*I’m gonna apologize in advance because I haven’t played Animal Crossing in such a long time and I don’t have a switch (I did do some research but y’know) so sorry if I messed up somewhere!*

Robert’s POV:

Me and Ross had agreed to meet at the park, so I’m currently waiting for him to arrive. I'm sat on the swing set while looking around at my surroundings. I swung back and forth, getting higher and higher.

About 3 minutes later I see Ross walking down the block so I stop swinging and wait for him to enter the park. He's carrying a Nintendo switch with him though and he looks like he's really into it. Like really into it. When I see him walk by the entrance of the park I decide I should get up and greet him. I quickly run to him and turn his body around to me which makes him scream a little.

“Oh, it’s you. You scared the crap out of me dude!” he says while putting his switch into his bag.

“Sorry, but did you even realize you walked right by the park entrance?” I say as I point behind me to the park entrance.

He looks at it then back at me and all he says is, “Oh!”

I headbutt myself then we walk to the park. We sit on the swing set next to each other and Ross pulls out his switch again. 

“What game are you playing? You seem really into it.” I ask.

“Nah I’m not that into it. It’s called Animal Crossing,” he says as he leans in closer to me to show me the switch screen. He starts to explain the game. “So basically, you go to this little island and there are animals as villagers. When you move to the island you start upgrading it and doing tasks for the villagers. You can go fishing, bug-catching, shopping, planting, and socializing. And as you keep doing all that your bonds with the villagers get stronger and the island gets better and better as you help upgrade it! And that’s about it.” 

I continue to watch what Ross is doing on the game intently, it looks fun! Ross notices that I'm into it and hands me the switch.

“Try it!” he insists.

I look down at the screen and see a pig walking around. “Can I talk to the pig?” I ask.

“Yeah, just walk up to her and press 'a'." he answers.

I did as he said and my character and the pig whose name was Gala start conversating.

“Oh, she said she wants three apples!” I tell Ross.

“Alright, so find a tree with some apples on it first." he instructs.

I walk around the village until I find a tree with apples.

“Okay, now just walk up to it and…”

I walked to the tree and it gave me the option to shake it, so I did. Then 3 apples fall down and give me the option to put them in my inventory.

"Now put those in your inventory and talk with Gala again."

I put all the apples in my inventory and walk around until I find Gala again. We start chatting and I give her the apples. 

After the conversation between me and Gala ended I started experimenting around with the game. The game is actually really fun! And kind of addicting..

After 10 minutes of me messing around on the game and Ross silently watching, he suggests we actually go do something. I hesitated but Ross ends up snatching the switch out of my hands and quickly stuffing it in his bag.

"Ross give it back!" I whine.

"No, I didn't come out here to watch you play on MY switch! Now let's go do something." Ross snaps back. 

When he said that an idea popped in my head. I have to go buy that game!

"Okay, let's go to the store." I say to Ross as I get up from the swing set.

He glares at me. "For what Rob?" He asks knowingly.

"To…buy stuff?" I answer, not sure if I chose the right thing to say.

Ross rolls his eyes in response and also gets up from the swing set. "Let's go then. I'm curious to see what 'stuff' you're going to buy."

We laugh at each other and walk to the store.

- Magic Time Skip, next day at 6 PM -

Ross' POV:

I tried calling Robert one more time before I decided to go and check up on him at his house. I quickly put my shoes on and made my way towards his house.

I got there in 10 minutes and knocked on the door.

I was greeted by Robin. “Oh, you’re Rob’s boyfriend right?”

I nod my head yes and ask if I could go check on Robert.

“Oh please do, he hasn’t come out of his room all day! I’ll be in the living room if you need anything.” she says as she opens the door for me to come in. 

I walk inside and quickly make my way to Robert's room. I burst through the door and see him slouched on a chair staring at his TV.

He jumps out the chair and screeches from shock when he notices me. “Ross, what are you doing here?!” he yells.

Before I answer I look at the TV to see what he was looking at, and I wasn’t surprised to see Animal Crossing on the screen. But I was surprised to see how many bells he has, he already has more than me!

“I’ve been calling you all day and now I see why! You need to take a break!” I say sternly to him as I try to grab the controller out of his hand.

Robert quickly moves the controller away from my grasp and hugs it close to him.

“You're gonna give me that controller-” I say to him while trying to pull it away from him. He has a really tight grip on it though so I have to try something else. 

I start to squeeze his thigh to tickle him and he immediately bursts into laughter. “I need to go villager hunting Ross! Stop!” he says between laughs while trying to use his other leg to push me away.

I notice him loosen his grip on the controller and I quickly snatch it away.

“NO!” he cries.

He tries to grab it but I continue to keep tickling him which is making it hard for him. As I was about to close the game he yells for me to stop and listen, which I probably shouldn't do but I will.

I look at him and gesture for him to talk. "Just 20 more minutes.. I need to-!" I squeeze his thigh again to let him know he's pushing his limits. "EE-! Okay 10 minutes!"

I think about it and decide 10 minutes isn't too bad, so I give him back the controller. He squeals like a girl and quickly grabs it from my hands. He immediately goes back to playing the game and I sit on his bed.

"Did you bring your switch?" Robert suddenly asks.

"Yeah, why?" I ask back.

"Cause I want you to join me," he answers. "And I wanna show you something."

"I'm not really in the-"

"JOIN ME!" he says loudly.

"Okay fine!” I respond.

I pull out my switch from my bag and open Animal Crossing. When it finishes loading I go to Dodo Airlines and speak to Orville so he could send me to Robert’s island. After about a minute I arrive at Robert’s island and spawn next to him. 

“Follow me.” he says as soon as he notices I'm next to him.

We both walk around the island a bit until we arrive at the spot Robert wanted to show me.

“Ta da!” Robert happily says as I look around at the spot.

It was a cute little garden and with the flowers he spelt out my name. And right in the middle of the garden there was a white arbor.

“Aww, thank you Rob. This is really cute.” I say to him, blushing.

Robert smiles at me and also starts to blush a little. “I'm glad you like it.” he says back to me.

I lean over and gave him a little peck on his cheek which makes him chuckle then we both continue playing the game, going way past 10 minutes.
