Donnie shot awake, well, not awake really... He was in a void, devoid of color. His mind was a haze, his body disconnected. He saw a girl, a mutant, he couldn't see what type but- she looked like a turtle. It was like looking at a dream, then, he woke up.
Donnie shot awake, visibly shaken from his dream and he squinted, hissing slightly at the cold he felt. "I... where-" his breath hitched and he winced softly. His voice... it's not that high pitched, is it? He looked down at his hands, noticing that they were thinner, and the skin was grey-ish green, and not the vibrant green of his own skin tone. "How am I? I swear, if you guys are-" he looked around the room, seeing the barred door and the grey floor and walls. "This... isn't my room... where am I?" He winced at a yokai in the cell beside him, noticing the person covered in cuts and bruises not attended to. "Hey, are you okay?"
"Knock it off, 51034... you know what you did." The snake hissed and narrowed his eyes. The snake yokai was a rusty brown color with darker red stripes.
"But that's not-" He jolted when the bars to the cage opened- at least for him, and he saw a tray slid into his cage. The turtle crawled over to the cage door, not trusting this body. Donnie's eyes widened, looking at the quality of the food. The toast on his plate looked burned and saturated in butter. The jelly looked congealed and when the leatherback squinted, he noticed mold. He reeled back, noting that his snout was smaller and rounded like a beak. "Woah... I... can't eat that- sorry..." Donnie was confused by the quality of the food,
"Now the murderer has a weak stomach?" The aforementioned snake yokai snapped out, shaking his head with a disapproving glance. Donnie was confused, why is everyone in cells? What's going on? If this was a dream, he wanted to wake up. "I'm not a murderer! I'm a hero..." His blood boiled when the yokai began to laugh.
"Not a murderer... that's why the food on your plate is good!" the yokai scoffed, looking away. "51034, I hope you don't survive your next match." The rust-colored snake spoke coldly, turning his back on the leatherback.
"But I'm not.. I didn't -" He cut himself off, looking down into the glass of water and seeing the reflection staring back at him. A girl- he could tell as much from the eyelashes. A completely different species from himself, as noted by the rounded beak and softer features, as well as the height- he could tell everything was farther away in the physical sense. "What on earth?!" He nearly threw the cup in shock.
"That's not me!" He searched for something in the cell that would give him an answer, and he found a journal with a pencil. "Huh... So, that's... Unexpected..." He spoke slowly, dumbfounded for the first time in his life. "Who is this?" The voice that came out was higher, containing a rough rasp he didn't expect. His calloused and brittle fingers found the corner of the book and opened it. "That's... That's why everybody keeps calling me a number..." He spoke sadly, tears building up in those sea green eyes, different from his steel-onyx orbs. He hoped that this was a dream. "Five-One-Zero-Three-Four?" He questioned.
"A number combination-" he heard footsteps and skittered to write a message on the fourth page. 'Who are you?' he wrote, circling it and tossing the journal under the bed. He hissed, stomach growling at the fact he hadn't eaten. He decided to take a drink of the water, practically inhaling the entire drink with a sense of dread- like the body knew something would happen before he knew it. He was very uncomfortable and looked up at the guard.
The guard stepped into the cell, an adult female grabbed his arm and dragged him up. "I called for you three times! Come on, you have a match soon."
Donnie was confused, this has to be a dream- or a nightmare, nothing more than that. Just a nightmare.

51034 felt her mind running, felt her body moving in an odd fog and she saw a boy- no, a mutant? She tensed up, ready to attack him but watched in awe as the guy just bumped her shoulder. She stumbled and shook her head, running forward as there was no other option.
51034 shot awake, falling out of the bed, which was oddly cozier and plusher than she was used to. "Where am I?" she said softly, shaking her head. She yawned, confused as to what was going on. The softshell flexed her fingers, tapping down the front of her plastron, noticing that it was tougher, and she traced the edge carefully, wincing at how that action hurt as the edge was a little bit sharper than she was used to. "Damn- what's wrong with me?" She tensed up in alarm at the deeper, yet slightly high-pitched voice came out of her. That was not her voice. "What the hell?!" She screamed out, trying to breathe in and out, shaking her head, which she noticed felt heavier than hers, flapping her hands and arms, seeing the purple square markings on her shoulders. She jumped when she heard loud knocking at the door to the room, eyes snapping to the jarring noise.
"Donnie?! Why are you yelling? Is everything okay?!" A high pitched but still masculine voice could be heard through the door. 51034 was shaken by the events and shook her head. "But, but... that's not... who is that?" she whispered to herself, thinking this was a dream- it had to be. The bed was incredibly soft- better than she deserved by any means, and the voice trying to get into the room was calm and... worried almost? Damn, it was weird that someone was worried about her- well, not her per say, this body didn't look like her. For starters, this body was- well... to put it simply, it was short. She damn near fell out of the bed and winced when she caught herself. "Okay, okay... just- just keep calm..." she whispered, voice lower than she had previously thought. Then, she caught sight of a full body mirror, jaw dropping in shock. This was not her body that's for sure- who the heck was this... guy? She took a few steps, practically stumbling as her perception was thrown off. Is this how the smaller ones saw the world? Damn, she'd need to adjust to it. She put a hand on the mirror, jade green scales were apparent. Not to mention, square shaped patches, on the outer thighs, shoulders, and two blocks on the sharp jawline the body possessed.
"Donnie, are you okay in there?" A voice was again heard through the door and this sent 51034 to scramble for something to say. "I-I'm fine! Don't worry about me!" Okay, who the heck was that? Dammit this was weird. After getting her wits together, she sighed, rubbing her face. She didn't know what to do, she didn't know anybody here... it was odd. Everything was odd. It wasn't normal to feel safe, especially not in a place that wasn't her own. She shrugged and shook her head, sighing slowly as she noticed a purple hoodie. That looked safe for her to put on, feel covered at least. She made quick work of getting the hoodie on and left the bedroom.
This was just a dream- a rather good one, that she didn't want to wake from, as selfish as that sounded.
