Chapter 2
The classroom's destruction wasn't anyone's fault. At least that's what the faculty declared. Everyone would still sneak flustered glances or glares at the pink haired cat now and then, but even Gusion had the saintlike restraint to not impale her for the destruction of their classroom.
"Where are we going to classes now?" Karina sulked. "Not in the Clearing! Not there!"
The Clearing was the outerior of the school, where their 5v5 battles commence. Despite the start of school, the situation there was chaotic due to the cleaning and sanitizing. They heard it was from the mess that the last batch caused and some of them are named Ruby, Alice, Alucard and Estes. It was some personal war and it ended with a lot of residue blood from their lifesteal.
It was the perfect place for an endurement meditation, but not a place for learning lessons on how to destroy your enemy. The minions are still struggling on repairing the turrets and polishing them.
"You will not stay in the Clearing," Layla, the ex-Mythic Hero/counselor of Marksman class assured them.
"Yes!" Fanny dangled like Spider-Man from the hall's ceiling.
"You will stay in my class for the meantime," Layla continued.
One second.
Two seconds.
Ten seconds.
Then a huge: "WHAAAAAAAAT?!"
"Learn with Marksmen?" Natalia demanded.
"Sit next to them?" Karina stewed.
"Aw hell NO!" Gusion shouted.
"QUIET!" Alucard shouted. "It is for the best. If you don't like what we suggested, the Clearing's comfortable!"
Everyone shut up.
Fanny nudged Lesley. "At least you'll be fitting in easily."
Lesley gagged. "I won't. They're all speed and happy and sunshine. I'm not."
Fanny jumped down from her cables. "Good point there. Wonder if I could use my cables to snatch a Marksmen's arrow or bullet."
Still, every assassin didn't fully approve of the situation. Assassins were known either as: Sadists (Gusion, ahem), Deadly, don't take any bullshit when intended, and a little hint of Heavy Sarcasm. They all doubted that the Marksmen class would apprieciate their usual antics and pranks but they didn't give a fuck about them.
Natalia gagged on the way to the cafeteria. "I can't believe they thought of that! Now that I think of it, the Clearing might be a better choice. Since it's where we're going to battle, we could use the common ground as our advantage."
"Reminder that we might not be on the same team," Lesley said. "Unless we go a full-assassin team. It could work, but it's practically useless in the occasional team fight."
"We could do that. There's no rules of creating teams," Karina agreed. "Let's just get me, Lesley, Natalia, Fanny and, um, one of the guys to make one. We need five for a team."
"Unless you want to 1 v 5 in Custom Mode," Fanny snapped.
"If there are no stuns no knock-ups no traps and nothing to do with Crowd Control and I get farmed up I can," Natalia supplied. "Life's hard for a Marksman-Assassin, huh?"
Lesley grinned. "Yeah."
* * *
Forget about the Marksman-Assassin schism thing. Lesley's sure she might ressemble a heap of spaghetti if looks could really kill. Every Marksmen that caught sight of her and her gun all waved at her, friendly at first glance. Then they see she's also an Assassin, they would be stunned and glare at her like they would at every assassin they see.
Their welcome at their classroom was warming enough. The marksmen classroom's capacity was larger than any of the classroom's - including the Tank's despite their size - due to their fighting roles. A marksmen needed to shoot.
"Screw the Mage class," Gusion spat as he waved his hand. A dagger instantly impaled itself into the table of a glowering marksman who was holding a dark purple spear at him. Judging by his appearance, he would appear as an Assassin, but no. He's a fricking marksman.
"How dare you! Now you will suffer for your crimes!" the demon marksman hissed at the brunette.
Gusion snorted and rolled his eyes. "If you can even keep up." He teleported to the back of the room, which was the Marksmen's miniature shooting area, and now the acting classroom of the Assassins.
Lesley kept her cool as each of her friends used their skills to get to their space. Invisibility from Natalia; cables from Fanny, semi-transparent-immunity from Karina and the rest? Not so much. Lesley sighed and went into camoflauge mode and joined her friends, her sniper strapped to her waist.
She could hear the marksmen's whispers: "Why is she with the Assassins if she's a Marksmen?" / "Can a Marksmen be an Assassin?" / "Why does she have a gun if she's an Assassin?"
Natalia locked eyes with her and nodded, knowing the situation. She went invisible once more and planted a smoke bomb under their tables and it exploded into a pink cloud of indoor smoke.
"It smells like putrified flesh." Karina held her nose. "Does it always smell like this?"
Natalia shrugged. "Not nessecarily. It cleans up my tracks after assassination and does a great deal in pranks. Also, it makes Marksmen unable to target me or my teammates."
"Oh! Loan me a few!" Gusion leaned over. "One that smells like roses and a few that smells like perfume."
Everyone stared at him.
"What? A guy's got to smell decent."
Karina turned and whispered at Natalia: "Give him some that smells like skunks."
"I heard that!"
Alucard walked in the classroom and greeted Layla, who didn't look too enthusiastic about sharing a classroom with the troublemakers. To ensure nothing goes wrong or either or them snag a few tricks from the other class, they had te counselor from the Mage class to put up a magic barrier between them.
"I think our last lesson ended quite abruptly," Alucard started. "Extra class hours for everyone in school."
The barrier might be up, but it wasn't 100% soundproof. A lot of complains emerged from the marksmen class.
Lesley's class, on the other hand, was somewhat okay with it. Since they all were assassins, they had experiences of waiting weeks or months to eliminate a target. A few hours was nothing compared to that.
"Proceeding to our previous class." Alucard stuck his sword into the ground. "'Items.'"

"Assassins are so lame. I mean, they can't even be a man and fight us hand-to-hand," they heard the marksmen class complain. The female assassins all whipped their heads towards the culprit, for the barrier was down due to the end of school.
"You are so dead," Natalia threatened the guy with twin guns. "I dare you to repeat what you said."
"You want hand-to-hand? I'll GIVE you hand-to-hand when my hands find your throat!" Fanny barked.
The guy yelped and backed down. He tripped on a table and fell on one of Natalia's smokebombs that smelled like skunk.
"I thought you gave them to Gusion," Lesley noted.
Natalia fanned the smell away from her nose. "I always help my comrades. Besides, he can't use them against us."
The classroom door opened and a couple of marksmen took in the scene in dumb surprise. Lesley understood why she fit in more of an assassin more than a marksmen: They are too dramatic.
"What happened?" Miya demanded.
"Miya?" Lesley asked.
"You know her?" Fanny asked.
"At the Welcoming," Lesley confessed.
"WHY DOES EVERYTHING SMELL LIKE SKUNK?" A dude with metallic legs screeched. "I should've replaced my nostrils when I replaced my legs!"
"This cannot be good for your hygiene," said the demon-looking dude.
The girls gave each other high-fives. Then Karina got hit in the face by handcuffs threw with (not really, it's totally pathetic) high velocity.
Lesley winced. "That's going to leave a mark. And now everyone's going to..."
Karina roared and charged at the guilty guy with her blades. The marksmen fanned off urgently as she tackled the man. Miya turned invisible and appeared at the other side of the room. The demon dude teleported away in shadows. And the soccer dude slid out of the classroom football style.
Lesley sighed. "-fight."
"You got that right." Fanny went to restrain Karina. Lesley went with her. Natalia kept the line, threatening to toss more skunk bombs at them.
When they pulled Karina off, she looked more angry than before. Then they stared at the marksman, whose noses were bleeding.
"What did you do to him?" Natalia demanded. "Poison?"
The marksman twitched. "Such. Big. Boobs."
Lesley stared at her night elf friend incredulously. Soon every marksmen began to beat him up and the assassins didn't have to do anything.
"YOU'RE SEDUCED BY AN ASSASSIN?" the demon dude shouted.
"YOU USELESS PERVERT!" Miya shrieked.
Through the chaos, they walked right out the classroom door.
("Why can't I turn invisible?" Fanny mewled.)
("Fan, calm down," Karina coaxed. "Neither of us could fly.")
("There's no need for invisibility if you're going to tear your opponents apart anyway," Natalia noted. "So they can look at death in the face.")
("And I'm the only one who can deal with one target at a time," Lesley sighed.)
