Girlfriend

Taehyung turned around to face Chaeyoung the moment he got the bottle out of the wine stand, a cocky grin still plastered on his face.

"Macallan, 1926." He held the expensive bottle up to show the blonde. "Seventy-five grand just has to taste better than French 75, right?"

The statement successfully earned a laugh from Chaeyoung, nodding once in gratitude as the red-headed boy handed her a glass.

"It should." She smiled back. "Wouldn't everyone else be looking for you?"

"Wouldn't they look for you?"

Chaeyoung rolled her eyes. "Well, at least, I don't hold such important title as you, Mr. Kim. I'm just a humble guest."

Taehyung's lips curled up in an amused grin.

"Fair enough. Though, snapping at someone holding the Kim title you're talking about and calling them a trust fund baby wasn't exactly as humble, don't you think?"

Another chuckle escaped Chaeyoung's lips. She shook her head. "I have my days."

Her laughter died down, and they stared at each other for a second, Taehyung's gaze firmly holding the blonde's. Chaeyoung felt her heart race, but not in a good way.

(Not in a Jisoo way, if that makes any sense.)

And then, Taehyung was stepping closer to her, slowly, his eyes now travelling further down towards Chaeyoung's lips, as he subtly wet his own with his tongue. Chaeyoung had to clear her throat, taking a step back when the boy got too painfully close.

She didn't even understand why it made her so uncomfortable. I mean, Taehyung - someone that hot - is definitely someone she'd usually take interest in, as well.

But, right now, it rather feels like she's doing something unfair to someone.

A certain someone, and Chaeyoung had to gulp.

"I'm sorry," She breathed out. Taehyung stopped in his tracks. "I'm not really- I can't-"

"My bad." Taehyung cuts her off, hands raising in the air. His smirk never left his lips, which honestly bothered Chaeyoung a little. "I didn't realize there was a boyfriend."

"Girlfriend." Her own statement had Chaeyoung widening her eyes. Where the hell did that come from?! She felt her throat going dry. "Well, not exactly, I mean- It isn't really-"

"Hey, gorgeous, chill." Taehyung smirked, still not stepping away, but not moving any more closer, either.

(Chaeyoung thought it was better than nothing.)

She sighed deeply, feeling her breath getting caught inside her throat. She needs to breathe. I need to breathe.

She had to give it a few more seconds before looking back up at the boy. "Should we get some air?"

-

Jisoo left Nayeon's room when the latter decided to call it a night. She decided against returning to the party, anymore, and Jisoo understood.

(Their conversation really was rather tiring.)

The brunette debated whether to go get some air first or to just head back immediately to the hall where the big dinner was held. There's no point in looking for Chaeyoung, anymore, anyway, because she should already be back at the party by now.

Right?

Wrong.

Because the moment Jisoo stepped out of Nayeon's bedroom and headed straight for the balcony of the same floor right across from it, with nothing but the intentions of clearing her clouded mind,

Jisoo didn't expect to see more than just the night view of their estate's majestic garden.

There she was, Chaeyoung, sitting by the enormous garden fountain, facing her direction. But her gaze didn't meet Jisoo's, no. It was rather focused on someone else, on her company - a red-headed boy that, unfortunately, Jisoo knows all too well.

And her assumptions were just confirmed when she saw Taehyung's hand finding its way towards the blonde's thigh, subtly grazing, and Jisoo felt her hands gripping the balcony's railings a little bit tighter than she should.

-

"I always thought the nights are the most special in this place." Taehyung said as he walked side by side with Chaeyoung down the pathwalk, towards the garden fountain located in the middle. "The lights, the evening breeze," He took a few steps ahead of the blonde when they reached the porch, offering his hand when Chaeyoung attempted to do the same. "The view... Please," He chuckled.

"You're right. This place is straight out of a movie." Chaeyoung smiled gratefully, taking the boy's hand as she went down the steps, as well. "You really didn't have to. I wasn't planning on tripping on my heels, anyway."

Taehyung smirked. "What kind of a gentleman would I be?"

They sat by the enormous fountain, facing the mansion. Chaeyoung sighed. "I remember just dreaming about this, stepping foot on a magnificent estate, attending a fancy dinner in fancy clothes, taking a sip of the 1926." She laughed, glancing at the boy next to her.

Taehyung was just staring at her, brown eyes piercing right through the blonde's. However, Chaeyoung couldn't read the emotions swimming in them.

"Have I already mentioned..." He mumbled, voice deep and laced with a secretive tone, dangerous; Chaeyoung froze when she suddenly felt a hand gently running up her thigh. "...how beautiful the view is?"

Chaeyoung felt her throat going dry, her breathing uneven. Looking away, she mumbled firmly, "Stop."

Taehyung didn't stop.

His hand still has a grip on Chaeyoung's thigh, while his face moved closer and closer towards the blonde's. Chaeyoung swatted his hand away, standing up abruptly. "Did you not fucking hear what I just said-"

She didn't get to finish her sentence, however, because everything happened in a flash. Taehyung was forcefully pulled up from his seat, all of a sudden, by a raging Jisoo, who was gripping tightly on the collar of his shirt, his back pushed up against one of the garden lamp posts next to them.

Chaeyoung felt all the blood drain from her system. "Jisoo-"

"What the fuck do you think you're doing?!" Jisoo screamed, wrathful. Taehyung's eyes doubled in size at the realization of who currently has a death grip on his shirt.

"Woah, cousin, easy-"

"Back the fuck off!" Jisoo pushed him with force, making Taehyung stumble a few steps back.

Chaeyoung went straight for the fuming brunette, standing in front of her, between her and the red-headed boy. "Jisoo."

Taehyung chuckled wickedly behind her, letting out a scoff. "I wasn't even trying to do anything."

Chaeyoung watched Jisoo clench her jaw as she stared at her smirking cousin dauntlessly. "Oh, yeah? Then, why can't you keep your filthy hands to yourself, you sick son of a bitch?!" Jisoo snapped, gritting her teeth in utter rage.

She attempted to step forward, and she will, if it wasn't for the blonde standing in front of her, gripping her arms tightly.

"Jisoo, stop." Chaeyoung tried, but the raging brunette didn't even spare her a glance. Her gaze was focused on a smirking Taehyung, exactly like that of Nayeon's look earlier across from Chaeyoung at the dinner table; a rabid wolf, furious and hungry, ready to attack and rip the boy into pieces anytime.

On the other hand, Taehyung chuckled.

"Why does it matter, anyway?" He questioned, expression suddenly changing as a wave of realization took over him. His smirk turned amused, a finger pointing towards the two. "Is there something going on here?" Chaeyoung felt her heart drop, especially when she and Taehyung finally met gazes once again. It didn't help that Taehyung's amused gaze was now focused on her, and only her. "Is cousin Jisoo the girlfriend that you're talking about?"

Chaeyoung didn't have the answer to that.

She only wishes that she did.
