The Truth... - Chapter 35
- Monday Morning -
I woke up and got ready, so did Sarah. I changed my band aid that was on my arm. Then, we went down stairs and ate pancakes, and bacon. We thanked my mum and then walked to the bus stop.
Several minutes later, we arrived at Oakwood High school. Ashton, and Jake were waiting for us, so the four of us could walk in together. We're a big group of friends.
"Hey guys!" Jake said. Jake and I are now really good friends. We decided that being friends was better than being nothing. I'm glad he's my friend, he's a great friend. "Hey!" I said. "What happened to your arm?" Ashton asked. I might as well explain it to them because they're my friends. But I don't think I should tell anyone else. "About that, I need to tell you guys something..." I began to say but was distracted by Blake walking past us and narrowing his eyes at me. He passed us but I could tell he was staring at me, it felt like he was shooting daggers into the back of my head.
"Follow me," I said to them as I led them to the back of the school. I told them everything that happened. They couldn't believe it. "Wow," Jake said. "I can't believe that jerk!" Ashton said. And I couldn't agree with him more. Blake is definitely one of the worst people I know. Well, him and Josh. I mean, Josh is the one who cut me anyways!
We kept talking about how we will try our best to stick together so nothing else bad happens. Then, we walked to the back doors of the school, but right as I was about to open the door, Blake ran to the doors and locked them from the inside of the school. He gave us an evil grin and waved and then walked away. Ugh, could he get any more annoying?! I don't think that's even possible.
We had to walk all the way back to the front of the school. We were going to be late for class. I can't get anymore detention, or my mum would get angry.
We started running. We finally got back to the front of the school. We walked to our lockers and grabbed our textbooks.
"Sarah and I got to get to class, but we'll see you guys at lunch!" I said. "Okay, see you later, bye guys!" Jake said. "Bye!" Sarah and I said. Ashton and Sarah kissed and then Jake and Ashton went left down the hall and Sarah and I went right. We finally got to Mrs. Harrison's room.
Luckily, the tardy bell had just rung so weren't in trouble. So, I can get that thought out of my head.
Precalculus finally ended, and now I have to go to gym class. Nothing too interesting. I went to the girls locker room to change. When I finished, I went into the gym. "Alright, so today we're going to be playing dodgeball!" Coach Abigail said. Oh no! I hate dodgeball.
"The teams will be, Harper, Jenna, Ashton, Blake, Max, Amy, and Josh. Versus Sophie, Jake, Olivia, Sarah, Daniel, Zach, and Grace." No! No! No! Josh and Blake being on the same team during dodgeball can't be a good thing! I don't like this at all! Maybe I could just fake being sick, or fake an injury so I could sit out—
Then the whistle blows.
Crap! What am I going to do?!
I picked up a ball and threw it at Josh hoping I would get him out, but nope. It just made him mad. He picked up a ball and chucked it in my direction. But right before it hit me, Jake caught it in his hand. That was a close call. "Thanks, Jake!" I said looking into his gray eyes. "No problem," he said while smiling at me. I smiled back. His smile is so cute—No, Grace. Bad, Grace! Don't fall for him again! Your the one who picked Blake, so don't fall for the other guy! Nope, you can't do it!
But I was quickly pulled out of my thoughts when a ball got throw at Jake. Josh chuckled. Then I looked around and noticed that only two people were left on the other team, can you guess who they were? They were the most annoying, and Idiotic boys I know, Blake and Josh.
And the only people left on my team were Sarah, Zach, and I. A ball quickly got throw in Sarah's direction but she quickly moved to the side, dodging it just in time. I don't understand how she does that. Then, Zach threw a ball at Josh, but he caught it. Zach then walked off the court and sat with the others on the sidelines. Sarah started chucking balls one after another at the both of them which caused me to laugh. Some other people laughed as well.
Once Sarah finally ran out of dodgeballs, Blake threw one at her, and she wasn't able to move in time. She got hit in the stomach, which caused her to groan in pain a little bit. The boys on the other team just high-fived and laughed.
Now, it was only down to the three of us. I'm scared. I put my hands up in defeat, but they didn't take no as an answer. They both started pelting me with dodgeballs and I fell to the ground. Blake threw one more and it hit me face pretty hard. My nose started to bleed. "Princess, I think you have a bloody nose..." Blake said. Him and Josh chuckled and just watched me, as I stood up and put a hand under my nose, blood dripping onto my hand.
Coach Abigail handed me a tissue and I thanked her. "Hey, little girl!" Josh began to say. "Why don't you just run along, and continue being the little brat that you are!" He continued. "Yeah, no one likes you here! You don't belong here, and you never will!" Blake said. I'm gonna cry. "Why don't you leave my best friend alone?!" Sarah said while crossing her arms. It's at times I like this when I love Sarah even more than I already do. "And what are you gonna do about it, pipsqueak?" Blake asked. Sarah just rolled her eyes. "Run along, Grace," Josh said. "More like Grace The Disgrace," Blake said. I could feel the tears start to develop in my eyes. But my mind kept repeating two words.
Don't cry.
Don't cry.
Don't cry.
I ran to the girls locker room, and cried for what seemed like hours. I looked at the clock and noticed it was lunch time. Then, I changed back into my normal clothes and went to lunch.
I walked out of the locker room, down the hall, and into the cafeteria. I saw Sarah. She was waiting for me. I walked through the lunch line with her, but I didn't get any food. I was still starving myself. I hate starving myself, but I keep imagining how it will feel once people stop calling me fat all the time.
Sarah and I finally sat down after she grabbed what she wanted. We sat at a table near the windows so we could have some sunlight, since were in the dark school a lot of the day, and I know that there's lights on in the school, but still. A little sun might be nice.
Sarah and I talked for thirty minutes. She had finished her lunch with in the first fifteen minutes of lunch. We still have another fifteen minutes left before Physics class with Mrs. Ikleman.
"Hey, girls!" Someone said. Oh, no! I looked up to see Josh standing next to Blake. "What do you want?!" I asked harshly. "I wanted to ask you something," Blake said. "Okay, fine. What is it?"
"Grace, why aren't you eating?! I hardly ever see you eat anything!" Blake said loudly for almost the entire cafeteria to hear. I'm guessing he did that on purpose. He's trying to humiliate me, in front of everyone. "I do eat, what are you talking about?" I shot back, trying to make up an excuse. It's at times like this when I hope that the principle says 'Grace Walker please report to the main office' over the loud speaker.
"Oh, really? Then, why do you have no food in front of you?!" Josh said. And everyone in the cafeteria gasped. Dramatic much? "I already ate," I said. "Well, I haven't actually seen you eat for a while now," Blake added. "Well, why are you staring at me?!" I shot back louder than I intended. But I'm kind of glad that I shouted it so mostly everyone in the cafeteria heard it. Blake narrowed his eyes at me. I could tell he was getting frustrated. He whispered something in Josh's ear, and next thing I knew, Spaghetti was being dumped down my shirt! Josh took someone's spaghetti and dumped it down the front of my shirt! Wow! And then, just to make things worse, of course Blake just had to get a cup of water and pour that on my head. My jaw dropped. Now, I could feel everyone's eyes on me.
Everyone began laughing and whispering. I could feel the tears start to form in my eyes again, and I started running out of the cafeteria leaving footprints of spaghetti sauce on the floor. I feel bad for the janitor, but not as bad as I feel for myself. I slipped half way down the hallway. People were laughing, I got back up and continued running to the girls bathroom. And that's where I stayed for the rest of the school day.
I don't care if I get detention for skipping class. But, I most certainly don't want to be seen like this! And I can't even stand to look at Josh or Blake at all anymore!
Then, it occurred to me...
I need to get them back! And I need to get them back good!
