"I LOVE you so much, Leo..." I cry, and his tears fall onto my cheek. "I would bet I love you more..." he says.

Our food is slowly placed down on the counter, as Leo chuckles, looking at the girl and smiling, and all of her worries were lost.

"Don't mind us!" He nervously chuckles and she nods, nothing changing her look of astonishment at Leo. She slowly moves away as I take a sip out of my straw from his coke.

"Can we just go to the dance tomorrow, pretend like everything is fine, like I'm gonna see you everyday and not only in December and June every year... Leo!" I scream, having a realization as he looks at me and cuddles his face into my neck.

"What?" He asks quietly, kissing my chest subconsciously. "You're not be able to wake me up on my birthday!" I say and my tears start flowing again, luckily nobody is noticing.

"Trust me, I'll fly home just to wake you up, just to see your little tired face." He says and I smile.

"There are so many more things Leo. Things that you won't be there for..."

"I'll make sure to call you everyday, make sure you don't get a boyfriend, make sure you are okay, just talk... I promise." He says and I nod.

He leans into my ear, "and if I call you then I'll know when I have to take an asap flight back here so I can fuck you when you're horny."

I smirk, squinting my eyes. "Or I can't just go to Blake-"

"His dick is small." Leo says directly and I laugh.

"Can I get a kiss?" I ask and he sighs.

"I don't know..." he mumbles and my face falls, "Why?"

"Because I don't think I'll be able to leave if your lips touch mine." He jokes and I sought wholeheartedly.

"Well I'll have to leave a good impression or you'll fuck a bunch of girls at your school!" I accuse and he shakes his head.

"No you're just going to have to constantly have sex with me when I come visit you." He says and I raise an eyebrow, "Would you be able to leave after that?" I ask and he laughs, "Fuck! No... I might just have to have sex with the girls..." he says and I growl.

He leans in and kisses my head. "You have to call me immediately after every one so they get scared away, and you have to only do it with girls who look at least vaguely similar to me, but none that are prettier than me."

"There are none... I don't think any could even make me hard." He says and I smile.

"I'll just wait for you." I wink and he lets out a long sigh.

"This is gonna be a fucked next four years." He says and I laugh. "I have to go through my last two years without guys being scared of you Leo. What's gonna happen then?"

His face goes red, "They better fuckin not!!"

I fluff my voluminous hair one more time and look at my satin dark green spaghetti strapped dress, our homecoming was a formal after all.

"Do you think Leo will like it?" I ask and Rose sighs, zipping my dress up a little bit more.

"Trust me, I know my brother and the one thing I'm completely sure about is that he'll get a boner just from seeing you, no matter what you wear. But I personally, think you looking smokin hot." She says and I smile as she shimmies into her own dark purple dress.

"I can't believe you snagged yourself Haze!" I say and she smiles, "Yea... I cant either." She says, looking down at her feet.

She's so happy with him.

"Reed never deserved you." I say with a shake of my head and I finish off my makeup.

"Yea... I think he could've deserved me... but he just thought that Marianna was better. I needed to learn that. I mean before Haze even told me how he felt he was helping me try to win over Reed... he such a good guy.." she says and I smile.

"How did he tell you?" I ask and she bites her lip. I zip the back of her dress up so the silk flows lushly over her shoulders.

"Well... I was complaining, saying nobody would ever love me. I was angry, and I didn't know whether to be bawling or frustrated. He asked, 'how do you know nobody loves you?' And I huffed, 'because! How could they?'... he shook his head and told me, 'well I know somebody loves you, Rosethorn'-"

"He calls you Rosethorn?" I ask with a small smile and she nods, "It's cute right?"

"Of course!"

"I know! Okay I'll get back to the story. I was pissed at this point and looked him directly in the eyes and said, 'Then why don't they just fucking tell me because I really need it!' I mean I might have seemed fine but he knew, and I'm sure you knew, that deep down after hearing about you and Leo, even though I knew it was gonna happen, I still thought I could lose you to him. Then Haze grabbed my face and screamed, 'I love you!' And he kissed me. Then I went to you blah blah"

"Oh... wow... you just left without saying it back!?" I ask and she nods, "I just left in general! I ran! He got so embarrassed he wouldn't talk to me, he started talking to Katy Swalls! She's like the opposite of me! So then I told him how I felt and that I was scared to not love Reed.... and he asked me in a date. So we skipped school... and then your awful day beat my amazing one by miles." She says and I laugh as I look at her.

"But... doesn't he go back the beach house?" I ask and she licks her lips... "he says he knows for sure that he can stay for the rest of his junior year.. but he's trying to make his family move out here. If it comes to it... maybe you and I could move out there and live in the beach house? I mean... Leo isn't gonna be there anymore-"

"Yea." I cut her off, "Did you hear?" I ask and she sighs, nodding. "Boys suck." She says and I shake my head. "The responsibilities they have to take care of suck when they're so cute that you fall in love with them." She corrects and I nod.

I rest my head on her shoulder and sigh, "because he doesn't suck, and I know for a fucking fact that Haze doesn't suck. But both of them have to leave... and Leo is leaving tonight. He's leaving me..." I say and she pushes my head up to look at her.

"Okay, you know I love you, Rox. You know I would do anything for you, including kill a man, and that I love how when we both have a shit life you lay in my shit with me. But! Shut the fuck up! We both know that my brother is leaving because as much as you make him happy, he wants to feel like he can take it. He wants to feel like he's able to be loved. You both would wait years and years for each other, and I for one know that my brother is so madly in love with you that he could never possibly forget about how he feels! He'll come over every holiday and it'll be just as hard to leave but also... you'll see how he's happier. He just needs to take care of himself. And you and I need to suck it up and deal with out boys leaving us because we know we are independent ladies!" She says and I smile before rolling my eyes. "Didn't you just say we were moving to the beach house to follow-"

"SHUT UP!" she says, smacking my arm as I giggle.

"You girls ready!?" Lucio yells from down the stairs and I look at Rose expectantly.

"Yes dad!" She calls and I grin, holding her hand and walking us down the hallway.

When we turn the corner to the stairs we can see the boys. I can see the boy I loved and love, and Rose can see her amazing boyfriend.

Leo's eyes are fixed on me as I giggle and wrap my arms around his torso. "Hi!" I say and he laughs, rubbing my back as he rests his head in mine.

"Hi!" He returns the same energy as me.

I can hear barley just mumbling from Haze into Rose's ear as her eyes sparkle.

Is that what me and Leo looked like?

"Okay, Jace?" Lucio asks and he moves his eyes up to look at him, our limbs still intertwined.

"Yea?"

"Will you come back here to say goodbye? Please?" Lucio asks sadly and Leo licks his lips. "Of course... I have to give Roxy a ride back anyway, she's not gonna be able to drive anywhere!" He pokes fun and I growl.

"We got my license!" I say and he leans down and shakes his head, trailing his tongue along his upper set of teeth. "Like you're gonna use it." He pokes fun and I shake my head with a little laugh, and his smirk turns into a smile.

I slowly flip him off as Leo's hands wrap around my waist. I kiss his chest, staining his white button up slightly pink. He looks down at the stain and smiles, licking his lips. He looks up at me again, "I'm never washing my shirt..." he mumbles, not meant for me to hear. He turns his head to Haze.   "Y'all ready?" He asks Haze and Rose and she unburies her face from Haze's chest.

"Yea," she says quietly. He looks at her like she was his world.

"Okay..." Leo mumbles, "Lets have fun, okay?"

I nod, kissing his cheek and leaving a small pink color that I wipe into his cheek.

We get into the car that Leo is driving, and Haze opens the door of his car for Rose.

They're so cute...

Once we get there, and after we take a tour of the food table where Leo way he and stuff my face with a smile, we hear the music change.

It's slower, a deeper beat and as much as I hate it I stand up and put my hand out for him to take.

"Are you really doing this?" He asks with a quirked eyebrow and I nod heavily. "I know you don't want people to know, and I know it doesn't even matter because we're not together-"

"It's fine. I'm not your boyfriend because I don't wanna have to break up with you again, but who the fuck cares? I'm leaving... let's just be happy." He says and I smile.

He stands up, and doesn't take my hand but reaches his out for mine, "now take my hand and let me be a man." He jokes and I giggle, taking his hand as we go onto the middle of the gym, where couples school-wide are dancing together.

"I don't know what I'm gonna be able to do without you, Leo..." I say and he holds my head into his chest, resting his head on mine.

"I don't know either..." he says and I swallow, breathing in his scent.

"The way you smell... I don't think I've payed enough attention to how amazing you smell. It's like the smell after it rains, but sugary. I love it so much it's been engraved into my mind, that when I smell rain I think of you. And god your voice... your voice is so smooth and beautiful and I can't believe I'm only gonna be able to hear it over the phone. Oh woah though... don't get me started in your laugh. It's like it vibrates through me and makes me laugh too! And then it's how pretty you are, Leo. God just thinking about how beautiful you are makes me wanna cry. I know guys don't like being called Beautiful or some crap because it's 'girly', but wow... your smile is the one thing that motivates me, Lee. Finally your fucking personality. You're so sarcastic which I love, we make fun of each other and then kiss and it makes me feel like somebody gets me. You're also a cocky dick but i love it. Plus we can blame your cockiness on your big cock," i laugh, "I love your confidence, how you think you could do anything... I love all of you, Leo." I say all of it in a quiet mumble and he lets out a long, painful sigh.

He digs his face into the crook of my neck and huffs, "I told myself I wouldn't cry tonight. I told myself I wouldn't kiss you. I told myself so many things that just aren't gonna happen. I love you... I just wanna be happy with myself." He says and I nod, leaning back and grabbing his face.

"You're perfect in my eyes and I could never see you any different. But... I don't know why I'm scared. Because I know that I'll love you when you get back for good... but also I know that there are so many people who love you too! Please.. I can't handle you leaving me and then not loving me. I just need that to be sure.." I sniff and he sighs.

He leans in and kisses my lips, it relaxes my whole body except my heart as I melt into his touch.

He lets out a deep breath when he pulls back, running his fingers through my fluffy hair. "God I wish I could show you how much I love you so that you know... you know that just sharing your voice everyday even if it's over the phone will make me stay in love for forever. Especially with the times I pissed you off and you didn't talk to me for a month." He jokes and I chuckle a little.

"You stole my doll, Lee! I was eight!" I say and he laughs, "Even if I didn't know it I still loved you, and trust me... I was catching the ladies back then too." He says with a wink and I roll my eyes.

He grabs my face as our bodies sway to the music.

"I don't think I've ever seen somebody so beautiful...." he whispers and I smile a little, "I'm looking at one of them."

He kisses me once more and then the music stops. "It's time to crown homecoming queen and king!" Charlianna Grosts cheers from the top of the bleachers that she transformed into a stage.

I hate Charlianna, and I hate her moans from Leo's doom in the other side of the wall even more.

Leo holds me closely still, but now we're facing the "stage" like everyone else, his hand grazing over my lower back soothingly as his breathing is steady.

"Homecoming king is... drumroll pleeeaaaasssseee!" She basically demands before clapping, "Jace Knight McClure!" She calls and he smiles, looking down and brushing the hair behind my ear before walking up stage with one of his most genuine smiles I've ever seen.

"And now homecoming queen!" She calls, and then claps, "Me! Your student body president! Charlianna Brooke Grosts!" She calls, placing their crown on herself.

She smiles at the crowd as she grabs Leo's hand, he stares at me with a mortified look. He doesn't want to be up there with Charlianna.

"Now you all might be wondering why were having all of this for homecoming, but our schools favorite senior, Jace, is leaving early for college. A great opportunity, But a sad loss for our school. So we'll give him a good night! Let's have the king and queen dance!" She cheers and he chuckles nervously, grabbing the microphone and smiling.

"Hi y'all but since I'm apparently the center of your guys' homecoming I'm not gonna force you to watch me dance with somebody I don't want to dance with, so get on with your night!" He calls, ripping his hand from Charlianna's.

He rushes down the bleachers and makes it to me. "You're so lucky you didn't get beat up, some girls live for that shit." I say and he chuckles, flipping me off.

I take his hand and kiss his finger.

And I know, no matter what time or date, that he will always be mine.
