Robert's POV:

Since Ross got me that telescope on our date I've been playing around with it so I could take him stargazing, like I promised him. It's been a week and I think I've got the hang of it so I'm gonna take him tonight to go stargazing on that big hill in town.

I pull out my phone to call Ross and ask him if he was available today to go. I scroll through my contacts until I find his name and call him. After about 5 seconds of ringing he picks up.

"Hello?" he answers.

"Hey man, got any plans today?" I ask him.

"No, my mom grounded me."

"What?!"

Of all days he had to be grounded, it had to be today?!

"Why, you wanted to go somewhere?" Ross asks.

"Yeah, I wanted to go to the big hill and... chill." I answer.

We both stay in silence for a bit until Ross says, "I'll sneak out around 12, sound good?"

"Yes!" I say with a big smile.

"Alright, I'll see you there! Love you."

"Love you too."

I hang up the phone and go into my closet to grab my telescope and camera. I put the telescope inside its case and lay it on top of my bed so it's ready for when I leave then put my camera inside my bag. Then I walk to the kitchen with my bag to pack up some snacks and drinks for me and Ross. On my way back to my room I go into the linen closet in the hallway to grab a blanket. I took a big beige blanket and stuff it into my bag as I walk back to my room. I look at the alarm clock on my nightstand to check the time.

"7:43 PM." I mumble to myself.

I still have a lot of time left before 12. Oh, I could finally decorate my room!

I go into my nightstand drawer and pull out a bunch of stickers, photos, and tape. Then I go back into my closet and take out some posters I bought a while ago but couldn't hang up because of my dad. After grabbing everything I needed I went to town in my room, taping my posters and photos on the wall and sticking stickers anywhere that looked empty. After I finished my room still looked kind of boring but it's better than what it looked like before. I still have a lot of time to spare so I'll just play Animal Crossing until then.

At 11:40 I decide I should start heading out so I have time to set everything up. I also have to sneak out because my mom would never let me leave the house at this time. I put my bag on and grab my telescope as I walk to my window. I quietly open it and go through, landing in my backyard. I close my window and start to make my way towards the hill.

After about 10 minutes I arrive at the top of the hill. I open my bag and start to set everything up, laying the blanket on the grass and putting the snacks and drinks in the middle of it. Then I take my telescope out of its case and start setting it up. As I was fixing the angle of it I heard very quiet footsteps reaching closer to me. That must be Ross, except with how quiet he's being I could tell he's probably trying to scare me. Of course I'm not going to let him though.

When I feel his presence reach closer I turn around and tackle him into a hug. Obviously I didn't think this through though and completely forgot that we're on top of a hill. When I tackled him he fell, which made me fall on top of him and we ended up rolling down the hill. We held onto each other tightly and yelled until the rolling stopped and we reached the bottom of the hill. We laid next to each other laughing while we catched our breath.

"Well... that was quite the greeting..." Ross pants.

"Hah, sorry, didn't think that through..." I say with a laugh, also panting.

After a few minutes of catching our breath I got up and reached one of my hands down to Ross to help him up. He took it and we both walked up the hill, chatting along the way.

"So why'd you wanna chill on the hill?" he asks.

Did he not see the telescope? Not complaining though, that's a good thing. But how did he not see it?

"I don't know, I just wanted to see you." I say as an excuse. Although it's not really an excuse because I do want to see him.

When we got near the top I cover Ross' eyes with my hands.

"Rob, wha-"

"Shh, you'll see soon." I say, cutting him off.

I guid him up the rest of the hill to the setup I made and get ready to uncover his eyes.

"Alright, are you ready?" I ask, smiling big.

"Mhm!" he says ecstatically with a nod.

"Okay, 3...2...1!"

I uncover his eyes and watch as he looks around at the setup. His eyes immediately lit up as he smiled.

"You remembered!"

"Of course I did! Now come and sit." I say as I sit down on the blanket and gesture for him to sit next to me.

He walks over to the blanket and sits down next to me.

"You went all out huh?" he asks as he picks up a drink.

"Yup! What do you think?" I answer.

"It's really nice, thanks Rob." he says with a smile.

I smile back at him then walk to the telescope to finish getting it ready.

"It's the perfect night for stargazing, I heard Mars might be visible!" I excitedly say.

"Oh, that's cool. Is it ready?" he asks.

I put my eye to the telescope and check to make sure everything is good, which it was. I put Ross in front of the telescope and tell him to look inside. He puts his eye to the telescope and looks around.

"Wow, this is really cool, the stars look so different!" he says in awe.

I chuckle at how happy he looks. "See if you can find Mars!" I say to him.

He looks around some more and I watch as he does.  The way he's looking around so intently makes me feel like I'm falling for him all over again.

"Oh! Rob, I think I found it!" he suddenly says while repeatedly tapping my shoulder.

He moves away from the telescope so I can look. I look around and then I also find it.

"Wow!" I gasp, admiring how cool the planet looked. "That is so freaking cool!"

I admire it some more then move away from the telescope. Ross smiles at me then lays down on the blanket. I lay down next to him and we both look up at the sky. 

"You were right, tonight is the perfect night for stargazing. There's so many stars out." Ross says.

"Yeah," I agree. "Look you could see the big dipper!" I point to the sky and Ross looks.

"Oh yeah!" he says.

We stare at the sky some more in silence, enjoying each other's company and admiring the stars. I felt Ross's hand graze mine lightly which made me blush. Eventually we grasped them together and giggled. This moment feels so surreal, I never want it to end.

"Hey Ross, can I say something cheesy?" I ask him.

"Go for it."

"I.."

I pause for a minute to think about what I would say.

"I just... I love you so freaking much and I love going on these little dates with you. I hope nothing ever changes between us."

I look over at him and notice his face is completely red. He sits up and looks down so I sit up as well and take both his hands in mine.

"Hah sorry, too cheesy?" I awkwardly ask.

He looks back at me and smiles. "No, just wasn't expecting it. I love you a lot too, and I would never let anything change between us. Ever."

I smile back at him and we both lean in for a kiss. It lasted a good 15 seconds before we broke apart and cuddle next to each other to continue looking at the stars.

Suddenly I notice a white flash appear in the sky and I gasp when I realize what it is. "Ross look look!" I say while pointing to the sky. "It's a shooting star, we have to make a wish!"

Ross laughs. "Okay, I'm gonna make mine."

He closes his eyes for about 5 seconds then opens them back up with a small smile.

"What'd you wish for?" I ask him.

"I'm not telling you. Now make yours!" he answers.

I pout at Ross for not telling me his wish but close my eyes to make my wish.

'I wish that we'll be together like this forever.'
