Seven Years Back:

"Where are we going??"

Taemin stared at the darkness in front. The only light cutting through it was coming from the dim lamp they were hanging on the top of their chariot. Jongin had joined him on the way back to Busan.

He met Jongin just two months back along with his mate Kyungsoo. They instantly clicked with him and he knew he could trust them with the truth. And so he had told them...

"You remember I told you about Jimin? The one my hyung adores?", he asked.

"Of course... You told he is currently residing in Kisaeng house.", Jongin answered.

"I got the message that he has given birth just yesterday. We're going there to pick up the pup before the King gets the news.", Taemin had calm expressions on his face though Jongin could see the storm behind his eyes. He decided not to question him for now. He understood that it was something Taemin had to do.

"Will you meet your hyung?", he asked instead. Taemin smiled a little.

"No. I don't want my family to face any trouble because of me. It's for their own good that I don't meet them.", he could sense the tear drop that rolled down silently or the waver Taemin's voice had. Jongin had decided then, he will do everything to help his friend.

"Keep my pup safe, hyung...", Jimin cried as Taemin held the newborn pup in his hands. He leaned down to kiss the sleeping pup's head for the countless times, "Please be safe my pup, wherever you go... Never return here, my baby... Never return. Your e-eomma loves you, beanie..."

Taemin hugged the grieving Jimin and placed a chaste kiss on his forehead. They didn't have any time to waste. They have to leave Busan before the spies of King get any news of a runaway "criminal" freely wandering inside the borders.

"Don't worry Jimin ah... I will take care of him...", Taemin assure him and carefully covered the sleeping bundle with a blanket and took off from there...

Taemin sat behind with the still sleeping pup on his lap, still staring at him. He didn't understand how to feel. He was finally on his way back with the pup. The last few hours have been very emotional but Taemin stopped himself crying everytime. Even though ut pained him to take the newborn pup away from his mother, he had to do it because the situation didn't allow him otherwise.

Suddenly a jerk brought him back from his thoughts. Jongin had stopped the chariot abruptly and somehow it seemed to wake the pup since it whimpered with his baby face started slowly scrunching up.

Taemin looked in front to see what made Jongin to stop the chariot so suddenly and his breath seemed to stop that moment.

He was standing in front of their chariot.

Face contorted in anger mixed with pain...

Taemin immediately hopped out before Jongin could approach the other. He was confused but he didn't knew the history they shared. So he stood behind as he saw Taemin approaching the Omega who stood in their way.

The Omega stood looking at Taemin with pain, slowly tears starting to roll down his beautiful face while looking at the Alpha. His eyes were stuck at the crying bundle in Taemin's arms.

Taemin immediately understood his questioning gaze and started panicking.

"J-jonghyun... Please, this is not my pup—", he tried explaining but he was cut off when he was met with a loud slap over his cheek. It left his skin tingling as he eyed the Omega with wide eyes.

It was given that his beloved Omega will take the wrong idea seeing the pup in his arms. Almost a year back Taemin had ran away from prison to save his dignity rather than getting punished for something he never did. While running away he never looked back, not to his family, friends or the Omega he promised to mate. His beloved Jonghyun.

"J-jongh—", another slap rang through the air. The pups destressed cries filled air because of the soured pheromones of both the adults. Jongin was froze in the back too.

Without saying anything to Taemin Jonghyun slowly took the pup from his hands and started waving him back and forth to calm him down, slowly releasing his calming pheromones for the little one.

"What's his name?", he asked quietly. Taemin was confused by his actions.

"Bean. Beanie..", Taemin stuttered. He hasn't given any name to the pup yet. Beanie was something Jimin used for him while he was in womb.

"Soobin. From today, his name is Soobin. Jimin and I decided this name.", Jonghyun answered. Taemin was even more confused now. "I met Jiminie. I know what happened, I knew you were coming for the pup. I just wished you would come to meet me at least once... But... You are one hopeless Alpha, aren't you?", he scowled but there was no malice in his voice. Just pain.

"I'm sorry..", apology came easily when it was towards his Omega. Jonghyun looked up, his eyes still teary but face hard.

"Why?"

"I couldn't... I couldn't trouble you—"

"Shut up. I'm not forgiving you yet. How dare you decide what was troubling for me than leaving me behind without any word?", he scoffed. Although he looked angry, he was holding the pup with utmost care. His hands slowly caressing the pup's head and pup seemed to have accepted the Omega's affection quite well.

"Let's go now."

"B-but..."

"Shut up. And... Don't you dare ever say this is not your pup. This is our pup. This is not just yours but our path from now on. This is both of our responsibility from now on...", Jonghyun said and started walking towards the chariot.

Taemin was dumbfounded as he saw Jongin shrug playfully and climb the chariot.

Taemin was certain, even if he would have to live like rogue for rest of his life probably, it didn't bother him. Because he had his Omega besides him after all. And the little beanie. His "own" pup as Jonghyun stated. He could be happy in any condition...

But this happiness wasn't long lasting because only a few days after picking up the pup from Jimin, the King's spies caught the news. While they were traveling through the forest, they chased them down and finally attacked on them.

They were merciless, they surely were after his beanie's life. What this little pup had even done to them?? He was not even a month old. Jonghyun had fought back and took the attack on himself while saving their pup.

His selfless, precious Omega was killed by those bloodthirsty monsters, and he couldn't do anything but run for his pup's life...

"Save our pup hyung..."

His Omega's last words and his pained face was gonna haunt him forever.

"Where are we going Appa?"

Taemin was brought back from the darkest memories by his little pup. He pulled the pup over his lap and started caressing his head lovingly, scenting him. Pup also leaned over his Appa's chest happily.

"To bring your Eomma with us..."

He eyed the way his pup's eyes sparkled with joy and his mild pheromones of oranges started filling up the space. When Soobin started developing the Omegan scent, they knew he was gonna present as an Omega. Generally all the pups start developing their scent after 5 winters and the nature of pheromones decides what rank the pup is gonna present as when it comes 16 winters of age.

It was quite clear, Soobin was gonna present as an Omega. But that didn't falter him, instead all their rogue friends started fussing over the pup even more. He was people favourite. He still kept training his pup like any Alpha pup would. He didn't see as any less. He was still his precious pup.

"I can't wait to meet Eomma!!!", the pup squealed while hugging his neck. Taemin laughed while hugging the to his chest.

"Yes pup, it's our path now..."

He needed to get Jimin out of there. By what he came to know and saw, he knew Jimin was being pestered by the King. He needed to save Jimin and that's why they were headed towards Busan with their whole troop in speed.

But on reaching the scene which greeted them didn't help their suspicion of them being oppressed by King when they saw the Kisaeng house was on fire and screams of Omegas filled the air. Immediately Taemin and his pals were on rescue mission.

Taemin tucked the pup in blanket and told him to stay inside chariot.

"Beanie, stay here. We will meet your Eomma soon, alright?", Taemin advised hastily. He didn't want to frighten the pup by mentioning his Eomma might be trapped in the fire. He disappeared leaving the pup behind in chariot while he called Kyungsoo to stay on guard.

"Kyungsoo, I will go find Jimin ah. Goddess, have mercy and keep him safe. Hoseok, let's go!!", he ordered and entered the area.

Soobin heard his Appa's words.

"Eomma... Inside the fire??", the pup's eyes filled with tears. He grabbed the sword his Appa has made for him and trained him.

"I need to go and save my Eomma. I'm a warrior, like my appa says. I need to go...", the pup talked with himself and looked at the burning fire with determination...
