<• Jack's POV•>

I didn't know what to feel. and judging by everyone's expressions, they didn't know how to feel either. including hiccup.

By the time we were up in the clouds again, the silence wasn't as peaceful... it was more uncomfortable.

And looking at hiccup made the feeling worse.

I held onto rapunzel who was silent ever since hiccup's huge outburst. and I couldn't blame her. she just got out of a tower, in which she lived in her whole life, and all this must've been overwhelming for her.

"Hey..." I looked down at her and brushed some hair out of her eyes. "what's wrong?"

She didn't look at me or respond right away. "I didn't enjoy watching hiccup like that."

"Nobody did."

"I didn't know people that nice could have that part of them inside. it's.... confusing."

I turned her over in my arms so she would face me. "yes, well that stuff happens. it's just them letting it go. if hiccup had held that in any longer he would be a wreck."

Rapunzel looked up at me. "and he doesn't look like a wreck now?"

We both look at hiccup as he rode his dragon. Merida was holding onto him with her head rested on his shoulder. he had a small frown on his face, along with dark circles under his eyes.

"Imagine something worse than that." I look back at rapunzel. "don't think too hard about it. I don't want to see you broken like this."

She smiled up at me. "thank you jack." she reached up and kissed me.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

<•hiccup's POV•>

I was tired. exhausted. and my eye lids were falling. Merida had fallen asleep awhile ago. and so did rapunzel. so just jack and I had to stay awake... to fly.

We were flying for hours now to get to merida's home. and how does jack stay up this long?

<•Jack's POV•>

I'm used to staying up this late. looking at rapunzel and merida, I remember how hard it was to change my sleeping habits when I first became jack frost.

I look over at toothless and noticed his eyes were closed.

Closed?

"No no no no no... Hiccup!"

The dragon slowly started to descend.

I quickly swung rapunzel on toothless's back and got to the front of the dragon.

"Hiccup! help me!" I scream.

Hiccup blinked and looked at me. "Wha-?"

"Let me make this clear, we are falling to our deaths."

His eyes widen and he looked at toothless. "wake up wake up wake up." he pulled a lever (don't ask me what it did because I saw nothing happen.).

Hiccup shook his head.

"Fine. hold on tight." I clutch my staff. "this is going to be a rough landing."

"What are you-?"

I could see water below us now instead of clouds. so I take a breath and aim at the ocean.

An icy blast hits the water and the ice started to rise... creating a slide.

We hit it with great impact and I could tell everyone was awake now, because of their screams.

We slide down the cold slide, and I had to keep it going because I couldn't let them fall into the water.

Finally, I spotted land. I made the slide slope down so we could land safely on the earth.

We landed with another thud and I heard groans coming from everyone.

"Is everyone ok?" I stand up and look at everyone on the ground.

"Where's toothless?" hiccup mumbled. he got on all fours and looked around. he quickly crawled to the dragon who looked like he was in a lot of pain.

"His wing is wounded. we might have to stay here awhile." hiccup looked at me and sighed.

Rapunzel and Merida stood up and groaned.

"We should find somewhere safe to rest. we'll go to merida's old home in the morning." I nodded at everyone.

"Oh... you could stay with me, I won't bother anyone." came a voice from behind us.

I quickly turned around to see someone who I thought I beat a long time ago. he stood in front of my makeshift slide, with a large smirk etched on his face. and he wore a long dark gown that stretched to his feet.

"Nice to see you again jack frost." he said.

I held my breath and looked at him with confusion... and fear. "pitch black..."
