You Like Dancing?

-

"Lisa!" Jisoo yelled as she ran after the Thai, who was currently taking fast, heavy steps away around the enormous mansion.

She didn't look back, even when she heard the brunette's voice repeatedly calling out for her from a distance, "Lali, hold on." Jisoo's hand grabbed her shoulder, forcing her to stop in her tracks, but she still didn't turn around.

She felt scared turning around.

And Lisa felt like she was frozen in her spot — numb, and can't move a single muscle. Her chest hurts way more than she'd anticipated beforehand, and she thought maybe she was stupid enough to even think that she could force herself and actually be happy for Jennie and Kai.

Hands balling into solid fists, Lisa shuts both of her eyes as Jisoo stood in front of her, both hands still on her trembling shoulders, holding her in place.

"I fucked up." She scoffed out with a pained sob, and Jisoo's heart broke for her. "I fucked up real bad, Chu." Lisa fluttered her eyes open, meeting the older girl's worried gaze. She couldn't prevent her tears from falling anymore as Jisoo pulled her in for a comforting hug. "I know I should be happy for them; for her. But, I can't. I try my hardest but I just fucking can't." She shuts her eyes once again, sobbing against the brunette's shoulder. Lisa didn't hug her back, but Jisoo kept her arms around the Thai, firm and secure. "I shouldn't have left her. A-and I shouldn't have caused her so much pain. I should've figured it out- I-I should've told her—"

Lisa wasn't able to come up with a straight sentence anymore, failing to restrain endless pained sobs from escaping her lips. She shuts her eyes tighter, shaking her head against Jisoo's shoulder as her arms weakly made their way up to hug the older girl back.

Jisoo gulped, nodding against the side of the Thai's head.

"It's okay," She mumbled, hands on Lisa's disheveled ash hair, rubbing comfortingly. "It's the way it is. Falling in love; It takes guts, and lots and lots of courage." She patted Lisa's back softly, taking a deep breath before finishing off in the softest, weakest voice. "You had all of it, Lali."

-

They stayed by the dock at the back of the mansion, sitting side by side, talking everything out. They even almost forgot that they have an afterparty to attend to if it wasn't for Kai calling both of their cells and asking where they were.

Jisoo had to come up with a decent lie, as the boy seemed to be still utterly clueless about his best friend's sudden disappearance at the wedding ceremony a few minutes ago.

But Lisa felt a whole lot better because of their little talk, anyway, so Jisoo thought it was all worth it.

"Kai's freaking out, since his cousin and best friend were both MIA. We should head back inside now." Lisa stated as she walked back towards her and Jisoo's spot by the dock after she got off a phone call with the brown haired boy. "Thanks for this again, Chu. I owe you big time."

Jisoo chuckled lightly, teasing, lopsided smirk now replacing the once thin line on her bow shaped lips.

"Don't be too dramatic, Limario. It doesn't suit you."

Lisa lets out a chuckle as well, letting the brunette pat her back gently as they both strolled towards the direction of the mansion's backdoor.

However, they were both stopped, forcefully, by the sight of a familiar raven-haired girl standing by the doorway. Nayeon's eyes were wide, staring into a confused Jisoo's whilst in the verge of tears.

"Jisoo," She mumbled with a cracking voice, fragile and way unlikely of who Im Nayeon should be in the first place.

Lisa glanced at them back and forth, and sensing a rather personal matter, she stepped up and decided to be the bigger man this time.

"I'll go ahead." Lisa cautiously lets out, sending Jisoo an encouraging smile, and Nayeon, a polite nod in acknowledgement, before she walks away completely.

Nayeon walked past Lisa and went straight for the brunette, who was only staring at her questioningly. However, she suddenly stopped in her tracks when the remaining distance between their bodies became rather short, as if hesitating. She held Jisoo's gaze with hers firmly, eyes glossy and filled with unshed tears.

She tried to restrain a sob, but failed, hands reaching up to cover her face with her palms as she cried her heart out helplessly.

Worry instantly rushed all over the brunette. "Hey," She walked towards Nayeon, one hand wrapping around the latter's wrist while the other pulled Nayeon's hand away from her face in order to meet her gaze. "Are you okay?" She asked softly.

Nayeon shook her head, hurriedly, chest heaving as she choked out another series of uncontrollable sobs.

"I told her."

She was talking about Momo, how she came clean, completely honest, about what happened that night; About how she thought and acted foolishly, and kissed Jisoo in an impulse, confessing about her remaining love for her; All while she was a thousand miles away, longing for nothing but her girlfriend's warmth and embrace.

Nayeon remembers Momo just staring at her blankly, breathing heavily, silently, before walking away completely with nothing at all to say. Not even to her, nor to Jennie and Kai to congratulate them, at least.

Nothing.

Nayeon didn't want her to leave, but she couldn't bear to move from her spot, watching as the Japanese left her shattered and helplessly sinking into the earth's deepest abyss.

She shook her head, guilt overpowering all of her senses, consuming her heart, keeping all other emotions out besides pain and misery.

She was wrong, Nayeon knew she was.

And it was clear to her deep down how it's only because of the urge to protect the brunette she's once loved and spent an entire 6 years of her life with from the chances of getting herself hurt that got the best of her, leaving her mind clouded and leading her to think and act doltishly.

"I told her I didn't mean to." Nayeon cried, and Jisoo was left with no choice but to pull her in her arms. "I really didn't mean to, Jisoo. I love her." She shuts both of her eyes, letting her words out weakly, breathlessly. The way her heart was breaking in pieces, it was all obvious by the tone of her voice alone. "She's left me."

Jisoo sighed, shutting both of her eyes as she leaned against the side of Nayeon's head, arms wrapped around her shoulders firmly, keeping her safe and secure in her hold.

"I'm sorry, Nadong." She mumbled softly against Nayeon's ears while she rubbed small, comforting circles on her arm.

It only earned another helpless sob from the younger girl, and Jisoo had to press a soft kiss on her forehead in a poor attempt to ease the pain.

Chaeyoung didn't know how to feel, searching everywhere for the Thai, utterly worried. She didn't even know where to look first, having no idea where on this enormous place could Lisa might possibly be.

But she knew that her Lisa was in pain, and that she can't just sit there and do nothing, waiting for the Thai to come back and pretend like everything was okay again.

And maybe it's her worry that brought Chaeyoung towards the direction of the mansion's back door, walking straight ahead with nothing but the pure intentions of finding the Thai and making sure she's okay.

However, she wasn't met with the sight she mostly hoped to see.

Instead, she was met with the one she dreads from the very beginning.

Chaeyoung watched as Jisoo pulled a crying Nayeon in for a tight embrace, holding her in her arms carefully, securely — just exactly like that of how she's suppsped to be holding the blonde.

She felt her heart sinking to her stomach completely, breath getting hitched inside her throat as she witnessed how the brunette leaned her head against the raven-heaired girl's and rubbed comforting circles against her arms.

Chaeyoung wanted to look away, but it's as if the universe was purposely making fun of her, laughing at her face, as she couldn't find the strength to do so, at all, leaving her with no other choice but to just continue watching — even as Jisoo pressed a soft, loving kiss on Nayeon's forehead.

It's like a million painful stabs straight into Chaeyoung's chest.

And she thought it couldn't get any worse, witnessing all of that before her very eyes, crushing every bit of her heart into pieces as her entire world helplessly fell apart at once.

Could it?

Chaeyoung didn't even realize when her tears started falling from her eyes.

-

The last formal dinner at the Hamptons went on in a hitch, giving it a few more minutes before the slow, graceful music turned more upbeat. Everyone was englufed in their own little worlds, dancing and mingling and sharing occassional laughter here and there, but not Chaeyoung.

The blonde only remained on her seat, quite downcasted. She wanted to numb the still lingering pain inside her chest, and she didn't think dancing alone would be able to get rid of it all.

She needed a drink — or two, or three.

And maybe even a certain someone, her Jisoo — once tonight, then twice the next day;

Or maybe even for an entire fucking lifetime.

But she knew she can't have that, no. Chaeyoung is smart, and she knew of that fact well enough to decide against letting her emotions get the best of her. So instead, she sat on her seat all by herself, facing the people at the dance floor, a glass of Bloody Mary the only thing to keep her company.

Well, not until a quite familiar voice rang against her ears from behind, and she felt the familiar throbbing inside her chest once again.

And the fireworks.

And butterflies.

And all that she'd usually feel whenever she's with Jisoo, near Jisoo, or even just left with the thought of Jisoo alone.

It scared Chaeyoung to death, especially after hearing the brunette's way too familiar words, "You like dancing?"
