Deva's hand. "I was thinking Germany. They have the best night life."

"If I get into any fights, I'm telling you now; it's not my fault."

Both Lucian and Marcus laughed. "We seriously doubt that."

Lucian squeezed her hand and made sure everyone was holding on to each other in some way. They needed to be connected in order to teleport them all.

"Julia you might want to close your eyes for this."

She did as he said, and in a matter of seconds she started to hear the extremely loud techno music playing in the background. She opened her eyes and saw neon night lights flashing in every direction. Light fog was slowly descending from the ceiling and the large body of people in front of her was moving frantically to the music.

"Wow," was the only word her mind could function.

Deva noticed they were in a small VIP corner a little ways away from the bustling crowd. The brothers led them to the secluded table, and they sat. A handsome guy with a green Mohawk and black eyeliner came to serve them drinks.

With a thick accent he asked, "What can I get for you?"

"Two Altbierbowle for the ladies and Asbach for me and my brother," Marcus replied.

The guy nodded. "Coming right up."

"Do you guys come here often?"

"Yes, we come here to drink."

By drink she figured he meant feed.

The guy came back minutes later placing their drinks on the table. Lucian passed Deva a glass cup that had brown reddish liquid inside with some kind of fruit. She was not a picky drinker. When she finished she noticed Lucian babysitting his drink and took it off his hands. She was betting he ordered it for her since he only laughed. He wasn't mad.

"Are you a secret alcoholic?" He whispered in her ear since the music was so loud.

"No. I don't hide it."

Lucian shook his head. "I like a girl who doesn't deny it."

"I bet you like a lot of girls."

"Nope, just one."

Deva kept her head forward, looking into the crowd. She pointed to a girl in a tight leather red dress. "Is that her?"

"No. She's a lot closer than you think."

She took another gulp of the strong drink. "That one then," Deva asked pointing to a girl standing in a dancer's cage.

"Getting hotter, but not quite."

"Mmmm that one." Her finger followed the bleach blonde winking at the princes from across the table.

"She's not my type. But you're almost there." His lips lingered on her ear.

She'd be stupid not to know it was her. Lucian was wearing his heart out on his sleeve but was it genuine? How could she trust him?

Playing hard to get was her safest bet. No feelings or attachments were a sure way not to get hurt.

She raised her finger pointing to herself, "Me?"

He ran his lips down her throat to the base of her neck. She felt cool chills run down her spine as his lips began to kiss her soft skin.

"You know I like someone too," she kept her voice even.

"Oh yeah," he didn't sway his lip from her skin as he asked her.

"Yeah, and I think I'm going to ask them for a dance."

He raised his head just like she was hoping he would. They stared deep into each other's eyes until she turned and grabbed Julia's hand.

"Let's dance." She dragged Julia along.

Deva needed space from Lucian because the anxiety and rush of emotions was making her go crazy. She was playing with temptation. Every second spent with Lucian was drawing her closer and closer into that point of no return.

The hectic dance floor was her getaway. They could still see the VIP area where the brothers were closely monitoring them. It was a security precaution just as much as a necessity for the princes. Julia and Deva effortlessly adapted to the erratic tempo of the music; releasing any unwanted thoughts. This was their form of unwinding and forgetting.

Soon the humidity and atmosphere of the crowd surrounded them and sweat drops were rolling down their bodies.

Deva felt an unwelcomed hand snake around her waist. Her eyes shot up and saw a sexy man smiling seductively down at her. He wasn't as good looking as the brothers but he did strike a powerful first impression.

"Bonjour belle," the foreigner spoke French.

Deva was a tad rusty with the language. High school French class was technically years ago.

"Bonjour." Deva remained polite.

The guy leaned down to whisper into her ear. "Je m'appelle Paul."

"I'm Deva!" She yelled.

"This is my cousin Jacque." He said in thick French accent pointing to a cute guy dancing with Julia. "You two must be sisters."

"She's actually my girlfriend."

"You are very beautiful." His bright green eyes danced across her body like he didn't care she was taken.

The undesired attention made her cringe. He wasn't admiring her beauty because he was too busy undressing her with his eyes.

It was the basic girl code to fake lesbian lovers with your best friend when creepy guys were hitting on you. Julia squeezed her hand and led the way through the crowd in hopes of ditching the French guys.

Somehow Jacque made it in front of them, forcing them to stop. His heartbreaking smile may have worked on countless other women but Deva and Julia seemed immune after countless weeks with the flawless vampire princes.

"Can we buy you drinks?"

"Sorry Napoleon but you're not our type." Julia maneuvered around him and continued walking. That didn't seem to sit well with their new French invaders.

Deva was involuntarily stopped by Paul's firm grip. She groaned in frustration.

"Let me go before I turn that pretty little smirk of yours into a busted lip."

Lust clouded his eyes and she sensed her statement only turned him on. Men were easy to read and thought logically. They didn't think in emotional terms like women tend to. Men were visual creatures. They fall in love with their eyes; hardly with their hearts.

"You should really let us buy you drinks. We can show you a good time."

Nothing they said registered to these guys. The possibility of Julia and Deva being lovers only upped their game. The French men found it a challenge.

"Why don't you and Jacque go outside and play, hide and go screw yourselves?"

Paul took a dangerous step towards her, purposely rubbing his wide chest against her.

"Why don't you play with me?"

Right when she was about to sock Paul in the face she saw Lucian come to her rescue. He squeezed Paul's wrist which released his grip on Deva. Lucian spared no mercy. His grip tightened in a death pressure that made Paul sink to his knees and groan in pain.

"I believe my girl was telling you to leave her alone," Lucian's voice was dark and malicious.

Paul clenched his teeth and cried. "I was just offering her a drink."

"And she refused." Lucian had a calm serial killer rage that made even Deva question his control.

"Yeah so sue me."

"How about I do better?"

During this time no one on the dancefloor was paying them any attention. Lucian could quite possibly bash his scull in and no one would know it was him. Jacque had, long ago, run like a coward.

"Something that won't take as much time," with that Lucian snapped his hand back and cracked Paul's wrist bone. Lucian leaned down and whispered into his victim's ear, "Leave this place before I finish you off."

Paul screamed, stumbling to his feet and quickly throwing himself into the crowd. Lucian remained a statue which only added to Deva's fear. She could only imagine what he was thinking. Lucian no doubt wanted to run after Paul and finish what he started.

Deva enfolded her arms securely around Lucian's neck. His deep stare was solely fixated in the direction Paul had fled. His once kindred eyes were morphing into estranged blackness.

"I'm not as defenseless as you think. His face was about to meet my fist before you interfered."

Lucian's hand fisted into her hair and he pressed his nose against her to inhale her essence. It was his form of rehabilitation.

"But then I wouldn't have had the chance to be your hero."

The sentimental thought behind his motive warmed her more than she'd admit.

"Dance with me Loosh."

Her body was already swaying to the tempo. Lucian mimicked her motions as their bodies molded in sync. They lost their selves in the sea of faces to the music and everything it represented. The music was another world, an escape from the insanity.

Deva was thrown back into pandemonium when Lucian's ice cold touch descended down her back. He hadn't realized what he had done. Deva was startled by the discovery but kept her fortitude.

"You're thirsty?" It may have come out as a question but in her mind it was a statement.

His eyes had remained black despite her hope for the return of his familiar blue-grey orbs.

"I want to show you what I am and what I do to survive. And I don't want you to be frightened." Lucian whispered into her ear.

She understood what he was, but to actually see him feed off another being was a completely different story. She knew any decent human being would be repulsed and scared but she wasn't. Her corrupt mind was curios and desired to witness the truth.

"Can I pick the person out?"

Lucian was shocked and amused to witness her desire to be involved.

"You want to pick the person out?"

"Yup." She tightened her arms around his torso, her head against his chest, scanning the people. He rested his chin on her head and waited patiently while she chose his next victim.

"I don't do males."

She didn't expect him to. Deva spotted a pretty girl standing next to the bar holding a glass to her lips. "That one," Deva pointed to the blonde.

"Out of curiosity, why her?"

"She looks guilty. Like she committed a crime and is trying to forget it by drinking."

"You really do have a knack for reading people." He kept Deva as close to him as possible.

The girl seemed annoyed that they wanted to bother her but Lucian whispered something into her ear and she began to relax. The mood change was instant almost impetuous. She got up the next second and started walking towards the back of the club. Lucian escorted Deva through the bustle till they reached the stairs. It led up into a small private room with a window type wall overlooking the calamity of the nightlife.

They found the girl directly in the middle of the room with a blank expression on her face and no one else in sight.

"What did you do to her?"

"Another perk of being a vampire is the power of persuasion. In order to do it though you must tap into the mind. It takes practice and some don't master it until years later. The persuasion is more effective when the mind is barely used so it works great on drunk, intoxicated people."

"Neat."

The girl didn't move or flinch as he closed the distance between them. Deva watched as he sunk his teeth into her neck not bothering to be gentle. The girl whimpered silently, and a few seconds later, Lucian pulled away, but not before licking the wound on the girl's neck. He didn't have any blood on his face.

"I want you to lie down on the couch and rest now."

The girl was compelled to do as he commanded. Lucian sought a glimpse of Deva's expression. Was she disgusted like she should be? Something told him she wasn't. Deva reached for his hand to place it against her cheek. She wanted to feel the difference. He was warm now.

"You're not scared of me?"

Her eyes wandered his face. He didn't kill the girl. He only took a little blood. He wasn't the monster she tried to paint his as in the beginning.

He was far more compassionate than she was. It was written in his eyes. He was an emotion and sensitive creature.

"No, but you should probably be scared of me." Deva's heart was closed off and the more he tried to tear down her walls the worse his disappointment would be.

"Oh I am. Most of the time I'm scared of the way you make me feel."

She was tongue tied. He was someone special in her life. But was he always going to be there? When they crown someone else as their queen would she still be this important to them? Deva knew she was going to go home. Why should she invest her feelings?

They drank and danced some more till their feet couldn't bear it anymore.

Deva was tipsier than usual which gave Lucian the incentive to stay with her. She wouldn't let him. However he did escort her to her room where she refused to invite him in even for a second.

"Thank you but I can find my bed without your help." His worry was stupid.

"Goodnight then." Lucian lingered and for some odd reason it annoyed her.

"Goodnight." She shut the door behind her and exhaled.

Her head was spinning. Maybe she did overdo it. She attempted to make it to her bed without the light on. Of course she bumped into a chair and then something harder.

She ran her hands across the object and mumbled, "I don't remember anything being there."

"That's because I wasn't," a deep voice came from the standing object. Deva jumped back placing her hand over her beating heart.

"Are you trying to kill me?" She continued stumbling towards the bed passing the tall figure.

Her heels were seriously killing her with each step. She had to get them off. Just when she thought she had reached the bed she tripped over the rug, but was caught by buff arms before hitting the floor. She was swept up and carried to the bed.

"I need to get these death traps off my feet."

She heard his soft chuckle. "Then let me assist you." She felt tingles run through her body as his fingers rubbed down her legs to her strapped feet. He gently took off her heels and she sighed. "How much have you had to drink?"

"Why should I tell you? Are you the drinking patrol?"

"Not exactly."

She threw herself backwards and flopped on the bed. "I lost count after the fifth one."

"Of course, you're an alcoholic."

She flew back up to deny it, but was hit with a dizzy sensation. "Am not." She cradled her head to stop the spinning. "I didn't always drink this much."

Two large hands cupped her face, forcing her head still. "Then what happened? Why drink so much now? Are you trying to forget something?"

She placed her hands over his and pushed them away so she could get off the bed. "Oh, no you don't. Just because I'm tipsy doesn't mean I'll spill my secrets." She stumbled miserably towards the other side of the room. "I'm not that out of it."

"You need to sleep."

"Ok dad. I'll be sure to do that just because you told me to." She hit something hard and stubbed her toe. "Ow!"

In an instant, Darius was in front of her. "You're going to bed before you kill yourself trying to walk across this room." He wrapped his arms around her waist.

"But I need to wipe this crap off my face," she whined.

"Okay, then I'm helping you."

She only obliged because she couldn't see where she was going and her toe was throbbing. She wrapped her arms around his neck, and he grabbed her thighs forcing her to wrap her legs around his torso like an infant. He easily carried her to the bathroom without bumping into any furniture. He turned the light switch on in the bathroom and she flinched, ducking her head in the nape of his neck.

"It burns, it burns," she cried dramatically.

His soft vibrating laughter echoed. "You'll live sweetheart."

"Easy for you to say. You're the immortal one with freak powers and fast healing." She raised her head and gave him a puppy pout. "I'm the fragile human that can break easily. You have to be careful with me."

"You don't seem that fragile to me." He placed her on the sink counter and she winced from the coldness.

"I guess my disguise is wearing off."

He took a wash cloth, damped it in water, and started wiping the gunk off her face. He was gently concentrating.

"Who are you really, underneath this disguise?"

His question sobered her up. "Does it matter? Don't you like my disguise?"

Darius leaned in. He supposed she was right. He loved the mystery she compelled him in. Everything about her enticed him.

"I want more. I want more of you." The disguise wasn't enough. It was only holding her back.

She didn't want to give him more; not the more he wanted. Instead she'd distract him with more of her body. Feelings were too complicated. Attachments were too personal and something she wasn't willing to develop.

"You just needed to ask." She crushed her lips on top of his. She was raining down on him havoc and bliss. It was a confusing and sometimes dangerous combination.

He responded momentarily matching her fierceness with his own ravenous aggression. She whimpered, surrendering to chills of pleasurable elation running down her spine. He could taste the wine on her tongue and untangled himself from her.

"You're drunk."

"No," she corrected. "I'm not."

"How about I tuck you in?"

She folded her arms and legs around him. "And rock me to sleep?"

He squeezed her ass and hoisted her up. "Not when you're like this."

She massaged her nails through his scalp which triggered a bulge in his pants. How could she be doing that to his body without really trying?

"What do you mean? You were fine with it last night." She continued to taunt him by sucking on his neck. She was bound to leave a mark.

"You weren't this bad last night."

Insulted by his comment Deva bite him, penetrating the skin. Darius winced and she fought out of his grip.

"Fuck you." Deva stormed off.

Darius bit his tongue and went after her. He coiled her in his arms because he knew she'd fight against him.

"Calm down Deva."

"Get out of my room asshole."

He couldn't understand where this was coming from. He wasn't exactly rejecting her.

"Not until you tell me what's wrong." He cooed and rejoiced when she relaxed.

"Nothing, just leave me alone." She was much too stubborn.

He slid his hand in the opening of her shirt to fondle her breast. She filled up his entire hand. To his amazement she didn't wage war.

"Is this what you want? Do you want me to rip your clothes off and make you cum again?"

He relished massaging her plump breast; twitching, pocking, rubbing her nipple. Deva leaned back into the crevasse of his chest. Her breaths came sharper and abundant. Darius slithered his other hand into the front of her pants. Her sex was hot and craving his attention.

Her hand flew up and curled around his neck. She licked her lips then gripped the back of his head to force it down to her level. She kissed him with a misfire of emotion.

"I'm sorry. You don't have to do it. You don't have to do anything for me."

Her apology took him aback. "You don't think I want to make you cum?"

She pulled his hand out of her pants so she could turn around and face him. "I don't know. You said no. If it grossed you out-"

He had to stop her wandering mind because she was completely wrong. "It was incredible. Deva you are the only woman I have done that to. The period part is new for me. I was the furthest thing from grossed out."

"Oh," she shyly dropped her head. "I'm sorry I blew up. I'm PMSing and I was drinking."

"You don't need to explain. I just thought sleep should be more important for you right now."

Her head was starting to hurt again. "I think you're right."

As soon as she hit the pillow her eyes shut down. Her whole body was giving out. "Why did you come back to see me?" When he didn't answer she made her own excuse. "You missed me, didn't you?"

His answer never made it to her ears.
