Jungkook was shocked to see the fierce look on the Omega pup which resembled Jimin a lot. He sure could see his own features on him too, but his mind was haywire considering the situation to barely even notice the details. Seeing at pup for few seconds his eyes suddenly shone red for a second. Jimin didn't fail to notice the change.

He was as confused and amazed to see the pup who had so courage to not even scramble in front of such an big Alpha like Jungkook. He didn't even falter, despite his submissive nature of the rank. But then his Omega called out and suddenly he gutted in Alphas stomach to stop him from harming the pup despite the Alpha showing no such signs.

Jungkook groaned by the impact he felt on his side. He looked the way Jimin stood up in an instant shielded the pup like a physical protective armour.

"JIMIN AH!!!"

All the eyes turned towards the new voice that entered the room, only to see Taemin, the Alpha Jungkook despised standing at the door widely looking at the Pup Jimin was protecting. He was shocked to say the least.

"Beanie!!", Jimin's eyes now resembled saucers as he looked at the pup and slowly his gaze was covered by darkness...

The smoke was filling up the whole place as the fire was spreading rapidly towards the whole area. It was becoming harder for Taemin to detect faces from such smoke. But he with his pack members were trying hard to save anyone that comes their way not caring about revealing their identity at this point.

He broke a door and entered the cramped place finding it empty. Still he blinked his eyes few times getting them teary because of the smoke, he looked through the narrow slits. Not finding anyone, he retreated.

But before he could escape the room, he felt a weak tug at his Baji and surprise got him. He looked at the source to meet with a small hand hiding their owner in the dark corner, followed with weak silent sobs. On alert, he softly tugged the hand to pull the person out from the corner, meeting with a small girl. Barely five to six winters old.

He immediately leaned and picked the girl up and retreated before anything could go south. Many Omegas were waiting outside ready to aid the victims. He handed the girl over to one Omega but the girl held onto Taemin's shirt, not ready to let the other go.

He understood the kid. After all he was a father himself. He gave the little one a soft smile, "I will come back... Let me bring others back real quick?"

The little girl hiccuped but let him go adamantly. She whispered, "the l-last one uncle... Last room..."

Taemin immediately understood that there was someone and sprinted to rescue.

Taemin's eyes widened as he entered the last room.

"JIMIN AH!!!" He wasn't recovered from the shock of seeing Jimin with Jungkook, just then his eyes landed on Soobin. His breathe stopped, while a dread took over his senses. The horror of seeing his child in such situation and that too in front of the only person he has been saving him from.

He saw Jimin loosing his consciousness and on instinct he bolted towards him. Before he could reach them, Jungkook had already picked Jimin up and he looked at the little boy..

"Hold onto me.", he quietly ordered with soft tone and waited for the boy to climb on his back. Soobin was looking back at the Alpha with amusement just then he saw Taemin approaching him. Suddenly a red flashed in his iris that made Taemin halt for a second. He took defensive stance in case if Jungkook tried something funny. But then Jungkook got the hold of his senses and Taemin didn't waste any time to pull Soobin and bolting outside.

The screaming from outside was taking its peek. From the muffled sobs and voices in between the screams they could barely make out that apparently the roof was about to collapse.

"Beta Lisa, we need to make run before anyone catches us around. Look, even the palace soldiers are also here now. The crowd is increasing and we cannot be here at this moment."

An alpha whispered as he looked at the female beta with crazed look, looking at the burning place. She completely ignored the Alpha and looked at the place with enraged gaze trying catch a face she was longing for so long. The helper Alpha shook Lisa by arm and she hissed back at him.

"I still haven't found Jimin!! I cannot go from here!!! I escaped because that damned soldiers got in the way!!! What were they doing here in the first place? Did anyone know about our plan??", she growled at the younger Alpha with suspicion lacing her voice.

"What!? Do you think I don't value my life to do such funny business? Looking at the presence of royal guards, I doubt you now. If I knew you would be doing this to attempt something against royal family, I surely would've gone to them to let them know. But no, it wasn't me—"

The Alpha didn't get to complete his sentence, Lisa had cut his throat open. The blade in her hand dripped of blood in the soil while the nameless Alpha's body collapsed to the ground shaking, fighting for Life.

Lisa gazed down in disgust,

"I hate failures..."

When Jimin opened his eyes, he was lying on one of the makeshift mattresses on the ground outside Kisaeng house's clearance.

Taehyung had sent the help the moment he got the news of the incident. He himself was checking all the arrangements and medical facilities to be provided. While many onlookers from the town had gathered to assess the situation and make gossips out of it. Of course, why would they "care" about Kisaengs?

Jimin stood up with difficulty, his head still throbbing. But there was no apparent injury on his body so he decided against the rest to look for the little boy...

'Beanie', he had heard before collapsing.

He started making way among the lying victims and their makeshift beds carefully but in a hurry. He needed to see the boy. He needed to make sure that it wasn't Taemin he saw and it wasn't his pup who came for his rescue. He needed to make sure that his Omega's call for the pup was false the moment their eyes landed on him.

But he couldn't get too far when he was met with a hard chest. The impact almost sent him tumbling down but before it could, two arms were steadying him by the firm grip on his own arms.

"Careful..."

"Your majesty, I—"

"You should return to palace. All the Omegas also are being shifted to a safe place. Kisaeng house is no longer safe or even available. You would come to the palace, since you're still bound to the Palace contract. So it's better that you return for the time being.", Jungkook said. Jimin was left speechless. He never had seen Jungkook this eerily calm or serious. He wasn't getting what was going on in his head.

"But your majesty—"

"I have already sent them to palace and they will also stay there for the time being. Until the case resolves.", he said. Omega was confused but then he got the hold about whom the Alpha was talking about. And the overall demeanor of alpha made it even more clear.

He knows.

Shit, he knows now.

Jimin's hands started trembling with fear as dread fell over him. He grabbed the Alpha by his arm and looked at him with pleading eyes.

"Look Alpha, he is not who you think he is— I can explain it to you—"

"Jimin, let's go from here first. You will get to talk in the royal court tomorrow.", he said with finalized tone with no specific emotions and Jimin's tears started flowing uncontrollably. The onlookers had turned to them and whispers arround them grew louder.

"Alpha please—"

"OMEGA!!", he growled making Jimin halt. "Let me do my duty of being a king. Do you want me act like a father now so that you will loose your child forever?? Don't forget, I'm a king, and any decision I take is final. If I start acting emotionally, you won't get hold of our child at all... So please—", Alpha's voice trembled at the end. He pulled Jimin closer and placed his forehead over the Omega as he whispered for only him to hear....

"—let me do my duties correctly once."

So I'm leaving the country for further studies. And before that I have to complete all the pending work in my office before I leave. So yeah... I'm thoroughly exhausted but I know it will be worth it.
