Either Is Beautiful

"Finally, the devil has arrived."

A tall woman in a formal black and white suit came strolling towards Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosie's direction, with an amused chuckle escaping her lips.

Kang Seulgi reached for a laughing Jisoo first, hugging her as the brunette teased. "You don't say? Lali here has been nothing but the devil since high school."

"Oh, please. I was referring to you, Kim Jisoo." Seulgi laughed, alongside the Thai, who was now reaching to hug her old friend as well. "Manoban, long time no see."

"Here I thought you already forgot who I was." Lisa chuckled, patting Seulgi's back before pulling away and reaching for Rosie's waist. "This is Rosie. We were roommates back in college. Rosie, Seulgi, an old friend from high school."

Rosie smiled before politely reaching her hand out. "A pleasure to meet you, Seulgi."

The older girl, however, just laughed before ignoring the blonde's offered hand and pulling her in for a hug, instead.

"You too, Rosie. Oh, and in case you haven't noticed, I don't do handshakes." Seulgi chuckled, causing the blonde to blush before laughing with her as well.

Jisoo chuckled, watching as the two casually pulled away from the hug.

"Kang Seulgi, always the charmer." She teased, clicking her tongue before turning to a slightly flushed Rosie. "That's a classic Seulgi way of picking up girls. Don't fall for it."

The statement caused all three women to laugh, Rosie feeling slightly giddy at the way Jisoo watched her with a huge smile on her face, looking extra proud that she managed to make the younger girl laugh.

She had to pretend she didn't see that, or the blushing on her face will just surely intensify.

"Come on, Chu. You're making me sound so bad. I'm better now!" Seulgi defended in between light chuckles.

"That's only because Irene's got you wrapped around her finger." Jisoo said, earning her another series of laughter from both Seulgi and Lisa. Turning to a smiling Rosie, the brunette added. "The woman would murder if she gets possessive, I swear."

"Excuse me, Kim Jisoo, what did you just call me? And in my own property?"

The familiar voice came ringing against the four women's ears, and Jisoo's eyes immediately went wide at the mention of her name.

"Man, I think this is your cue to run." Lisa whispered in Jisoo's ear, earning herself a glare from the brunette.

They turned around, only to be met by a gorgeous woman in an elegant silver evening dress walking towards their direction. She hugged Lisa before approaching Seulgi and kissing her lips. After that, she turned to raise an eyebrow at the brunette, who's now chuckling nervously in her spot.

Chocolate eyes dilating to her sides, Jisoo sent Irene a tight-lipped smile.

"Do I not get a hug?" She asked, earning a snort from both Lisa and Seulgi.

Irene just rolled her eyes. "You're lucky there are too much people in here, Kim Jisoo." She spat faux-venomously, causing the latter to chuckle as she approached the oldest of the five, herself.

"Or maybe, I'm just lucky you love me too much." She teased while engulfing Irene in a hug, which the latter finally cracked a smile at.

Pulling away, Jisoo gestured towards the blonde next to Lisa.

"Rosie, this is Irene, Seulgi's monster wife." She said, earning a glare from Irene and a laugh from the other three. "Monster wife, please meet Roseanne Park, a friend of Lisa," Jisoo glanced at Rosie with a subtle grin, eyes slightly crinkling as she softly added, "and mine."

The introduction might've just sounded so natural to the rest, but it rather made the blonde pause for a second.

And mine.

Oh, listen. Is that the sound of Rosie's heart racing inside her chest?

Yes, it is.

"It's nice to meet you, Rosie." Irene's voice, fortunately, pulled her out of her thoughts.

Shrugging the building knot inside her stomach, Rosie accepted Irene's offered hand with a smile.

"Always a pleasure, Irene. You are absolutely stunning."

"Oh, I'm flattered." Irene laughed as they pulled away from the handshake. "I know neither is worthy enough to catch such a lovely woman's attention, but, I'm rather curious who among these two idiots is your date for tonight."

The statement immediately caused Rosie to blush, while both Lisa and Jisoo just chuckled lightly.

"Now, now. You're putting too much pressure on her, babe." Seulgi laughed, glancing at the three before leaning in slightly to mock-whisper against her wife's ear. "I bet it's Chu."

"Hey," Jisoo scolded as she laughed along with the couple. "Stop harassing her. And hold up, Seul. Don't you think Lisa's more in need of a date right now? Especially when little Jendeuk's currently in my cousin's possession over there-"

However, Jisoo was cut off when Lisa smacked her on the head. "Alright, did you just have to go there?"

The five of them laughed, Jisoo the loudest, as she tried to dodge Lisa's other incoming hits.

"So you actually came here without a date, Chu?" Seulgi grilled further teasingly.

"Come on, we all know Chu never comes to a party with a date," Lisa joined in, laughing obnoxiously. "She just leaves at the end of the night with one..... or two."

The statement caused Jisoo to laugh before smacking the Thai's head in return as well, missing the way Rosie narrowed her eyes slightly at her direction.

Eventually, the night went on. And Jisoo, not being much of a fan of formal business parties, sat silently on a stool by herself, with a tall glass of champange sitting in front of her on the round table, as Lisa excused herself for an important phone call while Rosie was in the bathroom to reapply her make-up.

Well, at least Rosie was.

"You seem deep in those thoughts." Jisoo turned around to face the direction where the Aussie-accented voice came from, and Rosie just sent her a smile. "I didn't even realize you were actually capable of thinking. I thought you're only good with that mouth of yours."

The statement caused Jisoo to widen her eyes a bit, the same time Rosie realizes how that just sounded.

She hated how she blushed furiously at her own statement.

Jisoo chuckled, deciding to give the blonde a break from the ruthless teasing. "Yeah. I actually surprise myself sometimes, too." She joked, causing the younger girl to laugh as well.

Biting her lip, Rosie smiled at the brunette genuinely. "I see, we're friends now, huh?" She teased, in reference to Jisoo's earlier words.

"I mean, is that so bad?" Jisoo shrugged, an amused smile still plastered firmly on her face. "Cause if I get rejected right now, I'm gonna have to isolate myself for a few weeks just to mourn for such a great, great loss."

Rosie scoffed at the statement, rolling her eyes. "The level of your sarcasm is beyond measures I couldn't even imagine."

"I'm taking that as a compliment." Jisoo bowed politely at the blonde, which earned her another series of hearty giggles.

Silence suddenly stood between the two, yet neither was uncomfortable about it. In fact, it was rather cozy and peaceful, Rosie feared that Jisoo might catch the loud pounding inside her chest if she doesn't break it soon.

So she had to think of a new topic to open. "Chaeyoung."

What? Rosie didn't know where the hell that just came from.

She watched the way Jisoo turned to look at her again, a confused, lopsided smile on her charming face.

"I'm sorry?"

Biting ber lip, Rosie tried to avert her gaze.

"Chaeyoung. That's my Korean name." She shrugged before looking back up at Jisoo bashfully, "You asked for it at the elevator three nights ago, and I just remembered I haven't got the chance to tell you because I was drunk and we-"

Rosie suddenly realized what's about to come out of her mouth, and she had to stop herself as she felt her cheeks blush furiously once again.

On the other hand, Jisoo let out an amused chuckle as she attempted to continue the sentence for her. "-Fucked?"

The statement just made Rosie blush even more, much to the laughing brunette's amusement.

"You, really." Rosie rolled her eyes, yet she couldn't prevent a smile from forming on her face, either. "Anyway, I've mentioned that most people know Roseanne, since I've grown accustomed to thinking that it's the prettier one," She chuckled bashfully, making Jisoo smile. "But you can call me whichever of the two you prefer."

She smiled sweetly at the brunette, ignoring the weird feeling on her insides when Jisoo's grin turned just as equally.

"I don't think I'm gonna be calling you by your Korean name just yet." She mumbled back. "But I do think that either is beautiful."

Those words escaped Jisoo's mouth almost inaudibly, and tone too genuine it instantly scared Rosie.

She just didn't say it out loud.
