🌹CHAPTER FORTY - FOUR🌹

Months go by so fast and I've healed and now I'm better. I do have a scar on my stomach near the bullet wound scar but I also have a scar on my back. I can walk normally now but there are times that if I do run or do something that like that then my stomach will begin hurting.

The doctors told me that it will most likely be like that for the rest of my life as there is nothing to be done about it. However, they also said that when this pain comes there is nothing tearing inside, there is no organ failing. In truth they can't really explain these pains that I get but that doesn't matter because I'm happier than I've ever been.

I finished my novel. Finally that is. It took a couple of weeks but I did finish and my mom and Alexander read it and they loved it. Now the book will be published soon. Alexander had actually bought a publishing company and remained it as his own and now he actually owns it.

And he's going to publish the book and I'm certain that he's going to buy so many copies of it. For the last weeks he's been telling me that I need to write a second book. That he wants to know what happens next. The novel actually has a name now.

My mom finally told me the idea that she had and I found it strange that I did not figure it out sooner but I suppose that is all right. I sigh as I watch outside the window at the world. I hear Alexander enter the room and I smile to myself as I turn around to face him.

"You seem happy" He says to me as he sits down next to me and I laugh. "I'm always happy when you're around me" I tell him and I feel the blush rise to my cheeks when he takes my hand. "The same I can say about you" He tells me, which only deepens the blush.

"I've got a surprise for you" He says and it's only now that I realize that he has been holding a box that now is on his lap. "What is it?" I ask him and he chuckles. "Always so eager to know everything, aren't you?" He asks me and I roll my eyes when he says that and nod my head.

"Why of course I'm eager. You said you had a surprise for me and I do want to know what it is. I'm not one for surprises, you know" I tell him and he only chuckles once again at my words and they may be a bit silly but still, I'm a curious person by nature and when someone that they have a surprise for me, I do get excited and a bit impatient.

"All right, here" He tells me and hands me the box. The box doesn't look like that much and I can tell that it's sort of a last minute kind of a surprise. I lift the lid off the top and I gasp when I see what is inside the box. I get tears in my eyes but these tears are happy ones.

I pick it up. "Is this...?" I ask him and he nods his head but before he could reach I've welcomed him into a tight hug. "Thank you, thank you, thank you" I say to him as a tear slides down from my right eye as I hold it in my hands with a wide smile on my face.

In my hands is my book. Paperback and it looks amazing. The cover is amazing and there went so much work into it. "The first copy ever made. I thought it would be fitting for you to own it" He tells me and I smile at him as I hug him once again.

"I can't thank you enough for this" I say and he shakes his head and takes the hand that I don't hold the book. "You don't have to thank me in any way but with your happiness and joy. That is more rewarding than anything else in the world" He tells me and I smile as the blush rises to my cheeks but I don't care about that.

I don't care how ridiculous I must look with red cheeks, tears going to my face and the widest smile that has ever come across my face. This happiness just soars through me like never before and I don't think anything else can make me more happier at the moment.

Perhaps Alexander because he makes me so happy. "Is my book going to sell? Do you think people are going to read it?" I ask him and he chuckles. "Of course. Rose. People out there are already so eager to read it. Where have you been? The internet is blowing with your book" He tells me.

I've not been much on the internet. I've mainly just been so focused on the company. Now that I'm caught up to everything, I don't want to lose that now and I'm trying my best. Alexander doesn't need to be there for me anymore, though he does like to annoy me and flirt with me while we're trying to work.

He always comes up with the most ridiculous excuses that he just needs to see me otherwise he would not be able to make it through the day. One day we parted ways to go to the separate company and then not even an hour later he shows up because he missed me.

That was actually funny. Mrs. Ryder told me that he was just so whipped or whatever that means. That her husband is also like this but not this much. He needs to call her every hour to check upon her and to hear her voice. If you ask me, I think it's so romantic.

"You're so going to need to be good at signing your name because something tells me you're going to be doing a lot of that. Now, I have one last surprise" He tells me and he stands up. I put the box where he had been sitting before and stand up.

Still holding the book that I don't want to let go, it makes me smile in the best way possible because this is a book that I wrote. A novel that I actually made. We go into the living room where there is a TV and we sit down and he turns on the TV.

"Are we going to be watching a movie? Because I would like to get a blanket and perhaps go into my pajamas before we do that to get more comfortable" I ask but he smiles and shakes his head. "We could watch a movie but that is not what I'm going to show you. Here. Watch" He tells me and turns on the news and I watch.

"Rose Ace a woman that apparently can do everything. That woman is certainly the proof that Wonder Woman does exist. A true woman in power. If you don't know her, then you're living under a rock. She has survived not only one, not two but four murder attempts against her and survived" A woman speaks in the news with a smile on her face.

They show a picture of me and it's a picture that was taken when I got awarded for an award for the company when I created it and it instantly became a hint. "Ms. Ace's first book is flying off and once she revealed the cover it was taking everyone by surprise and awe everywhere. Now, her book which bears the same name as she does Rose tells her story and her life. The life of this hero that we have here among us" She continues.

"What is this?" I ask and I turn to look at him. "I told you... people love you and this book is going to make everyone love you even more" He tells me. I don't know how he did it but this is amazing. I take his hand in mine as I continue watching.

"It are only two weeks until this amazing woman will release her book and I don't know about you but I'm getting myself a copy" She speaks and I gape at the TV. She talked so much and he even interviewed some of my... fans. I have fans. I never truly knew that and it's amazing.

Staring down at my book which my mom had picked the name for. Rose. It may seem like it's something that is selfish but this book is after my life and what happened to me and my mom found it fitting that it was going to be named that. After all roses do have something to do with my family and my parents.

She was either thinking Rose or A Rose Has Thorns. But she wanted me to choose the other one since it was simple and gave a clear description of the book, mostly that is. I sigh with happiness as I look at him with the biggest smile on my face.

"Thank you" I speak to him as I know that he had a hand in all of this and I will never be able to thank him enough for this. Not when he has done things like this for me. Alexander is truly the best fiancée in the whole wide world. I put the book down on the table and stand up.

"I think I'm going to take you on that offer of watching a movie, I'm going to change. I'll be right back. You can make things ready and can you get a blanket for me?" I ask him and I smile. "Yes, of course. I would do anything for you" He tells me with a grin on his face and I smile as I turn back and head out of the living room.

"Thank you" I call when I've left the room and I could hear him slightly laugh at it. Smiling (though the smile never disappeared from my face) I walk down the hallways until I reach our bedroom and I quickly change out of my clothes and into my pajamas to make things cozy and comfortable while watching a movie with him.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to be so tired when we've finished the movie and I might even catch some sleep while we're watching but it's not my fault. When Alexander is holding me and I'm leaning against his body I just feel so tired and he lulls me into sleep without even trying to.

He holds me each and every night and I think he never lets go of me because I always wake up with him holding me still but I don't mind that. I like it when his arms around me and he holds me tightly and safely. Once I'm in my pajamas I head out of the bedroom and walk back the hallways until I reach the living room.

And while we could've just watches in our bedroom which does have a TV, I find that the living room is better and it's close to the kitchen if we want to get something to eat, some snack or something like that. When I walk in there I see that he has made all of the pillows comfortable and made things just look cozy.

He even has laid out the blanket that I like out for me to go under. It's a thick blanket which does keep me warm and it's so cozy. I walk over to the couch that he has made into a sort of a bed where we can lie down while we're watching. "You ready?" He asks me and I nod my head and he plays a movie that he picked and I snuggle close to his body as the movie begins.
