Philip POV

Pa walked further into my room and clearer his throat. Not in an angry, threatening way. I think it was more to say 'get off of her and talk to me.'

"Philip, get off of her and talk to me."

I guess so.

"So who's this?" He seemed genuinely curious. He didn't see upset. Pheww.

"My girlf..?" I trailed off, looking back at Theo. She nodded shyly and blushed. Aww.

"You seem familiar," he noticed.

"Oh. I knew Philio in fourth grade. We were best friends, then I moved. I moved back to New York two years ago, freshman year. I'm Theodosia Burr."

"Burr."

"What?"

"Burr," he repeated.

"Yeah..?"

His expression turned uncomfortable. He looked upset now. He also looked distant, like he was somewhere, but his body wasn't. Flashing back maybe?

Alex POV

I knocked Washington out with a quick punch to the face. Then I got him one last time to ensure he wasn't coming back for me.

Hercules and I were out of breath. Jefferson barely did anything. Burr was practically dying.

Burr wasn't in that state for long. He grabbed hold of a gun and aimed. Jefferson held his up as well. I reciprocated their aim. Even John stood up and tried to aim.

...BOOM.

This is Burr's daughter.

Burr. Burr shot first. July 11 in Weehawken, New Jersey.

And his daughter is now dating my son. nOo.

Philip POV

"Pa, you okay?"

"Yes. Actually, no. I'm not okay." He left the room.

Well that was weird. "Welp."

"Is he okay? He seemed like uncomfortable when he heard my name," Theo said.

"I'm sure he just thought of something that sounded like it. He spaces off a lot."

"Okay."

Then Dad came in. "Hey Pip. Theo."

"Hi," Theo and I said together. We giggled at each other for a second, then looked back at my dad.

"What happened to Pa?"

"I don't know. He met Theo and got all weird and repeated her last name."

"That's why he's saying Burr?"

"Umm..? Yeah? I guess."

"Shit. Okay." He left too. What??

"Philip, I can go if they need to discuss something or whatever," Theo said, taking her head off my shoulder. Noo put it back.

"No, you're fine.. I think."

Then we heard Pa yell, "BURR, JOHN. I CAN'T."

"I'm gonna go."

I sighed and helped her up. She left silently and I sat in my room. I decided to do homework.

What does Juliet mean by "What's in a name? That which we call a rose, by any other name would smell as sweet," (II.ii.48)?

I was reading R&J in school and I really liked that line. It was the inspiration for this sequel, hence the name "Roses."

Also, I'm really sorry I haven't published in like,,,,, years??
