Roxanne

I got my fucking period.

Of course, I would.

Cuddled up with the hottest man I've ever seen and I get a fucking visit from the crimson tide. I ran to his bathroom in hopes that one of his lady callers left behind a tampon or something, but there was nothing there.

I didn't expect there to be.

So I found a notepad and pen and left him a note. Hopefully, he isn't too pissed.

The walk back to his bar wasn't too bad, but it still sucked. I still didn't have a jacket or anything and the morning air was cool against my bare skin. Add in the fact that I was walking with toilet paper stuffed up in there...I'm sure you get there.

When I finally arrived at the bar, I didn't expect to see Axel and another guy - who does look familiar, but I'm terrible with names - sitting outside, puffing on a cigarette. Knowing that I won't be able to leave without at least acknowledging them, I head over and force a sweet smile onto my lips.

"Morning boys."

"Mornin', Angel," Axel says in that smooth voice of his. I'm sure if I met him first, I would have dropped my panties for him in a heartbeat. The man sure is a stunner. A man whore, but a stunner nonetheless.

"I'm just here to grab my bike and then I gotta take off." I gesture towards my Harley standing beside what I assume to be their bikes.

"Jax know you leaving in the middle of the night?" He asks, raising a brow.

"Nah, he's sleeping. Didn't want to wake him with my lady shit." I wink as he visibly cringes. "You know how it is." The other guy laughs and Axel rolls his eyes. "I'll be around."

Walking over to my bike, I realize I again don't have a helmet. Shit. "I forgot my helmet at Jax's. Do you happen to have a spare?"

The unknown man nods his head and walks over to his bike, pulling out a bright red helmet with the Sons of Silence insignia on it. Double shit. "Here," He says, tossing it to me.

I hesitate for a second and I see him narrow his eyes at me. Forcing myself to put the helmet on, I offer him a smile and get onto my bike. I'll have to avoid people so they don't see this. I can just imagine the uproar it would cause.

Nodding at the two men, I send my bike into motion and make the long journey home. I live in the city which is a huge change from the country roads. The chances of someone seeing me in this stupid helmet skyrocket the second I see the city limit sign.

My heart races as I speed through the city, ignoring stoplights in an attempt to get to my apartment. Thankfully, It's now only five in the morn. Hopefully, everyone is still sleeping.

I manage to get inside my apartment without running into anyone that could rat on me. Well, at least I think I do. When I get inside my apartment, I throw the helmet inside my closet and run to my bathroom.

I don't think details are needed here.

Once I am cleaned up, I slip into the cool blankets of my bed - instantly missing the warmth of Jaxon's body beside me. Slowly, exhaustion settles in and I fall into a deep sleep.

Being woken up always sucks, but I don't think there is anything worse than being woken up by banging on your door. The sound is fucking terrifying. I'm pretty sure I just had a bloody stroke.

"I'm fucking coming, relax" I holler as I force myself out of the covers. Grabbing a black, silk robe, I wrap it around me and head to my door.

"Open up, Rox!" Dean's panicky voice booms from the other side and I quickly unlock the door and swing it open.

"Fuck, you're okay. Thank God." He mumbles before wrapping me in a hug.

I push him away and furrow my brows. "What are you talking about?"

"The Sons of Silence fucking attacked us." He says, his eyes dark with anger. "We couldn't get ahold of you. Your phone just kept going to voicemail. Your dad and brother are losing their shit."

"Is everyone okay?" I ask as I turn and grab my boots, pulling them onto my bare feet. I know I will have a blister or two later, but that's not important.

"Couple injuries. They were just sending us a message. Tate's pretty fucked up. He's in surgery now." Tate is a prospect and Hunter's half-brother.

"Shit," I mumble, grabbing my keys.

"Are you going to get dressed?"  He asks, eyeing me.

"I'm fine. This is more important. What are you driving? Take me there?" I ask him as I push him out of my apartment and lock the door.

"Yeah, let's go. You gotta see your dad and brother first."

"I want to see Tate. He's like a little brother to me."

Dean shakes his head and presses the button to the elevator. "You don't understand, Roxy. Prez is furious. He almost took your brother's title away from him for kicking you out of the house. I haven't seen him this mad since your mother took off." He says. "He really thought something happened to you, Rox. We all did. Your phone just kept ringing." His voice is emotional and hard as a look of pain crosses his face.

I suck in a deep breath and nod my head. "My phone is at the house. I didn't have to the time to grab it before leaving yesterday. I'm sorry."

"You don't need to apologize, I get it. I was just worried about you," He tells me, giving me a sad smile. "I just needed to know that you were okay."

"Why didn't dad or Trevor think of coming here?"

"I don't think they were thinking of much of anything except for the worst case scenario. I said I would find you."

"Okay," I say as the elevator door opens.

I follow him to his truck and get in the passenger seat. Bringing my knees to my chest, I look straight ahead out of the windshield. My thoughts are burning within my head.

Jaxon retaliated. It's wrong of me to expect him not to, but it still hurts. I don't understand how this war started between the Red Devils and the Sons of Silence, but surely there is some way for it to end. There has to be.

I must have been lost in my head because the next thing I know, we are pulling into my father's driveway. My heart jumps into my throat as my breath quickens.

I don't want to be here.

The second the truck is thrown into park, I see my brother storming out of the house with a look of pure fury on his face.

I open my door and say, "Hey Trevor."

He, however, wasn't here to talk.

His large fist grabs the front of my robe. Pulling me out of the truck, he slams me against Dean's truck - knocking the breath out of me.

"What the fuck are you doing, man?" Dean yells, rushing around the truck.

Trevor pulls out his gun and points his gone at him, stopping him in his tracks. "Stay out of it," He orders and Dean looks at me apologetically.

"Where the fuck were you?" He spits into my face.

"I was sleeping at my apartment. You kicked me out remember?"

He pushes me against the truck, making me hit my head hard against the frame. "Why weren't you answering your fucking phone then?"

"I kinda didn't have time to grab anything yesterday after you kicked me out of the house, asshole."

"Don't fucking go there."

I push against him with all my might, successfully making stagger back a few steps. "You are a fucking mess." He sneers.

"What the fuck is your problem?" I yell, pushing him again. "I didn't do anything!"

"You didn't do anything?" He scoffs, rolling his eyes. "You are fucking everything up! Here we are worrying about you when Tate is in the fucking hospital with a bullet hole through his chest fighting for his fucking life! We should be going after the bastards who did this, but of course, dad has the entire club out looking for you!"

"That's not my fault!"

"Enough!" My father's voice roars from behind Trevor, making us both turn to him.

"I'm sorry, Daddy," I say running up the steps towards him. "I didn't know about the attack. I would have been here right away if I had."

He wraps me in a tight hug and whispers, "It's okay, Roxanne."

"It's not. Is Tate going to be okay? I need to see him, dad."

"That's not an option. At least, not right now." He says pulling away from me, his face turning to the hard President that I don't see too often. "Hunter doesn't want you there. Come on, we got church."

I follow after him, ignoring my brother's hateful stares. I keep my head down as I take a seat beside the Stevens twins - Larson shooting me a suggestive wink, making me wish I would have gotten dressed this morning.

I watch as my father takes his spot at the front of the room. Trevor takes a seat near the front as far away from me as he could possibly be.

Everyone's eyes are on my dad - the President. He looks around the room, silently taking attendance before he begins.

"These Sons of Silence fuckers are messing with the wrong men." He starts, followed by a chorus of agreements. "This needs to end! I will not allow any more of my men to be shot down by them!"

"We should attack them tonight when they least expect it." My brother states as he stands from his seat. "They will all be celebrating their 'victory'. They won't see what's coming."

"No!" I blurt out. Everyone's attention snaps to me and I pale at the attention. Clearing my throat, I continue, "That is what they will be expecting. They know that you are pissed. They know that you will be coming for them. They will be ready for you."

"What do you suggest, Roxanne?" My father asks, curiously.

I step up towards the front of the men beside my father and look out at all the members of the club. The watch me, waiting for my words with anticipation. With as much confidence as I can muster, I say, "We wait."

"What? That's fucking-"

"Let her speak," My father interrupts Trevor and turns back to me. "Continue."

"Like I said, it's simple. We wait. Let them sweat and when they think we gave up, we strike." I tell them, watching all the men nod as the take in my words. "It gives us time to fully prepare. Up the training. Get more guns. Whatever you need. Then we will show them what we are capable of."

I swallow nervously as I turn back to my father and wait for his reaction. He's quiet as he mulls over my words. I begin to sweat. I can't let them attack Jaxon again. I need time. If he attacks tonight...

"I like it." He says, a grotesque smile forming on his lips. "Well done, Roxanne. Men, we will do just that. Dagger, you get the men ready."

"Got it, Prez," Dagger says, winking at me.

"Trevor, you take Dean and see what we need. Garrett. Larson. You do whatever it is you do. When it's time, we will put those fuckers in the ground." He growls. "Dismissed."

Trevor is the first to go, bumping my shoulder roughly as he passes me. I watch as the rest of the men leave one by one to go do what needs to be done - some patting my shoulder as they walk past.

When the last man leaves, my father steps towards me and places his hand on my shoulder. "I'm proud of you, Roxanne," He says, a warm smile on his face. "Didn't know you had it in you."

"I learned from the best," I say, giving him a week smile. "Dad, can you give my best to Jack and Elizabeth? I wish I could be there for them."

"I will," He tells me and I nod my head. "I'm sure this shit with Hunter will die down soon, don't worry."

Not if he finds out about the bar.

"You just need to stay away for a while. That girl of his is his world. He doesn't want to lose her."

"I know, Daddy. I'm gonna be at my apartment for a while." I place a kiss on his cheek. "I'm just going to grab my phone and head out. Love you."

"Make sure you keep it on, Roxanne." He scolds and I laugh. "Love you, too."
