003 Babies

I was playing with Fleebus while Alex was typing something about politics. Probably tweeting about Trump again.

Animals are so amazing. Especially babies. I know Fleebus isn't a baby turtle, but he's pretty young. And adorable!

"You know, Lexi, baby animals are so cute. Maybe not insects, but I mean baby turtles, baby cats and dogs, birds, pandas, and more. And when furry ones have that little tiny bit of fur growing and they have super big eyes, oh my turtles!"

Alex chuckled without looking up from his screen. He quietly listened to me ramble for another minute or so before I said, "And baby humans. Babies are so cute. Obviously, not like Fleebus, but they're up in my top ten favorite baby animals."

"Babies, huh? If we had a kid and they were about to fall off of a cliff or something and they had Fleebus with them, who would you save? If you could only save one." He smirked.

"Shit no stop."

His smirk intensified. Oh my ovaries exploded.

"Well I just loved babysitting with my sister when we were like fifteen. Adorabubbleeee!" I giggled.

"Aw fifteen year old John sounds 'adorabubbleeee.'"

"And he was." I winked. "Do you like babies?"

"Yeah. I mean I didn't babysit them or have any younger siblings, but I never thought they were repulsive or anything."

"Umm okay. Well anyway.."

"Hm?"

"I don't know."

We talked about that for a little longer before we got to adoption stuff. Alex thought I was implying that I wanted a kiddo.

"Well is that where you were trying to go with this?"

"I don't think so..? But I would love a kiddo, you know. Like babysitting, but forever!"

"Hm. That sounds like a lot of work."

"Duh."

One year later, we adopted a four year old boy named Philip Lin-Manuel Hamilton.

(ok for the story to make some sense I need Pip to be like four so yeah / also idk how tf adoption stuff works so I'll just skip all the paperwork and waiting and meetings and whatever else?)

We invited our friends to come meet him after a little while of getting to know OUR KID! Everyone loved him instantly. Philip is energetic, funny, loving, and adorable af! He's got freckles like me, which Alex keeps comparing.

"I swear, you two look pretty similar. It's crazy," he said laughing.

Peggy and Lafayette were pretty obsessed with him. Angelica and Maria played hide and seek with him. Eliza played with the keyboard piano thing while he danced around and tried to play with her.

All around it was a good week.
