20 minutes later

It's been 20 minutes since Ihsan texted Abba but he hasn't replied yet.Suddenly a ping was heard making a glimmer of hope to shimmer in her

"Sorry that's my phone" sadiya chuckled nervously as she bought her phone out of her pocket

Ihsan and the other girls sighed and rolled there eyes in disappointment

"Why are we sitting here nervously! Let's go and interact with people" Hanan suggested standing up

"Nah let's just wait 5 more minutes,besides parents have already starting coming" Ihsan declined laying her head on Amal's lap who was sitting on the desk

"Why is this so dreading.... waiting for a guy's text likes driving me insane, I can relate ihs-" Amal started but a ping from her phone cut her halfway, her smile tuned up side down into a frown and tears started to well up in her eyes

"I can't believe her" Amal shook her head angrily

"Amal what happen" Sadiya asked putting her hand on Amal's shoulder

"She said she would come, she promised me" By now tears has already began streaming down Amal's cheeks

"Shhhhhh" Ihsan hugged her friend trying to calm her down, they all know what this is about

"She told me that from now on I'm going to be her top priority"Amal hiccuped wiping her tears with the tissue Hanan passed her

"I'm sorry Amal, I know she is your mom and all but you gotta stop getting your hopes high every time she says you are going to be her top priority! This is the fifth time your mom has done it" Sadiya whisper-yelled trying not to be heard by others

"I just can't stop getting my hopes up, everyday I pray and hope that she would change and be a caring mother that doesn't think about work all the time"Amal replied somberly

"In shaa Allah she will come around kinji (you hear)" Hanan patted Amal's shoulder lovingly

''Don't worry you've got us" ihsan said gesturing the circle they made

"This call for a group hug"Amal said with a teary smile as she spread out her arms for her friends to hug her

A ping finally from ihsan's phone made them break the hug

"Sadi please come and escort to the rest room,my eyes are already red" Amal chuckled walking out with sadiya

Ihsan picked up her phone in anticipation of Abba's message, it read "look up" so she did and to her greatest surprise there he was standing in all his glory, she nudged Hanan and signalled her to look up

"Ahh ya Abba you have arrived welcome" Hanan greeted engulfing him in a hug

"Thanks lil sis" he replied, all of the sudden ihsan's hands started sweating,her heart was threatening to burst out of her chest, she could hear her heartbeat in her ears,her stomach was turning in knots,her eyes closed to relish the sight-

''Ihsan are you just gonna sit there aren't you gonna say hi to ya Abba?'' Hanan asked reviving ihsan from the comatose state she went in after seeing her Demi-god of a cousin

"Oh.. um..hi'' Ihsan greeted after she slapped her forehead gently in a sophisticated manner so as not to make Abba think she is crazy

"Alhamdulilah" he replied sitting opposite to her,seeing this Hanan took it as her que to quietly walk out and give the two some space

Ihsan's eyes roamed around the class and sure enough all the girls were speaking in hushed tones as they eye Abba like a piece of candy making her snap

"Will you guys face your fronts and go back to what you were doing" she roared angrily like a lioness making all the girls go back to what they were doing, ihsan isn't mean but you don't want to get on her bad side, she is like the Queen B of the school

"Woah woah, calm down tigress" Abba chuckled amused yet grateful, he hates attention but his looks attract a lot of attention even from guys

''Sorry about that" Ihsan apologized feeling embarrassed about the way she acted

Now he is going to think you are some thirsty bish wanting to keep him all to her self, damn girl!!; Ihsan's subconscious taunted making her unintentionally curse loudly and immediately close her mouth with her palms when she realised that she just cursed loudly

"Shit... I mean sorry" she apologized closing her eyes tightly wishing the ground will slow her up

I really got to stop watching American series, look what it has turned me into!; Ihsan thought

"It's okay, calm down at least you didn't say it in front of your parents like i once did, biggest mistake of my life" Abba laughed recalling the past

"No way, you actually said the f word in front of your African parents! And you are alive to tell?" Ihsan chuckled

"What can I say? I'm a living legend" he shrugged trying to look cool and hell yeah he did! Ihsan laughed making him join in

A buzz from her phone interrupted their little special moment, and guess who sent the text. Airtel of course! If not Airtel who would spoil such a great interaction

Ihsan hissed silently as she saw the text

"Is that from your boyfriend" Abba asked feeling a bit insecure

Ihsan laughed before saying "Gosh no! It's Airtel, my data is running low"

"You that is rich" Abba chuckled

"Abeg shift,I no get shi shi and if this sub finish you guys won't see me till next month" ihsan said even though she knows her account is loaded with millions in it

"Ahhh poor kid,naso you broke reach?" Abba decided to play along with a goofy smile on his lips

"Even 10 naira I no get" ihsan said wiping her imaginary tears

"Ahhh,abeg you are lying" Abba burst into laughter

"Okay fine I have 10 naira you have caught me" ihsan laughed raising her hands in surrender

"But wallahi that's it,The 10 naira I even found it on the floor Its not legally mine" ihsan confessed truthfully, she found the 10 naira laying on the floor close to the kitchen door

"Ahh thief!" He exclaimed laughing

"10 naira is too small na, so you don't have even small 5k?" He added wanting their convo to keep going on

"I no be dangote's daughter, where will I get 5k!" She dramatically shouted as she placed both of her hands on her chest

"And it's not stealing, I found it fair and square" she defended her self

"In just small 5k? You are saying you are not dangote's daughter" he shook his head in amusement

''Ehen na,you are rich that's why" she said nodding her head trying to act pitifully

"Not as rich as you,toh let me tell you that 10 naira doesn't belong you so stop saying you own it" he chided passing her a piece candy that he bought for Nana(Hanan's younger sister)

"Thanks" she thanked opening the wrapper of the candy

"It isn't mine but I found it In my father's house,so it's legally mine" she laughed popping the candy in her mouth

"Toh I hear" he gave up seeing that she isn't ready to let go of her ten naira

"Ahtoh better no deprive me of my ten naira" she laughed

"Mumu" he hissed playfully as he shook his head amused

"Ode" she laughed

"Fufu" he laughed

"African dwarf pig" she said making both of them to burst into a fit of laughter like a bunch of mad people
