It's Good, No?

-

Another week went by in a hitch, and now there's only five days left before Jennie and Kai's wedding.

Rosie's week was rather.... eventful. I mean, it always has been since she's a busy woman, after all.

Yet twelve days ago, she met Kim Jisoo at some expensive night club in Uptown Manhattan, had a short talk with her, went home with her (literally and figuratively), then went home with her again, and again, and again,

And it just blew all sorts of emotions right out of her fucking system.

It felt like everything is going on nonstop around her, and to tell you it was too tiring for words is rather even a fucking understatement.

What even is the reason for her little outbursts of unexplainable emotions whenever she's (physically) with Kim Jisoo?

Rosie didn't know either.

In fact, she's been having the hardest of times trying to understand a lot of things lately. She won't be spelling everything out one by one anymore, since she knows the list would just go on and on forever.

But one thing is for sure, a certain brunette is the very reason for it all.

Just like right now, at this exact moment.

It's a Monday. Rosie wasn't in the mood to stress herself out at work, so she called in sick. (Sometimes it's just really necessary to take random day offs with no apparent reason.) However, it has never really been in her nature to laze around, even during her days off work, so she planned to spend the rest of her free time as productively as she can.

Taking a walk in the park is an idea, for starters.

Rosie approached an empty bench and sat on it. It was rather chilly, and the breeze brushing against her skin was cold. Her attention stayed focused on the ducks by the pond not to far away from her.

However, her eyes immediately widened when a small, white, fluffy Maltese suddenly came running around the edge of the pond, barking chaotically at the small paddling of ducks swimming on it.

Rosie gaped, and she haven't even registered what was actually going on when a way too familiar figure of a brunette came chasing after the dog, a long leash in her hand, trying to catch the running Maltese around the small pond.

Jisoo was able to catch the dog, locking its collar with the leash once again as she mumbled a few incoherent scolding to the panting Maltese. However, when she finished, the dog suddenly attempted to chase her this time, causing the brunette to run away, laughing her heart out as the little Maltese ran after her.

Both Rosie and the flock of ducks just stayed silent in their spots, watching the duo run around the park chasing after the other as if not even bothered by who can see them at all.

(I mean, Kim Jisoo, a completely grown 29-year-old adult and COO of the biggest oil company in Manhattan, New York, is playing tag with a dog in the public park?)

Rosie didn't even realize when her lips tugged to her eyes in a huge, adoring smile and when her heart started to beat erratically inside her chest.

Do you now see Rosie's point in this whole Jisoo situation?

She wasn't even involved with what the brunette was doing right now, yet still, there's that weird burst of emotions inside of her, and honestly, Rosie didn't know if she liked it or not.

Or if she's supposed to like it or not.

The blonde was suddenly taken out of her thoughts when she heard the familiar sound of barking now coming from beside her, seemingly trying to catch her attention.

She immediately looked down by her left foot and saw Jisoo's Maltese staring at her, parted mouth forming a wide smile and tongue stuck out as it continued to pant eagerly in its spot.

Rosie smiled back at the small dog, reaching her hand out to pat its head as she mumbled silently.

"Hello, there. Are you lost?" She chuckled lightly when the dog barked once again, playfully spinning around before sitting down.

Rosie lifted her gaze when she heard footsteps approaching their spot, and there, she saw Jisoo walking towards her direction with the biggest smile on her face. Her clothes were disheveled, chocolate locks all over the place, and she was still panting heavily from all the running she just did. Rosie laughed before looking back at the dog and patting its head.

"I guess not anymore, no?"

"Thank god he finally found someone else to annoy." Jisoo chuckled, shaking her head before scooping the dog in her arms and turning to face the smiling blonde. "Hello, Ms. Park."

Rosie laughed again, rolling her eyes.

"You don't have to be so formal now. I already saw you running around chasing the dog like a five-year-old kid a few minutes ago."

"Alright, you caught me." Jisoo chuckled. "You didn't happen to take a photo of me in that very unprofessional state, did you?"

Biting her lip to prevent her smile from tearing her face in half, Rosie shrugged.

"I might've or might've not." Jisoo narrowed her eyes playfully at the blonde, causing the latter to finally crack out another chuckle. "No, don't worry." Rosie said, gesturing for the brunette to sit down beside her. "It'll be our little secret."

"Ahh, so we have two little secrets now?" Jisoo teased, causing the younger girl to blush furiously and hit her on the arm.

"Shut up."

The brunette laughed, placing the dog back down when it tried to wiggle itself out of her grip. The moment it reached the ground, it immediately propped itself up by the bench Rosie was sitting on, reaching over to poke Rosie's clothed lap with its paw repeatedly.

Jisoo's grin widened as she lightly nudged the blonde by the arm. "I think Dalgom wants you to carry him."

Rosie smiled, slightly bending down to be able to scoop the dog in her arms and let it sit on her lap.

"Hi, Dalgom. You're very cute, aren't you? Unlike your human over here." Rosie teased, giggling at the way Jisoo's face immediately fell because of her statement.

"That's just disrespectful. I'm older than you." Jisoo retorted faux-offendedly, and Rosie just rolled her eyes. "What are you even doing here? Shouldn't you be at work?"

"I called in sick." Rosie shrugged as she continued to rub small circles on Dalgom's head.

Jisoo narrowed her eyes, reaching her hand out in order to feel Rosie's neck and forehead. The contact immediately sent the younger girl blushing.

Pulling her hand away, Jisoo stated. "You're not sick."

"You think?" Rosie retorted sarcastically, rolling her eyes yet failing to stop herself from smiling nontheless.

Jisoo rolled her eyes as well. "But you are blushing. You have a crush on me, don't you?"

"Oh, god." Rosie groaned, making the older girl laugh. "You seem to be functioning a little extra childish today. What is up with you?"

"Sorry." Jisoo mumbled as her laughter slowly died down.

They sat in silence for a few seconds, staring straight ahead towards the paddling of ducks by the pond, with Dalgom completely falling asleep on Rosie's lap. The air was relaxing, and the silence was rather pleasant. No uncomfortable tension exsisted in between the two women's adjacent bodies.

Rosie sighed contentedly, feeling all of her worries vanish at the comforting atmosphere that's currently surrounding them.

"I could just live like this forever." She mumbled, shutting her eyes close and missing the way Jisoo turned to glance at her with a smile.

"You sound like an 80-year-old woman who likes feeding pigeons and stuff." Jisoo teased, making Rosie frown as she elbowed the older girl's stomach.

"I just meant I'd rather be choosing this over work anytime." Rosie shrugged. "Even after a decade, I still would for sure."

"With your future Brazilian husband and your gorgeous snowboarder son?"

Rosie giggled as she hummed approvingly. "And his future puppy, Hank."

Jisoo laughed, shaking her head. This girl is something else. "You don't do relationships yet you've already came up with a name for your future son's dog?"

"Hey, do you want me to ask my Brazilian husband to beat you up?" Rosie retorted as she turned to look at the laughing brunette. "Mind your own business."

"Relax, woman." Jisoo said, causing the blonde to glare at her. She smiled before looking back ahead, which Rosie later on did too. "But yeah, you're right. This is actually pretty nice." The older mumbled back in a quieter tone. "You know, we used to dream those kinda of things for ourselves together too, she and I."

The statement immediately caught Rosie's attention, so she turned slightly to face the brunette next to her with a questioning look.

Jisoo looked at her with a smile. "Nayeon. That was her name."

"Oh my god. Is she dead?" Rosie asked rather worriedly, surprising the brunette and causing her to chuckle.

"What? No." Jisoo shook her head, still laughing. "It just didn't work out, so she's in the past."

Rosie sighed in relief. Thank god. She wouldn't know what to say to Jisoo if the girl happened to be passed. She's not good with those kind of situations.

Nodding once, the blonde asked. "Okay, then, what happened?"

Jisoo shrugged as she turned to face ahead once again.

"To be honest, I'm not even sure either." She forced a chuckle to herself. "I met her in college, we were both nineteen, and it just happened. We happened. Then we went along with it, just letting the wind take us wherever. I don't know, I guess we were just too young, and neither of us didn't exactly know what we're doing. But we stayed together. For six years. Long enough that we became each other's rocks, each other's constant, and I just grew accustomed to it to the point that it felt like I wouldn't be anyone without her." She sighed, shaking her head lightly. "To tell you frankly, it was amazing with her. Nayeon was too amazing, it wouldn't be possible not to fall in love."

Turning to face the blonde beside her, Jisoo sent her a light smile.

"Full disclosure." She mumbled, and Rosie just stared at her completely focused. "I was supposed to propose to her on our seventh year together, right at the very moment she decided to call it off. It was stupid." She said, chuckling bitterly.

Rosie's eyes widened, and Jisoo's smile turned rather sad.

It was three years ago, but she could still remember her ex's very words, the very look on her face, and the very sight of her retreating figure walking out of Jisoo's life, leaving her without a say.

"I guess it wasn't just really meant to work out; Not here," Jisoo swallowed a lump in her throat, sighing deeply as she looked down. "Not anytime soon."

Rosie felt her heart drop.

Her hand unconsciously reached over to softly hold Jisoo's on her lap, and the gesture caused the latter to look up, meeting gazes with the smiling blonde.

Rosie didn't say she's sorry. (Jisoo was glad she didn't. She hates it when people feel sorry for her despite all the reasons they should be.) Instead, she mumbled in the smallest voice.

"It's good, no?" Rosie smiled, one hand holding Jisoo's firmly while the other still rubbing small circles on a sleeping Dalgom's back. "It all turned out fine." She said with a rather light and comforting grin. "And you're still Kim Jisoo without her. You'll always be."

The statement caused Jisoo's smile to widen, the still slightly fresh wound from the memory closing up almost in an instant as she stared at Rosie's eyes and drowned deep in Rosie's comforting words.

Am I breaking the rule?

Rosie wouldn't admit that there's a sudden urge inside of her to just lean in and capture Jisoo's lips in hers, hoping it'll make the older girl forget;

Because she suddenly have this odd feeling inside of her to be the reason Jisoo forgets.

She knows she shouldn't, and she knows she wouldn't be anyway.

Jisoo will never fall in love with her. Rosie's the one who made sure of it from the very beginning.

(She also wouldn't admit that there's a slight pang in her chest at the thought now running inside her head.)

Clearing her throat, Rosie decided to break the staring, which snapped Jisoo out of her daze as well.

"You know, this is nice; You and I talking about stuff. Very unusual for us to do whenever we're physically around each other." Rosie said, tone lighter as she subtly turned the topic around. "It finally feels like we are friends."

Jisoo laughed, shaking her head as she forced to ignore the rapid, uncontrollable beating inside her chest.

"Yeah." She mumbled back with a smile, tone rather playful and teasing this time. "It's nice hanging out with you clothed once in a while."

Rosie blushed, pushing a laughing Jisoo off the bench, and completely startling a once peacefully sleeping Dalgom awake.
