(Sonic's POV)

I and my boys are looking in the store to find awesome formal suit jackets only because we don't wear pants. I hope the ladies don't complain about it because we don't like girls complaining about it.

"So what are you gonna get, Sonic? Some Scottish styled clothing?" Tails wondered.

"No way I'll wear a kilt." I shook my head.

"Japanese or American style?" Silver asked.

"Maybe the Japanese type." I looked at some uniforms.

I like the style of the formal Japanese suit like Men in Black. Black is always the traditional outfit for men when it comes to taking a lady to dance. Tails was going for the French outfits. Shadow was going for the Transylvanian style like Dracula. I know Vlad Dracula was one sadistic prince who had dinner while watching his enemies getting impaled. Some say that Shadow's red eyes look like a vampire.

"Are you gonna bite someone's neck and make her your bride?" I teased him to get a reaction.

"I'll be biting your neck if you stop getting in my personal space." He lowly growled at me.

"Suit yourself," I replied.

"I am damn serious, Faker." He made that scary glare.

"Oh, right sorry." I got away from him.

Silver was looking at the futuristic suits which fit his taste of style. He picked one suit that had some cyan highlights.

"Time traveler to the future, psychic boy?" I teased him.

"Girls love modern style." He said.

"And I thought you liked German-style," I replied with a chuckle.

"I do." Silver said.

"Your taste has changed a bit?" I asked.

"Mostly yes." Silver said as he takes the futuristic suit jacket.

I went to Knuckles to see what he likes, and from what I saw, he's more interested in Greek style.

"Hmmm..... Does this make me look god-like?" He held out his suit.

"More like Ares since you have rage and war within you like him," I smirked.

"Why would I start wars?" Knuckles replied.

"Anger and rage always lead to war. And you always get overprotective with gems and diamonds all the time." I answered.

"Makes me more of a guardian." Knuckles said.

"More like it." I agreed.

As we all checked out to find great suit jackets, we all head back to the high school campus.

"I'm sure Cream will like this one." Tails looks at his jacket.

"My little brother is growing up." I was impressed that my fox brother is finally impressing Cream.

"Thanks." Tails smiled.

"You guys feel ready to impress your ladies at the gala next week?" I asked them.

"Yes, I hope Blaze looks purrfect." Silver said.

"Cat puns? Really? Have you been playing with cats in your whole life?" Shadow was not amused.

"No, but I learned that Egyptians used to worship cats. Blaze is like my lifesaver and my sunlight." Silver said.

"More like you'll have cat whiskers if you keep using cat puns too much." I teased him.

"Yeah, maybe." Silver said.

(Amy's POV)

Today is Saturday which means no school and the girls and I are just having fun with a makeover in my dorm room while Sonic and the boys are just doing what the boy routine does. I was applying some flower-inspired makeup.

"Perfect. Some more work will do." Rouge said.

"Tell me again why purple, black, and sometimes dark blue is your thing, Nebula?" Hex asked.

"The colors relate to galaxies and nebulas and I like those in colors. Even for makeup too." Nebula said, applying purple eyeshadow, "And because my fur is violet-blue, the other colors don't match me."

"That figures." Hex said.

"Tell me, Hex. Can you sense body heat like a real regular snake?" Blaze asked.

"Yes, and it's always easy for me when it comes to infrared when I see red or orange through my thermal eyes. Especially in the dark." Hex said, applying red lipstick.

"Pretty cool. I wish I could do the same." Blaze joked.

"Because of your flames?" I teased.

"Yeah." She nodded.

Rouge was applying blue eyeshadow on her eyelids.

"What about you, Rouge? What color makeup inspires you?" I asked.

"Blue like my eyes. Usually, Aquamarine colors like birthstone gems are my favorite. My fur color only on my face and hair is the easiest color to have other colors." Rouge said.

"Cool. I've seen you use purple sometimes." I said.

"Like the amethyst crystal, I do," Rouge smirked and applies pink lipstick.

"You like the ancient Egyptian tradition makeup, Hex?" Nebula asked.

"Yup, Cleopatra and Nefertiti are my inspirations. As well as Ramses and King Tut." Hex chuckled.

"You're turning into Meretseger the goddess Egyptian with a cobra head." Blaze chuckled and applied magenta eyeshadow.

"Indeed, I am, Blaze." Hex laughed.

"I thought Anubis and Horus are your favorite Egyptian gods," I said, finishing up with applying some blush.

"They are among them." Hex said.

"The gala is next week. I sure hope that Scourge and Fiona don't try to ruin it. Remember last year that they cheated by earning a king and queen crown by switching names on the winners? Cheaters don't earn to win because cheating is like breaking the rules." Cream said, applying yellow eye shadow.

"I better hope they don't try," I said.

"Why can't Mrs. Acorn see that those two are winning and students going through a lot of hell?" Blaze asked.

"Too much kindness is making her naive to understand that." Nebula said.

"She'll see it through soon like her daughter." Blaze said.

"Yeah. Sonic told me Sally punched Fiona once in the gut for messing with her friends." I said.

"That was long back before she and Sonic departed," Rouge said.

"Yeah." I nodded and looked at the mirror to check my makeup.

"So far our make-up looks good," Rouge said.

"Yeah. Good work." I said.

(Sonic's POV)

"I know you all missed me so much, I have missed you too guys. What has life been without me around?" I asked them.

"Pretty boring. It's not the same having my best buddy around. You're like a big brother to me." Tails said.

"Thanks, bud. Is too much hell going on around you guys?" I asked them.

"Well for me it was just mostly being alone and relax." Knuckles said.

I ate my chili dog that I haven't had for 5 days, "I see. What about you Shads? Do you miss me so much that you wanted to see me or kill me metaphorically?" I teased him to get a grumpy reaction from him.

"No other challengers at the tournament plays were as skilled as you. I wanted my rival back." Shadow said in an emotionless tone.

"Aww....you sound so desperate and alone without me around. Must be a living hell for you" I chuckled at how he can't show his feelings to me because he's always good at not showing it.

"I can get through hell without it torturing my life. I never get scared of anything in my life." Shadow scoffed.

"Oh? If I was dead, you would have a hard time finding a new rival. As you said, no one is like me." I said with a little laugh.

Shadow didn't reply. A typical dark hedgehog that doesn't wanna argue about it like an immature kid.

"Anyone else?" I asked.

"Well, sometimes you and I are rivals when it comes to speed. I fly fast, you run fast" Silver said.

"That too yeah. You're like the positive rival while Shadow's the negative rival, no offense Shadow." I joked; Silver laughed a bit but Shadow didn't.

"I only laugh at dark humor, not sense of humor," Shadow said with no emotion again.

"Really? Oh well. What about you Espio?" I asked our chameleon friend.

"I have been spending some time with Hex a little since she and I are reptiles" Espio replied.

"Great. Seems you're a couple." I said.

"Friends actually" Espio corrected me.

"Shadow, I know you said you and Nebula are just friends, how is she able to see past your grumpy mood?" I asked.

"It's complicated." He said.

"If you don't wanna talk about it, so be it." I just shrugged.

"Both of you need to start socializing more" Silver suggested.

"Maybe so," Shadow said.

"Anyways, the gala and the football game are next week. I hope you guys are prepared for a big rain of hell to come." I said.

"Those big zeti boys don't know what's coming." Knuckles pounds his knuckles.

"I'll show them manners," I said.

"Oh yeah, that's my bro." Tails grinned.

"My manners are a fist of justice!" Knuckles said with aggression.

"Does it come with aggression to kick ass?" I asked with my cocky smirk.

"Guys, violence won't settle for the next week." Silver said.

"Zavok is the biggest big boy we all know. Remember last year my team lost against them?" Knuckles reminded them but me.

"Oh yeah, but we'll try to use our wits," I said.

"Zavok may know about punching but he has no strategy," Shadow said.

"He just prefers to challenge with his bare hands in tournaments than with lance or sword." Knuckles said.

"Damn. But we're gonna outwit them." I said confidently.
