The Kick, The Bridge and The Other Side

Something was off when Saeko heard a voice on the Walkie. She recognised the voice, yes... but it was very... different.

"Hello? Hello? Miss Busujima? Can you hear me?" It was Naz's! Saeko quickly picked up the Walkie and answered.

"Um... yeah. I can hear you... Naz..." Saeko got up and looked outside the minibus. "So uh Naz. What do you need?"

She heard Naz's laughter and there was a crash of glass being broken. "Oh no honey, please do not call me Naz... He is currently not here. You may call me by the letter 'G'. Mr. G-" Another smash of glass echoed through the speaker cutting off his sentence.

"And by the way... Can I ask you to discuss with your friends what your next plan of action is?" He asked Saeko. Another smash of something breaking. "Oh baby, don't break that one. I want it... sorry, in the middle of something at the moment and please don't say you wish to stay in that bus until tomorrow morning. Kindly call me when you've reach a decision."

Saeko was totally confused as to what was happening over wherever they are. "Right... I'll get back at you when were done." She said and there was a scream before another crash of wood. The voice that screamed sounded like Ashley's voice. Then she turned down the volume to 1.

Saeko got up from her seat and went to Takagi's. "Geez... I could've talked to Komuro if he was here." She heard Takagi said and smirked.

"Yeah... you like Komuro. I know..." Kohta sighed.

Saeko's P.O.V

Takagi flinched and yelled. "Don't be ridiculous!" She then turned and saw me and Ms. Marikawa looking at her. "What?!" She hissed.

I sighed. "I'm getting worried- about Komuro and Rei... I hope they can hold up till we can meet up." I looked outside at the rising sun and prayed that those two are safe.

As Mr. Shido kept babbling, I tapped Takagi's shoulder. "What?" I showed her the Walkie talkie that Ashley's boyfriend gave me. "Did she say anything?"

"Well... she wasn't the one talking this time..." I told her and Kohta turned to listen.

"You mean that crazy guy was on the line this time?" Takagi asked me.

"Uh yeah... except this time he doesn't sound crazy. He sounded... normal." Kohta and Takagi's faces doesn't look like they believe me. "You'll see what I mean when I call him."

Takagi folded her arms together and sat on the armrest. "So? What did he have to say?" Kohta asked me.

"He asked me to discuss our next move." I told them.

Then we caught Mr. Shido saying. "Komuro and Miyamoto? Were unfit to be in our family." I gave him the stink eye at his back.

"This guy is a goddamn maniac." Takagi said and I agreed.

I gripped the sleeves of my uniform tighter and stopped myself from slapping the vile man. "You got that right. He sounds like a recruiter for some kind of cult or religious group."

We watched as he preached on and on. "It doesn't just sound like it but it is. Look at the slobbering idiots hinging on his every word... like a bunch of scientologists or rather Shidotologists. I need to get out of here." Takagi pointed it out and I can see what she meant.

I sighed. "Back to our previous topic, given the condition on the road..." I watched as a man ran pass our minibus. "We need to get off our ride. We have to somehow get across Umbetsu bridge and head to the east police station. We're still supposed to meet up with Komuro." I tried thinking of ways to get us on the other side of the river.

Then I see Takagi grinning at me. "You're sure quite concern about Komuro aren't you? Aren't you worried about your own family?" She asked me.

I smirked at her and answered. "Course I am... but my father is my only family and he's at the dojo overseas. So the only people I really need to worry about right now is myself and Komuro." I snickered. "Really don't need to care about anybody else." I heard Takagi growled and so I tease her more to rubbed it in some more. "And just look at me... I mean if any of us is gonna get out of here alive, it's gonna be me right?"

Takagi laughed through gritted teeth and I giggled. "So... where is everyone's house?" Ms. Marikawa asks.

"The other side of the bridge." Takagi replied in a weird voice. "The same area as Komuro's."

Then Kohta butted in. "U-uh, my parents is not in the neighbourhood but- but I'll go anywhere as long I'm with Takagi..." He said as he blushed profusely and Takagi expressed her disgust hilariously.

Then I got curious. "So tell me Hirano, where is your family? They close?" I asked him and he embarrassingly smiled.

"My father is a jewelry merchant so he's gone to Amsterdam to buy stones. My mother is a fashion designer so she's been staying in Paris to-" He explained and the thing is...

Takagi yelled at him. "My god! Do you expect us to believe that crap!" His face doesn't show any signs that he's making it up. It's either that or he's really good at acting.

I silently giggled and Ms. Marikawa laughed it off, joining in the fun. "If it were in a manga, daddy were to be the captain of a cruise ship! A giant luxury liner!"

Hirano just scratched his head. "My grandpa actually was, and my grandmother was a concert violinist!" Then he laughed it off. Guess you really can't judge a book by it's cover. I can kinda see why he is so fat...

I overheard Takagi whispering to herself. "Ugh! Why couldn't he be better looking?" And I smiled sympathetically for her. I get what she's saying.

Ms. Marikawa pulled the handbrake and got up. "So? What are we gonna do? I want to come along with all you."

Bringing her along would be useful. If we get injured she could help. Then again, she's a bit ditsy on the head. "Are you sure?" Takagi asked her.

"Well, both of my parents passed away years ago and my relatives live far away..." Then she looked at the people at the back of the bus. "I know I shouldn't be saying this... but I think Mr. Shido is kind of a douchebag..." We silently laughed on that matter.

"We strayed way off topic. So what do we do? I don't know this area much... I gotta tell Naz something or Mr. G as he said it." I told them.

"We really need to check on Umbetsu bridge first." Takagi gave a suggestion.

Then I heard the creepy cult leader's voice. "What's the matter everyone? We need to work together otherwise non-"

Takagi cut him off and turned. "Thanks for the offer but I'm gonna pass Mr. Shido... We've got our own plans and FYI this is no field trip. I have no obligation to be with you. I've never had any classes with you anyway..." She informed him with a cheeky smile.

"I see..." The creepy four eyes gave us a creepy grin so I gripped my wooden sword.

'Hm... I may have to smack him to get out of here...' I slowly reached for the Walkie talkie on my seat and hid it behind me. I then pressed the button on the side.

He puts his hands together and glared at us. "If that's what you've decided than go right ahead, I won't stop you Takagi, how could I?" I got ready just incase it gets ugly. "This is a free country, not some iron fisted dictatorship." Mr. Shido chuckled.

Then I noticed his eyes on Ms. Marikawa. "However..." He slowly and disturbingly licked his lips. "I'm afraid you will have to remain, Miss Marikawa..." (This part of the show actually bothered the shit out of me btw! Gave me goosebumps! Shit!)

"Losing the doctor is a major blow to our current situation..." He said.

'He doesn't really care about her skills! He wants her oversized jugs!' Now I really want to smack him with my sword.

He took a step forward. "Would you please stay what do you say?" Then another step. "There are students who are relying on you..." He took another three steps before a nail grazed his cheek and past him and embedded itself in the head of the seat behind him.

Mr. Shido backed a step and held his bleeding cheek. "Y-you shot at me!" He stuttered.

I jumped when suddenly the door to the bus banged loudly and surprised me. I saw Naz outside with Ashley sleeping on his motorcycle.

I nodded to Ms. Marikawa and she unlocked the door. Naz pulled it open and climbed onto the Minibus. "He missed you on purpose asshole... oh and good job for letting me know what was going on Ms. Busujima..." He tapped my shoulder and I nodded.

"Bu-but he's not a violent student like that..." Mr. Shido stuttered.

Naz stood behind Hirano and pushed his arms down. "How many of my fellow students do you think I killed in school yesterday huh? And I could kill you too for all the ways YOU ALWAYS MAKE FUN OF ME!"

Naz laughed and clapped Hirano's shoulder. "Now now... If I cannot kill anyone else today then nobody can. At least not before I can give him a KICK TO THE FACE!" In a flash, Naz pushed Hirano to the side and gave Shido a hard front kick right in his face. Shido slammed down on the bus floor hard. His glasses snapped in half and his nose was bleeding.

Shido scooted away from the tall man. I think he held back his strength quite a bit after remembering how he lifted his bike on his shoulder like it was a sack of potatoes.

"Phew... much better. The annoyance of not being able to kill you is quite something." I watched as he straighten his leather jacket and smiled. "You need to thank Ashley for forbidding me to kill anyone today. How lucky of you!"

"If you guys wanna go, now is the time to do it... I'll make sure he doesn't stop you." Kohta aimed his gun at the creep again and Naz got off the bus first.

I went to the door and turned to Hirano. I grinned at him. "You're such a man~ I'm impressed." One by one, our group got off the minibus before Hirano got off and slammed the door shut.

"Now come! For our next adventure awaits!" Naz announced. "Ms. Busujima, you would be a dear and carry the princess for me?" He grabbed Ashley under her back and under her legs before lifting her.

"O-oh... right." He gently puts Ashley in my arms and went back to his motorcycle. "Why...?" I asked him as I watch him sheath a black machete inside the back of his jacket and hung his axe on his belt.

"Why? Oh young lady... who is going to carry Michael if I was holding her?!" He pointed out exaggeratingly. "We will need to get on the other side of the road. Away from the cars and the noise. My temper is a short fuse, so if I were to crack... we wouldn't want innocents to die now would we?"

All of us hopped the rail separating the roads and went further on the bridge while Naz steadily carried his motorcycle on his shoulder and followed suit.

When he dropped his bike, I laid Ashley on it and he popped the box on the back of the bike. "Anybody thirsty?" He pulled out two bottles of water and set them on the ground. "Share..."

Takagi came closer and leaned on the railing of the bridge. "I am... Thank you." Hirano sat down next to the bike and grabbed a bottle before handing another to Takagi.

"You seem... different than the last time we saw you last night." I asked and Takagi handed me the bottle that she was drinking.

"Oh yes... I am a different person. Well... not in physical terms. More mentally." He answered and waved his hand in front of his face.

Ms. Marikawa passed him the half empty water bottle and he puts it back in the box. "So... you're like, a split personality?" I saw his facial expression change when Marikawa gave her conclusion.

The air was tense for a moment and he suddenly clapped his hands. "Coooorrect! Hehe... I guess I should formally introduce myself." He straightened his jacket, cleared his throat and bowed. "You may called me G as all who knows me does... I am the other side of Naz's mind as we coexist in the same body."

I flipped the bottle into the box and G closed the lid. "So what now?" I asked him and we looked over at the barricades that was packed with police. "We won't be getting through any time soon."

"Well... I can't blame them. They are just following orders." G waved them off and looked somewhere else. "The real question is what are we going to do about those..." He pointed at something behind me and I heard moans.

In a surprised jolt, I instinctively spun and slammed my wooden sword on the head of a zombie. I heard the skull of the zombie cracking before flying to the side.

"Nice reflex young lady! I see that you have the skills and the eyes of a predator. You fight cleanly, my kind of style." I smack two more heads in and slapped another away.

'We're getting surrounded... this is not good.' I kept an eye out for Takagi and Ms. Marikawa as well as Ashley who is still somehow asleep.

I saw Hirano take down three more zombies before reloading his nail gun. "This is my last stack!" He yelled out.

I noticed something flew by Hirano and two zombies fell. I looked around for the source and saw G holding throwing knives between his fingers. He threw another and I focused on the one behind me.

"Ma'am! This is not good!" I heard G yell at me.

I slammed another zombie. "Why do you say that? Just fight like you usually do." I dodged a grab attempt from a zombie and snapped my sword at the back of it's neck.

G threw another knife at a zombie that was flanking Hirano and looked at me worriedly. "That is the problem! I don't do close quarters much that is Naz's speciality! This is not right persona for the situation!" Takagi looked at me and I signaled her to Ashley.

Takagi ran over to the bike and shook her. I killed another zombie but another will just take it's place. 'Damn it! Theres a lot of them.'

I heard Takagi's attempt to wake the bright purple haired girl. "Hey wake up!" "Ashley!" "Ey dumbass! Come on... Get! Up!"

But Ashley just won't wake up. Takagi looked at G who was kicking a female zombie away before punching another zombie girl. "Grr! ASHLEY! NAZ IS HITTING ON ANOTHER GIRL!" Takagi screamed loudly and Ashley jumped from the bike and onto her feet.

"WHERE IS HE?!" Ashley yelled, fists up and ready but then she saw the surrounding situation and G killing the two zombie girls on the ground. "Oh... that's what you meant... scared me for a second there. Shit Takagi."

Takagi grabbed Ashley's shoulders and shook her. "How can you be so calm?! We are surrounded by zombies!"

I killed two more zombies and flicked the blood off. "Just to let you know! I'm running out of nails!" I heard Hirano warn us.

I spun around another zombie and smashed it's head in. "Do you wanna borrow this?" I offered him my bloody wooden sword.

"I really don't do hand to hand combat!" Hirano whined and shot another zombie.

I turned back to the zombie in front of me. "I can't say the same..." I swung my sword and the blood splatters on the ground. "I'm actually quite fond it!" And so I charged.

"Princess! Get behind me!" I saw G push Ashley back. "Milady! How about an ego change and let Naz handle this?"

I ducked under a pair of arms and smack the legs of a zombie. "I can't... remember the password..." Ashley told him.

I backed away and took a breath. 'Fuck... there's about 13 of them left. I can't take them all alone... and Mr. G doesn't fight like the other guy do.'

"Takagi!" I spun around after hearing Hirano yell.

"Oh no..." I turned to rush over and help but the zombie that managed to get past us suddenly flew to the side as Mr. G punched it away.

"Eugh! The fucking thing's spit is all over my hand! Blegh!" Naz complained.

Suddenly, an explosion thundered the air. "Holy shit!" a dirt bike flew over our heads with Rei spearing a zombie in the heart and the bike landed on the bridge with Komuro on it.

Rei smacked the heads of two more zombies and speared another in the eye.

I watched Komuro throw something at Hirano and two shots felling two zombies came half a blink later.

Komuro ride on and made two zombies fly over the railing of the bridge into the water below using the bike's rear tyre.

Komuro sped over in my direction. "Gimme your hand!" He held out his hand and I grabbed it as he drifted pass me and I flew to the zombies killing all three of them.

"Phew... I'm not supposed to be in this situation." Mr. G said as he wiped his knuckles with a handkerchief.

I walked over to Komuro and Naz came beside me with a map. "If Mr. Komuro is here... that must mean that uh... " Mr. G looked closer at the map. "Toku... no si bridge?"

"It's Tokunosu..." I corrected him.

He folded the map and slid it in his pocket. "Thank you. Does it mean that bridge is also blocked off?" He asks Komuro and Komuro gave a confused look at Mr. G so I laughed.

"Yeeah... there's no way out..." Komuro looked at me for what I'm assuming is wanting an explaination.

"Later... but I have to confess, I'm really glad you're okay Komuro." I let out a sigh of relief and noticed Rei glaring at me so I smirked at her.

"I'm glad you're okay too Saeko." I felt something in my chest and felt the warmth creeping on my cheeks but I managed to calm myself.

Ashley slid up to my side holding a camera in her hand. "So what now?" She asked me. I gazed around us and saw the police looking at us.

"Don't know... by the way, where did you get the Instax?" I noticed a dried blood stain on the camera and a few stains on her skirt.

"I... stole it." She answered so nonchalantly.

"No hesitation on that answer huh?" She shook her head innocently. "Did you have to kill anyone to get it?"

"Nope! Well I didn't anyways..." She flashed me a rogue-ish smile and I noticed the look in her eyes. She calls everyone to Komuro and his bike before asking us to pose.

Ms. Marikawa and Mr. G passed on the offer and so It was just Me, Rei, Komuro and Takagi and Hirano I guess.

'There was a dangerous gleam in her eyes... one that gave me chills on my spine. She can kill... she kills living humans... and there was no regret in her eyes. She can do something that even I can't.' I thought to myself as Ashley took the shot. She showed off the picture that she took to us and I noticed that look directed at me.

I looked down at my wooden sword. "Why does it matter anyways right?" I ask myself and gazed at Naz or Mr. G. "Look at him... He was crazy before all this started. The world was already crazy even before this." I whispered to myself.

'The world has gone to shit... barely anyone cares anymore if we kill each other. But after that, can we still call ourselves humans?'
