SUMMARY:

Avery Stark should have been a genius. It's not because she isn't brilliant or can't build things like Tony Stark. It's because she can't read.

Born with dyslexia, she struggles with learning math and science. It's hard for her to understand anything on the subjects when the sentences and numbers get all mixed up. Worse, it's caused a rift to grow between her and her father, who, without Avery to put him in his place, grows more and more self-absorbed every day.

Avery feels like her life can't get any worse, until her old family friend Obadiah Stane comes into the picture. He makes her an offer of putting her in charge of overseeing a few secret weapon shipments to Afghanistan. Avery agrees, eager to do something other than watch as she ruins the Stark family name. As she completes more and more shipments, she begins to hide things from Tony. But every time she feels like coming clean, she reminds herself it's just a job.

Only a simple job.

Until the day it takes a dangerous turn. 

Avery Stark just wanted to prove she could be someone outside of being a failed genius, but will it all be worth it when her father is caught in the crossfire and she's forced to come to terms with what she's done?

NOTES:

- Avery's dyslexia is part of her character. You may have to do some research in order to portray it correctly.

- Although Avery is not directly responsible for Tony's kidnapping, she blames herself for it and for trusting Stane later on. 

- Tony eventually comes to forgive Avery and trust her again after she does something to regain his trust.

- Avery's relationship with her mother and Tony was good until her mother's death, which drives Avery away from Tony, who takes to partying and drinking to block out his grief. (This is takes place a few years before Iron Man.)

- Tony could build her an Iron suit.
