WARRIORS: A One-Shot
(I've only read the second book of the Warriors first series, so forgive me and my little knowledge. I won't be mentioning many leaders, but I'm sure that ThunderClan's is Firestar judging from his name.)
A storm was brewing. Ominous dark clouds were crowding over FourTrees. All of the Clans were in their camps, sheltered from the future thunderstorm.
As time slowly passed on, the first raindrop fell to the grass. Followed by the second. And the third. And the fourth. And so on and so fourth, until a light pitter-patter was heard as tadpoles of rain hit the rocks and ground beneath.
A steady rhythm began as increasingly heavier drops started forming and splattered the land of FourTrees. No cat could be seen roaming around at this time, and furthermore, no cat wanted to be seen. StarClan was sending a message that it was time for the plants to be watered and that no cat should disturb them. Even the mere Twolegs were shutting in the dogs and kittypets and closing their doors.
A loner appears, his soft paws hitting the wet ground. He was trying to look for food. This loner was a grey tabby tom, with white paws, a tail tip and a ring around his eye. His left eat was in a tattered state from his recent battle with an adder.
Suddenly, there was a loud crescendo of thunder, and the poor loner jumped, his hackles rising, as he slowly hissed and padded towards shelter. He sat by a tall pine, hoping to get some rest under its canopy of leaves.
Just then, another boom of thunder goes off, and an electric current is sent shooting straight at the tall pine tree.
The tabby tom fizzed his fur and fainted, his pelt all charred at the end. His tail made the last movement of twitching, and then no movement for a very, very long time.

The sun had just made its way past the horizon, streaking the sky with beams of yellow and orange. A small she-cat was having a little walk around the Fourtrees, frantically looking at the sun to see how high it had risen after the last time she checked. From the sun's position, she realised it was just past dawn.
As she continued her walk, she caught sight of a grey tail sticking out of the cover of a pine. With curiosity bubbling inside, she went to discover who that was.
With a gasp of horror, she realised that this cat was charred, his grey pelt ruined by some black ashes. She quickly ran up to him and used a tender paw to brush his pelt lightly.
This kind action disturbed the cat's slumber, and he twitched.
"Oh!" The she-cat exclaimed, her expression shocked.
"Wh-who are you?" The cat murmured, getting up from his position on the ground.
"I'm Tundrastripe, who are you? I haven't seen you before at the Gatherings."
"I'm Wheat," the cat replied, shaking his fur to rid the ashes.
"Wheat? No 'paw' or 'stripe' or 'star'? Just Wheat?" The she-cat sounded rather surprised at his answer.
"Oh, right. You're one of those cats in a Clan," he muttered, sitting by the tree again. She looked at him and narrowed her eyes.
"One of those cats?! Oh I know, you're a loner, that's what's with your name." Her tone had a scowl in it, before noticing his ear.
"What happened?" She asked, more tenderly this time. The tabby tom glanced at her with his green eyes.
"An adder attacked," he replied, turning his back once more.
"But... Doesn't it hurt?" She prodded, looking at it closer. The lightning had caused the wound on his ear to open, and thus start bleeding again. "There's blood coming out!"
"Oh, stop being so soft. You're a Warrior, aren't you? Judging by your name. Warriors aren't soft. They once saw my friend dead and ate him," Wheat scowled.
"Wha- Clan cats wouldn't eat other cats! We aren't cannibals!" The she-cat protested.
"Well, I'm all right whatever you say." He looked up at the blinding sun.
"Follow me, I'll take you to my Clan's medicine cat. She'll help you," Tundrastripe suggested, getting to her paws once again.
"Fine. But then I'm going home," he growled, following Tundrastripe's tail.

It was late morning when Tundrastripe returned to the WindClan camp. (Their medicine cat in my story is a cat called Gashtail, and leader is still Tallstar) She brought Wheat to Tallstar to explain the matter
"Tallstar," the she-cat bowed her head in respect. Wheat followed suit.
"Who is this? He doesn't smell like any cat from a Clan!" The leader exclaimed. Tundrastripe nodded.
"This is Wheat, he is a loner. His ear got hurt by an adder and I'm taking him to see Gashtail," she explained. The leader had a silent moment to think, then said, "All right."
The she-cat bounded happily away, ignoring the stares she got from the other Clan cats.
"Gashtail! Could you see to this loner for me? His ear got bitten by an adder!" Tundrastripe called out.
"Coming!" A voice mewed back, and then a silver tortoiseshell came padding out. "Oh my, what have you gotten yourself into? Come in, come in," the medicine cat invited them in.
The tortoiseshell brought out some cobwebs and poppy seeds, along with some cotton. She placed the cotton on his ear until it stopped bleeding, then stuck the cobwebs onto it.
"Here, take this," Gashtail pushed a seed towards him. He stared at hit with bitter disgust.
"Doesn't this taste really bad?" He asked, poking at it with his claw.
"It'll help the pain go away," stated Gashtail. The loner sighed and obliged, then munched up the poppy seed. Admittedly, he did feel better.
"I'll go now," he mewed, thanking Gashtail with a nod. "I'll rest."
"No! You're supposed to-" but Tundrastripe got cut off as Wheat ran off, past the cats in camp and back into the woods.
I guess loners are loners then, she thought. I must find him again. She felt something she hadn't felt in a long time since she met her first former mate. A surge of that ran up her veins, and she chased after his scent.
