After 12 Years:

The sun was slowly disappearing behind tall mountains as evening's breeze was cooling down the afternoon air.

Eunseok ran on the hillside to look for a particular person. He was looking for him for almost an hour now. He was sure that he must be in the fields at this time for watering but he has crossed almost 10 fields now.

"Jungkook Hyung!!!!", he yelled on top of his lungs, trying to spot the familiar tuft of hair among the green fields.

Soon he came to find the exact person he was looking for. Jungkook was resting under a giant tree. He had spread a cloth under the shadow as a makeshift bed and right now he was busy taking his favourite afternoon nap before he starts tending the field again.

Eunseok's loud noise did break his sleep as a sat up in confusion, looking at the hyper young man running towards him. Oh God, he was not that young to match his excitement.

"Why are you so worked at this unusual time of the day...", he said looking around. He almost thought that he was there for so long. But when he realised that it was still afternoon, he frowned in confusion.

Eunseok crossed half of the field only in a few strides, his face was sporting wide grin. He panted as he stood in front of Jungkook. He didn't let him say anything further and just pulled out something.

"You have got a mail.", he said with a smile. Jungkook relaxed at the news. He calmly started folding the cloth he was sleeping on.

"So that's what you were fussing about. You know where to keep it, Eunseok-ah...", he said. But Eunseok didn't budge. He stood there until Jungkook was done and looked at him.

"It's not that letter Hyung....", he said raising his hand. Now, Jungkook's eyes turned to the paper he was holding onto. And surely it wasn't the 'usual' one. This was a parchment paper. A parchment with a velvet lining. Of course, a mail from royals.

"What is it?", he asked concerned while taking the mail from Eunseok who refused to say anything. Jungkook started reading and as his eyes roamed over the words, his eyes only got bigger.

Slowly his eyes turned glassy as he looked at the younger male. "My... S-Soobinie is getting crowned as the King!!", he exclaimed. Eunseok nodded happily as he got hugged the older male. They now had happy tears.

"Song saem already told everyone to start preparing. Pups are fighting over the new dresses and everyone else has started preparing for the departure!!!", he happily mentioned. "You must be very happy Hyung... Soobin is finally taking over the throne. You must feel very light that the last guilt has been lifted off your shoulders..."

Jungkook mutely nodded with a small smile.

"You... You are not coming?", he asked confused at Jungkook's dull reaction at his rambling. To that all Jungkook did was shake his head in negative. Eunseok's face drained off of the happiness he felt earlier.

"Why?? Your health is also doing a lot better than before. It's you who should be there first.. IT'S YOUR ONLY SON'S CORONATION!!", He exclaimed with a loud voice. But the older alpha didn't have any answer to his question or statement. He just remembered a vivid memory which never failed to make space in his head every now and then.

Flashback to that Day:

"Wake up, my dear."

His foggy brain finally succeeded in clearing his mind and consciousness slowly started flooding his nerves.

He slowly opened his eyes and his newly found clear vision caught a figure standing over him. It was Soobin.

But it didn't look like Soobin, his child, at the same time as well.

This Soobin had a serene look on his face  with a mild smile. He stood with grace yet his stance was firm. Jungkook never would have thought that his Soobin could look like this. So... Different. But he knew the reason behind it.

"You have proved yourself worthy of a second chance and have completed the punishment, my child. The poison in your veins is gone. You only thought of your Omega in your near death experience and that indicates the loyalty of your alpha towards your Omega... You will live. But what happens further will completely be based on your action and my role ends here...."

Jungkook's eyes widened with terror. "W-what? What d-do you mean your role ends?? You are o-our child!! Jimin loves you!!! Everyone does... How are they going to take it about your disappearance. Don't leave us my boy!!!", he screamed out of pure panic. But Soobin just smiled.

"How can I ever deny a parent's affection. Even the Almighty himself can't. Soobin will stay. You don't have to worry... Now go. Make your life."

After that Jungkook had opened his eyes in the wild, somewhere near from his hut. He was all okay, body aching gone. When the villagers found they were astonished to see him all okay without even a scratch. Him being saved from that monstrous fire wasn't any less of a miracle. They still think about it as a great miracle.

"Hyung!!", Eunseok's voice broke his train of thoughts.

"Eun... Why don't you go and start with preparations. I will be in my cabin.", he dismissed looking at Eunseok's face filled with dismay. But chose to ignore. He can't go, even if he's fine and allowed.

When Jungkook reached his hut which was still in the same place but now in better condition. He saw a piece of paper tucked under the closed door. Immediately, his face filled with happiness. He carefully pulled the piece out to reveal a neatly folded letter.

He entered the cabin and closed the door. Enthusiastically, he opened it started reading.

'Dear Jungkook...

You know it's been so long we have seen each other? But I think I'm giving you a reason to come back. Back to me.

Our son is finally getting crowned as the King of Busan. And I wish to see his father bless him with his presence while our son takes the vows. I made the announcement today and the Kingdom is already happy with it. He is going to be a great king to his people. 

And I want you to witness it, beside me.

Come back home, jagiya.

Jimin.'

Jungkook's eyes filled with tears. He hasn't seen his Omega not his son for the last 13 years. After the fire accident he was declared all healthy by Song saem, but he refused to written back. Even if he was free of his sins, he would always think that he hadn't repented enough. So he chose to stay away from all the royal privileges until his heart has satisfied his guilt and sorrow towards his family. His Jimin and Soobin. He decided to spend his life here as a monk.

And one such day a letter arrived at Jungkook's small hut. It was from Jimin, asking why isn't he back yet.

He chose to not answer. The farther he stays away from them, the happier they will be. And then these letters became frequent and then normal. He would receive a letter from Jimin every other day and he would eagerly wait. But he never would answer.

Cause he started believing that the moment chooses to reply back, all of this will fade away. Jimin will slip away and that would not be something he would be able to handle. Because he could admit it at least that he has fallen irrevocably in love with Jimin. And this time, with no point of return. So it was good the way it was.

Like always a tear rolled down Jungkook's eyes after reading the letter, as the realisation downed on him that he wasn't going see Jimin for many more years to come for the upteenth time. He neatly folded the paper and opened a trunk which was neatly kept in a corner. He put the letter among many other letters he has been receiving from Jimin for last 12 years.

He looked at those letters as if looking at Jimin himself. With utmost care and pure love. It was the only thing holding him up.

Suddenly, a knock came in the door. He opened only to leave himself in utter shock.

Shocked to see Jimin standing there.

He held an unreadable expression. He wore royal clothes and looked so good than before. Straight out of Jungkook's imaginations. So beautiful. He has aged well. Royalty suited him and he was made for it.

But Jimin wasn't happy to look at Jungkook who looked like he was living on bare minimum. Looking so tired and exhausted. He was still handsome, Jimin could never deny. But these aren't conditions he should be living in.

"Did you just throw my letter away..?", he asked as he welcomed himself in without waiting for Jungkook to welcome him in. Jungkook who was tongue-tied by his mere presence couldn't form any words.

"N-no..."

"I'm here to take you back.", he said firmly like a King. The thought made Jungkook smile a little. But he couldn't go back.

"Jimin I can't..."

"Well I'm tired of waiting for you to come back. So I'm here to take you back. You have ran away from me for last 12 years. And if you think you get more time to go that, you're mistaken."

"Jimin I—"

"If you want to redeem your past mistakes, you should do it in front of me. You should ask me to be forgiven. You should beg me for leaving me. You should be redeeming for everything you did to me....", Jimin screamed forgetting his demeanor. It made Jungkook flinch. He could clearly feel how his Omega was distressed. He could feel his alpha going savage for making his Omega cry.

"Jimin..."

Jimin didn't let him complete his sentence and just threw himself in Jungkook's arms to put his lips on him. He engulfed the taller in his arms around his neck and kissed him with fervor.

Jungkook lost.

He never could win against his Omega.

"Let's go back, Alpha..."

Jungkook pushed Jimin away from him lightly by his shoulders which were still shaking because he was crying. Jungkook started going out of the hut hurting Jimin as more tears rolled down his already pink cheeks.

"Alpha..."

"Let me inform everyone that I'm going back. They have helped me alot. Now my Omega is here, how can I stay?", Jungkook said with a smile. Jimin understood and started laughing through his tears.

"Let me pack some apples for you my dear, and some shawls, it's getting colder. You might catch a cold...", Jungkook said more to himself like making notes as he exited the hut. But suddenly he stopped and looked back at his Omega. Now shining in smiles.

"What?", Jimin asked confused.

"I'll be back. See you again...."
