Chapter 7
When Kaishi caught up to Cielo he had calmed down quite a lot.
"Cielo!" Kaishi yelled when he saw his brother not too far ahead of him. Cielo looked back and stopped walking. Kaishi stopped next to Cielo slightly panting.
"What is it, Kaishi?" Cielo asked looking at said teen.
"Do I have to have a reason?" Kaishi said. Cielo looked like he didn't believe him.
"You can't lie to me Kaishi, I can tell when you do," Cielo said.
"Fine, I didn't want you to disappear. Also, I wanted to know if you wanted to talk," Kaishi said sighing.
"Don't worry Kaishi I'm not going to leave I still have a job to do," Cielo said ruffling Kaishi's slightly spiky brown hair. Kaishi smiled before hugging Cielo suddenly.
"Good cause I don't want you to leave me and mom alone again," Kaishi said stepping back and looking up at Cielo. Cielo's eyes held kindness more than they did when he first arrived at the Sawada household.
"We should head back," Kaishi said.
"When Iemitsu is either calmed down or not there is when I'll go back otherwise it'll be a fight again," Cielo said closing his eyes and turned away from the direction of the house. Kaishi looked at Cielo then towards the house before moving so he was standing next to Cielo.
"Okay, then I'll stay with you," Kaishi said cheerfully. Cielo smirked as he glanced at Kaishi.
"Then what do you want to do little brother?" Cielo chuckled.
"Anything as long as I can spend time with you," Kaishi smiled.
"Alright. Then come on," Cielo said as he ran ahead of Kaishi. Kaishi laughed as he raced after Cielo not so quickly catching up.
"Cielo slow down!" Kaishi called.
"Nope, before we go to the cake shop you need to train. Now try and keep up with me," Cielo said not changing his speed.
"Why do I still have to train if I'm not going to be the boss?" Kaishi complained.
"Because even the advisor is a boss that runs the sister famiglia, so if something ever happens to the main boss they will take over till a new boss is found. In order for that to happen, you have to be stronger than Iemitsu, in other words, be better than him," Cielo said.
"So I have to be a boss either way?!" Kaishi whined.
"Yep, but you'll have me to help you," Cielo said smirking. Kaishi sighed and tried to keep up with Cielo. A while later Kaishi managed to keep up with Cielo for a little bit.
"Cielo aren't you tired?" Kaishi panted when they stopped running.
"Who do you think I lived with and was trained by for eleven years?" Cielo asked folding his arms not at all phased by the two mile run the two of them had run.
"How should I know!?" Kaishi huffed.
"That would be Reborn," Cielo smirked waiting to see Kaishi's reaction.
"What that spartan!?!" Kaishi yelled shocked. Cielo nodded while Kaishi's eyes widened still processing the information. Cielo chuckled and lead a stunned Kaishi to the best cake shop he knew in town. Kaishi snapped out of his daze when the smell of sweats overpowered his senses, he looked around mouth almost watering. Cielo held back his own sweet tooth drool as he walked forward to the cashier. Kaishi followed eyeing all the different types of cakes there wondering which he wanted to try.
"It's on me Kaishi," Cielo said before turning to the lady behind the counter and ordered a strawberry cake. Kaishi nodded and decided on a strawberry cake as well having never had the opportunity to satisfy his extreme sweet tooth with anything but chocolate bars. Cielo paid for the cakes and walked over to a table the tray with the cakes on it in hand. Kaishi followed wanting his cake.
"How were the years you spent in Italy?" Kaishi asked once he had sat down with cake in front of him.
"What brought up that question?" Cielo asked just about to take a second bite of cake.
"I was just curious," Kaishi said taking a bite of cake.
"I understand. Well, let's just say it wasn't all fun and games considering who I was living with, plus as the years went on it got hectic," Cielo said setting down his fork finished, his cake completely gone.
"Really? How so?" Kaishi asked after he finished his cake.
"When I was old enough Reborn took me on a lot of his missions and then a team formed so we kept getting more and more requests. Then I was ten I gained the titles I have now, which brought even more, requests." Cielo sighed standing up. Kaishi nodded and stood as well.
"We should be heading back now, come on," Cielo said calmly now walking out of the shop. Kaishi followed not sure what to say.
"Well how was your life till Reborn and I showed up?" Cielo asked.
"Hiding behind a mask of a jerk isn't fun, I hated ever minute of it but I couldn't give up on the search not like mom did. Though I started to feel like what I was doing and going through was pointless. Being in that crowd it wasn't who I really was, even then I was looking for a way out." Kaishi admited looking at the asphalt road. Cielo put a hand on Kaishi's shoulder.
"Everyone has something they regret," Cielo said trying to make Kaishi feel better. Kaishi looked up and smiled slightly at his older brother who smiled kindly back. The rest of the way to the Sawada residence was silent.
