I Think I Love You... - Chapter 41

- Saturday Afternoon-

I just finished having my lunch. I had a turkey, cheese, and mustard sandwich.

I got a text from Nate.

Nate: Hey, angel are you ready?

Aww, he called me angel! That's so sweet! This morning when I woke up he said 'Good morning, sleeping beauty!' Aww!

Grace: Yes, I'm ready. Where should we meet up?

Nate: Do you want to come over to my house?

Grace: Sure, that works.

Nate: Alright, see you soon!

Grace: Okay, see you soon.

I put my phone in my back pocket of my jean shorts. "Mum, I'm going to Nate's house," I said. "Alright, sweetie! Have fun, don't be gone too long." She said. "Okay," I said.

I opened the front door and exited the house. I started walking to Nate's house when something stopped me. Or someone. I turned around to see a boy, he looked around my age. I don't recognize him though.

He had blonde hair and blue eyes, he was taller than me and he looked strong. He looked pretty built.

"Are you Grace Walker?" He asked. "Y-yeah," I stuttered. "Who are you?" I asked. "I'm a friend of Blake Richardson and Josh Williams," the boy said, my jaw dropped. What is with people making my jaw dropped? Oh my Josh! Wait, did I just say — oh, no! I think I did! Ignore me, I meant Josh. No! I mean Gosh!

I didn't want to hear those names anymore.

"Well are you just gonna stand there or are you actually gonna say something?" The boy asked. He's rude, just like Josh and Blake.

"My friends are now in jail because of you," "I-It's not my fault there in jail," I said. "Yes it is," he said. "No it's not! I did nothing wrong, they were the ones who—" I began to say but I was interrupted by the boy. "Ugh, they were right about you, you really are irritating," he said. I tried my best to ignore him and continue saying what I was saying before he so rudely interrupted. "As I was saying, I did nothing wrong, they were the ones who lied to me, broke into my house, and Josh even cut me, and Blake was going to hurt me," I said. "I actually don't care, I didn't ask for an explanation," he said,

What is this guy's problem? Like, seriously.

I turned away from him without saying anything else and started walking again. But he grabbed my hand and turned me around.

"Let go of me!" I shouted. "No!" He said. I frowned. "Help!!" I screamed.  "Stop screaming!" He said. "What if I don't?" I asked harshly. "Then, I'll hurt you," he said. "Oh, please. Blake continuously said he was going to hurt me but he never did, it's not like you would cut me, I mean look at you—"

And that's when it happens. He cut me...

I mean I guess I was asking for it. But I just thought he was bluffing. I didn't think he'd actually do it.

"Ow!!" I screamed. He smirked. "How does it feel, Grace?" He asked. "It hurts so bad," I said while crying. "Good!"

I need to get to Nate's house, but o have to make sure this boy doesn't follow me. I need to get away from him. Does he even have a name?

"What's your name?" I said still crying. "Why?" He asked. "I'm just wondering, you just cut me the least you could do is tell me your freaking name," I said. "Fine, my name is James," he said. "Okay, well James..." I began I struggled to get up because of my cut leg. The cut that Josh gave me left a scar. I hope this doesn't leave a scar, or else it'll stay there forever.

Okay, I'm going to try to make a run for Nate's house. It's gonna be difficult to run, but I have to. I'm unsafe right now, once I'm safe I'll take care of the cuts.

I got up slowly and wobbly. I did the only thing I could think of, I slapped James in the face repeatedly and then punched him in the nose with all of my energy. I'm pretty sure I heard a small crack, but I don't know, he groaned in pain. And I stated running as fast as I can. I looked back and noticed he wasn't following me...yet. "I gotta go left!" I yelled. But I went right. I didn't need to go left, I needed to go right. I had to trick James into thinking that I went left. I can't have him know where Nate lives. I don't want to risk him getting hurt.

I noticed I was alone. He wasn't following me. I lost him. So, I can try to relax. But, I have to keep running, I have to.

I finally got to Nate's house. I repeatedly knocked on his front door, looking right to left, right to left behind me, making sure no one was there, especially James. I was still crying.

Nate came to the front door. "Grace, are you okay?" He asked while wiping a tear from my face. "No, can I come in?" I asked quickly. "Yes, of course, come in," Nate said. I walked in the house, limping. It didn't look like anyone else was home. "What happened?" Nate asked while locking the door. "I'll tell you, but can we sit down?" I asked. "Of course," he said he lead me into the living room. We sat down on the couch. I told him everything that happened from right when I began walking to when James cut my leg to when I ran to the front door.

"Wow, do you know him?" Nate asked. "No, he freaked me out," I replied. "Yeah, I bet, he sounds so weird and violent, but so was Josh and Blake," Nate said. I nodded my head. "I'll be right back," Nate said. "Please don't leave me," I said. "Don't worry, the doors are locked, I'll be right back, I promise," Nate said and left.

A few moments later he came back with a glass of water and a first aid kit. Aww, he's so caring and sweet! He handed me the glass of water and I took a few sips of it. Then I handed it back to Nate and he put the glass of water on the table behind him.

He told me to extend my leg out, so I did. "This might sting, but it will be okay," he said. I nodded my head. He took a wet, soapy paper towel and put it on the cut on my leg.  It stung like he said. But it will be okay. He applied some pressure to my leg which stopped the stinging. Then, he took the paper towel off. He told me to put on some neosporon, so I did. Then, he put a bandaid on my leg.

"Thank you," I said. "No problem," he said while getting up and washing his hands. When we was done washing his hands, he sat down on the couch. He kissed my cheek, and then he put his arm around me. "When your with me, your safe," he said. That's what Blake said to me.

Nate tried his best to distract me. And the good thing was that it was actually helping. "You came over so we could talk about our feelings for each other, so let's do that," Nate said. "Okay," I said.

We smiled at each other. "What do you like about me?" I asked. "I like your bright blue eyes, brown hair, your smile, and of course your personality. You're outgoing, smart, nice, and pretty." Nate said. Aww! He's so sweet!  "Thank you, that literally means so much to me," I said. "Your welcome," Nate began. "What do you like about me?" He continued.

There's a lot of things that I like about Nate. But, I'll only name a few.

"I like your sparkling brown eyes, fluffy brown hair, and of course your personality. You're athletic, smart, kind, caring, and cute," I said, slightly mocking Nate. We smiled at each other. "Thank you, that literally means so much to me," Nate said, mocking me. We laughed. "Your welcome." I said.

"Grace, I think I love you..." Nate said. "Nate, I think I love you too," I said. I decided to tell Nate how I really felt about him. I wanted him to know how I feel. I didn't want to hide my feelings for him anymore.

"Grace, whatever your middle name is, Walker, will you be my girlfriend?" Nate asked. "My middle name is Marguerite and yes, I'll be your girlfriend!" I said. We smiled. "I am so happy right now, you have no idea," I said. "I have one idea..." Nate said. "I'll be right back," he said. "Wait, where are you going?" I asked. "I have a surprise for you," he said. "I'll be right back, I promise," he said as he walked upstairs.

Moments later he came back downstairs. He had something behind his back. "Here, I want you to have this," he said handing me a dark green hoodie. Holy guacamole! I love hoodies! "Seriously? I love hoodies!" I said taking the hoodie from him. I hugged the hoodie and then I hugged him.

I put the hoodie on, we talked for a little while longer. "Nate, since were a couple now, what do you think about going on a double date with Ashton and Sarah, tomorrow?" I asked. "I'd love that," he said. "Awesome. I'll let Sarah know, later." I said. "I should go home, it's getting late," I said looking at the time on my phone. It was 7:35PM.

"Okay, do you want me to walk you home?" He asked. "I mean if you want to," I said while getting off the couch and started walking towards the front door. "Yeah, I'd love to," he said. "Okay," I said while walking out of his front door.

We talked about our double date with Sarah and Sarah tomorrow. We were both excited.

We finally got to my house. "Stay safe, I don't want my baby getting hurt again," Nate said. Aww! Now I'm his baby! "You too! And I'll try my best," I said. He nodded and smiled. "Bye Gracie, I'll see you tomorrow on our double date with Ashton and Sarah," Nate said. "Okay, bye see you tomorrow," I said as I opened the front door and walked inside.

I told my mum everything that had happened from James cutting my leg, to Nate helping me, and then him asking me to be his girlfriend, to the hoodie, to the double date.

Then, I went upstairs to my room because I was tired. I sat down at my desk and texted Sarah about everything that had happened as well. And about the double date. She was so excited. I texted her good night. And then I went to my bathroom. I got ready, and then I flopped down on my bed. I put Nate's hoodie back on again. The hoodie had the smell of his cologne on it. I loved that.

I got comfortable and then drifted off into my thoughts. Nate, I love you...
