The title probably wouldn't have drawn me in by itself. I like it a lot after reading because I can't think of anything better. It just isn't the most unique thing in the world.

The cover is gorgeous. I wondered why you chose that particular species of mermaid to feature on the cover?

You probably could have used a better hook. It seemed a bit long, and a little cheesy. Adding so much information right off the bat can be confusing to people with no idea of the story.

First Impressions: 3.75/5
It started of pretty cheesy. The school day, the bitchy popular girl, and the scales all had me skeptical, because (aside from the scales), it didn't seem all that original. But I'm so glad I kept reading—it certainly is unique.

Characters: 5/5
Seriously, I wish I could give you a 10/5. Your characters are the life blood of the story. And not just Jasmine, who's an outstanding MC, but Micheal and Brianna and Jake. And of course my personal favorite, Gabriel. Despite having tails and breathing under water, the Novus clan is so true to life. They seem like real people you could meet anywhere.

And the diversity is fantastic! You've included so many ethnicities, multiple sexualities, and characters that are attractive, but not in the 'traditional' sense. All this just makes me fall in love with your characters, and respect you much more as a writer, mature and informed.

Plot: 5/5
It wouldn't be the sort of story I pick up normally, and I'm so sorry I haven't gotten a chance to finish it yet. (So freaking busy, I haven't even updated my own stories in months). I do plan to finish this, because I need to know where it goes. I don't want to give spoilers, because people need to read this themselves, but the plot is phenomenal! It's hilarious, with moments that are quite wonderfully dark, and lots of emotions. You have a knack for cliffhangers, even mild ones, that will force readers to keep on going.
